This is exactly what is happening to me since 2022. My mom's fell ill and I brought her to town and decided to rent out her house just to ensure that there is someone in the compound , since 2022 after renting the house tenant disappeared and up till now he is no were to be found.
Unfortunate my mum passed away 2023 and being the only child I ve been looking for the man to come nd removed his things nd I ve made up my mind to pack his things to one of the uncompleted rooms the next time I travel to the village, cos I need someone to be in the house and the compound so as to prevent the house from dilapidating.
