Well Juve got an early second half red card that affected their ability to mount a genuine comeback in that game. Regardless, the point is Ronaldo has also featured in several matches where Juve lost or drew this season and he didnt have an impact e.g against Napoli, Inter and Atalanta. If he hadn't played these matches and they still lost or drew, you'd have said it was because he wasn't there. So you see, there's no guarantee that if he had featured in those Serie A matches where Juve performed poorly, the result would have been any different.

I'm blaming him for not scoring or being more dangerous to create more opportunities for his team against Porto, who are not even the best team in the Portuguese league and over almost 2 and a half matches. Ronaldo was expected to at least score a goal which would have enabled his team to qualify but he didn't. Even if he didn't score, at least he should have been a constant threat. But most of what he did was to be misplacing passes, interrupting promising play opportunities and co. Though he eventually registered an assist but it was not enough for his calibre. No brilliant telling contribution from him throughout the 2 legged tie (other than the assist), and as the supposed best player on the pitch you'd expect he'd not be blamed?

If it was Lukaku that fumbled against Porto over two legs like this, we'd be killing him saying he is not world class. We would not remember Inter's defence o.
