practicalclass:Update: Item received. Seller's fault... did not fill delivery address properly ( first time it will happen though). Normal postal shipping still works, though it takes time and like i said, track judiciously and know the pros and cons. |
dagok:Same here. I used a guy before but d guy na high BP inducing agent ![]() |
lizzlix:Your item will get to Naija for sure and since it's 15usd, dey might not touch it at the post office and you will get it. Just make sure to track judiciously. I just got to know my item was delivered to final destination by calling impc lagos but their tracking did not update. I'm only skeptical when shipping item if great value. And now seeking a reliable shipping agent from China to Nigeria. |
omobone:Hope you finally started your housejob (its better you have your full license in nigeria) before exiting. Sent you a pm. |
Importers in the house, please i need advice. I shipped via Singapore post to naija. Good arrived lagos since Nov 23rd and tracking shows its with IMPC air (international postal service) in lagos since. Now that tracking site (IPS) is down. What do i do or does anyone have info on what's going on with IMPC air I called lagos Nipost office and they said the good will go from IPS to ibadan straight. |
Even the horse on the coat of arms of Buhari's agabada get as e be...'Nigeria Arise' |
You can verify this story on the father's facebook page #Sunny Ekanem. |
I hope this hits front page. Mods please look kindly on this post. Thank you. https://www.gofundme.com/akanimo-ekanem *AKANIMO EKANEM* Akanimo Ekanem, a 10-year old boy in year 8 at a private school in Ibadan, South-West Nigeria, and the first of two kids of his parents, developed abdominal pains in the last week of October. He was previously in a very good state of health. In addition to the abdominal pains, he also reported difficulty passing stools despite the frequent urge to. An abdominal USS done 3 days after the onset of the pain revealed a mass in the pelvic region. A CT scan of the abdomen done the next day confirmed the mass which was thought to be malignant (cancerous) and also showed it caused obstruction to urinary outflow and compressed the rectum. 11 days after the onset of the pain he had a surgery to divert the stool passageway (colostomy) and some tissue from the tumour was sent for special (histopathology) tests. The bulk of the tumour was inoperable. After the surgery he suffered a kidney failure but the doctors were able to manage this conservatively over a few days. His blood pressure rose significantly and the abdominal pain and distension worsened from intestinal obstruction. 8 days after the first surgery, he had a second surgery to relieve the cause of the intestinal obstruction. Results from the pathology tests stated he had a rare type of cancer called Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour. In Nigeria, there is limited experience in the management of this condition as well as its attendant complications. The decision was, therefore, made to seek further care abroad. Several hospitals were contacted especially in the United States and most of the doctors agree he needed to be treated urgently. He has started treatment at a hospital in the U.S. reputable for the treatment of this rare tumour. Akanimo is quite ill. He currently has marked swelling of his abdomen and lower limbs from the pressure effect of the tumour on the abdominal organs and blood vessels. His blood pressure is elevated and it has been a battle controlling it. There is residual renal (kidney) dysfunction too. Due to the aggressive nature of the tumour, it divides rapidly, getting larger in size. Every passing day is critical to preserving his life and giving him the best chance at a cure of this very rare clinical condition. We, his parents, hereby solicit your kind help in saving our son. His estimated cost of treatment at renowned paediatric oncology centres in the U.S. is about a little over 1 million dollars. It would involve several courses of chemotherapy, a major surgery and possibly radiotherapy over a 9-12 month period. There would also be treatment for complications that arise either from the primary diagnosis or from advserse effects of the treatment protocol. Please see attached a copy of his medical report. God bless you as we anticipate your generous help. We trust God to extend His healing hands on Akanimo and make him perfectly whole again. It shall surely end in praise. Amen. Who can tell that's Fela from a distance. He no sabi sculpture the head make e resemble Fela #fullstop |
musaogunnubi:Yes, you are right. He is active in issues that does not bring development to the nation or constituency he represents. Let's call a spade a spade |
Basic123:These pictures over-hype ibadan. I know Ibadan well....lived there since my womb expulsion day. |
This is sad. RIP to her May the Lord comfort are loved ones |
That face cap on his head is becoming unbecoming His dress sense still childish I wonder if he pays attention at these meetings/forums All in all, VOTE WISELY next election. Politicians are mostly seeking to enrich their accounts as a form of Social Security for themselves. But they will give account to the Almighty creator some day. |
Let him just stay there and not come back. He can go and join their army sef |
These are old pictures. Ibadan has no good roads presently. Highly disappointed with the present government for such a huge amount of neglect towards the maintenance of the roads. |
Ishilove:Women shld start taking folic acid once they r thinking of conceiving till the time of delivery. Its called Pre-conception care (scope is even beyond ante-natal care). |
The child has a neural tube defect called spina bifida usually associated with hydrocephalus. The bone that shld encase the spinal cord at lower back not fully developed. Flow of CSF (brain juice) blocked at a certain level. Baby needs attention of a neurosurgeon as it can be treated. I pray they receive help. Maybe a GoFund Me or letter to one of the Polithieficians in their State. |
richyblink1:Determine which side of the car the noise is coming from. Then check your sway bar links or muffler. Have it checked as first resort. |
I disagree with the last point. The air vent is such that you can adjust the one directly over your head to suit your comfort. Oyinbos are considerate of each passenger hence the air vents a nd overhead tiny lights are adjustable to passengers comfort. |
deepee08:These are the kind of pictures you take and keep in your private life (for fun memories) and not go public/social with. Except he is a model. |
Explorers:This looks like Anatomy class for Med Student at the university of ibadan taking place in one of their lecture theatres. |
A+ mother marrying O+ father giving birth to A- child is possible if one of the parent is heterozygote or both are i.e Rh+Rh- in one of the parent or both parents. |
Once you say HbAA, you are saying that qualitatively and quantitatively the Hemoglobin chains are okay. |
sainty2k3:#a long post but worth reading OP lets shine more light on what Sickle cell Hemoglobin is: HbSS means the hemoglobin has on of the amino acid of its protein component switched i.e valine instead of glycine (this is molecular biology/genetics). This makes the red blood cell (RBC) to be abnormally shaped i.e it is sickled hence it cant carry the normal amount of oxygen normal RBC carry, and it has a shorter half life (<<120 days). This explains some of the symptoms of sickle cell disease. On the Hb electrophoresis the Hb S band is seen in sickle cell. (Explaining the concept of electrophoresis is another write up on its own but it uses the concept of chromotography (basic chemistry). In Thalassemias, we have inadequate globin chains that make up hemiglobin (e.g HbAA is two alpha and two beta chains, but in thalassemia, you have say two alpha and one beta or two alpha and no beta). This globin chains carry different genetic information (this is like computer coding). In thalassemia, the symptoms are different, likewise what you see on electrophoresis cause you are dealing with inadequate globin chain. In sickle cell, its about abnormal globin chain (one is an issue of quantity the other an issue of quality). Thalassemia and sickle cell are two different disease, hence in genetic inheritance the offspring inherit different disesase. If HbA (beta thalessemia for instance) marries HbAS we have HbS/ß-thalassemia heterozygote: they have some mild degree of sickle cell features (like in sickle cell trait HbAS but this is different from SS. It's rare though and not commonly seen in our part of the world. This Thalassemia is commoner in Mediterranean. The kind you see in Africans won't give you a sickle picture. If AA marries AS they won't have SS (except a lab error if the AA was actually AS). AA is different from A (actually HbA²). |
Cinderella5:. Thank u o. This is the first sound post i saw following Op's thread opening post. Op did not bother checking if their is anything like Biscuit bone, plus is explanation of brisket bone even fits as the correct nomenclature. Biscuit bone is used for an abnormally brittle bone in a person or biscuit bone (a form of dog snacks). Nigerians pls take to correction. Hian!

May! And budget is yet to be passed. Oh dear Nigeria. |
Their are several causes of Recurrent Miscarriage (its a medical condition). One of such is chromosomal abnormalities. Chromosomes are the vehicles carrying genes (like software code that make up the person). Some chromosomal abnormalities can't sustain life such that if they are in a sperm or egg and fertilisation occurs the formed embryo cant reach term, hence the body is made to eject it. Needless to say, many things cause Recurrent miscarriage. D above is just one in the pack. #i'm nt implying that ur bf has no problem ooo, it cld be either party. To see a specialists (Obstetrician) will be a good thing to do in tackling this issue. |
