Additivesupplie: Hello, please what does Can+ mean ? I also recently applied for my brother that has 2 expired Canada tourist visas. But I applied on the new IRCC portal using the visitor visa application route. It didn’t bring up anything about Can+ Can you please tell me what Can+ mean and how to access that, because nothing has moved on his application and I applied for him since January 26th. Thank you.
Infact I just submitted with fate.... Normally even with Canadian visa, you will follow normal procedure like new application and submit all required documents. But when I apply via the new portal, it automatically qualifies me for Can+, no documents required, not even bank statement.
I think I was giving because I have an expired study permit 2014 and expired visit visa 2019 |

Big Congratulations!!! Ikechi12: Okay this is my timeline! 2nd time applicant
1st application was in the UK on 14th May 2021. My review started in July when I had already returned to Nigeria. They told me that my UK permit had expired and that I should update them with a new permit. I then replied that I had returned to Nigeria bla bla. Then they issued me a rejection. In the GCMS note, this was the reason:
Nigerian male applicant, has been studying Masters through an Erasmus programme in Italy and in the UK. Status is now expired and he has returned to Port Harcourt. The applicant has not yet completed his Masters degree through Erasmus programme (states completion will be in September) and as such I am not satisfied that he currently meets the criteria to engage in a PhD programme at McGill University. Further, there are similar programmes available closer to Nigeria, studies in Canada would further remove the applicant from his country of citizenship, after studies in Europe and the UK.
On the whole, I am not satisfied the applicant meets the requirements under R216 for the following reasons: - Academic credentials have not been presented - Limited travel history - Limited assets - Purpose of travel
I felt that they just rejected me because of my expired status in the UK because: 1. I don't have a limited travel history. You can see from the visa officer's comment that they are aware that I have travelled to UK and Italy. 2. I have multiple scholarships for my PhD plus 15kcad personal saving 3. Even though I completed my MSc in September, my resumption would be in January. So it should not be an issue. Overall, I think my residence status was the reason for the rejection.
