Sure, I am not biased by racial differences. The system I am biased about. Like you said, when you do such act, you know deep in your mind you have taken jobs away from an American and only exploiting and immigrant. You not helping them in such situation cos they don't have an option in the first place.

The first day I say that played out, I was scared. I saw the doom ahead. Two guys offered to offload a 20ft container with metallic hardware's for $200. I knew slavery was still real.
That's part of life all over the world not in America alone. We all have to start from somewhere. Let me tell you a simple story I told here once. There's a woman of Yoruba extraction I knew at the Pentecostal Church my family used to attend on the North side of Chicago. She was brought to Chicago as a Nanny from Nigeria and she was undocumented. Any church anniversaries, the women will cook and this particular woman will cook and there's something about her jollof rice and vegetables stew that overwhelms everyone in the church. We implored her to open her own restaurant and she did and she was really blessed and I could easily say she's close to being a millionaire if not already. The people that envies her called ICE on her because she was undocumented. Six Nigerian lawyers rose up to defend her pro bono and she ended getting her permanent residency and now she's an American citizen. America is a land of opportunity and will not deny anyone of that because the illegal immigrants do not disturb my progress as long as they are not into crime.

That you mentioned is very true. It's a land opportunities for whoever is willing to explore. But when we start counting the effect on crime again, one would almost want to have a second thought. Immigration brings the best brains into America, and we must also accepts it brings in menace too. How is this checked balanced, putting a system in place. Canada did. All sought of jobs are on the express entry cartegory.

If their are no check balances, the system would be overwhelmed. If we call a spade a spade and outrightly point out wrongs, their is no in-between in this discussion. Australia and New Zealand doing same. If I consider the story you shared, I will welcome illegal immigration. If we am assured that the best are the ones coming-in

Don't get me wrong, I am not welcoming illegal immigration but it's what it's. Illegal immigration is part and parcel of American life. Australia, New Zealand are different countries and they are not neighbors with poor struggling countries like US is. About crime, illegal immigrants crimes are nothing compared to the crimes committed by American citizens and the statistics from the FBI certifies that. The bottomline is that no President or law is going to abolish or stop people from coming to America illegally.

I thought I revisit a point you raised about illegals not disturbing your progress, it's true because you are far above the middle class.

The people who feel this impact are the lower class and entrepreneurs.

Remember when we discussed about $15 minimum wage? It will only send people to the circus of unemployment. Their are people waiting to get that same job for $7.5 happily

I have reemphasized severally that I am not calling for an abolishment. Just checks and balances. Nothing is impossible if the mind is willing. The number one man can get things done if he wants to. Cos the long-run will only lead to a collapsed system.

Like you said about crime being committed by Americans, how do you curtail the within when the influx at the boarder is high. We have alot to deal with internally than also welcoming a weak immigration policy.

This thing with illegal immigrants working for bare minimum have a way of working themselves out. I feel for the lower class people that got caught up with losing their jobs or livelihoods because of undocumented immigrants but I do not feel for the entrepreneurs because those are the people taking advantage of undocumented immigrants by underpaying them for their labors. Those are the ones the Government should go after if they want to stem the tide of illegal immigration.

The system is too strong and too viable to collapse because of illegal immigration. If that is true, it should have happened Fifty or sixty years ago. The problem with immigration is nothing new in America. Things have a way of working themselves out. Like I said before, most of the undocumented immigrants here in America came in with visas and the only way to stop that is to stop issuing visiting visas to people in Africa and other parts of the world.

They are undocumented, you can't go after them. Absolutely no record. A man who got entry at the airport has records. This lots have no record. With their fingerprint, nothing can be achieved.

That is my point you raised. How do you go after this one's, they are not a ghost in the system. People who patronize them know, but you don't want to hurt someone by reporting them.

Some people will call you stupid for mowing your lawn with $100. They will tell you they know someone that does it for $50. Meet the individual they talking about and you will see a brighter picture. Meanwhile, the previous mower is joblesss and can no longer pay bills

Stopping visas is impossible. Better and more viable options can be implemented. But trust me bro, this menace is really hurting fellow Americans. It's not hidden .

People use illegals for oil change, factory, garden , plumbing and all sought of works. It's like a reigning thing. Now, are we sounding patriotic if we try to act like it's normal cos we comfortable.

I know a multinational in this trade. Cheap labour and while Americans tell you their are no jobs. $15 dollar will send alot to unemployment circus.

Those companies know the play. They will only come low. Crime, I don't want to go into, cos that's another dead end.

So I and my friend were discussing politics last week, then I was like yeah the only Good thing I could pick from trump was that he had lower civilian deaths and air strikes than Obama. And he was like that's false, that I should dig

Then yesterday I found a bbc link dated early 2019, and at that point (just two years) into his presidency, Trump had done more air strikes than Obama’s 8 years and also he rescinded an Obama era executive order publishing civilian death numbers ( which was good for transparency)

So the whole he didn't start new wars was just a prop up? Who know if he killed times 3 civilians than Obama?

Very good arguments from both sides.
Refreshing to see two people make their points with absolute courtesy and lack of belligerence.
I do side with the coronavirus guy though. The immigration system is broken and the rate of illegal migrants coming in is truly dangerous.

Biden has to find a way to fix it. No country will like to see itself being overrun heavily by impoverished foreigners. Of course, most countries wish to attract the best of other countries, the best expatriates, the best students, the best tourists, Business men etc. And for people who fall into these categories, it is usually very easy emigrating LEGALLY into any country of your choice. But with illegal immigration, you end up bringing far more impoverished people who seek for solace, but unfortunately a significant part of them go into criminal activities in a desperate bid to survive.

My problem with the Trump administration was that it was hostile to any form of immigration, be it legal or not. The republican administration is staunchly opposed to the idea of non-white foreigners coming to america. Banning most countries and making their immigration laws extremely stringent. Even student Visas were revoked and prohibited.

I love the fact that biden has eased the immigration laws again but he has to take border security very serious. He has to take deportations seriously while also investing money in those countries to alleviate their economic problems.

Many at times, it's difficult to capture the mindset of black evangelicals in rural southern america. I think this article let's us see the world through their eyes. Many of these people want to call themselves independents, because they try to minimize the racism around them while being prejudiced towards LGBT and abortion.
I urge you guys to read the article, it's quite informative.

Joe Biden knows not where he is, what's he doing and must have a handler behind him all the time. Either Jill Biden or Kamala Harris.

To think that any sane voter cast his ballot for this demented idiot is truly insane.

Joe Dementia is just signing off on Obama policies of divide and rule, racial grievances, gendering activism, anti white policies, anti christian ideals etc.

Joe dementia is a puppet. Obama could be the guy running the show through Susan Rice and or Valerie Jarrett.

Do you know it was a Republican administration that made the Visa lottery that thousands of non-white immigrants benefitted from? The aim of the lottery is to have a diverse immigrant population so any country that has more than 50k immigrants will not be eligible and this made many White European countries ineligible and increased the number of non white immigrants. This was a Republican regime policy. No matter the part of Nigeria you are, You will know someone who has won the US visa lottery and settled in America. Tell me any Democrat policy that has allowed that many non white people into America.

These visa lotteries take anyone from Professor to cleaner. You know Canada, Australia etc for instance that we all love to use as an example only take the highly educated immigrants?

Someone explain to this individual that if a stone or a frog had run against trump trump would still not have won because trump was so disgusting and bad, but thankfully decent Biden ran and beat trump's orange deplorable racist ass out the White House so he should deal with his loss instead of whinning as he does, or not, we don't care how he feels!

Naaa, Truth just has to be said at some point. Cos when it backfires, you would be remembered for your stance.

Biden is not encouraging it, his laid out immigration policy is what's fuelling it. It has been interpreted by this migrants has path way to citizenship. Why the surge and why i demanded that it takes a firm stance an illegal immigration. It will only get worse with his approach.

Everybody is aware about the situation, it's not a Qanon build up. ICE is already overwhelmed and seeking volunteers.

I am a Texan and why I might be somehow sentimental. Of this goes out of hands, trust me, it won't affect states so many states cos this illegal immigrants don't even explore them. The burden will be on this State and it's citizens

The administration need make a tough stance and balance. Trust me, the mentality they all have is Biden will put them all on a pathway to citizenship
The mistake Biden made was making the cutoff for his planned amnesty from November 1st of last year(though I think he just did it for posturing).
McCain had a proposal that made the cutoff date from 2013(which Trump shut down). That makes a bit more sense to me.
At the end of the day, we all know this will be sorted out sooner or later.
There will be some form of Amnesty with parts of the RAISE act pushed by Tom Cotton adopted.

It's the same thing I've been talking about bro. I have many family members here(some have been here since the early 80s) and only 1 that I know of used to vote Democrat more than once.
What this dude said about the Hannity and Newt disparaging Obama(and black people indirectly) about Food Stamps is what made one of my uncles change his vote last minute from Romney to Obama. He said Romney was starting to misbehave trying to satisfy parts of the Tea Party section of the GOP.
Fact is in a sane world, GOP should be getting nothing less than 35 percent of the black vote. But when you spend time labeling every black person that complains of racism as having a victimhood mentality and just wanting handouts - you get 11 percent at best.
We all know most black Dems are mostly moderates but you know...they all want handouts and are "socialists" according to certain uninformed individuals...

I want you guy's to see this intriguing article I came across.

I felt a bit confused reading this, because i don't know if this guy was minimizing racism or protesting anti-racism "extremism".

See for yourselves.
A Twitter User took to the public site to share how the present toxic conversation around race has affected his family and almost tearing his family apart. Read Next.

Woke anti-racism is child abuse.
My family is living the antithesis of @thomaschattwill‘s Self Portrait in Black and White. And I fear it may damage my children irrevocably. Let me explain:

I’m white, my wife’s black. When we met, we “saw each other’s race,” but we didn’t think that was the most interesting thing about us. We foolishly thought our children would be part of a post-racial future, in which all Americans could just be human beings to one another.
Then came Trump. I decided I should try to learn more about my fellow citizens, who I now realized were completely opaque to me. In contrast, my wife decided she was at war with an immutably white supremacist America.

My wife began to read authors like Nikole Hannah Jones and Michael Harriot. She had a “racial awakening,” concluding that she’d been “inauthentically black” all her life. My wife came to think that her mind—trained in exclusive private schools and in two Ivy League institutions for a BA and a PhD—had been “colonized.” She’s come to think she owes her success to being “the right kind” of black woman an inauthentic and “white-acting” black woman who is “non-threatening” to “white spaces.” Most disturbing, she’s reinterpreted her 5 decades of life—in which she only ever had one very mild story of a microaggression—as a history of brutal, grinding racial oppression.
Deep beneath her inauthentic “white” acculturation is an oppressed black woman, struggling for freedom. This is what racial grievance entrepreneurs like NHJ have done to my wife’s mind. What she’s doing, in turn, to the minds of our small children makes my blood run cold.

My wife is teaching our children that America hates them and wants to kill them because they’re black. Rather than take the birth of our children—ambiguous, innocent, raceless little creatures—as an opportunity to rethink the oppressive American race ideology and not hand it down to a new generation, my wife got “woke” after Trump and doubled down on anti-racist racial essentialism. Here are three hair-raising stories.

First story: she regularly explains to our kids that the police want to kill black people. Blacks are people police like to kill and always have been. They will keep using the pretext that they get “scared” when unarmed black people reach into cars, like Jacob Blake, or steal police tasers, like Rayshard Brooks, as long as using that pretext allows them to keep killing black people with impunity. That’s what she told our children, who by plantation logic, are among the black population that the police go out hoping to kill every day.

Second story: she told our kids that Kyle Rittenhouse, like so many whites, hates black people, and wants to kill black people, so he went to a BLM protest and opened fire. When I asked, in a neutral way, why she thought Rittenhouse had shot those people, she became upset and stormed out of the house, not to return for 3 hours. The “obvious” answer is that Rittenhouse is a white supremacist (I don’t think she even knows that he shot only white people). Any probing beyond this self-evident axiom is too triggering to indulge. (BTW I have no defense of Rittenhouse, a confused, stupid kid, whose foolishness and apparent criminal behavior led to his needless killing of two people.)

Third story: We drove by a poster that said “Ahmaud” with a pic of Arbery. Daughter: “Who’s that?” Wife: “That’s a black man who was killed.” My 7-yr-old daughter, now trained to think white people hate and want to kill black people like her, went straight to the inference “Oh, so they killed him because they hate black people?”

My daughter needed no further information to infer that a black man who had been killed was killed because “they hate black people.”
This is bad enough, but what’s worse is that my wife is training her to see herself as one of these universally hated black people, whom everyone wants to kill. Let the implications of that for my girl’s soul, for the ease with which she will encounter her world, sink in.
My wife wants her to “inherit the wound,” as I’ve heard @thomaschattwill say, when she should inherit nothing but joy, love, and a sense of her own endless potential in a world that will reward her for her beauty and brilliance, not punish her for “hatred” of her blackness. Why does my wife want our kids to “inherit the wound”? I suspect it’s because, due to her parents’ successes, who fought the Civil Rights battles of the ‘60s and became a surgeon & a teacher, she never inherited the wound herself, and has come to feel “inauthentically black.”

After all, NHJ and Coates are always telling her how traumatized she should be just because she’s black in America. So, she has come to believe that only when she viscerally feels the wound that all black people are supposed to feel, will she herself be “authentic.”
My wife’s father told me he’s glad his daughter, and Obama too, come from the post-Civil Rights generation, because they did not acquire his “black rage.” This is why Obama could be elected, he said, and why race was never important to his daughter, my wife …till now.
Newly desiring to feel the wound, but not able to authentically experience it due to a life of untroubled privilege, she’s living vicariously through her kids, trying to inflict the wound upon them. Maybe if she can’t be an authentically wounded black person, they can?

Like a father who pushes his son into sports in which he could not excel himself, she’s pushing her children into a racial grievance that she has read about in books and in the NYTimes but has never had a chance to experience for herself. The only viable alternative to this child abuse that I’ve seen is in the writing of @thomaschattwill. The alternative my 80-year-old father-in-law offered is as bad as my wife’s plan. He said he’s happy his grandkids will identify as white, so they will never have to feel the sense of inherent worthlessness compared to whites that he felt coming of age in the Jim Crow south. His revelation of his own wound saddened me immeasurably. This proud surgeon’s scars bears witness to the country America used to be.

But my father-in-law’s solution—a binary solution, and the only one this black man from another era could come up with—is as bad as my wife’s. I don’t want my children to identify as white any more than as black. I want them to be deeply aware of the complex and difficult, but also often beautiful, histories behind their parental lineages. But I pray they identify into neither blackness nor whiteness, for each of these legacies is heavy, the one with pain and the other with guilt.
I want them to be the generation that at last transcends the limiting and soul-destroying American “skin game.” I want them not to identify but to empathize deeply with all the complexities of their heritage, without being limited by the trauma and shame it would impose. To me, that’s how we can, at last, become simply fellow citizens, simply fellow humans, to one another.

So, I’m in this for the long game, a game in which my wife, with her racial-essentialism agenda, has as yet no real idea that she has an opponent. I’m committed to mitigating the effects of what I see as her child abuse where I can, until our kids are old enough to read for themselves @thomaschattwill, @cvaldary, and other thoughtful writers who come from a place

We both know that today's republican party has now gone full blown white supremacy. The party has been hijacked by the extreme faction. What Regan did for immigrants can't happen again today under a republican.

The Republican party and almost all their candidates have been tagged racists even in the times of Reagan and Bush. It didn't start today even when it was a Republican who made laws to include non-whites in the DV lottery they would still be called racists

What Reagan did for immigrants, did it happen under Democrats? At least we have had 16yrs of Democrat rule since Reagan. Republican gave amnesty and Visa lottery, what have Democrats given to diversify America in their 16yrs

I want you guy's to see this intriguing article I came across.

I felt a bit confused reading this, because i don't know if this guy was minimizing racism or protesting anti-racism "extremism".

See for yourselves.
Does wokeness really exist, or is it an attempt by the right wing to tarnish black people by highlighting every crackpot extremist black view and make it seem these views are widely held?

I personally don't know any "woke" black person in the context of what we see in the media. They only exist on Twitter.

The only woke black people I know are actually extremists who won't bother trying to get the white man to accept them. They are separatists and don't have time to beg white people for anything. They are too busy talking about Egypt and lost black civilisations.
Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by PrideofLincoln1(m):
It's true the amnesty and Visa lottery was enacted under Reagan's presidency but the fact of the matter is that Democratic Speaker of the House of Representatives Tip O'Neal of Massachusetts and the Democrats in the House are the anchors and don't let anyone distort history here. In fact, when the Visa lottery was introduced, it was to benefit White Europeans especially the Irish and Italians but it was then used to benefit African countries when the economy of Ireland and Italy improved. That law will never pass the Congress if not for Speaker O'Neal and the Democrats that shepherd it through the Congress. This I know for a fact and it comes out of my memory like it was just yesterday. Republicans are very accepting of Nazis, Klans and White Supremacists and that's my gross about the Party of Lincoln. I voted once for a Republican Governor by name George Ryan of Illinois and funny enough he ended up in jail before serving out his time. The funny thing is that the Democratic Governor Rod Blagojevich of Illinois ended up in jail too for trying to sell Obama's vacant Senate seat for campaign donations. Oh my Beautiful Illinois.

I would believe him if he said "my ex-wife" or at least admits he does not live with his family anymore, because his children will need to be very stupid and dumb not to ask if daddy is white too unless he wants to claim he is irresponsibly letting his "wife" do all the brainwashing!

Even in Nigeria,What the average yoruba Man or woman will do at an higher price,The average northerner coming from a place of poverty will do it very cheaply or even almost for free..The northerner which we live together in the same country oo not to talk of an illegal

So it is normal for it to come that way..I think Biden might adopt the Obama approach to illegals..Note,No government will open its doors to illegals to come in just like that..

They shall keep on processing them at the borders and as professionals that they are, they know better what to do..No need to get worked up

I read somewhere it was the democrats in Kentucky - maybe under GOP administration.

I just want illegal immigrants to stop coming - no jobs for them unlike in those days. Biden should be stricter.

The Visa Lottery was made into Law under Reagan and Bush Snr

A lot of border communities are complaining about the border crossing and overpopulation in the holding facilities. Biden needs to find a solution so that this doesn't define or ruin his presidency which has started well

We had an ilegal immigration crisis in Canada I think in 2017 after Trudeau tweeted that Canada welcomes refugees fleeing prosecution in response to Trump's Muslim ban from 7 countries. Alot of ilegal immigrants in the US headed up north and overwhelmed our borders. Trudeau made a press release that he was quoted out of context, but it was too late. Haitians in the US (when the U.S. began considering an end to the temporary residency program for Haitians that had been in effect since the 2010 earthquake), and lots of Nigerians (including one from Texas facing child pornography charges), and all other ilegal immigrants just headed north.. People were obtaining US visas in their respective countries, only to land in the states and head to the Canada border the same day.

How Canada resolved the crisis was via speedy trial and deportation. I think Obama used same method. There was a record number of deportation under Obama. Biden might want to look into that as well.
They could also borrow some ideas from the UK by going after the employers hiring immigrants for under the table wages.

What is so difficult about this in Yankee?

Strict enforcement of those employing people without National Insurance numbers would do the trick. Companies cheating Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs comes with serious consequences such that employers generally will not try it.
