Southern unity ended in 1959 .Igbos have been supporting fulanis since 1959 ,but they do pretend to hate fulani .They blame everything on YORUBAS that they are the problem of the south .When AZIKWE an IGBO man from the EAST formed a coalition government with the TAFAWA BALEWA a FULANI from the NORTH while Yorubas were in opposition ,and sideline AWOLOWO .Azikwe thought the fulanis were dull,stupid and uneducated and decided to take control of the Balewa/Azikwe government ,but unfortunately the fulanis outsmarted him ,and since then the fulanis have been the controller of Nigeria due to Azikwe hatred for Awolowo,sent him to jail for 10 yrs .This same shameless igbos shouting Yorubas are betrayals formed a goverment with fulani in 1983 under Sheu shagari a FULANI and Alex Ekueme an IGBO in 1983 while Yorubas were in opposition ,even Ojukwu campaigned for a fulani man that destroyed them during civil war.Same igbos killed our western region premier Akintola ,they also suspended the regional goverment through ironsi and ben nwabueze .In 2011 Yorubas massively voted for jonathan ,and we got marginalized and noting to show of in our region as a result of Jonathan goverment ,our elders met with jonathan but everything was futility ,we kept calm till his tenure finishes and decided to remove jonathan by Allying with FULANI ,which was the first time in history .And all we got from igbos were INSULTS LIKE betrayals,fulani slaves ,fulani asslickers and all sorts.same igbos that formed a government with fulani Twice ;which is very funny .Their lord and personal saviour Ojukwu even campaigned for NPN of sheu shagari a fulani man,whose tribe together with british killed 3m igbos .i wonder the hypocrisy.So u have to agree with me that igbos only make noise when they are out of power.

Relax and read what I posted all over again, the damage was already done, it is a foundational disaster, the only option left for Awo is to protect his people and his homeland.
The reason why Awo asked for the inclusion of secession clause in the constitution is to avoid Ojukwu's option which is WAR.
War is never an option, Yorubas already fought a hundred years of civil war among themselves, they've just had a hundred years respite thanks to the British.
Awo already knew that there is no way Nigeria won't end up in a fiasco, this was why Awo try the secession clause idea, so that Yorubas can easily pull out of Nigeria, had there been a secession clause there would have been no need for bloodsheds.

SW was colonized separately, the current Nigerian high commission office in UK, used to be the embassy of Western Nigeria in UK.
If the secession clause was included in the Nigerian constitution, Awolowo would probably have pulled SW out even before 1963.

What Awolowo saw and demanded for secession clause to be included in the Nigerian constitution, Adaka Boro saw it, Ojukwu eventually saw it, the whole of Igboland saw it and this was why they support Ojukwu's Biafra agenda, unfortunately their fore fathers signed them into this union, forceful exit is a breach of contract, the owners of this slave ship the British will not take it.

Nigeria is not a nation in the real sense of it but a business interest the British established and handed over to the Fulanis to manage on their behalf. I wouldn't want to waste my time rehashing how the Yorubas has contributed majorly to the sorry situation we have found ourselves in this country because they will always want to give excuses regardless of whether it makes sense or not. We had a golden opportunity to break up the contraption called Nigeria in 1967, but the Yorubas led by Awolowo backed out and teamed up with the same people that have been humiliating them! The same North jailed Awolowo and caused serious crises in the SW that led to destruction of lives and properties! Same Awolowo already knew that Nigeria had no basis when he called it a mere geographic expression. He already knew that everything has been rigged against the South. He knew that following the assassination of Ironsi, it was Ogundipe that ought to take over yet when Ojukwu insisted on that, he couldn't even insist too and Ogundipe ran away on exile out of fear. Awolowo never believed in Nigeria yet instead of declaring Oduduwa republic even if it meant forming a government on exile, at least that would have dealt a blow against the North diplomatically, he made 360 degree U-turn and joined the same North and its British supporter to unleash an unprecedented Holocaust against Biafrans/Igbos. He even advised Gowon with the assistance of Britain to place a blockade against Biafra which resulted in the death of millions! Biafra actually lost the war due to this factor because in terms of combatant casualties, Nigeria suffered far more losses!

Today, even while Nnamdi Kanu who has understood the game Fulanis are playing against Southerners and all others in Nigeria will openly support the likes of Sunday Igboho yet these same people will turn around to call him names and wish both Nnamdi Kanu, Igbos and ESN evil. Even when Amotekun was created, Igbos mostly supported it same with Sunday Igboho but when ESN was formed these same wicked people condemned ESN and wished that evil will befall them. Ask them, what has ESN or Nnamdi Kanu done to them to warrant them wishing them evil? Nothing! Unfortunately for them, the evil they're wishing on ESN and Nnamdi Kanu has now befallen them!

I am a Southern Nigerian. But, most times, I'm ashamed to admit it. That's because I've noticed that Southern Nigeria might be the World Capital of Stupidity. Sorry my people but, please, hear me out first before the crucifixion.


The worst part of it is that most of us Southern Nigerians seem to think that we are wiser compared to the Northerners. Of course, a hallmark of fools is that they judge themselves by themselves - and their judgment always favors them against others. 


That's my Southern Nigeria for you - an enclave of highly educated fools. Once again, I'm sorry for this verbal brutality but I hope that - like bitter pills - it may help to heal our crass levels of foolishness here.


HERE IS A CASE IN POINT


Today, I read two first page posts that were adjacent to each other. One of the posts reports about 'a reign of terror' going on in the South-Eastern city of Onitsha while the other is talking about how some herder terrorists are still sacking Ogun residents and forcing them to flee to Benin Republic!

I believe that the Nairaland Admin purposely and wisely placed those two reports side by side to make Southerners think. But, instead, the Southerners (mainly Igbos and Yorubas) turned the reports into an opportunity for their usual online inter-tribal wars - trying to show which is better between Amotekun and ESN in very very bitter terms!


How much more stupid can we get as a people! Everywhere on Earth, it happens that a common enemy unites people. But not in Southern Nigeria - one reason why this may be the World Headquarters of STUPIDITY as I said earlier. How could we afford to be fighting each other at the same time that we are getting plundered by a common enemy!?! 


It's such a big shame to any Nigerian that Nigerians now have to flee to little Benin Republic in order to save their lives. But, it is a greater shame to Southern Nigerians (and to Yorubas in particular) that the people forcing us to flee our homes are from the far-away North - because of our extremely unwary attitudes like those of our ancestors for centuries now. It's also a shame that Igbos often complain about oppression from foreign terrorists but would so easily become terrorists unto themselves (as in the 'Onitsha reign of terror'). Is that how Igbos will run the Biafra they're looking for? As one of the shameless mockers noted about the Onitsha report:

WHAT SHALL WE DO THEN?

So, if any humanity or maturity is left in us, these things should make us too ashamed to easily be pointing accusing fingers at other people. Again, that's the height of stupidity.


Instead, both online and offline, we should be discussing and working and spending all our energy on getting ourselves out of this mess that our years of stupidity has gotten us into. Let's flee foolishness. Instead, let's learn the kind of wisdom that liberates people from personal/national slavery and shame.
