Watianoengineer: This is why we should thank president Bola Tinubu for his bold reforms. Opposition parties are defecting in droves, prices of food and essential commodities are coming down. No more subsidy in nigeria and the economy is growing rapidly. May God bless president Bola Tinubu and give him strength to fulfill his renewed hope agenda. Amen What bold reforms? Can you say this to your kinsmen in that your underdeveloped village? What prices of goods are coming down? Who took them up before? May your life and that of your unborn generations be run like Tinubu and APC has ran this country. If e sure for you, say amen. |

This country is a joke. Imagine organising a ceremonial event using tax payers money to "induct" a military helicopter bought with tax payers money for it to be ready to be put in use. Like they mean this helicopter can't be used in battle unless it is inducted? Lol Like all US, UK, France and Russian military helicopters were all inducted after production before they started using them? Shame of a country! zero8zero: But people like you are spreading the Igbo victimhood on Twitter, even when it was explained that more candidates in Lagos were affected. It's always this victim complex. People like me? What do you mean by that? Did you see me on twitter? Meanwhile the issue of Igbo victimisation is true. It is only logical for one to see this as a calculated attempt to victimize a tribe when you look at how the Ronu group are defending JAMB's incompetence. It is also very possible that Lagos was added to the list to create a smokescreen of their intentions. |
Education › Re: JAMB UTME Glitch: Majority Of Affected Candidates Are In Lagos by Precious452(f): 11:12pm On May 15, 2025 |
It's not very difficult to spot a Ronu WhatsApp group topic on Nairaland these days. This thread is an unnecessary effort towards damage control. Whether or not this "glitch" was a targeted attempt to victimize the Igbos should not be through topic of discussion. The most important thing to look into is the remedial efforts to prevent future occurrences of things like this. We need true justice in this country. |

SmartPolician: You have no idea how powerful governors are, especially when they have good relationship with the Commissioner of Police and the GOC of the state's military barracks.
In short, elections can only be free and fair if the governor of a state wants it to be. Where he wants otherwise, he will mobilize security operatives and men to rewrite the results and nobody can do anything about it.

Politics › Re: Abaribe: Nigeria Would Have Been Better Under Peter Obi by Precious452(f): 6:56am On Nov 26, 2024 |
emkz: The messianic toga coronated on Peter Obi became his albatross that ended up exposing him badly.
Among the three leading presidential candidate, Peter Obi was the least prepared. His buzzwords were: "new Nigeria", "consumption to production", "Nigeria is at the last stage of collapsing".
It was even disturbing that Peter Obi saw himself as the one to rescue Nigeria. He was not even prepared because he had no manifesto until he was forced to produce one by the crew of Arise News. This manifesto was released on December 4, 2022. Tinubu released his own manifesto around October 20, 2022. But one of Obi's henchmen claimed Tinubu copied Obi's manifesto.
If Obi presiding over Nigeria would have made Nigeria better, let's interrogate the following:
(1) Obi presided over Anambra for 8 years. Is Anambra under him as inspiration of what Nigeria should be? What specific policies did he propose to turn Anambra from consumption to production?
(2) How did he improve the IGR of Anambra?
(3) He had claimed Anambra came first in WAEC. Does anyone even understand what that means?
(4) Looking at his campaign expenses as released by his campaign treasurer, he spent more money on post election litigation than pre-election campaigns. He either did not believe he could win on the ballot and wanted to win through the courts, or he wanted to spend less and maximize benefits. He ended up wasting money as his calculation failed.
(5) He claimed to have bought 505 as a student. Yet, he struggled to explain to Arise News what he did for a living. He said they should ask others, that he was a distributor (not a manufacturer) and studied market to market at Harvard. What exactly was he distributing?
(6) His name was mentioned in Pandora papers. Why did he hide money in a tax haven?
(7) Through his utterances, he demarketed Nigeria. His entire campaign had no strategy. His spokesmen could not talk about anything apart from religion and attacking Tinubu. This was also an area Atiku failed. Tinubu was the only one who had a campaign slogan: "Renewed Hope" and that was his message.
Now, in terms of Nigeria being as it is. Many years ago, some elder statesmen warned that Nigeria penchant for wasting funds was us eating away our future. We subsidized dollars, which only benefitted the rich, subsidized fuel which many turned into a dangerous business by smuggling and even making claims when they didn't supply fuel, four refineries collapsed at once, gas was and is still being flared; we subsidized religious pilgrimage, and even killed our manufacturing sector. The only subsidy we enjoyed was education and healthcare.
It was in Nigeria they were defending the naira by subsidizing dollar sales. Defending the naira from what? Who benefitted? When we could no longer afford the mess we created, we started borrowing to pay subsidies, salaries and some states were bankrupt and could not meet salary obligations. Former President Buhari bailed out the states in 2015 and 2021. This was the reality.
Now they are asking what Nigeria did with the savings from subsidy. The fact is that the word "savings" is a misnomer. Nigeria simply stopped borrowing to fund a corrupt subsidy regime.
Just to conclude, there is no evidence beyond gaslighting that Nigeria would have been better off with Peter Onwuabasi Obi (POO) as president. Reno Omokri I sight you. Number one hustler in this Tinubu regime. Have some shame please. |

sparko1: When they started you were clapping, when they kill policemen and soldiers in checkpoints you blame the officers and clap for UGM🙄🙄
But you want officers to protect lives and property because it's their job, you can't have it both ways, if you enjoy protection from iPod, don't expect it from officers, they have wives and children too.
When they started, the warning signs were there, officers try to kill them as much as possible but there were public outcries, people in the region kept asking why the high handedness, people were comparing iPod with OPC🙄🙄 enjoy your OPC and stop complaining. You have to be conscious of how you use your pronouns Mr. I have never forgotten once supported the killing of cops and the destabilisation of the South East by these UGM. I am in total support of the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu because the Nigerian government has failed to successfully establish a case against him. Holding him in prison is a breach on his fundamental human right and an act of injustice against the Igbos. Finally , I am in support of the arrest of Simon Ekpa. He has to answer for the violence and killings he sponsored and encouraged in the South East. If proven guilty by any court of competent jurisdiction, he should face the consequences of his actions. |

Judolisco: If it was in the North that shekau ordered that they shouldn't come out on Mondays, and they obeyed him, we'll say it's illiteracy... How dis dude was able to pull dis thing off that even governors don't work in Mondays in d south east should be studied A larger percentage of the people in South East Nigeria do not sit at home on Mondays in obedience to Simon Ekpa and his UGM goons but rather out of fear of losing their lives. They have lost confidence in the protection offered by the Nigerian security agencies. To make matters worse, anybody who's business falls victim of UGM attack is usually not taken care of or compensated by the government. Nobody cares about the person. The government attitude is almost like the citizen is stylishly blamed for putting his/herself in harms way. The dead are not even mourned enough let alone securing justice for them. Why would you come out of you know that your life don't even matter to the Nigerian government that is encouraging you to disregard the sit-at-home order? |
