DoTheNeedful:I think we’re actually on the same page regarding the need for private sector-driven growth—which is why I said capital and talent move in tandem. Where I think we differ is that you see capital as the primary lever to acquire talent (hiring it from elsewhere), whereas I see capital as the magnet that must be paired with local talent development to create sustainable wealth. If you have billions but no local talent pipeline, you end up having to 'import' your entire workforce forever, which is expensive and precarious. If you solve for talent and capital together—the way the real 'billionaire cities' did—you don't just build a company, you build an industry. We shouldn't just want the capital to hire the talent; we should want the environment that generates the talent.... |
DoTheNeedful:The fact that Dangote had to use a massive amount of capital to 'drag' a British executive here proves my point, not yours. If talent and capital didn't move in tandem, 60+ years of multi-billion dollar oil revenues would have organically built that elite refining expertise right here in Nigeria. Capital can rent a manager for a job, but it takes both talent and capital moving together in a continuous loop to build a self-sustaining wealth hub. Capital without talent is just an expensive asset waiting for someone else to run it. |
It is a massive oversimplification to say capital can always get talent..... DoTheNeedful: |

It's experiences like this that give birth to guys who only want to date girls for x. If you really want dates that you would enjoy, she has to love you a lot more than you like her. Most of these girls have high expectations besides physical attractiveness. If she isn't into you, baba, leave her alone. |
There are a lot of low-IQ people in Nigeria—the beauty of democracy... They want the good things that come with a developed nation but do not want the pain of sowing. No wonder they never achieve much in their lives. |
Atlantis585:Achieved anything?? Na only on top Nairaland, many people get mouth...lol |

In the grand tapestry of human progress, the pursuit of insight transcends boundaries, weaving together threads of understanding that elevate individuals to realms of heightened intelligence and wisdom. From religious circles where revelations or "rhema" bring divine clarity and joy to the secular world where insights act as catalysts for intellectual growth, these moments of clarity are akin to discovering nuggets of gold—precious and transformative in their essence. Consider the tale of Archimedes, the ancient Greek mathematician and inventor, who famously shouted "Eureka!" as he ran naked through the streets of Syracuse. In a moment of divine insight while immersed in a bath, he discovered the principle of buoyancy, showcasing the sheer delight and exhilaration that accompanies a true "Eureka" moment. Such instances not only prove that insights are sweet but also demonstrate the sheer power they hold to inspire and transform. Just as Archimedes' revelation led to a groundbreaking discovery, the pursuit of insights in everyday life can lead to a similar sense of enlightenment and empowerment. These moments of clarity, when actively sought after, can unlock new pathways of thought, enriching one's understanding and fostering a deep resonance with knowledge. The transformative effect of insights is not limited to academia alone. They have the power to transcend mere intelligence, shaping individuals into seekers of truth and champions of knowledge. As one accumulates insights, a metamorphosis occurs, leading to a deepening of intellectual horizons and a heightened attunement to the intricacies of diverse subjects and disciplines. There are instances when insights are so powerful that they prompt individuals to run out of conference rooms, their minds ablaze with newfound understanding and excitement. These moments of intellectual revelation are akin to striking gold—a rare and precious occurrence that leaves a lasting impact and propels individuals towards greater understanding and connection with the vast tapestry of human knowledge. In embracing insights with fervor and passion, individuals can transcend the confines of conventional wisdom and become architects of their intellectual destinies. By becoming embodiments of understanding, they not only enrich their own lives but also contribute to the collective pool of wisdom that shapes our shared human experience. In essence, just as Archimedes' "Eureka" moment brought joy and confidence, everyday insights have the power to transform individuals into beacons of knowledge and understanding, fostering a deep connection to the world and its mysteries. Through the alchemy of insight, we can unlock the transformative potential of knowledge, turning mere information into profound wisdom that illuminates our paths and enriches our lives.

While the emotional response in Farooq's article is understandable given the challenges faced by many in Nigeria, it's important to approach the analysis of political figures and policies with a balanced perspective. It's crucial to consider a variety of factors beyond just the increase in petrol prices when evaluating the country's economic situation. Criticizing individuals in power based on perceived cognitive shortcomings may divert attention from addressing the actual policies at hand. Additionally, making sweeping generalizations about the motives of the upper echelons of power without concrete evidence can oversimplify a complex socio-political landscape. A more nuanced examination that considers multiple perspectives and factors is necessary to fully grasp the dynamics at play in Nigeria's current economic and political environment. @myPOV |

While these methods may offer a lower risk of detection compared to ingesting drugs, they still involve serious legal consequences if caught. However, they are considered less dangerous than ingesting drugs, which poses significant health risks and can lead to fatal consequences if the drug packages rupture inside the body. Alternative methods that criminals have used in the past include: Body Packing: Concealing drugs internally in ways that are less likely to be detected, such as inserting them into body cavities or using specially designed containers that are less likely to be visible on X-rays. Drug Body Cavity Smuggling: This involves surgically implanting drugs into the body, usually in areas that are less likely to be inspected during routine screenings. Concealment in Objects: Disguising drugs as harmless items or concealing them within everyday objects to avoid suspicion during customs checks. Use of Mules: Recruiting individuals (known as mules) to carry drugs in their luggage or on their person, relying on their lack of criminal record or suspicion to evade detection. She was obviously used as a mule. Sophisticated Packaging: Creating intricate packaging methods that make it difficult for authorities to detect the presence of drugs, such as using odor-blocking materials or vacuum-sealing techniques. @POV Pls don't associate with crime, you don't have to do that to make a living. |

In my view, from the main article, Russia isn't addressing the allegations made by Finland regarding a hybrid attack. This seems like a distraction because an individual is not likely to spearhead an espionage mission without government involvement. Anyway, these individuals were caught in the act of illegal smuggling. |
I hope they are also aware that human waste can be used for biogas production, fertilizer, compost, soil regeneration, energy generation, and water purification. Societies can tap into this valuable resource for sustainable practices in energy production, agriculture, and environmental conservation. This approach would not only address waste management but also underscore the economic and environmental benefits of utilizing human waste in innovative ways to promote resource efficiency and sustainability. |
The political crisis in Rivers State has intensified as the paramount ruler of Emohua kingdom, His Majesty Sir Ohna Sergeant Awuse, declared his palace exclusive to supporters of Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, sparking controversy. Awuse's video statement instructing loyalty to Wike has drawn criticism from Governor Siminalayi Fubara's supporters, who view the move as divisive and inappropriate for a traditional ruler. Prince Charles E.O Beke condemned the monarch's actions, emphasizing the traditional institution's role as a unifying force and calling the declaration a potential trigger for conflict. Beke stressed the importance of separating political affiliations from traditional responsibilities, asserting that the people's loyalty should not be dictated by the palace. The situation highlights tensions between political loyalties and traditional roles, underscoring the need to uphold the neutrality and unity traditionally associated with the monarchy. |
The Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria suggests that selling the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company to viable investors is key to enhancing its efficiency. AMCON's Managing Director, Gbenga Alade, emphasized the importance of stable power supply for economic growth. Despite AMCON's efforts to address IBEDC's challenges, the sale process is ongoing. Alade highlighted the potential profitability of IBEDC, especially with investors willing to invest substantially for efficiency. The power sector restructuring involves selling Discos managed by banks and AMCON to capable investors, aiming to improve operational effectiveness and investment. Additionally, AMCON has completed a power project in Kaduna State to further support the power sector's development. |
