INBREEDING
inbreeding in grasscutter farming is very wrong and it would affect the offspring of your stock on the long run.
I try as much as possible to source my rat from different sources to avoid the possibilities of inbreeding
I don't understand

That cage is not strong enough. start saving money to build standard cage. very soon it will use teeth to scatter that net and the wood

housing.
I bought a colony (2males and 3females) on the 24/02/2021 for 80k, due to to their small sizes I used bokoharam net to cover the cage round so they won't escape.
grasscutter has a very sharp teeth, that was why I choose such net to prevent them from biting it and escaping.
I would be posting more pictures soon as my grasscutter have become more familiar with me.
So, Boko Haram Net dey..

Interesting...

Aren't humans the only ones that should worry about inbreeding?

No. For someone farming these animals to sell for profit, inbreeding is very cruxial. Imagine a colony (na today I learn am o) of grasscutters with one parent (or maybe both) having say albinism. The chance of an inbred offspring being albino increase everytime they are inbred. And no one will like to buy an albino grass cutter or any grass cutter with any hereditary genetic conditions

Tag them once they are born with numbers of a colour code. Then separate them by sending the males to other cages so they do not start mounting their sisters.

They might cut it and escape with time...
you are very right sir.
due to their small sizes, I don't want to use that thick net with big hole.
we will transfer them once they grow bigger
