Politics › Kwara Holds Open Bid For Renovation Of 31 Public Schools by postbox(op): 8:11pm On Nov 28, 2019
At least 115 local contractors on Wednesday took part in an open bid for the renovation of public schools recently advertised by the Kwara State Government.

The bid, conducted in the presence of the media and the contractors, followed Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s directive about government contracts adhering to the public procurement process.

Mariam Garba, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, said the first phase of the project involves eight first-generation schools in the state which will undergo a comprehensive renovation.
Twenty three others would have their classrooms and offices renovated and basic infrastructure supplied to make learning conducive in the schools, according to Garba. She said the projects would be executed under 34 lots at the total sum of N2,004,205,641.01.
“The infrastructure decay/deficit inherited is so enormous and cannot be immediately remedied (in one fell swoop) due to the huge cost required,” Garba said.
“The present administration has therefore demonstrated courage in deciding to institute modalities for the gradual renovation of dilapidated structures and provision of essential facilities that will make public schools in the state conducive for teaching and learning.
“I want to reassure all bidders that this ministry is committed to ensuring that the whole process will be transparent, open, free and fair.”
The bidding involved ministry’s officials reading out the figures and other details of the bid, including the technical and financial parts of the proposals.
Some of the contractors who spoke with newsmen commended the state government for the transparency of the process and the confidence now reposed in indigenous contractors.
“The process is transparent. We all saw the opening of the bid. The technical and financial bids were opened in our presence and as far as we are concerned it is transparent. We have the assurance from the Permanent Secretary that everybody will be equally treated,” Maroof
Ahmed, Secretary of the Indigenous Contractors in Kwara State, said. “We want to thank the government for patronising the indigenous contractors because it has its own merits.
“An indigenous contractor who wins any of the lots will engage artisans, local drivers, suppliers and the likes, and these people make the bulk of our population in Kwara.”
Temitope Odetoye, Vice Chairman of the State chapter of the Nigerian Society of Engineers who was at the event, also lauded the process. “The process is fair, open and transparent as the bids were open in the presence of everyone,” he said.
“We have been urging governments to patronise indigenous engineers. We are very happy this is now happening. It is a welcome idea. It is like giving back to the system and contribution to socio-economic development.”
The schools advertised for the renovation included Government Secondary School, Alapa, Asa LGA; Community Secondary School, Baboko, Ilorin West LGA; Senior Secondary School, Okelele, Ilorin East LGA; Ansar Islam Secondary School, Ikotun, Oyun LGA; Pategi Secondary School, Patigi LGA;
Government Arabic College, Jebba, Moro LGA; Government (Unity) Secondary School, Kaiama LGA; Osi Central School, Ekiti LGA; Offa Grammar School, Offa LGA; and Government Secondary School Omu Aran, Irepodun LGA.

Crime › EFCC To Assist Guinea Establish Anti-Corruption Agency by postbox(op): 8:01pm On Nov 28, 2019
The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu and President Alpha Condé of Guinea on Monday, November 25, 2019, reached an agreement that will see the Commission, assist the West African country, establish an anti-corruption agency.

The agreement was reached in Conakry, the country’s capital following President Conde’s invitation of Magu and request for EFCC’s assistance towards establishing an anti-corruption agency in the country.

Speaking with Magu, President Conde disclosed that the success stories of the EFCC in the fight against corruption in Nigeria informed the choice of the Commission as a mentor organization for his country’s anti-corruption agency.

Apart from the meeting with Conde, the EFCC chairman held a meeting with leading figures in the country’s economy towards the proposal. They included: Namory Camara, managing director of the country’s agency in charge of private investment, Dr.Mohamed L Doumbouya, the ministerial advisor in charge of financial institutions, Mr Gabriel Courtis, minister of Investment and Mr Kouyaté, special adviser to President Conde.

He also held a meeting with officers from the different law enforcement agencies of the country, that included Colonel Camara Tregbore, secretary-general of Guinea’s High Crimes Commission.

Addressing the law enforcement officers of the country, Magu charged them on the need for collaboration in the fight against corruption. He also called for anti-corruption sensitisation of Guineans, assuring that language difference between Guineans and Nigerians would not constitute a barrier in the project execution, as EFCC’s staff would be available for translation and interpretation at the EFCC Academy, where the Guinean anti-corruption officials would be trained.

While commending President Conde’s initiative, he said, “The body language of the president is enough message to the people. It shows that corruption will not be tolerated in Guinea.”

While meeting with the delegation of Nigerians in the Diaspora at the Nigerian Embassy in Conakry, Magu enlightened them on the activities of the Commission and further urged them to take advantage of the prevailing conducive business environment in Nigeria and come home and invest in the economy.

Business › Only Technology Will Change The Nigeria Story – Zinox Boss, Ekeh by postbox(op): 7:30pm On Nov 27, 2019
Chairman, Zinox Group, Leo Stan Ekeh, has boldly declared that technology will disrupt several spheres of the Nigerian economy in the next 10 years, claiming that no one has the capacity to stop the coming wave of positive technological disruption. Consequently, he has urged Nigerians and mostly the youths to take advantage of this positive digital disruption and add impetus to the brand Nigeria on the global map.

‘It is now between our competence, our commitment and God to lead other nations of the world. This is a century of quality wealth driven with knowledge and conscience and powered by technology. We have no reason not to scale with over 200m ambitious people from birth,’ he declared.

Ekeh gave this charge in a world-class tech speech delivered at the 2019 Annual Lecture Series of foremost advisory and corporate commercial entity, Alliance Law Firm.

The classy event with the theme – Leveraging Technology to develop and rebrand Nigeria – was held at the prestigious Four Points by Sheraton, Victoria Island, Lagos on Tuesday, November 26th 2019.

In attendance was Chairman of MTN Nigeria, Dr Ernest Ndukwe who chaired the occasion. Also in attendance was a foremost blogger and media entrepreneur, Linda Ikeji; MD/CEO, Ecobank Nigeria, Patrick Akinwutan; former DG/CEO, NOTAP, Engr. Umar Bindir; GMD, Mojec International Holdings, Chantelle Abdul; Deputy CEO, Payment Tokens, Interswitch, Mike Ogbalu, and many CEOs and Senior Managementexecutives from the financial, shipping, technology, legal, entertainment and educational sector, to mention a few.

Ekeh, arguably Africa’s most renowned technology guru, was the Lead Speaker. He described the event as one of the best ever organised in Nigeria in recent times because of the quality and content of the event.

Continuing Ekeh said, already every sector of our economy is experiencing the impact of technology, be it the electoral system, health care delivery, agriculture, banking, transport, education, hospitality, governance, entertainment, housing and including the way businesses are run in Nigeria.

‘Today, Nigeria is moving closer to e-voting. Also, you will observe that post-election litigations have dropped considerably. In fact, we are down by about 41 per cent today. Once we migrate to e-voting fully, anyone who loses an election will have no need to go and contest it in court. This is the power of technology. Technology does not lie. This is why I chose to go into it as a profession, he disclosed.

The serial digital entrepreneur, who spoke extempore, drew extensively from his personal experiences in a speech which attracted a standing ovation. He argued that rebranding Nigeria must begin with critical investments in the nation’s human capital. Ekeh urged Nigeria to borrow a leaf from a country like India which presently accounts for some of the leading brains driving the world’s major tech conglomerates.

‘When I studied for my first degree in India many years ago, I had written a paper titled – India: An economy waiting to happen. I have been proved right today. Although the country experienced serious economic hardship, it did not prevent them from investing in education. You will find that the average Indian holds a PhD in about three different disciplines and maybe a Master’s degree in four disciplines. So, when you employ him, you are getting maybe a Medical Doctor who is sound in Engineering, Agric-Economics, Business Management and more.

‘While they were incubating, they kept on upgrading their citizen’s knowledge base by reducing school fees affordable even to the poorest citizens, waiting for an opportunity. When the ICT opportunity emerged, they took it. If the Indian President recalls all Indian nationals today for a two-week break, the entire world will feel the pain. Indians are at the helms of affairs of the world’s most valuable companies including Microsoft, Google, Apple and many others today.’

Ekeh, himself a global advisor to Microsoft, went on to encourage the audience not to lose faith in Nigeria. He affirmed that things are changing for good.

‘Today, we have a Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy,’ he noted.

Further, he counselled the Federal and state governments to take that decision now to invest about $10bn to provide quality digital infrastructure in Nigerian schools at all levels and finance school fees for indigent students nationwide.

‘When I encounter people who say things are worse today, I just laugh. You must remain positive. Entrepreneurs are known to be positive people. I am an example of the Nigerian miracle but I disciplined myself from day one as someone born in a trust economy. When I returned to this country over 30 years ago, I was worth less than $10,000. Within three months of returning to Nigeria, I was privileged to have met people like General Theophilus Danjuma, the Awolowo family and others who patronised me and in the first six months, I hit over $4.5m balance sheet size.

‘I wouldn’t have achieved this if I had decided to remain in the UK, as I was being advised then by those who saw no future for Nigeria in technology. It is important to note that though my customers did not really understand what they were buying, I did not betray them. This century is a century of trust and those that can not be trusted have no financial capacity to scale.

‘Things are even better today. The current generation of kids is knowledge-driven and technology-powered. They will delete many of the so-called billionaires in Nigeria today within the next few years. That is the era we are currently in.

‘A very good example of this is Konga which is run by my son and his colleagues. A few months after we acquired Konga, Naspers – the previous owners – which invested $32m in TenCent sold off two per cent of its stake for $9.8bn. Today, Naspers’ remaining 28 per cent stake in Tencent is worth $133bn. If the whizkids at Konga choose to put Konga up for sale today, we have an idea how much it will attract. Nigeria with our growing quality population is headed for greatness,’ he submitted.

Ekeh, who disclosed that Nigeria’s wealthy class must re-distribute their wealth or stand the risk of using it to destroy their children, also called for the empowerment of indigent children. According to him, children of poor parents are imbued with a mindset of disruption and greater discipline and fear of God, even as he affirmed that these are the ones that will place Nigeria on the map of globally recognised nations in the very near future.

‘We can not continue to manipulate them for too long,’ he concluded.

The event also witnessed the launch of the Doing Business in Nigeria manual.

Chief Host of the event and Managing Partner, Alliance Law Firm, Uche Val Obi (SAN) affirmed that the publication drew on the firm’s vast advisory experience and their status as notable contributors in the IMF/World Bank Doing Business publications.

Business › Dodging The Recession Bullet – Nigeria Grows At 2.28% by postbox(op): 7:46am On Nov 27, 2019
The Q3 GDP report was released this morning and surprised to the upside with a growth rate of 2.28% from revised growth of 2.12% in Q2’19. While this seems positive, the rate of growth is still way below the ERGP target (4.5%). This is an indication that the economy is in need of more fiscal incentives. The expansion in Q3 GDP can be partly attributed to the government’s anti-smuggling strategy and its positive effect on domestic production. Output growth was further supported by the harvest season and increased activities in the construction sector.

A breakdown of the report showed that most of the interest rate sensitive and employment elastic sectors showed slight improvement. This suggests that various government policies are having a medium-term effect. Of the 19 activities reported, 10 expanded, 5 contracted and 4 slowed.

GDP growth mirrors PMI trend

The purchasing managers’ index (PMI) is a measure of the performance of the manufacturing sector. The index increased to 56.2 points in September from 49.9 points in June. This sector benefitted from the relative stability in the exchange rate. The closure of the land borders also had a positive impact on output. The manufacturing sector was one of the fastest-growing sectors with a growth rate of 1.10%, up from a contraction of 0.13% in Q2’19.

The Nigerian economy is in need of more fiscal incentives

Economic growth is a function of fiscal policy and can only be complemented by monetary policy. While the Q3 GDP numbers showed that the recovery path is sustained, corporate earnings are still suffering. The inability of companies to pass on higher costs to consumers weighed on profitability and revenue growth. Consumer demand was also constrained by low disposable income. The economy needs more fiscal incentives to ensure that growth reaches its potential and full employment levels. Hence, it is expedient that the CBN’s current intervention strategy is supported by more investment-friendly policies in order to attract more foreign investment which is a catalyst for growth. Fiscal policies can, however, be complemented by monetary policy to enhance macroeconomic stability.

Sector Breakdown – 10 sectors expanded, 4 slowed while 5 contracted

An in-depth analysis of the GDP numbers showed that the fastest growing sectors are the interest-rate-sensitive and job-elastic sectors. The Agric, manufacturing and construction sectors expanded by 2.28%, 1.10% and 2.37% respectively. These sectors contribute approximately 40% to GDP and employ more than 30% of the labour force.

The slowing sectors include mining (6.19%) and human health (0.86%). The slow performance in the mining sector was largely due to dwindling oil prices. The average price of oil was $62.03pb in Q3’19, 9.35% lower than the average of $68.43pb in Q2.

The sectors with negative growth include – real estate (-2.31%), trade (-1.45%), and electricity (-11.81%). The trade sector is the first victim of the border closure.

Sub-Saharan Africa – Nigeria is one of the growing countries

Nigeria is one of the growing economies in Sub-Saharan Africa. Of the 11 SSA countries under our review, only Zambia increased monetary policy rate at its last MPC meeting. This is premised on the need to restore macroeconomic stability. With the monetary policy rates unchanged, the data confirms that fiscal incentives are critical in spurring economic growth.

Outlook

Consumer spending usually increases in the fourth quarter of the year due to festivities. This alongside the minimum wage implementation is expected to boost aggregate demand. Hence, we expect Q4 GDP growth to come in higher at 2.3%. At this rate, the average growth in 2019 will be 2.2%. This is inadequate to make a dent on the rising unemployment (estimated at 30%) or an impact on the lives of the average citizen. Hence, more fiscal incentives and investment-friendly policies are required to boost economic activities and attract foreign investment.

Politics › Kaduna Flyover To Be Pulled Down For A Better One – KADRA Boss by postbox(op): 10:29am On Nov 26, 2019
The Managing Director of Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA), Engr Mohammed Lawal Magaji, has promised that the new Kawo flyover will be pulled down to make way for the construction of a better one.

The Managing Director said the base of the flyover is still strong hence only the top part will be pulled down and reworked completely.

Engr Magaji, who was speaking to stakeholders at a community engagement programme over the weekend, said the present flyover in Kawo is too narrow to accommodate the volume of traffic that passes through it.

He further said that additional roads and three roundabouts will be constructed apart from the flyover and assured commuters and drivers that alternate roads will be provided which will ease traffic congestion during the 20-month construction period.

‘’A U-turn will be constructed at the last bus stop so that vehicles don’t need to go to the bridge site before turning. Lafiya road will be the alternative road for Kawo residents who want to go to town. This will reduce traffic pressure at the construction site,’’ he explained.

He said compensation will be given to all those whose property will be affected by the project, provided they have valid documents.

Speaking at the occasion, Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s Political Adviser, Mr Ben Kure, pleaded with the people of Kaduna state to be patient with the inconveniences that they will experience during the construction of the flyover.

He said the contractors ‘’have already mobilised to the site on Friday, after winning the bid on Thursday,’’ adding that the Kaduna Urban Renewal Project “will change the face of the state in the next few years.’’

The District Head of Kawo, Alhaji Jibrin Magaji, on his part said it is the lack of community engagements with relevant stakeholders that brought about the shoddy implementation of projects in the past.

He thanked Governor El-Rufai for initiating the new Kawo flyover project, adding that the project is not just for the people of Kawo District but it will serve the entire north because it is a major gateway to the region.

Phones › 5G Subscriptions To Top 2.6 Billion By End Of 2025 by postbox(op): 2:34pm On Nov 25, 2019
* 5G to cover up to 65 percent of the world’s population by the end of 2025 and handle45 percent of global mobile data traffic.

* Smartphone users to consume a global average of 24 GB per month in 2025from 7.2 GB currently, as video usage increases and new services become available.

* Total number of cellular IoT connections estimated at five billion by the end of 2025, from 1.3 billion by the end of 2019.

Ericsson expects the global number of 5G subscriptions to top 2.6 billion within the next six years, driven by sustained momentum and a rapidly developing 5G ecosystem. The forecast is included in the November 2019 edition of the Ericson Mobility Report, alongside a range of other forecasts with an end of 2025 timeline and communications service provider insights.

Average monthly data-traffic-per-smartphone is forecast to increase from the current figure of 7.2 GB to 24 GB by the end of 2025, in part driven by new consumer behaviour, such as Virtual Reality (VR) streaming. With 7.2 GB per month, one can stream 21 minutes of HD video (1280 x 720) daily, while 24 GB would allow streaming 30 minutes of HD video with an additional six minutes of VR each day.

The report also projects that 5G will cover up to 65 percent of the global population by the end of 2025 and handle45 percent of global mobile data traffic.

2019 is the year leading communications service providers in Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America switched on their 5G networks. South Korea has already has seen a big 5G uptake since its April 2019 launch. More than three million subscriptions were collectively recorded by the country’s service providers by the end of September 2019.

China’s launch of 5G in late October has also led to an update of the estimated 5G subscriptions for the end of 2019, from 10 million to 13 million.

Fredrik Jejdling, Executive Vice President and Head of Networks, Ericsson, says: “It is encouraging to see that 5G now has broad support from almost all device makers. In 2020, 5G-compatible devices will enter the volume market, which will scale up 5G adoption. The question is no longer if, but how quickly we can convert use cases into relevant applications for consumers and enterprises. With 4G remaining a strong connectivity enabler in many parts of the world, modernizing networks is also key to this technological change we’re going through.”

Given its current momentum, 5G subscription uptake is expected to be significantly faster than that of LTE. The most rapid uptake is expected in North America with 74 percent of mobile subscriptions in the region forecast to be 5G by the end of 2025. North-East Asia is expected to follow at 56 percent, with Europe at 55 percent.

Other forecasts include a total number of cellular IoT connections now seen five billion by the end of 2025 from 1.3 billion by end 2019 – a compound annual growth rate of 25 percent. NB-IoT and Cat-M technologies are estimated to account for 52 percent of these cellular IoT connections in 2025.

Year-on-year traffic growth for the third quarter of 2019 was high at 68 percent, driven by the growing number of smartphone subscriptions in India, the increased monthly data traffic per smartphone in China, better device capabilities, an increase in data-intensive content, and more affordable data plans.

Customer insights shared in collaborative feature articles

In a collaborative article written with SK Telecom, the report takes a detailed look at how the South Korean service provider is applying a 5G cluster deployment strategy centred around providing a premium 5G network experience and innovative services to customers in selected geographical locations.

Another article, co-authored with the MTN Group, examines how the South African-based service provider’s focus on user experience and customer loyalty has resulted in measurable network improvements and commercial gains in Rwanda and Ghana.

The report also takes an in-depth look at service providers’ tariff plans, revealing that most service providers who have launched 5G have priced 5G packages about 20 percent higher than their nearest available 4G offering. Lastly, there is an article describing how automotive IoT meets different use case requirements of automotive and transport applications.

Business › Uber Stripped Of Licence To Operate In London By TfL by postbox(op): 12:56pm On Nov 25, 2019
Transport for London (TfL) ruled the ride-hailing app does not meet the “fit and proper” requirements for private hire operators and so is not extending its licence beyond midnight tonight.

A spokesman for the transport body said “several breaches that placed passengers and their safety at risk” were identified.

Uber said the decision was “extraordinary and wrong” and said it would be appealing.

The ride-hailing app firm’s existing licence expires at 11.59 pm on Monday but it will be allowed to continue to operate pending the appeal.

It is the latest development in a two-year battle between TfL and the company over its operation in the capital.

TfL had refused to give Uber a five-year licence in September 2017 due to safety and security concerns. But in June 2018 a judge granted it a 15-month licence.

In September this year, TfL gave the company a two-month extension to its licence.

Helen Chapman, director of licensing, regulation and charging at TfL, said: “Safety is our absolute top priority. While we recognise Uber has made improvements, it is unacceptable that Uber has allowed passengers to get into minicabs with drivers who are potentially unlicensed and uninsured.

“It is clearly concerning that these issues arose, but it is also concerning that we cannot be confident that similar issues won’t happen again in future.

“If they choose to appeal, Uber will have the opportunity to publicly demonstrate to a magistrate whether it has put in place sufficient measures to ensure potential safety risks to passengers are eliminated. If they do appeal, Uber can continue to operate and we will closely scrutinise the company to ensure the management has robust controls in place to ensure safety is not compromised during any changes to the app.”

Responding to TfL’s decision Jamie Heywood, Regional General Manager for Northern & Eastern Europe, said: “TfL’s decision not to renew Uber’s licence in London is extraordinary and wrong, and we will appeal.

“We have fundamentally changed our business over the last two years and are setting the standard on safety. TfL found us to be a fit and proper operator just two months ago, and we continue to go above and beyond.

“On behalf of the 3.5 million riders and 45,000 licensed drivers who depend on Uber in London, we will continue to operate as normal and will do everything we can to work with TfL to resolve this situation.”

London Mayor Sadiq Khan said: “I support the decision by TfL’s licensing officials today in relation to Uber and completely understand why the decision was taken. Keeping Londoners safe is my absolute number-one priority, and TfL has identified a pattern of failure by Uber that has directly put passengers’ safety at risk.

“Only in the last few months, it has been established that 14,000 Uber journeys have involved fraudulent drivers uploading their photos to other driver accounts – with passengers’ safety potentially put at risk getting into cars with unlicensed and suspended drivers. At this stage, TfL can’t be confident that Uber has robust processes in place to prevent another serious safety breach in the future.

“I know this decision may be unpopular with Uber users but their safety is the paramount concern.”

Business › Berger Paints To Launch N2 Billion Automated Water-based Plant by postbox(op): 10:27am On Nov 25, 2019
The Management of Berger Paints PLC has said that it is in the final stage of factory acceptance testing to its N2 billion automated water-based paint factory which the manufacturers will handover in December.

Chairman of the company, Mr Abi Ayida made the disclosure in Abuja when he led members of the Board and Management team on a courtesy visit to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Richard Adeniyi Adebayo.

He told the minister that the plant which represents a N2 billion investment would help create jobs for Nigerians, strengthen the Naira and sustain the local paint market. The Chairman described the project to be formally commissioned in Q1 2020 by Adebayo as first of its kind in Sub-Sahara Africa, as it conforms to international standards.

He said the new fully automated factory is expected to activate the industrialization era of the paint sector in Nigeria as this will be the trend going forward.”

Ayida, however, called for improved access to forex for raw materials, which according to him account for about 80 per cent of the industry’s inputs.

In his remark, the Minister appreciated the visit of the team and pledged the Federal Government’s support for its investment drives.

“One of my mandates here following my appointment by President Mohammadu Buhari is to support private sector industrial growth. We are proud of what your Management is doing and we are ready to support you. I am not unaware of some of the challenges facing the paint industry in Nigeria. But we are working round the clock to address them,” he said.

The Minister noted that to create jobs, eradicate and take 10 million Nigerians out of poverty, the federal government must focus on industrialisation and agriculture.

The Company which has 100 per cent indigenous ownership commenced operations in Nigeria in January 1959.

Health › How To Prevent Stretch Marks by postbox(op): 2:57pm On Nov 20, 2019
Stretch marks can occur for a number of reasons, including pregnancy and rapid weight loss or gain. They are also famously hard to get rid of, so the best idea here is to prevent stretch marks from appearing. Here are some helpful methods on how to minimize the risk of developing stretch marks.

Maintain Your Weight
How To Prevent Stretch Marks
One of the most common reasons for stretch marks to appear is when you quickly gain a lot of weight. However, the opposite, when you lose weight fast and develop stretch marks, is also a possibility. That is why you need to try your hardest to either maintain your weight at a steady level or, at least, avoid rapid changes in your weight. Whether you want to lose or put on some weight, it’s best to do it slowly.

Moisturize Your Skin

One of the most important things you can do for preventing stretch marks is to make sure your skin is always properly moisturized. You can use your regular lotion, your favourite skin oil or butter, or use a heavy-duty moisturizing product designed specifically for deeply hydrating the skin to prevent stretch marks.

Exercise Regularly

Whether you are currently pregnant or not, exercising is an essential step for avoiding the formation of stretch marks. Regular workouts improve your body’s blood flow, which, in turns, enhances your skin’s elasticity. The more elastic your skin is, the less likely you are to notice stretch marks appearing on your skin.

Drink Plenty Of Liquid
How To Prevent Stretch Marks
Moisturizing your skin from the outside is important for preventing stretch marks, but it’s also essential to keep your whole body hydrated. When your skin is supple, stretch marks are less likely to appear. However, not all kinds of the liquid count toward hydration. Water and herbal teas are both good options, while coffee and other caffeinated beverages can actually increase your chance of developing stretch marks.

Eat Omega-3 Rich Foods
How To Prevent Stretch Marks
The omega-3 fatty acid is one of the most powerful agents preventing stretch marks in your skin. It makes your skin more supple and elastic, helping you avoid permanent damage. To get more omega-3 in your meals, make sure to eat plenty of cold-water fish, nuts, chia seeds, and soybeans.

Go For Vitamin D
How To Prevent Stretch Marks
Vitamin D is one of the best friends for your skin when you are trying to avoid stretch marks. And while sunbathing is an effective way to supply your skin with vitamin D, it can also do more harm than good to your skin. Instead, you can add a vitamin D supplement to your diet or simply eat more seafood, eggs, and mushrooms, which are all high in vitamin D.

Take Immediate Care Of Stretch Marks
While the methods we described above have proven to be very effective against stretch marks, there is still always a risk a stretch marks appearing when your body is going through any transformation. However, new stretch marks don’t need to become permanent!

The key here is to not ignore your new stretch marks and instead take action as soon as possible. You can use a specialized product for stretch marks, or a skin butter, oil, or lotion. Treat your stretch marks regularly, and you will notice them getting less and less noticeable within weeks.

Phones › How Whatsapp Groups Support Nigeria’s Nurse Graduates by postbox(op): 9:49am On Nov 20, 2019
Around 12,000 students are enrolled in Nigeria’s nursing schools each year. As it is in many health professions, these students often find it challenging after graduation when they search for and start their first job. They feel unprepared and have difficulties to put their knowledge from school into practice.

In addition, many feel unwelcome in their teams, which results in a sense of professional isolation and high drop-out rates. Yet, new graduates stand to gain a lot if they engage in networking groups. These are known to be effective in creating a support system for young graduates, finding jobs, sharing knowledge and resources, and making connections.

WhatsApp, a mobile instant messaging platform, is a potential platform for professional networking which has seen recent remarkable expansion in Nigeria and other African countries. The reasons for this development are the increased availability of smartphones and the relatively low costs of data in Nigeria.

The platform can also be used easily without much technical knowledge and the connective features of the app enable up to 256 users to exchange text, emoticons, pictures, video, and audio messages.

These developments have created unprecedented opportunities for health professionals to share clinical information and professional experiences. It also helps them stay connected with each other after graduation.

The availability of this technology and lack of existing structures for professional networking among young nursing graduates have presented an opportunity to show how WhatsApp can be used to address this need among recent graduates of schools of nursing in Nigeria.

The research
Our research was part of a larger initiative that examined the use of social and mobile media in health professional contexts. It was funded by the Swiss Programme for Research on Global Issues for Development.

We randomised five schools with new nurse graduates in Oyo state, Nigeria, into two groups. In the first group, 77 graduates from three schools participated in three moderated WhatsApp groups. A further 37 graduates from the two other schools served as the control group, which didn’t engage in the moderated WhatsApp activities.

The two groups were comparable, as they had no significant differences on age, sex and the place of post-qualification practice.

The project team developed a script to guide moderators (group admins) whose responsibilities are to post messages, encourage full participation, respond to questions, and apply ground rules, in the facilitation and moderation of the group chat. The moderators have experienced nurses who shared clinical knowledge and stimulated professional discussions in the WhatsApp-based “online classrooms” for 6 months, December 2016 to May 2017.

knowledge quiz “fastest finger” was aimed at stimulating the participants’ engagement. The first person who correctly responded to the moderator’s weekly question received a small amount of airtime. The moderators also rewarded the most active participants in every month with airtime.

Participants didn’t receive any other financial compensation; instead, they used their own data bundles. At the end of the intervention, both groups completed an online survey that included knowledge tests. In addition, some participants from the WhatsApp groups took part in focus group discussions.

We found that participants in the moderated WhatsApp groups were more knowledgeable regarding the clinical topics discussed in the group chat and they expressed fewer feelings of professional isolation than their counterparts who didn’t take part in the moderated group chat. Similarly, those who engaged actively in the WhatsApp groups had more knowledge, experienced less isolation and showed higher levels of professional identification.

The positive quantitative results were affirmed in the focus group discussion. Group discussants said that they learned from the interactions on WhatsApp and that they gained new knowledge about clinical topics:

I GAINED A LOT. IT ALSO MADE ME LEARN EVEN THOUGH I WASN’T READING TEXTBOOKS.
IT CONNECTS US AS IF WE ARE STILL IN SCHOOL.

In addition, some participants said they got jobs through adverts that the moderators posted in the chats.

The findings provide evidence that moderated WhatsApp groups can be a source of learning. In addition, they permit togetherness of geographically distant professionals.

The experience of isolation and a lack of knowledge are two very common issues that many health professionals encounter when they start their first job after graduation. The research points to the potential of instant messaging, which offers unique connective features, but is still an underused source of mobile learning in Nigeria.

Going forward
Health professional bodies may use the connective features of mobile instant messaging platforms to provide support for new graduates during their first few months of practice. Training institutions can also use these platforms to promote alumni activities that can enhance the development of the institutions.

The increasing use of WhatsApp by health professionals in Nigeria and elsewhere carries, however, considerable risks that also need to be considered. These include issues like the protection of privacy of both the health care provider and the patient and circulation of incorrect information.

To address these problems, health professionals need to be trained on how to use social media apps responsibly and professionally. This kind of training and skills development should be included in pre-service and in-service education curricula.

Regulating agencies, such as the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, also need to develop new or adapt existing guidelines on professional usage of mobile phones and social media.

Car Talk › Toyota Revs Up Lineup With New 302-horsepower RAV4 Prime (photos) by postbox(op): 9:35am On Nov 20, 2019
*The Most Powerful and Quickest RAV4 Ever

*The Most Fuel-Efficient RAV4 Ever

*Projected 0-60 MPH in 5.8 Seconds and Estimated 90 MPGe

*Available in SE and XSE Model Grades

*Available Color Head-Up Display, a RAV4 First

*Premium Design Features

*New for Model Year 2021 and Available in Summer 2020

LOS ANGELES (Nov. 20, 2019) – The fifth-generation Toyota RAV4, on the market for barely a year, is going more places than it has ever gone before. The arrival of the first-ever RAV4 TRD Off-Road model was announced earlier this year, and today, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Toyota debuts a new premium, fun-to-drive RAV4 performance model with an estimated 302-horsepower, advanced all-wheel drive, sport-tuned suspension and exclusive design features.

It just happens to also be the first-ever RAV4 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). And so, in addition to an ability to do 0-60 mph in a projected 5.8 seconds, which is the second quickest acceleration time in the Toyota lineup, it can drive an estimated 39 miles on battery alone on a single charge, which is the highest EV range of any PHEV SUV on the market. The RAV4 Prime also has a manufacturer-estimated 90 combined MPGe. Welcome to a new chapter of Toyota SUV performance.

The Toyota RAV4 Prime, a 2021 model that will arrive in summer 2020, breaks ground as the most powerful and quickest RAV4 ever while also being the most fuel-efficient.

The 2021 RAV4 Prime will be available in SE and XSE grades, both emphasizing athletic on-road performance and premium comfort and style. With its plug-in hybrid technology advancing, Toyota sees such vehicles as critical to an overall electrification strategy that will also include standard hybrids and battery electric vehicles (BEVs), along with fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) like the second-generation Mirai unveiled in October.

Think Faster

The Toyota RAV4 Prime builds on the RAV4 Hybrid, which is currently the most powerful and most fuel-efficient model in the line with sales up 72% over last year and currently the best-selling hybrid vehicle on the market. The RAV4 Prime amplifies both performance and efficiency, reflecting Toyota’s 20+ years of hybrid vehicle leadership.

With more powerful motor-generators, a newly developed high-capacity Lithium-Ion battery and a booster converter, the 2021 RAV4 Prime yields an 83-horsepower (hp) jump in total system output over the RAV4 Hybrid and has the most horsepower in its segment. The resulting boost in performance is striking: Toyota projects 0-60 mph acceleration in 5.8 seconds which is quicker than the RAV4 Hybrid (7.8 sec.) and in a league with luxury/performance SUVs that come nowhere near this Toyota’s remarkable fuel economy. And, notably, the RAV4 Prime uses regular-grade gasoline — just not much of it.

A comparison with an older RAV4 offers a vivid illustration of the march of technology. The 2006-2012 RAV4 offered an optional 269-hp, 3.5-liter gas V6 engine that reached 0-60 mph in 6.3-seconds, which is a half-second slower than the RAV4 Prime. And, that model’s 21 combined MPG fuel economy rating simply pales in comparison.

Sporty and Sportier

Toyota engineered the 2021 RAV4 Prime for the performance-oriented driver and is, therefore, offering it in the sporty SE and XSE grades. The SE grade is new for the RAV4 Prime, and the XSE is currently exclusive to the RAV4 Hybrid. The SE flaunts its sporty attitude with 18-in. painted and machined alloy wheels and exclusive front grille design and front lower spoiler. Piano black exterior accents and a painted grille/diffuser complete the premium look.

The SE’s equipment is quite comprehensive, with standard heated front seats, 8-way power driver’s seat with lumbar adjustment, 7-in. Multi-Information Display, Blind Spot Monitor, a leather steering wheel and shift knob with red stitching, a power liftgate, and Audio with 8-in. the touch-screen and Amazon Alexa, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The available Weather & Moonroof Package lets in the sun, moon and stars while keeping the cold at bay with a heated steering wheel, heated rear outboard seats, and windshield wiper de-icer, while rain-sensing windshield wipers add to the convenience.

As on the current RAV4 Hybrid XSE, the Prime version of this grade stands apart with a two-tone exterior paint scheme pairing a black roof with select colours, including the striking new-to-RAV4 Supersonic Red. Exclusive 19-in. alloy wheels, the largest ever offered on a hybrid RAV4, have a unique two-tone design. Vertical LED accent lights give the XSE a distinct look, while the optional Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) with headlamp auto-levelling partially aims the beams into turns as the driver steers.

Inside, XSE steps up the sport, luxury and tech with RAV4’s first-ever paddle shifters, along with moonroof, unique SofTex synthetic leather seat surfaces, wireless smartphone charging, ambient lighting, auto-dimming rearview mirror with integrated garage door opener and the largest multimedia screen in any RAV4 ever. The standard Audio Plus system comes with a 9-in. the touch-screen and there is an available Premium Audio that includes Dynamic Navigation and JBL speaker system.

An available Premium Package pushes the RAV4 Prime XSE further with Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation and JBL speakers, perforated and ventilated SofTex front seats, RAV4’s first head-up display, heated rear SofTex outboard seats, heated steering wheel, panoramic moonroof, digital rear-view mirror, memory driver’s seat, 4-way power passenger seat, 5-door SmartKey system, kick-type power rear liftgate, Bird’s Eye View Monitor and yes, more.

How Does It Do That?

Toyota hybrids have for years demonstrated high performance with low fuel consumption, and now the 2021 RAV4 Prime makes one of the strongest cases yet. The RAV4 Prime uses a differently tuned version of the RAV4 Hybrid’s 2.5-litre four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle gas engine. It produces the same projected 176 hp as in the hybrid but paired with the electric motors, total system output equals 302 horsepower.

The RAV4 Prime’s passenger space isn’t compromised by the larger Lithium-Ion battery, as it is mounted under the floor. The mounting position also gives the RAV4 Prime a low centre of gravity and enhanced driving stability.

The RAV4 Prime’s enhanced heat pump HVAC system, based on Prius Prime’s and tailored to fit RAV4 Prime, contributes to an increasing EV range, as energy consumption for cabin temperature control can significantly decrease EV driving range.

Electrified Traction

The RAV4 Prime employs the same version of Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) as the RAV4 Hybrid. In both models, a separate rear-mounted electric motor powers the rear wheels when needed, including proactively on acceleration startup and also in reduced-traction conditions.

The AWD system also reduces understeer during cornering for enhanced steering stability. Off-pavement, AWD enhances hill-climbing performance. A driver-selectable Trail mode makes it possible to get unstuck by braking a spinning wheel and sending torque to the grounding wheel.

With available paddle shifters, the driver can “downshift” to increase the regenerative braking in steps, which fosters greater control when driving in hilly areas, for example.

As on the RAV4 Hybrid, the innovative Predictive Efficient Drive feature acts like an invisible “hyper-miler” co-driver. Using the available navigation system, Predictive Efficient Drive essentially reads the road and learns driver patterns to optimize hybrid battery charging and discharging operations based on driving conditions. The system accumulates data as the vehicle is driven and “remembers” road features such as hills and stoplights and adjusts the hybrid powertrain operation to maximize efficiency.

All Toyota RAV4 models come equipped with standard Toyota Safety Sense (TSS 2.0), which groups a long roster of active-safety technologies and capabilities:

Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD)
Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)
Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA)
Automatic High Beam (AHB)
Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)
Road Sign Assist (RSA)

The XSE Premium Package adds Rear Cross-Traffic Braking (RCTB) and Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automated Braking (PA w/AB).

Starting with the 2020 model year, every Toyota Hybrid Battery Warranty has been increased from 8 years or 100,000 miles to 10 years from the original date of first use, or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Health › International Men’s Day 2019: Let’s Talk About Male Breast Cancer by postbox(op): 9:08am On Nov 19, 2019
Launched in 1992, International Men’s Day is celebrated on 19 November every year. And it isn’t just a day to celebrate the men in your life – no, it’s a day dedicated to spreading awareness about men’s issues. And while most of these conversations are aimed at mental health, we thought there was another issue that also needed some attention.

Male breast cancer
Yes, while it is rare, breast cancer can occur in men as well. It makes up less than 1.5% of all breast cancer cases in India. Just like every other cancer, those diagnosed at an earlier stage have a much better likelihood of survival.

Risk factors of male breast cancer
It is not well understood what causes male breast cancer but older men, mostly those over 60 years of age, are more likely to be affected by it.

Those with a strong family history of the disease are also more at risk since the mutated gene BRCA2 that has been linked to breast cancer is passed down by parents to their children. Estrogen-related drugs that work by increasing the amount of estrogen in the body, obesity, testicular disease or surgery can also increase the chances of getting the disease. Klinefelter syndrome, a genetic condition in which boys are born with an extra X chromosome (XXY instead of XY) and may cause lower production of testosterone, is also strongly associated with the disease.

This suggests that largely hormonal and genetic pathways are responsible for the condition.

Types of male breast cancer
Boys are born with some breast tissue, same as women. Male breast tissue has ducts (tubes that carry milk to the nipples) but very few lobules (milk-producing glands). During puberty, the hormones produced in a girl’s body promote the growth of the breast tissue. Since boys have very low levels of estrogen, even as adults, their breast tissue doesn’t grow a lot.

The most common form of male breast cancer is ductal carcinoma. As men have fewer lobules, there is a lower chance of developing lobular carcinoma. Other types of cancers that can be found in men include Paget disease and inflammatory breast cancer.

Symptoms may include a painless lump or thickness in the breast tissue, changes to skin around the breast, such as dimpling, redness or scaling, a nipple that appears inverted, and discharge (sometimes bloody) from the nipple. If you experience any of these symptoms, it is a good idea to consult your doctor.

Diagnosis and interventions
Your doctor will conduct a clinical breast exam and check for lumps or other changes. They may order imaging tests such as mammography or may conduct a biopsy to ascertain the pathology of the lumps if any. If there is a malignant growth, your doctor may wish to investigate the grade and spread of cancer and request a bone, CT, or PET scan.

Treatment will depend on the type of cancer that is found. In cases where the disease has advanced significantly, a mastectomy or excision of the breast may be required followed by radiation or chemotherapy. In some cases, systemic hormonal treatment with Tamoxifen (which lowers the production of estrogen and related hormones) may be recommended post-surgery.

Studies on male breast cancer
Very limited studies have been conducted on male breast cancer. However, meta-analyses have shown that the likelihood of survival is similar in females and males. However, diagnosis is often delayed in males which leads to a higher mortality rate. This is significant because people diagnosed at the earliest stages (0 and 1) have a five-year survival rate of 100%. On the other hand, those diagnosed at stage 4, when cancer has metastasised, have been shown to have a 25% rate of survival over the next five years.

Even though it is rare, male breast cancer is a deadly disease if not diagnosed in time. Further research on it will shed more light on how and why it happens, the diagnoses and treatment options. A lack of awareness about the disease has been cited as a major reason for late diagnosis (if you feel there’s something amiss in your chest tissue, consult your doctor immediately).

On a year on year basis, the composite food index rose by 14.09 percent in October 2019 compared to 13.51 percent in September 2019.

This rise in the food index was caused by increases in prices of Meat, Oils and fats, Bread and cereals, Potatoes, yam and other tubers, Fish and Vegetables.

On a month-on-month basis, the food sub-index increased by 1.33 percent in October 2019, up by 0.03 percentage points from 1.30 percent recorded in September 2019.

The average annual rate of change of the Food sub-index for the twelve-month period ending October 2019 over the previous twelve-month average was 13.54 percent, equivalent to 0.07 percentage points higher than the average annual rate of change recorded in September 2019 (13.47 percent).

All Items Less Farm Produce

The “All items less farm produce” or Core inflation rate, which excludes the prices of volatile agricultural produce stood at 8.88 percent in October 2019 on a year-on-year basis, slower by -0.07 percentage points when compared with 8.94 percent recorded in September 2019.

On a month-on-month basis, the core sub-index increased by 0.74 percent in October 2019, or -0.15 percentage points slower than the rate recorded in September 2019 (0.89 percent).

The highest increases were recorded in prices of Cleaning, Repair and hire of clothing, Hospital services, Major household appliances, Repair of household appliance, Glassware, tableware and household utensils, and Garments.

The average 12-month annual rate of change of the index was 9.25 percent for the twelve-month period ending October 2019; this is -0.08 percentage points lower than 9.34 percent recorded in September 2019.

State Profiles

In analysing price movements under this section, note that the CPI is weighted by consumption expenditure patterns which differ across states. Accordingly, the weight assigned to a particular food or non-food item may differ from state to state making direct interstate comparisons of consumption baskets potentially misleading and inadvisable.

All Items Inflation

In October 2019, all items inflation rate, on year on year basis was highest in Kebbi (15.20%), Bauchi (13.97%) and Ondo (13.74%), while Kwara (9.69%), Katsina (9.29%) and Bayelsa (9.07%) recorded the slowest rise in headline year on year inflation rate.

On month on month basis however, October 2019 All items inflation rate was highest in Benue (2.20%), Bauchi (1.87%) and Cross River (1.80%). Anambra recorded the slowest rise at 0.28%, while Bayelsa and Ebonyi saw a decline in the headline month on month index by -0.13% and -0.35% respectively.

Food Inflation

In October 2019, food inflation rate on a year on year basis was highest in Kebbi (17.53%), Ondo (17.01%) and Ogun (17.00%), while Kogi (12.12%), Katsina (11.18%) and Bayelsa (9.55%) recorded the slowest rise.

On month on month basis, however, October 2019 food inflation rate was highest in Oyo (2.56%), Osun (2.52%) and Lagos (2.05%) while Enugu (0.24%) and Abuja (0.14%) saw the slowest increases in a month on month food inflation rate. Bayelsa, at -0.35%, recorded price deflation or negative inflation (that is, a decrease in the general price level of food or a negative food inflation rate).

Business › Global Debt Hits Record $250.9T, Projected To Hit $255T By Year’s End by postbox(op): 9:59am On Nov 17, 2019
*Global debt surged by $7.5 trillion in H1 2019, hitting a new record of over $250 trillion. With no sign of a slowdown, we expect the global debt load to exceed $255 trillion in 2019—largely driven by the U.S. and China.

*EM debt topped $71.4 trillion in Q2 2019, reaching a fresh record of 220% of GDP; state-owned enterprises account for over half of all EM non-financial corporate debt. EM bonds now comprise over 47% of total EM debt outside the household sector-up from 43% in 2009. Spurred by low global rates, FX debt is on the rise again across emerging markets.

*Lack of transparency could exacerbate risks for some vulnerable sovereign borrowers. Heavy debt burdens may also weigh on efforts to mitigate climate change—a significant source of concern particularly for some EMs and low-income countries.

*Some $9.4 trillion of EM bonds/syndicated loans come due through end-2021, highlighting upcoming refinancing risks.

The report, released by the International Institute of Finance (IIF) on Thursday, showed that global debt surged by $7.5 trillion in the first six months of 2019. The IIF said the overall number hit $250.9 trillion at the end of this period and will exceed $255 trillion by the end of 2019.

Global debt on track to exceed $255 trillion in 2019: Spurred by looser financial conditions, the ballooning global debt load increased by $7.5 trillion in H1 2019—and now hovers near a new record of over $250 trillion (320% of GDP). China and the U.S. accounted for over 60% of the increase. Similarly, EM debt also hit a new record of $71.4 trillion (220% of GDP). With few signs of a slowdown in the pace of debt accumulation.

Debt outside the financial sector hits $190 trillion: With non-financial sector debt rising faster than global economic activity, the world’s debt pile (ex-financials) now tops 240% of GDP (or $190 trillion). Across sectors, government debt (+1.5%pts) saw the biggest rise in H119, followed by non-financial corporates (+1%pt). We estimate that global government debt will top $70trn in 2019, up from $65.7trn in 2018—driven mainly by the surge in U.S. federal debt. With net borrowing by the Chinese corporate sector on the rise again, we expect global non-financial corporate debt to rise by 6% to over $75 trillion this year.

Watch out for contingent liabilities: The big increase in global debt over the past decade—over $70 trillion—has been driven mainly by governments and the non-financial corporate sector (each up by some $27 trillion). For mature markets, the rise has mainly been in general government debt (up $17 trillion to over $52 trillion). However, for emerging markets, the bulk of the rise has been in non-financial corporate debt (up $20 trillion to over $30 trillion). Moreover, available data suggest that state-owned enterprises (SOEs) now account for over half of EM non-financial corporate debt—meaning that sovereign-related borrowing has been the single most important driver of global
debt over the past decade. This trend also highlights the challenges many EM governments are likely to face in managing contingent liabilities related to SOE borrowing (see for example our recent note on South Africa).

Limits to debt-fueled growth: With over 60% of the world’s countries expected to see below-potential growth in 2020, accommodative central bank policy allows both corporates and sovereigns to borrow and refinance at low rates. However, with diminishing scope for further monetary easing in many parts of the world, countries with high levels of government debt (Italy, Lebanon)—as well as those where government debt is growing rapidly (Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, and Greece)—may find it harder to turn to fiscal
stimulus. Moreover, investor appetite for funding the corporate sector in high-debt countries is sensitive to shifts in global risk sentiment; if this appetite wanes, it could weigh on CAPEX and new job creation. With FX debt in EMs at record highs (Chart 2), greater reliance on FX borrowing in some countries (Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Mexico, Chile)
could exacerbate the risks if growth slows further

Business › Nestle Nigeria Plc Resilient Amid Challenging Operating Environment by postbox(op): 9:16am On Nov 17, 2019
Nestle Nigeria Plc reported a topline growth of 4% from N203.14bn in 9M 2018 to N211.35bn in 9M 2019. YoY, cost of sales declined by 2%, while operating profit increased by 16% notwithstanding the higher operating expenses for the period. Profit before tax (PBT) grew YoY by 18%, while profit after tax (PAT) increased YoY by 11% to N36.84bn (9M 2018: N33.12bn) on the back of higher effective tax rate. Management declared an interim dividend of N25.00k (9M 2018: N20.00k).

Sustained topline growth amid pressured consumers’ wallet

Nestle continues to impress, though at a slower pace in driving revenue growth despite the challenging operating environment amid pressured consumers’ wallet. In its 9M 2019  report, revenue grew by 4% to N211.35bn in 9M 2019, driven by a 2% and 7% growth in the food and beverage segment of the business. Revenue from the food segment grew  YoY from N129.07bn to N131.80bn in 9M 2019, while revenue from beverage segment advanced from N74.07bn to N79.55bn in 9M 2019. We attribute this growth to brand loyalty and continued proactive stance by management in meeting the changing taste and needs of consumers by way of new product launch and innovative packaging.

On the other hand, while revenue grew, the group continue to optimize its production expense as evidenced by the YoY decline in cost of sales. Expressly, cost of sales declined  YoY by 2% from N116.98bn to N115.03bn in 9M 2019. Quarter-on-quarter (QoQ), it increased at a faster pace to revenue. While revenue grew QoQ by 3% to N69.44bn in Q3  2019, cost of sales rose faster by 5% to N39.21bn in Q3 2019, eroding the gains in production cost margin by 100bps from 53% in H1 2019 to 54% in 9M 2019. Though no disclosure notes for the cost of sales in the 9M report, we believe that the YoY decline was due to local input cost substitution. The group has successfully introduced the use of locally produced items such as soya bean, maize, cocoa, palm olein and sorghum in its products.  As a result, gross profit grew YoY by 12% from N86.15bn to N96.31bn in 9M 2019.

Higher operating expenses cushioned by lower net finance cost

The group’s operating expenses increased YoY by 7% from N36.79bn to N39.26bn in 9M  2019, driven by higher marketing and distribution expenses for the period. Marketing and distribution expenses grew YoY by 9% from N29.74bn to N32.31bn in 9M 2019, a reflection of competition as the group drive marketing and promotional activities to retain market share. Supported by a 1% decrease in administrative expenses, operating profit YoY grew from N49.36bn to N57.05bn in 9M 2019.

On the strength of a 61% decline in net finance cost from N1.27bn to N496mn in 9M 2019,  PBT grew by 18% to print N56.55bn in 9M 2019 (9M 2018: N48.09bn).

Recommendation

We applaud management for consistent topline growth, albeit, at a slower pace amid the challenging operating environment. We expect the group’s goodwill, marketing and promotional activities to continue to support revenue growth. Also, we expect the group’s cost optimization drive to continue to support bottom-line.

Overall, we have a revised EPS of N63.55k and a fair value estimate of N1,088.41k on the stock. At the market price of N1,150.00k, the stock is trading at 5% premium to our fair value estimate. Thus, we revised our recommendation on the stock to a HOLD.

Car Talk › Toyota Introduces New Camry And Avalon All-wheel Drive Sedans (photos) by postbox(op): 12:58pm On Nov 16, 2019
*Developed and Assembled in the U.S. Exclusively for North America

*Available as Stand-Alone Option on Most Model Grades

*Exemplary Fuel Efficiency with 202-Horsepower Engine

*Shared TNGA Technology from RAV4

With winter about to spread its icy grip too much of the United States, Toyota is introducing the new all-wheel-drive Camry and Avalon models to help drivers get a better grip on the road. It’s the first AWD Camry since 1991, and the first-ever Avalon with AWD. The Toyota-developed Dynamic Torque Control AWD system will be available as a standalone option for the Camry LE, XLE, SE and XSE grades and on Avalon XLE and Limited grades.

In recent years, market demand for AWD passenger vehicles has increased significantly, due in no small part to the rising popularity of SUVs and crossovers. Midsize sedan customers outside the luxury category, however, have had relatively few AWD choices. Now, Toyota gives them two more with Camry, America’s best-selling midsize sedan for 17 years, and Toyota’s flagship sedan, Avalon.

Notably, the Camry AWD and Avalon AWD are North America-only models developed in the U.S. and assembled exclusively at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky.

Both the Camry AWD and Avalon AWD get a high-efficiency 2.5-litre DOHC four-cylinder engine teamed with an 8-speed Direct-Shift automatic transmission. Most Camry AWD grades have 202 horsepower, while the Camry XSE AWD and both Avalon AWD grades have 205 hp with dual exhaust. The new AWD system balances added traction with exemplary fuel efficiency.

The Camry and Avalon AWD models underscore Toyota’s commitment to the sedan category, a space that some brands have been leaving while Toyota has been expanding choices. Both the new-generation Camry and Avalon sedans offer hybrid models, and, this fall, both added their first-ever TRD (Toyota Racing Development)performance versions.

Toyota previously offered an AWD Camry in 1988-1991, called the AllTrac. The company appreciates the loyalty, patience and perseverance of all those customers and dealers who sent letters, emails, comments and texts asking for a modern AWD version of America’s favourite sedan.

Smarter All-Wheel Drive

To many car buyers, “all-wheel drive” may mean one thing, but there are many different AWD technologies on the market. Toyota found an ideal type of AWD for Camry and Avalon in its new-generation RAV4 compact SUV introduced for 2019. The Dynamic Torque Control AWD system provides effective traction for inclement and slippery weather while minimizing AWD’s typical drag on fuel economy. Admittedly, the system name is a mouthful; Camry and Avalon models equipped with it will carry a simple “AWD” badge on their trunk lids.

The Camry and Avalon AWD system can direct up to 50 per cent of engine torque to the rear wheels, in response to acceleration from a start or slippage at the front wheels.

Notably, when AWD isn’t needed, such as on long highway stretches, the electromagnetically controlled coupling on the front of the rear-drive axle can disengage the propeller shaft from the differential to prioritize fuel efficiency. The AWD is designed to re-engage in an instant when needed. AWD operation is transparent to the driver and passengers. On that note, the Camry and Avalon AWD models match their FWD counterparts in critical passenger space, trunk room, ride comfort, cabin quietness and vehicle agility.

All-American Effort

Neither the new-generation Camry nor Avalon was originally planned to have an AWD version, so the engineering team at Toyota Motor North America Research and Development in Saline, Michigan, developed them to meet the market demand for AWD sedans. The flexibility and components of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), and specifically the Camry and Avalon’s TNGA platform, allowed the team to develop the AWD versions in-house with improved efficiency.

Far more than a vehicle platform, TNGA brings together new approaches to engineering, design, production and materials. Its flexibility to develop different models from the same tools had already been proven. The North America-only Camry and Avalon AWD show that TNGA can be used by individual Toyota regions to tailor vehicles to that market’s local needs.

Since the RAV4 is also based on the TNGA platform, the opportunity to share components and basic engineering were built in. The team combined the upper body structure of the Camry and Avalon with the engine, transmission, transfer case and rear differential from the RAV4. The RAV4’s version of the multi-link rear suspension was adapted with some modifications and tuning to suit the sedans. Both the Camry and Avalon AWD use a modified version of the propeller shaft from the all-new Highlander SUV.

Adapting the AWD drivetrain to the Camry and Avalon required floor structure modifications, plus the use of an electronic parking brake and a saddle-style fuel tank with an optimized capacity for AWD models rather than the flat-style tank in the FWD models. Inside the car has the same rear-seat hip point height as the Camry and Avalon hybrid models. Despite the addition of a rear differential, the trunk floor height remains the same as in the FWD versions.

The transformation to AWD adds just 165 lbs. over the Camry FWD while the Avalon AWD weight is similar to that of its FWD V6 siblings.

Customers can expect the Camry and Avalon AWD to provide a similar ride and handling characteristics as the FWD models, plus of course the added traction capability. The suspension tuning, wheels, and tires differentiating the Camry and Avalon model grades carry over to the new AWD models. That means, for example, the Camry XSE grade features the same sport-tuned suspension and 19-inch wheels in FWD and AWD versions.

The Camry AWD will be the model year 2020 and arrive at dealerships in early spring. All AWD grades can get an optional Cold-Weather Package, which adds heated seats and mirrors on the LE, heated seats, mirrors and steering wheel on the SE, and heated steering wheel on the XLE and XSE. All other standards and optional features carry over from the FWD versions of the LE, XLE, SE and XSE model grades, including the latest Toyota Audio multimedia systems with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa compatibility.

The Avalon AWD will be the model year 2021 and go on sale next fall. Both XLE and Limited AWD grades will receive a standard heated steering wheel while other standard and optional features carryover from the FWD versions.

Toyota Safety Sense-P

All 2020 Camry and Avalon models come standard with Toyota Safety Sense-P (TSS-P) a suite of cutting-edge active safety systems that includes:

Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD)Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA)Automatic High Beams (AHB).

Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) are available on Camry and standard on Avalon. Intelligent Clearance Sonar (ICS) with Rear Cross-Traffic Braking (RCTB) also are available on both models.

Star Safety

All 2020 Camry and Avalon models have 10 standard airbags and Toyota’s Star Safety System, which includes Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, Anti-lock Braking System, and Smart Stop Technology. All come equipped with a standard backup camera.

Business › Ghanaian Juice Processing Company Astek To Commence Operation In 2020 by postbox(op): 10:21am On Nov 15, 2019
Astek Company Limited, a fruit juice processing factory in South Ghana is set to commence operations in April 2020 reviving operations after it shut down in 2009 as a result of financial challenges.

The government of Ghana has extended monetary support to revamp the company as part of the government’s Stimulus Package Programme to companies under the flagship one district one factory (1D1F) initiative using its subsidiary company Nano Foods Limited.

In addition to that, it has put in place measures to closely monitor the firm’s operations, actively promote the company’s products, regularly engage and support Ghana Standards Authority to ensure consistency in standards and facilitate the access to finance to address future Capital Expenditure and Working Capital requirements.

The company applied for an amount of GHS5,444,760.00 (US$0.98m) from EXIM Bank consisting of capital expenditure of GHS2,639,760.00 (US$0.47m) and working capital of GHS2,805,000.00 (US$0.5m) which was approved.

Mr Alan Kyerematen, Minister for Trade and Industry disclosed that the capital expenditure component of the amount GH¢2,639,760.00 (US$0.47m) had been disbursed to the company, with the working capital component still outstanding.

He said the company had also used part of the disbursed amount to refurbish the company’s premises but would require an additional amount of GH¢500,000.00 (US$90,000) to complete the refurbishment due to cost overrun.

Astek is currently waiting for the arrival of a pineapple processing equipment which could process about 600 metric tonnes of pineapple per annum and once operations commence it will create a minimum of 60 direct jobs and 200 indirect jobs.

As of now, the company has been able to secure orders to export Canned Sliced and Chunked Pineapples to Spain, USA, and Egypt under the new brand name Nano Foods and plans on producing and supplying Fresh Pineapple Juice for the local market.

In order to enhance the smooth flow of raw materials to feed the factory, the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) an agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry has supplied Pineapple Suckers to Out-growers and Farmers within the Nsawam-Adoagyiri area.

Business › Hong Kong Retains 1st Place In Global Ranking Of Most Expensive Shopping Streets by postbox(op): 9:25am On Nov 13, 2019
*Half of global top 10 locations
are European with four from Asia and one from the US
*Beijing’s Wangfujing is ranked
11th in the global list and 6th in the Asia Pacific list
*Seven locations across Greater
China made the top 20 in the Asia Pacific list
*Challenging retail market is
putting pressure on rents in some areas
*Online retail sales are growing
rapidly around the world.

HONG KONG,
CHINA – Media OutReach – 13
November 2019 – Hong Kong’s Causeway Bay has retained its crown as the world’s most
expensive shopping street, followed by New York’s Upper 5th Avenue and London’s
New Bond Street, according to new data from Cushman & Wakefield. Beijing’s
Wangfujing is the other city across Greater China to break the top 20, with a
global rank of 11.

The annual ‘Main
Streets Across the World’ report tracks rents for 448 locations across 68
markets – the largest number ever included since it started in 1988. The report
ranks locations by their prime rental value using Cushman & Wakefield’s
proprietary data.

Last year Causeway Bay ended five years of domination by New York’s
Upper 5th Avenue, and in the 2019 rankings,it retains its position with rents
to locate a store amounting to $2,745 per sq ft/yr. Upper 5th Avenue is in
second place at $2,250 psf/yr, with London’s New Bond Street third in the
global list, with annual rents at the London thoroughfare having risen 2.3% in
the past 12 months to $1,714 per psf/yr.

Report author Darren Yates, Head of EMEA
Retail Research at Cushman & Wakefield, said: “In terms of rental performance,
this year’s results are encouraging and demonstrate the resilience of the
premier retail locations. Rents on the world’s top retail streets have been
fairly stable and there is greater clarity on where retail is heading. However,
there is downward pressure on rents in many weaker locations, particularly in
the more mature markets of Europe and North America. In Asia Pacific, retail has generally
performed well across a very diverse group of markets.”

In Europe, New Bond Street leads the way ahead of Paris and Milan, with
Zurich’s Bahnhofstrasse at $866 psf/yr and Vienna’s Kohlmarkt at $513 psf/yr
completing the top five. Overall, rents in around 70% of locations in Europe
were stable or up on last year. Polarization is evident, however, between the
more established markets of North Western Europe and Southern, Central and
Eastern Europe, where online sales have yet to really accelerate.

In the Americas rental trends have shown a wide degree of variation.
Rents in Canada and the US remain under pressure in many areas, although there
can be significant variations between individual streets. There is some good
news in that rents in New York streets appear to be stabilizing, following
falls in recent years. Latin American retail markets continue to mature,
although rents can be volatile.

The Asia Pacific region is in a relatively strong position, with rents
in over 80% of locations covered either rising or stable. India recorded a
particularly strong performance, with solid rental growth across several
cities, while retail rents in Hong Kong have been resilient in the face of the
recent protests — although the outlook is more uncertain.

“Hong Kong’s Causeway Bay, (Russell Street) remains the world’s
most expensive retail street this year, based on data as of June 2019 at the
time the global survey was completed. Since then, however, the Hong Kong retail
market has come under growing pressure from local social unrest that has led to
a sharp drop in tourist arrivals and retail sales, as well as interruptions to
retailer operations, especially during weekends. As a result, retail rents have
fallen across all submarkets in recent months and the outlook for the remainder
of the year is muted,” explained Kevin
Lam, Executive Director, Head of Retail Services, Hong Kong at Cushman &
Wakefield. “However, some retailers see the current market
correction as a rare opportunity to return to the high street, and we therefore
expect some adjustment in retail trade mix. In particular, trades that focus on
mass-market demand and local consumption, such as the education, lifestyle and
sports/athleisure sectors, will fare better in the current environment. We are
seeing a number of such retailers cautiously look for opportunities to expand
or to seek a better rental package.”

Across Greater China, seven locations ranked in the top 20 in the Asia
Pacific list, including Hong Kong (1st), Beijing (6th), Shanghai (8th),
Shenzhen (11th), Guangzhou (13th), Taipei (15th) and Nanjing (20th). All of
their rankings remained unchanged from last year, besides Nanjing, which moved
three places up to round out the list.

Most major cities in mainland China continue to see a significant amount
of new retail development, with activity being driven by both domestic and
international retailers, the latter continuing to pursue a strategy of opening
in multiple locations. A variety of sectors are active, including fashion,
children’s education, cosmetics, entertainment, luxury, lifestyle, fitness and
F&B.

Following initial concerns about the impact of online on traditional
retail, the focus has now shifted to developing the ‘new retail’ model, which
blends the best of both in-store and online experiences. Shopping malls and
retailers are now deploying smart technologies across the whole retail spectrum
from merchandising to marketing and customer engagement, intending to improve
operational efficiencies, reduce costs and enhance the customer shopping
experience.

Darren Yates further expanded on the relationship
between online and in-store retail experiences: “Online sales continue to
increase around the world, but while much of the narrative is focused on the
challenges the internet poses for traditional bricks and mortar, the
relationship between the two is more complex. While quantifying the value of
the store has become more difficult, it remains an important touchpoint for the
consumer and generates both in-store and online sales by acting as a showroom
and creating a wider brand presence — the so-called ‘halo effect’. The most
successful retailers will be those who best integrate their physical and online
operations to create a seamless, positive brand experience for shoppers.”

Data for retail rents relates to our professionals’ opinion of the rent
obtainable on a standard unit in a prime pitch of 448 locations across 68
markets around the world. For the purposes of this survey, the standard main
street unit is defined — where possible — as a unit with 150-200 sq.m of sales
area. Typically, a unit has a frontage
of 6-8 metres. However, an element of flexibility is needed with the
definition, given that unit configuration varies from market to market. Assumptions regarding ancillary space follow
local practice.

Investment › Nigeria’s Interswitch Confirms $1B Valuation After Visa Investment by postbox(op): 7:15am On Nov 13, 2019
Nigerian digital payments firm Interswitch confirmed today it has reached unicorn status after Visa acquired a minority equity stake in the firm.

“The investment makes Interswitch one of the most valuable African fintech businesses with a valuation of $1 billion,” Interswitch said in a release to TechCrunch.

The Visa investment could create the first of two market distinctions for Interswitch — as it shouldn’t change the Lagos based company’s plans to go public.

“An IPO is still very much in the cards; likely sometime in the first half of 2020,” a source with knowledge of the situation told TechCrunch on the background.

Interswitch did not reveal the amount of Visa’s investment and would not confirm Sky News reporting Monday that pegged it at $200 million for 20%.

Whatever the exact number, Interswitch’s confirmation of a $1 billion valuation marks another milestone in African tech.

Only one VC backed startup, turned the later-stage company on the continent — e-commerce venture Jumia — has generated enough revenue and capital to achieve a ten-figure valuation.

For the near to medium-term, Interswitch could stand as Africa’s sole tech-unicorn, since Jumia’s volatile share-price and declining market-cap since an April IPO have dropped the company’s worth below $1 billion (for now).

Founded in 2002 by Mitchell Elegbe, Interswitch pioneered the infrastructure to digitize Nigeria’s then predominantly paper-ledger and cash-based economy.

The company now provides much of rails for Nigeria’s online banking system that serves Africa’s largest economy and population. Interswitch offers a number of personal and business finance products, including its Verve payment cards and Quickteller payment app.

From its home-base of Nigeria Interswitch has expanded its physical presence to Uganda, Gambia and Kenya.

Interswitch also sells its products in 23 African countries and launched a partnership in August for its Verve cardholders to make payments on Discover’s global network.

Visa and Interswitch are touting the equity investment as a strategic collaboration between the two companies, without a lot of detail on what that will mean.

“The partnership will create an instant acceptance network across Africa to benefit consumers and merchants,” was the characterization offered in a press release.

Interswitch’s imminent IPO has been delayed for several years. CEO and founder Mitchell Elegbe told TechCrunch, “a dual-listing on the London and Lagos stock exchange is an option on the table,” in a January 2016 call.

In subsequent years, Elegbe and other Interswitch executives named Nigeria’s recession as a reason for the delay.

A number of stories have surfaced, including Bloomberg News reporting in July, that the company was poised to go public on the LSE.

TechCrunch’s source close to the matter offered the latest indication that Interswitch will list on a major exchange by mid-2020.

With possible exits for backers Helios Investment Partners, TA Investments and IFC, Interswitch’s unicorn status and pending IPO could create more momentum for startup investment in Africa. VC to the continent has grown significantly over the last 5 years, but stands at just over $1 billion annually, per Partech numbers.

Interswitch could also be in a stronger position to offer more capital directly to the continent’s fintech startups by reviving its ePayment Growth Fund. The venture arm made two investments in 2015 but then went largely quiet.

Travel › Nigeria Ranks 30th In 2019 Africa Visa Openness Index – Report by postbox(op): 9:11am On Nov 12, 2019
This fourth edition of the Index shows that 47 countries improved or maintained their visa openness scores in 2019

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, November 11, 2019,/ — For the first time, on average, Africans can travel to approximately 27 countries visa-free or with a visa on arrival; Ethiopia moves up a record 32 places on the Index, entering the top 20 most visa-open countries in Africa.

For the first time, African travellers have liberal access to over half the continent, the 2019 Africa Visa Openness Index published by the African Union Commission and African Development Bank, reveals. The report was launched on Monday on the sidelines of the Africa Investment Forum, which opened in Johannesburg, South Africa.

However, Nigeria Ranked 30th amongst African nations on the index. In addition, the report showed that Nigeria was not among the 32 countries to have signed the Protocol on Free Movement of Persons (PFMP) and also not among the 26 countries to have ratified the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Ranked among the top 20 countries on visa, openness is Mauritania in North Africa ranked first place, in West Africa, was Benin, Cabon Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal and Togo.

In East Africa, Comoro, Djibouti, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Tanzania, Ethiopia (moving from 32nd position in the previous year) and Uganda made the list while Madagascar, Mauritius, and Mozambique were among the only three South African countries to have also made the top 20’s.

Seychelles and Benin are the top-performing countries, offering visa-free access to all Africans.

The progress on visa openness in Africa follows growing momentum for greater integration between countries and signals that policymakers across the continent are pushing reforms, making it easier for African businessmen and women, investors, students and tourists to travel.

This fourth edition of the Index shows that 47 countries improved or maintained their visa openness scores in 2019. African visitors no longer need a visa to travel to a quarter of other African countries, whereas visa-free travel was only possible to a fifth of the continent in 2016. Currently, 21 African countries also offer eVisas to make travel more accessible, up from 16 in 2018, 13 in 2017, and 9 in 2016).

The 2019 top performers on visa openness rank among the top countries for foreign direct investment in Africa and benefit from strong levels of growth, including in tourism. The Index shows that Seychelles and Benin remain the top two countries on visa openness in Africa, with their visa-free policy for all African visitors. Ethiopia moved up a record 32 places on the Index and entered the top 20 most visa-open countries in Africa.

African Development Bank President Akinwumi A. Adesina said, “Our work on the Africa Visa Openness Index continues to monitor how Africa is doing on the free movement of people. Progress is being made but much still needs to be done. To integrate Africa, we should bring down the walls. The free movement of people, and especially labour mobility, are crucial for promoting investments.”

The Visa Openness Index has inspired reforms in more than 10 African countries including Ghana, Benin, Tunisia, Ethiopia and Kenya, unlocking tremendous potential for the promotion of intra-regional tourism, trade and investments.

Despite the gains shown in the report, there is a need to move further. In 2019, only 26% of Africans are able to get visas on arrival in other African countries, up by only 1% compared to 2016.

Countries need to make more progress on visa regimes, including introducing visas-on-arrival. By breaking down borders, Africa will be able to capitalize on gains from regional integration initiatives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area, the Single African Air Transport Market, and the Protocol on the Free Movement of Persons.

“It cannot be stressed enough how crucial integration is for the development of the continent and the fulfilment of its people’s aspiration to well-being. I congratulate those member states that have taken measures to ease the procedures for the entry of African nationals into their territories, and urge those that have not yet done so to join this growing momentum,” said Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson of the African Union Commission.

Career › Words To Avoid Using During An Interview by postbox(op): 7:07am On Nov 11, 2019
The job market is very competitive and getting an interview is a chance to let an employer or HR manager know you’re the best person for the job. It’s all about communication skills at this point how well you express yourself, word choices and your ability to persuade an employer to give you the job. One of the best tactics is to be specific when you describe your work experience, skills, and accomplishments as well as avoiding certain words. Using these words that would be shared below can make or mar your chances of getting the job.

Amazing

Was your last job really amazing? Is your work experience amazing? How about your communication skills? What does amazing mean? Stupifying? Unreal beyond belief? If your last job was so “amazing,” why are you looking for another job? Is this one more “amazing?” Used once in the right context, the word isn’t bad. You can use it once and after the first one, it doesn’t really have much effect except being annoying.

Awesome

This word really doesn’t say much at all. It’s filler, overused and just sort of thrown out there. This said few of us can describe ourselves or our abilities as awesome. Your skills may be exceptional or superior, but awesome is a no-no.

Whatever

You may be tempted to use this word when answering  “…tell me about a time when…” questions. Used alone as a comment on a situation or as a response to someone comes across as lazy and rude.

Totally

The total of what? If you mean you agree, say that. It is used as an affirmation. Interviewer: “That project seems like it was very rewarding. You: “Totally!”  Or, intensity. You: “I was totally amazed at the awesome opportunity!” (Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.) You can see what happens when you string them all together. A lot of nothing!

Great

This word is so overused and has lost its punch. It’s supposed to show a high level of something, but the word great is really lukewarm. With the wrong voice tone, it can be negative. On a scale of one to 10, great is around five or six. Be specific and find some other descriptive adjectives that show proper intensity and relation to the situation.

Can’t and don’t

Can’t and don’t are negative words and negativity has no place in an interview. Refrain from using phrases such as “I don’t like doing this, I can’t do this,” or “I don’t want to do this,”. You want to show an interviewer that you are open to taking on any role or task and that no job is too small for you.

Freaking or Fricking

We all know what you really want to say, and using these substitutes don’t lessen the effect of the word they represent. They are still rude, inappropriate, borderline vulgar and don’t have a place in an interview.
