As a rule we don't change names or alter data after you get a matriculation number, all these things are pre registration/clearance issues and should have been resolved in year 1.

People are Admitted to a department and graduate in other departments should not be an inhibition to go for NYSC in so far your name is clearly registered in the Matriculation list hitherto uploaded.

We have a way of making things difficult in this country but most times it's the candidates, they will now say the error is from the principal, the person who registered them but it was clearly captioned, Surname/Last Name, First Name, Middle Name.

Anyway just keep on going and hope for the best.

This always seems to happen with people who have multiple names and it's not necessarily their faults rather carelessness from some individuals who one way or the other nonchalantly make mistakes

This is how my friend isnt even mobilized for nysc due to the issue with name

What's really hard in making a simple correction in a database. When it's not set in stone.

I have an issue with my name

The names on my NIN and jamb profile does not align with the one on my waec and neco certificate. For example:
The name on my waec certificate is
Daniel Ese Naomi
And the one on my nin and jamb profile is Daniel Eseoghene Naomi.

Before I wrote jamb, I tried correcting my NIN name so it could tally with my waec and neco result, but they couldn't find my information on their system. Despite waiting for a couple of weeks. And I had no choice but to register like that. Now I just graduated August this year but clearance has not commenced fully. Where can I make corrections as I am totally confused on what to do now.

I have an issue with my name

On my Jamb I have a different middle name than on my WAEC and when I got admission I wasn't cleared because of it, so I had to go to Jamb office for name correction, I was given and indemnity form which I submitted to my school(Uniben) to be signed and sent.

The issue is my name correction was rejected on the grounds of insufficient evidence provided, even though I provided all that was required, I'm really confused right now, I don't want to lose my admission cause I was given 6 months grace to get this name approval

I've started the process again but I'm still worried, what else can I do?

Please I was meant to follow batch c but an issue came up from my school. They refused to give me my certificate and statement of result as my middle name was abbreviated in my jamb admission letter e.g John Adams H.
so this past week, I have been to jamb office and I have started the process. But I am told it will take time before it update. How can I see my school student affairs to resolve this fast so I can join the next graduation list.
Also peeps from my school who are on the graduation list but are not yet on the Senate list as of today, will they be able to register tomorrow?

Good morning. NYSC relies on the name uploaded by your school on the senate list for mobilization. They don't use the name on your JAMB profile. https://nyscwhatsappgroup.com/jamb-matriculation-list-for-nysc/

However, if your school feels there is sn anomaly in your JAMB name, they might not mobilize your details on the senate list. This means if your school is cool with your details on JAMB, you shouldn't be worried. https://nyscwhatsappgroup.com/nysc-senate-list/

First of all, you cannot register for NYSC twice. Secondly, getting exempted from NYSC is not a matter of choice. You fall in that category because you tick some certain conditions. You can read this post for insight.

One key step is to write a formal petition to your school management.Here’s how to go about it:
Address the letter to:
The Vice Chancellor, copy the
Registrar, Dean,Head of Department
Student Affairs Division
In your letter:,Explain the issue in order (what happened, when, and how)
State clearly that the error came from the department.Include your full name, correct spelling, matric number, and graduation year
Attach copies of all documents (JAMB, WAEC, Kofa page, screening slip, etc.)
Request urgent intervention so you can complete your clearance and get your certificate
