Very soon you will run to the mods asking why you are bashed...

Now this is northern Nigeria as of yesterday...

I used to live in the north...

These people come to the local markets unclad.

They live in the region between Niger and Gusua area.
Yes it is,the question is are they Hausa,Fulani? This are the people that you guys like calling middle belt and like reminding us that they are not northerners, but now they are northerners cause it favour you hypocrite. The question is,is there a single empire founded by Igbo people? If any please mention them.

STFU..

First there is nothing like Hausa/Fulani.

They are distinct tribes. Stop the disgusting attache by force as you are slaves under Fulanis who are less than 5 million.

Secondly, were the Hausa and Fulani born with their clothes on?

You need help to cure your huge inferiority complex.

Even if they are distint group.

The hausas have been more advanced since the 16th century because of islamic education. Similarly with the fulanis.

Clothing and trading have been passed on from generations to generations, infact the hausas and fulanis elites and ruling houses were very modernised and very organized to the extent that when the british came, they couldnt crack down the culture.

You have no logical points to make, that is why you are full of abuses.

You have changed history.

Igbo people were still naked when usman dan fodio was preaching in sokoto in the 19th century.

Below is a picture of how igbo people were in the 20th century.
Today, the naked people is far ahead of the clothed ones.

Not true.

Infact the naked people arent ahead, they still can't organised themselves well till today.

When you were running from one place to other naked, we in the north were using Arabian horses for transportation

There was no oha neze ndi igbo during that period.

In the wiki link you posted, no mention of war by the aro confederacy against the colonists.

You don't believe in democracy...if you believe what is democracy in igbo language.

Lets get things straight.

The igbo people before the colonialism were highly disorganized, they were scattered around which made it hard for the organization of different clans.
You said Anioma are not Igbos and I reminded you that an Anioma was once the President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo.

It rotates. Imo is doing their turn and it will return to Anioma again soon.

I know you cannot read, go through the link slowly and the exploits of Aro Confederacy will stare you in the face.

Like I said, go back to school. Only fools argue about Igbo democratic structure.

WTF....

So only Hausas and Fulanis have empires in the north?

So every tribe must have an empire?

Having empire is not the ambition of the Igbo or they would have had it.

Igbo are conservatively republicans with strong cultural democracy where everybody is allowed to contribute.

They do not practice expansionist agenda, bowing to feudal chieftains.

This enables them to purse every endeavor from trading, science, entertainment, economics, arts, etc, etc, without any hindrance.

Now what is the use of your empires, today?

As you know this same Igbos can effectively compete with you that have empires all put together.

Igbo professors are more than Hausa and Fulanis professors put together...lol

We are talking about old igbo.

Stop twisting information. We arent discussing about ohanaeze igbo

The rotation of the present age was gotten from westerners, it has nothing to do with old igbo structures.

If you want to talk about rotation of power, pdp and apc do rotation of power, infact some yoruba kingdoms do rotation of power between different ruling families.

Stop acting like you invented rotation of power

I think this topic should be treated based on educational purposes not this jocular remark you made there.

The op still need some enlightenment. Because he can't differentiate Empire between kingdom. There's nothing like Benin empire or Hausa empire. We only have 7 empire in west Africa which include OYO Empire and kanuri Empire, other are kingdoms.
Okpotokpo:
It surprises me that you included afonja who betrayed his own people and letter died a coward.
I don't think it's your fault, history is banned in Nigeria schools that's why you eat every propaganda they fead you, so dumb.
The igbos resisted the British colonialist and their hausa Fulani Yoruba slaves for 33 years, all thanks to anioma people, they fell at ogwashi uku at asaba at onitsha when trying to conquer Igbos etc.
But it took them less than a month to overran the whole Yoruba land. I think it took them few days to take over Kano. And you here talking rubbish, oga go and research before saying what you don't know anything about.
You and your so called massive empires what has it benefited you, yet the women warriors of Benin republic gave you a run for your dear lives. grin

What is it about empire building to be proud about?

You are proud that your barbaric ancestors went about invading and pillaging neighbouring African tribes?
Killing their young men and taking their women for sex slaves?
What is there to be proud of useless empires that never evolved any civilization and were battered in matter of days by the British empire?

Igbos never had empires, we are not empire builders,we are a people who cherish freedom and never tried to enslave others. We were Republican and Democratic in nature.
The world has realized that monarchy is outdated and are shifting to democracy, yet Ndiigbo had practiced democracy since ancient days. We were ahead of time by a long mile. The Igbo so hated monarchy that we gave our children names like "Ezebuilo" meaning "The king is an enemy". The Igbo has always been against the idea of one man dictating for everyone else, which is what empire is all about.

Despite this, the Igbo mounted the most resistance against the colonists than all the mushroom empires in Southern and Northern Nigeria.

There was no democracy in old igbo land.

There were different unorganised igbo clans scattered in many places. That is why monarchy system couldn't take place.

Every organised civilization had a monarchy, even the Egyptians had a monarchy, the greek had one etc.

In the igbo culture, The head of the house or the clan was the sole ruler( dictator)

No election was ever organised in old igbo land even till today, no election is held when selecting a clan leader, it is mostly by senority.

If you read the short page. I am sure, it was written by a missionary who believed in slavery.

The good niggers and civilised people were the hausa, nupe yorubas etc. It went further to say they shouldnt be touched or used for slavery.

The half civilised people were the igbos. Who were fit for slaves
