Depends. Provided you have the right permits, and documentation, and follow the rules, you can keep a wild animal like that in a sane country.

Ateke Tom has a lion and a lioness in his palace at Okochiri. Although, I heard the lioness fell sick and died some years. I heard he imported the lions from South Africa.

Those days in Port Harcourt, it was rumoured that former Petroleum Minister during Abacha's Junta, Mr. Dan Etete owned a lion in his then palatial residence in GRA.

most of our elites has wild beast in their houses but ain't displaying in on social media.

Exactly my assertion.
I don't understand the bitterness and hostility towards the man as if he's the reason for each of their problems.

What is our problem, Is he our president? Or is it because he is the president in-law...Habaa, some nairalander should grow up. As far as I am concerned, we should be less concerned about his affairs or doings. Let's face PMB and his government

Look at your bankrupt mindset...
So Dubai is not a sane country, USA is not a sane country....
Come out of that cave you are living.
In sane countries rich people keep exotic pets. this is one of them...
stop being myopic

I wonder who is bankrupt minded or myopic between the both of us. Let me educate you:

As per USA:
4 states have no laws on keeping dangerous wild animals as pets: Alabama, Nevada, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.
6 states do not ban or regulate keeping big cats as pets: Alabama, Nevada, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Delaware, and Oklahoma.
21 states ban all dangerous exotic pets, while the rest allow certain species or require permits.
35 states ban keeping big cats as pets, with varying exemptions, requirements, and levels of enforcement.

Now based on that information, majority of the states recognize the danger of keeping such dangerous animals as pet hence they banned it. If 35 states out of 50 banned it, then it is safe to assume that majority of the states in the USA are sane with respect to keeping big cats as pets.

As per UAE:
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has outlawed the keeping of wild animals, like lions or tigers, as pets. For some in the oil-rich Gulf State, owning the likes of a cheetah is a status symbol, but they now risk jail or a fine. - BBC news: January 4, 2017.

Besides, can you live beside a neighbor who has a lion or big cats as pets? How safe would you feel?

I bet you will be another prey waiting to be feasted upon in that your cave called house.

In as much as I want to agree with u but it does, Animal rights don't really have much to do about this!!! Don't let the fact that u hate him for being rich or just a husband of zahra(Buhari's daughter) cloud ur judgement and get the better of u! In fact I'm sure the lion cub is much better in his hands as he has what it takes to take care of it

Lol... this isn't exactly true though. Lions don't eat everyday. They either take "small" chunks (less than 10kg) of meat everyday 3 to 4 days or large chunks (50kg) every one week depending on the availability of food source. Farm grown goats can weigh as high as 150kg so that's, at least, one goat in three weeks. In the wild, lions hunt in groups and when the prey is down, each member takes its bite thus making it necessary that they eat every 3 to four days.

You're trying too hard to sound smart. The digestive system of lions is the thesis? So where did you then get that they need a goat per day? Does that even make sense to you? What is the size of the stomach compartment of a lion? Maybe you also need percentages to say a human cannot consume a full goat per day. The problem is that some of you guys in Africa are not receptive to knowledge. You know what, forget I quoted your comment. Enjoy your day.
