anonymous2015: IT IS A VERY BIG PITY, THANK MY FIRST POST ON NAIRALAND WOULD BE A RANT, BUT I NEED TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE OUT THERE, SO THEY DON'T FALL INTO THE HANDS OF THESE LIARS AND SCAMMERS THAT CALL THEMSELVES A SHIPPING COMPANY AND GO BY THE NAME "SHIPPYME". IF AFTER THIS POST YOU STILL DECIDE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM, UNDERSTAND YOU DID IT AT YOUR OWN RISK KNOWING ALL THE RISKS INVOLVED. THIS IS JUST A SUMMARY OF MY ORDEAL WITH THEM. I AM A SMALL SCALE BUSINESS OWNER, JUST A YOUNG WOMAN, TRYING TO MAKE ENDS WITH THROUGH A SMALL BUSINESS OF BUYING ITEMS THAT ARE NOT READILY AVAILABLE IN NIGERIA. AND SELLING TO THOSE THAT NEEDS IT. I WAS LOOKING FOR A RELIABLE SHIPPING COMPANY I COULD USE THAT HAD AMAZING RATES, AND WITH JUST A FEW CLICKS, I CAME ACROSS THIS COMPANY, WHO PROMISED ME ALL THAT. I USED THEM FOR THE FIRST TIME, AND I RECEIVED MY ITEM AFTER 3 WEEKS, AFTER PLENTY CALLS AND EMAILS, THAT ALONE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN INDICATOR FOR THAT THESE PEOPLE AREN'T RELIABLE, BUT I DECIDED TO GIVE THEM A CHANCE AGAIN. IN NOVEMBER 2015, I MADE TWO SEPARATE BOOKINGS, ONE OF THE BOOKINGS CONTAINED SOME ITEMS THAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO USE FOR MY BIRTHDAY IN DECEMBER. I FELT, SINCE THE OTHER BOOKING I MADE PREVIOUSLY TOOK 3 WEEKS, I DECIDED TO GIVE THEM A FOUR WEEKS TO DELIVER MY ITEM, INCASE THEY CAME UP WITH EXCUSES WHY IT WOULDN'T BE DELIVERED WITHIN 5-10 WORKING DAYS AS THEY PROMISED. I KEPT ON CALLING AND CALLING THEM, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY PACKAGE WAS ON ITS WAY. IT EVENTUALLY GOT TO DECEMBER, AND I STILL HADN'T RECEIVED THE ITEM OR ANY INTEL AS TO WHEN I WOULD BE ABLE TO PICK IT UP, I SPENT OVER N5OOO ON CALLS TO THEM, AND EACH TIME I CALLED THEY ALWAYS HAD AN EXCUSE TO GIVE. I WAS SO FRUSTRATED, I EVEN CALLED ON MY BIRTHDAY TO KNOW IF I COULD COME TO PICK UP THE ITEM, BUT STILL NO SHOW. THEY TOLD ME ALL SORT OF LIES. EVENTUALLY ON THE 20TH OF JANUARY, ONE OF MY PACKAGES WAS READY FOR COLLECTION. THEN I HAD TO START WAITING FOR THE SECOND ONE. I WAITED AND CONTINUED THE CALLING AND AND EMAILING PROCESS AGAIN, AND STILL, NO SHOW. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SO BAD THAT EVEN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE THAT WOULD TALK TO YOU WOULD EVEN GO AS FAR AS SHOUTING BACK AT YOU AND BE ANSWERING YOUR QUESTIONS WITH ANOTHER QUESTIONS TO THE POINT THAT EVEN ONE DAY I CALLED AS USUAL, I ASKED THE GUY, PLEASE WHEN I'M I LIKELY TO PICK UP MY GOODS, HE TOLD ME "HOW IS HE SUPPOSED TO KNOW? THAT IS HE THE AIR PLANE BRINGING IT?" I KEPT REGRETTING MY DECISION TO YOU THIS COMPANY, I WENT TO THEIR OFFICE IN YABA TO COMPLAIN, NOT EVEN A SINGLE APOLOGY, ALL THEY TOLD ME WAS THAT IT HADN'T ARRIVED AND I SHOULD GO AND WAIT. EVEN THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES, KEPT CONTRADICTING THEMSELVES, THEY WOULD SAY THE ITEM, HAD LEFT THE US, THE NEXT TIME YOU WOULD CALL, THEY WOULD TELL YOU THE ITEM WAS STILL BEING PROCEESED. FINALLY IN MARCH 2015, I CALLED AGAIN, AND THEY TOLD ME THE ITEM WAS BEING SENT VIA SEA FREIGHT, THAT ONE OF THEIR STAFFS MISTAKENLY PUT THEM WITH THE ITEMS GOING BY SEA, I WAS LIKE "HUH" THAT I SHOULD BE PATIENT A LITTLE, THAT I WOULD RECEIVE THE ITEMS SOONEST, THIS WAS LIKE 3-4MONTHS LATER. I DECIDED TO WAIT. IN APRIL, I CALLED THEM AGAIN CONCERNING THE ITEMS, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY ONLY JUST SENT IT VIA SEA ON THE 18TH OF MARCH SO IT HAS TO TAKE 10-12WEEKS BEFORE I WOULD BE ABLE TO RECEIVE IT, I WAS PISSED TO MY BONES, I STARTED SHOUTING, AND THE GUY I WAS TALKING TO (HE GOES BY THE NAME UMAR) SAID I SHOULDN'T SHOUT, THAT IT WAS A MISTAKE, FORGETTING THAT THIS WAS AN ITEM THAT SUPPOSEDLY LEFT THE US BY AIR IN NOVEMBER 2014 (THIS WAS WHAT I WAS TOLD IN DECEMBER). OF COURSE, THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE I COULD DO OTHER THAN WAIT, CAUSE I HAD ALREADY MADE THE MISTAKE. I WAS ALREADY LOSING MONEY, CAUSE MY CUSTOMERS THAT PLACED ORDERS FOR ITEMS IN THAT SHIPPING, I HAVE HAD TO REFUND THEM THEIR MONEY IN FULL. ON THE 1ST OF MAY 2015, I RECEIVED AN EMAIL, SAYING MY ITEMS WERE IN NIGERIA AND BEING PROCESSED FOR DELIVERY, I JUMPED FOR JOY. IN FACT, I GAVE A SPECIAL THANKSGIVING OFFERING IN CHURCH ON SUNDAY, AND COULDN'T WAIT FOR MONDAY TO COME, SO I COULD GO AND COLLECT MY ITEMS. I CALLED THEIR OFFICE ON MONDAY TO ASK WHERE I WAS TO PICK UP MY ITEMS, AND I WAS TOLD TO GO TO THEIR BRANCH AT IKEJA. UNFORTUNATELY, I COULDN'T MAKE IT ON MONDAY, CAUSE I HAD A LOT OF ENGAGEMENTS, AND ON TUESDAY, THERE WAS A HEAVY DOWNPOUR IN LAGOS, SO I DECIDED TO GO ON WEDNESDAY BEING THE 6TH OF MAY 2015 (JUST YESTERDAY). I WENT UNDER THE LAGOS SCORCHING SUN AND GOT TO THE OFFICE, HAPPY TO COLLECT MY PACKAGE OF OVER 6MONTHS, I GAVE THE MAN THERE THE BOOKING NUMBER, AND THEN HE SAID TO ME, "WHO TOLD YOU YOUR PACKAGE WAS HERE" I TOLD HIM I CALLED AND I WAS ASKED TO COME AN PICK IT THERE. I FELT HE WAS GOING TO SAY THERE WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING, THAT THE PACKAGE WAS AT THE OTHER BRANCH, BUT INSTEAD, HE TOLD ME MY PACKAGE HASN'T EVEN GOTTEN TO NIGERIA, TALK LESS OF GOING THROUGH CLEARING. THEN I SHOWED HIM THEM MAIL I RECEIVED SAYING I SHOULD COME AND PICK UP MY ITEMS, THEN HE TOLD ME TO CALL THE OTHER OFFICE WHICH I DID, AND THE STUPID WOMAN THAT ANSWERED THE CALL TOLD ME THAT IT WAS FALSE ALARM, THAT SHE THOUGHT MY PACKAGE HAD ARRIVED. I WAS FILLED WITH HATE, ANGER AND FRUSTRATION, I FELT LIKE RUNNING DOWN TO THEIR YABA OFFICE AND SETTING EACH AND EVERYONE OF THEM THERE ABLAZE, BUT OF COURSE I CANT, CAUSE I DON'T WANT TO GO TO JAIL , SO I CARRIED MYSELF, BACK HOME TO CRY, CAUSE THERE IS ACTUALLY NOTHING I COULD DO BUT CRY. I TRIED THE NUMBER OF THEIR US OFFICE, BUT AS USUAL, IT WOULD ALWAYS SEND YOU TO VOICE MAIL. THIS IS THE 6TH MONTH, AND I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE ITEM, AND I MIGHT NOT EVEN RECEIVE IT TILL DECEMBER OR I MIGHT NEVER RECEIVE IT AT ALL, BUT IF I EVENTUALLY DO, I WOULD COME DOWN HERE TO TELL YOU GUYS. IF YOU STILL WANT TO GO AHEAD TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, UNDERSTAND THAT YOU RISK BEING LIKE ME AND NEVER GETTING YOUR ITEMS. A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE, CAUSE I WRITE THIS POST WITH SO MUCH PAIN IN MY HEART AND I WOULDN'T WANT ANY BUSINESS OWNER OR ANYONE IN GENERAL TO FEEL HOW I FEEL RIGHT NOW . I KNOW THE POST IS LONG, BUT I NEEDED YOU ALL TO GET ALL THE FACTS POSSIBLE. HAVE A BLESSED DAY. I wish I had read this last month b4 using them.
