Science/Technology / How To Find Out Your Smartphone's Android Version Number by Premiumstech(m): 2:26pm On Jan 08, 2018
Android versions of smartphones play important roles in today's mobile devices, one of the key functions is that they help in accessing high level Programs and Applications both online and offline. In most cases, Users of Android devices use Android versions to determine the capabilities and level of data processing of their smartphones.

The hierarchy in Android versions signifies that the recent version is proudly built to surpass its predecessors in all dimensions. For example, it is unwise to compare Android 1.5: Cupcake with Android 7.0: Nougat.

It is not only the Smartphone's Android version that you are going to be shown how to find but also, the name of your device, manufacturer, carrier, the Linux kernel version and the recent “Android security patch level”.

so let's start. Open the “app drawer” where the entire list of apps are installed on your phone and tap on the "Settings" icon. The App drawer is a button located at the bottom of your Home screen mostly at the center but sometimes at the corner.

Go to the “About phone” or “About tablet” tab in "settings" screen.

There, you will see your android version number with no name included. For instance, “Android 7.0” is displayed instead of “Android 7.0 Nougat”.

Also in that section, you will see the “Build number” and “Kernel version”. That tells you about the exact build of Android on your device and its Linux kernel version with build date. This information determines whether your device has the latest security patches.

In addition, you can see what each android version is represented with by tapping the “Android version” repeatedly.

Science/Technology / Toyota Creates A New Side Airbag For All Of Its Productions by Premiumstech(m): 9:57am On Jul 20, 2017
Toyota has come up with a new side airbag for all of its products no matter how big or small it looks like.

This was made possible by the effort of Toyoda Gosei, a company that manufactures automotive components and Toyota holds a 43% stake in the establishment.

The newly created airbag is equipped with a 3-bag structure for instantaneous deployment and efficient impact absorption in high-speed crashes.

The upper rear bag and lower bag of the structure deploys first, after which the upper front bag inflates at low pressure to gently protect the chest.

As earlier mentioned, the airbag fits a variety of vehicles, regardless of size.

The airbag is in use on the all-new ’18 Toyota Camry and is scheduled for use on approximately 2.5 million vehicles annually.

Science/Technology / Innovation: This Sports Bra Checks Your Heart Rate And Recharges As You Move by Premiumstech(m): 2:27am On Jul 13, 2017
It seems that the future is bright in terms of being in a clothe with a complete Electrical circuit system.

Just imagine your shorts, shirts, etc fully wired with an electrically conductive coating that collects sunlight to power our smartphones or continuously monitor our vital signs like a full-body Fitbit.

The innovation being talked about in this article is a stretchable, washable, non-metal coating that transforms any piece of clothing into a robust electrical conductor.

A team of scientists and engineers from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst have invented an impossibly thin conductive coating that can be applied at room temperature to any textile or material — cotton, wool, silk, polyester, leather, or plastic — without altering the look and feel of the garment.

The garment is coated with a conductive polymer that measures only 500 nanometers thick (one-tenth the thickness of a human hair), the fabrics can act as their own simple circuits.

The researchers or maybe Scientists also used the same available materials to turn an inexpensive sports bra into a wearable heart rate monitor with eight strategically placed sensors versus Fitbit’s one.

Trisha Andrew runs the Wearable Electronics Lab at UMass Amherst where the conductive coating was developed.

She said that her research team were inspired by the reactive vapor deposition process used in the semiconductor industry to make the silicon chips in all of our devices.

But instead of using 500-degree ovens and caustic chemical reactants to lay down nanolayers of material, Trisha Andrew’s lab used a room-temperature vacuum tube pumped with more environmentally friendly compounds from organic chemistry.

They penned down the procedures in a recent issue of the journal Advanced Functional Materials.

The result of the lab’s vapor deposition technique is highly conductive polymer called poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) — nickname PEDOT — that channels electricity as efficiently as the copper wiring in your house.

Andrew said that the flexible PEDOT coating overcomes the challenge of trying to design wearable circuitry for different types of materials with varying surface roughness and surface chemistries.

“Our method doesn’t care what you give us,” said Andrew, “whether it’s a sports bra from a big box store or a silk tulle dress from a very fancy boutique. If you want that transformed into something electronic, we can put a conductive coating on it.”

The sports bra heart monitor works when the thin circuitry on the bra touches the skin and registers the small changes in conductivity that accompany the sound waves generated by every heartbeat.

Andrew’s lab is getting the sports bra ready for the human testing stage and developing software that will analyze data from its eight sensors to produce a “smarter” picture of heart health.

Andrew’s lab has made other simple circuits that generate small amounts of heat and recently made a breakthrough on a separate method for actually generating electricity through your clothes.

The science is called the triboelectric effect. It happens whenever two materials rub against each other and create a surface charge, like rubbing your socks across a thick carpet.

Andrew and her team created a second polymer coating that acts as an insulator and wove together both insulating and conducting threads to make a triboelectric textile patch.

“As you tug or pat the material, it actually generates power,” said Andrew. “With all of your small body motions — bending, stretching, walking, twisting an arm — you’ll actually be generating power.”

Right now, the electricity is measured in microwatts, enough to run a Fitbit, but the long-term goal is to create a self-charging fabric that could one day power your smartphone.

Health / Scientists Discover The Receptor That Makes Weed Work by Premiumstech(m): 2:13am On Jul 08, 2017
Intake of weed by humans results to some fairly predictable results such as euphoria, hunger, introspection, anxiety, and a whole panoply of other effects. Also generally referred to as being high.

Most of that abnormal reaction is credited to a single cellular structure known as cannabinoid receptor 1.
Your body has CB1 receptors lacing the surfaces of cells in the brain, liver, lungs, fat, uterus, and sperm. And whenever your … friend smokes, dabs, or eats an edible, the tetrahydrocannabinol molecules therein bind to these sites, stimulating the cells to release a cornucopia of chemical signals.

A new research conducted shows that CB1 receptors are actually quite malleable, stretching to fit a wider range of molecules. That could be useful knowledge as researchers try to synthesize chemicals that mimic the desirable effects of cannabis (such as pain relief) without the side effects (such as anxiety, weight gain, addiction, or federal prosecution).

“People have been using cannabis for a variety of therapeutic indications for centuries,” says Alexandros Makriyannis, director of Northeastern University’s Center for Drug Discovery, and a co-author of this new research, published in Nature.

In the 1960s, scientists finally started to figure that out as well. And by the 1980s, Eli Lilly had developed a synthetic THC knockoff called Nabilone. “It was a good quality drug used for nausea from chemotherapy, and also pain,” says Makriyannis. But other THC-based synthetics never took off, in part because pharmacologists couldn’t eliminate all the unwanted side effects.
Still, cannabinoid receptors are such promising therapeutic targets that some researchers persist.

Makriyannis has been at it for decades, and has discovered dozens of compounds that interact with either CB1 or its cousin, CB2. THC, the active ingredient in weed, is just one of those. Your body even makes its own, called endocannabinoids, that are involved with modulating your appetite, mood, memory, and pain.

Scientists, including Makriyannis, have synthesized many more. And last year, he made an even more significant discovery: a compound that could turn the CB1 receptor off. An anti-high, if you will.

That discovery gave rise to this latest finding, of CB1’s malleability. See, the molecules that switch CB1 on—THC and other cannabinoids—are about 100 times smaller than the receptor they turn on. Curious, Makriyannis and his Northwestern team, along with researchers in China, California, and Florida, set about visualizing the receptor in various states of activation and deactivation using a technique called X-ray crystallography.

If X-ray crystallography sounds familiar, it’s probably because it’s the same technique Rosalind Franklin used to visualize the structure of DNA in 1952. Most molecules are too small for a typical microscope to see. This method gets around that turning the tiny molecule into a crystal—its structure repeated over and over again in the exact same orientation. X-rays pass through the crystal structure, then collide with a sensor on the other side.

The scientists collect that impression from the sensor, really just a bunch of data, and mathematically reconstruct the molecule’s shape.
CB1 receptors looks like a bundle of microscopic sausage links. The sausages, seven in all, are spirals of amino acids that weave in and out of a cell’s membrane. And they are very flexible.

When a cannabinoid goes into the receptor, the sausage links—called helices—coalesce around that receptor’s binding site. The big surprise came when Makriyannis’ group crystallized CB1 as it was binding to the THC-like molecules meant to switch it on. The crystallography revealed that two of the helices twisted and collapsed to fit around the molecule, shrinking the receptor to less than half its size when it received the off-switch molecule. Never mind the lock and key: CB1 is like a door that opens to the tune of many different secret knocks.

Makriyannis says this is a big breakthrough for his work, and that he’ll keep looking for new cannabinoid molecules. “We want to make compounds that will modify the receptor differently, so we can make better drugs,” he says. (He and his co-authors will present more of their work at the Chemistry and Pharmacology of Drug Abuse annual symposium from August 9 to 12 at Northeastern University.) His hope is that he can create finely-tuned molecules that will trigger CB1 to send anti-nausea signals to the body, without things like irritability, anxiety, or addiction. You could say he has a higher calling.

Health / See The Cause Of Your Bad Breath, Remove This And Solve The Problem by Premiumstech(m): 2:00am On Jun 26, 2017
In our today’s health tip, we will be looking at the major cause of bad breath. Some people have complained to have tried so many options but to no solution.
This article goes with a picture and a video that show practically how you can solve the problem of bad breath.

One of the major causes of bad breath is stones on the tonsils. You may be wondering what tonsils are, they are a pair of small masses of lymphoid tissue that lie on each side of the throat Which help to protect the body against infection.

These stones on tonsils release a nasty gas that smells like sulphur.

Stones in tonsils are actually just a lump of mucus, bacteria and stored food that collects in the back of the throat.

After the cluster hardens not only can you have a problem with your breath but you can also have problems and painfully will swallow the food.

These stones can sometimes just “fall off” but often needs to be resolved by surgical procedure.

Phones / How To Free Up Large Chunk Of Space On Your Iphone Or Ipad by Premiumstech(m): 7:36am On Jun 06, 2017
One of the annoying situations you would not like to be in is looking for a space in your iPhone or iPad to store data.

This may lead to letting important moments and information to pass you by. But never worry about that because this article will put you through to get enough gigabytes of space staring at you.

Straight to the ‘How to’

Photo Stream

Photo Stream is a medium Apple uses to allow you to take a photo on one device and make it accessible on other devices.
What you need to know here is, the photo gets duplicated and end up eating the wanted storage space.
Tap on Settings > Photos & Camera and switch off iCloud Photo Sharing.

Wipe out old text conversations

Old text conversations consumes some certain amount of space, delete is the only option here.
You don’t have to delete them manually, you can get iOS to do it automatically.
Head over to Settings > Messages and then scroll down and tap on Keep Message, and there you can set how long messages are kept.

Downloaded music optimization

If you still want to keep some music then Apple has a built-in setting that you can use to help keep your downloaded music under control/
To find it go Settings > Music > Optimize Storage, and then flip the switch to turn it on and then choose how much minimum storage you’d like iOS to try to maintain on your device.

Delete downloaded music

Music can really build up on the iPhone, but fortunately it’s easy to find and delete what you don’t want.
Tap on Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage and find Music or Apple Music (depending on which one you use) on the list. From there you can swipe left to delete individual songs or you can swipe on All Songs at the top to delete everything.

Find out what’s eating your storage space

There’s a quick and easy way to find out what’s eating your storage space in iOS – tap on Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage and under Storage tap on Manage Storage.
Here you get an overview of the space used and space available, plus a listing of all the installed apps, arranged in which ones are eating your storage space the most.

If you find something here that’s particularly terrifying, such as I have a lot of Podcasts, tap on it to get a screen that allows you to swipe left on the stored data to delete.
Some apps will not allow you to delete the data separately and you’ll have to delete the app too.

Streamline photos and video

Here are a few tricks to optimizing the photos you take.
Tap on Settings > Photos & Camera and here you can toggle off Keep Normal Photo under HDR (since this is likely to be a washed out version).
You can also set video and slo-mo quality – for maximum storage space set video quality to 720p HD at 30 fps and slo-mo quality to 720p HD at 120 fps.

Health / Causes Of A Morning Headache Revealed Causes Of Morning Headache Revealed by Premiumstech(m): 9:57am On Jun 03, 2017
Nothing changes someone’s mood like having early morning pounding headache immediately after waking up from sleep.
You might have wondered what could be the cause of the early morning headache you experience sometimes, this article will point out the major causes.

Straight to the points:

1 You slept too little

When you do not get enough sleep, your fight hormones kicks, resulting in increased heart rate, blood pressure stress and headache. Remember your body needs 7-8 hours of sleep to function normally.

2 Your feel good hormones are low

You can get a morning headache if your body’s production of feel-good hormones is low. Low levels of endorphins can affect the levels of serotonin which can restrict the blood flow to the brain and cause a headache.

3 You consumed alcohol

This is a no-brainer that consuming a lot of alcohol in the night can lead to a significant headache in the morning. Even a few drinks can get you dehydrated, reducing the blood flow to the brain and triggering a headache.

4 You are depressed

Depression-related headaches can hit you any time of the day, but they can particularly strike in the morning. Depression can mess with your sleep schedule and sleep too little, or too much can trigger a headache.

5 You slept too much

Yes you need 7-8 hours of sleep in a day but sleeping more than 9 hours can trigger a morning headache. Over sleeping can decrease the levels of serotonin in the brain which in turn can reduce blood flow to the brain and cause a headache.

Health / Experts: Vitamin D Supplements Can Serve As Pain Relievers by Premiumstech(m): 1:36am On May 26, 2017
The study which was published in the Journal of Endocrinology has it that the supplements used to treat Vitamin-D deficiency may also act as pain relievers.

According to the experts who carefully carried out the study, a good sleep together with taking vitamin D supplements can be beneficial in treating pain related to ailments like fibromyalgia, arthritis, menstrual cramps and even chronic back pain.

Vitamin D, also known as the sunshine vitamin, plays an important role by regulating the levels of calcium and phosphorus in our blood. The British Dietetics Association recommends about 15 minutes exposure thrice a week between 11 A.M to 3 P.M for your daily dose of Vitamin D.

Lack of sun exposure may lead to a Vitamin D deficiency that can be identified with symptoms like pain in bones or muscles, muscle cramps, day sleepiness and constant tiredness and fatigue. The treatment of this deficiency involved getting more Vitamin D through your diet and with the help of supplements. This new study suggests that these supplements may also be effective in effectiveness of pain management.

Apart from this study, other studies have shown that vitamin D can affect the body’s inflammatory response which also alter the sensation of pain. Researchers believe that if this simple approach is found to be effective it could reduce the burden of health services and also improve the lives of such patients. For the study, the team analysed the most relevant studies that have examined the role of vitamin D in pain-related conditions or sleep disturbances.

The results indicate that vitamin D levels may have an important role in the relationship between pain and sleep. According to researcher Monica Levy Andersen from Universidade Federal de Sao Paulo in Brazil, “it is necessary to understand the possible mechanisms involved in this relationship, including immunological and neurobiological pathways related to the inter-relationship between sleep, vitamin D and pain to find concrete evidence”.

Nevertheless, you can boost the level of vitamin D in your body system by spending some time in the sun daily, eat foods that are naturally rich in Vitamin D such as mushroom, eggs and fatty fish.

Health / Health News: Scientists Develop Diabetes Drug To Replace Insulin Injections by Premiumstech(m): 2:44am On May 24, 2017
Diabetic patients might no longer be injected with insulin but will start taking pills to treat their condition, so stated by a group of Australian Researchers.

Research led by the University of Adelaide is testing safer and more effective drugs to treat type-2 diabetes which will reduce side-effects and insulin injections.

According to the two studies which was published in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and BBA-General Subjection, it was revealed that the two new drugs could be more efficient in reducing blood sugar.

One of the main reasons that triggered this research was the unsafe and ineffective usage of insulin injections.
The two new drugs work by targeting a protein receptor known as PPARgamma found in fat tissue throughout the body to lower blood sugar by increasing sensitivity to insulin and changing the metabolism of fat and sugar.

The first study, undertaken in partnership with The Scripps Research Institute in the US, described 14 versions of a drug which worked by partially activating PPARgamma, an outcome which resulted in fewer side effects than full activation.

The second study which was in collaboration with South Australia’s Flinders University, used X-ray crystallography to demonstrate how a drug, rivoglitazone, binds with the PPARgamma receptor. Rivoglitazone fully activates PPARgamma but produced fewer side effects than other drugs that activate the same way.

Incase you are not much enlightened on this disease, type-2 diabetes is characterized by a resistance to insulin and subsequent high blood sugar, usually resulting from lifestyle factors like poor diet and lack of exercise.

According to John Bruning from the University’s School of Biological Sciences and Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing, developing safer and more efficient drugs is essential. He further stated that “prevalence of type two diabetes in Australia alone has more than tripled since 1990, with an estimated cost of 6 billion AU dollars ($4.5 billion) a year.”

Bruning said injecting insulin is problematic, and it is “highly desirable” for people to come off the injections as it’s difficult to get the levels right.

Health / See How Father's Vitamin D Intake Can Affect The Child's Height by Premiumstech(m): 2:33am On May 24, 2017
Most people have this believe that before conception, only the woman’s Health has direct impact in the unborn child but NO, the man’s Health is still saying something.
A new research which has been presented at the European Congress on Obesity in Portugal has found a strong link between a father’s vitamin D intake and the child’s height and weight at age five.

Vitamin D is an essential nutrient also known as the sunshine vitamin. It is produced in the body when the sun’s ultra violet rays come in contact with your skin.

The most important function of Vitamin D is that it regulates the amount of calcium and phosphorous in the body – both are elements that are vital for strong bones, teeth and also to keep your muscles healthy. The British Dietetics Association recommends about 15 minutes of sun exposure at least thrice a week and between 11 A.M to 3 P.M when the rays are the strongest to get your dose of Vitamin D.

For every research carried out, there must be an inspiration behind it. In this, the researchers were to find out whether it is only the mother’s vitamin D intake before pregnancy play an important role in the newborn’s musculoskeletal and overall health but, this time around scientists diverted their attention to access if the father’s vitamin D before conception intake can affect the child in any way and they came up with some significant results.

Researchers from the School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science at the University College in Ireland analysed the Lifeways Cross-Generation Cohort Study and found a link between a father’s vitamin D intake reported during the first pre-natal trimester and the height and weight of children at age five among 213 father-child pairs.

However, their findings did not show any association between a mother’s vitamin D intake during the first and second trimester and children’s weight.

The researchers also noted that three or more hours of playing outdoors over weekends was related to increased height at five years of age which further solidifies the fact that sunlight is essential for the production of Vitamin D which further helps in growth and development of the child.

Science/Technology / New Samsung's Galaxy S8 Smartphone Iris Security Scanner, Tricked To Unlock by Premiumstech(m): 2:26am On May 24, 2017
A recent uploaded video has triggered so many reactions and it was showing how the new Samsung’s Galaxy s8 smartphone eye-scanning security technology got manipulated with a photograph and a contact lens.

The Galaxy S8 Smartphone iris-scanner can be used to unlock the phone simply by looking at it, which Samsung says provides “airtight security”, but the recently uploaded video proves otherwise.

Samsung has said that they are aware of the issue and it’s website quote that irises are “virtually impossible to replicate”.
You may be wondering how the tight security system was bypassed, the researchers first set up the phone’s security by registering a volunteer’s eyes using the S8 iris scanner.
They then took a photograph of one of the volunteer’s eyes, using a digital camera with an infra-red night vision setting.

After printing the image, the researchers placed a contact lens over the photograph and the phone unlocked when it saw the fake eye.
Although, Samsung said its iris-scanning technology had been through “rigorous testing” to “prevent attempts to compromise its security”.
“If there is a potential vulnerability or the advent of a new method that challenges our efforts to ensure security at any time, we will respond as quickly as possible to resolve the issue.”

According to Security expert, Ken Munro, the discovery was “another reminder that biometrics is not a silver bullet”.
“Personally, I prefer fingerprints to iris unlock. Your fingers are already holding your phone, so why not use prints rather than wave your phone in front of your face?
“If you want to be really secure, choose fingerprints and a secret number. If you must have iris unlock, please walk everywhere with your eyes closed, so your iris can’t be photographed.”
Galaxy S8 owners have the option of using a password or secret number to unlock their phone, instead of using the iris scanner.

Health / Warning! Your Tattoo Might Not Be Safe, Here's What You Need To Know by Premiumstech(m): 2:35am On May 11, 2017
Let me shortly say that tattooing or tattoo is seen as a way of decorating the body by puncturing the skin and inserting colored substances under the surface.

Are you planning on getting a new tattoo for your skin? It is with utmost importance that you become aware of the recent report on the adverse reactions of tattoo to the body.

According to the reports received by the FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION (FDA), there are adverse infections from contaminated tattoo inks and allergic reactions to the inks themselves.

If you do get an infection from a tattoo, you might get a high fever and start feeling shaky and sweaty. A doctor would need to treat the infection with antibiotics, and in severe cases, you could be hospitalized and need surgery.

If you’re having an allergic reaction, you could develop a rash that doesn’t go away. Other times, you can get scar tissue in the form of bumps around the tattoo.

In reaction to the above received reports, a dermatologist, Sejal Shah stated that “With tattoos, customers should always understand that there is some uncertainty. “Ask them where they purchase their ink, how it is diluted — is sterile water used? — and stored, as well as their personal adverse reaction rates. In other words, how many of their clients have had infections or other issues?”

If you want to get a tattoo, the FDA recommends you look into the tattoo parlor and tattoo artist and make sure both the place and the technician follow state and local laws. And run far, far away from “do-it-yourself” tattoo kits.

If you develop a bad reaction to a tattoo, call your doctor immediately, then tell the tattoo artist so he or she knows not to use the ink ever again and also get lots of information about the ink used.

Health / Use Your Natural Eyes Without Any Glasses! Methods To Improve Your Vision by Premiumstech(m): 4:26pm On May 07, 2017
To some people, eyes are the most important organ in the body because it serves as the windows to the world and its importance can never be over estimated. Just like getting used to your everyday job or activity, the eyes require constant exercise and usage to avoid weakening of the muscles of the eyes.

Making use of eye glasses can be as a result of one shortcoming or the other but whatsoever the reason could be, you should take this underlisted methods serious inorder to throw away your glasses and make use of your natural eyes.

Don’t use your phone or laptop at least 2 hours before sleep

When you go outside, always look into the distance

Try out the Indian technique known as Trataka which is the practice of staring into an external object. This fixed gazing is a type of meditation which strengthens the muscles of the eyes and also stimulates the third eye. First, focus on some image or some object and pay attention to every thought and feeling crossing your mind; the mind needs to be completely absorbed with the item. Continue staring until the eyes become watery, which is when you need to close them and relax.

Wash the eyes with lukewarm water
Drink carrot juice with several drops of olive oil daily

Apply light pressure on the eyeball with the help of the index and middle finger
Stop wearing glasses

Close the eyes for couple of minutes every 2 to 3 hours per day

Science/Technology / Online Security: How To Double Your Online Privacy by Premiumstech(m): 10:20am On Apr 24, 2017
Nobody would say that he has never had anything to do with the Internet. In this current century, virtually “everything” can be done on the internet (online) and so, why are you not thinking about protecting your online activities? So many people’s internet activities have been tracked with various tools without their knowledge and you should not fall prey to that. This little security tips will keep you away from online predators.

Work with a VPN

A virtual private network has so much benefits. Not only does it give a certain amount of anonymity when it comes to your internet habits, but it can also be used to change your geographical location. That is not only good for people fighting against being tracked – whether it’s by advertisers or something a little more sinister – but it also means you’ll be able to get around those pesky geographic locks that mean you can’t access content because you’re in a particular country.

There are free VPNs out there supported by advertising, or ones that give you a limited amount of use, such as Tunnelbear, but if you plan on streaming video or doing any heavy use, you’ll be better off signing up for a paid monthly service.

But beware: not all VPNs are created equal. Some VPN providers can still sell on your internet activity to third parties.

Go incognito

The most commonly used browsers began offering the option for private browsing a few years ago. Chrome calls it Incognito mode, Safari uses Private mode, but essentially, they do the same thing: they won’t store cookies or a list of the pages you have visited on your computer, tablet or smartphone. But this has limited value. While it won’t store cookies, the browser’s privacy mode will only really stop other people from spying on your internet activity by looking at your device. It won’t hide your IP address from advertisers, or your identity from servers of websites that you visit. However, it is the most easily implemented, and a good first step.

Perhaps more useful is the Do Not Track option. Turning this on – usually found under Settings – will send a request to a website not to track your browsing data. However, not all websites will abide by it, and may still track your data. So don’t depend on it too heavily.

Use Tor

Have you ever heard of Tor? It stands for The Onion Router and what it does is cover your tracks online by routing your internet connection through a number of different locations worldwide. Instead of your internet traffic going directly from your computer or tablet to the server, Tor will bounce your connection through several locations to create a more difficult to follow path.

It doesn’t guarantee full anonymity online, but it will make it a little more difficult to build a picture of your internet activity.
You can use a Tor browser or hardware to connect to the internet and make yourself harder to track.

Privacy protection

You can block your internet activity from being tracked to a certain extent by installing a browser extension which will block cookies and ads from websites that don’t implement Do Not
Track requests.

Privacy Badger, for example, will essentially hide you from advertisers and use a handy colour coded aid to show you exactly what it’s doing. Adblocking technology has its own drawbacks, and some websites may require you to switch extensions such as Privacy Badger off before you can access free content.

Use third party DNS services

When getting online, most of us use the default domain name system servers our internet service providers set up for us. The domain name system is essentially how the easy to remember web address you type into the address bar on your browser is matched up with the unique numerical IP address that identifies a website.

If you use the default ISP servers, all your internet traffic goes through these servers and consequently, can be tracked by your ISP. But it can be more secure and certainly more private if you use a different DNS service. It can also speed things up for you a little. One option to consider is OpenDNS; Google also offers its own Public DNS service.

Health / 4 Must Apply Tips For Runners Getting Ready For Their First Distance Race by Premiumstech(m): 1:10am On Apr 16, 2017
There are so many reasons why we run, some run for competition while others run for the fun of it. But whatsoever be the reason, there should be proper preparations before engaging in it so that there won’t be any form of injury.

Here are 4 tips that will keep you zooming while doing what you like.

1. Know thyself

Let me say that as our faces are different, so as our body capabilities. Trying to double your usual training distance because of a competition in a day will only put you at high risk of injury. Instead of doing that, try putting up a training plan that will gradually make you achieve your aim within a given period of time. For example- if you have a race in few weeks and you think you have not covered such distance, try taking maximum of 10% of the total distance in a week or days as the case may be.

2. Give yourself between 16 and 20 weeks to train

The duration of your training plan depends on your current fitness level and the distance for which you are preparing. Twenty weeks is a sufficient amount of time to let your body and lifestyle adapt to a training schedule. The longer time frame also allows some flexibility should any unexpected events like sickness occur, which may delay your training schedule.

3 Ask for support and motivation

It depends on the reason why you are running- if you are going for the competitive track event, you should atleast endeavor to hook up with a friend that it’s really good at running and maybe even better than you but not equally engaged in the running competition. Running with him will make the whole training process lively and enjoyable.
Every competitive event/activity requires a motivator or mentor. You must have a person that has achieved it before you so that you will be confident in yourself that it is achievable.

4. Practise along the real running course

Once you have built up your endurance, see if it’s possible to run the race route on your training runs. These are a rehearsal for the real thing, so test out what will work for you on race day itself.

As race day approaches, you might feel nervous, but don’t lose your confidence. Think about how you have been readying yourself for the crack of the starting pistol and enjoy the experience.

Health / Stay Healthy Tips For The Month by Premiumstech(m): 3:12am On Apr 03, 2017
As we have started a new month, there are some certain things we need to do inorder to take care of our body in its entirety. Taking care of it doesn’t depend on one food, drug, a certain activity and so on. But it rather depends on the overall day to day activities including what we eat, drink, the type of exercise etc. Here are some tips that will carry you along the month of April.

Quit Smoking: This might be your greatest challenge if you want to quit, try and disclose this habit to a friend or sibling(s) that will keep check on you. He/They will be the ones to stop you whenever the urge is felt. Also, talk to your doctor about medications that can double your chances of quitting for good.

Show Gratitude: Instead of focusing on what your body can’t do or how you wish your body looked, try expressing gratitude for where you are now and the opportunity to make improvements. As far there is life, there is hope and improvement. Too much of thinking wears the body out and it kills.

Walk more: Aim to get at least 150 minutes of moderate activity, such as walking each week to assist in weight maintenance and overall health. Don’t underate the power of exercise, it has numerous healing benefits and walking is an exercise.

Schedule sleep: Make sleep a priority to enjoy a more focused, energy-filled lifestyle. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep each night. Create a relaxing bed-time routine and change your electronic device settings to the “night-shift” mode.

Stay positive: Health goals don’t always go as planned. When you face challenges, focus on all of the positive changes you have made, no matter how small they seem. Treat yourself with kindness, like you would a good friend. No changes in the body should be taken for granted because so many people have died due to the fact they belittle what they thought was “small sickness”. Constantly go for regular medical checkup.

Science/Technology / Facebook Messenger Now Allows You Share Your Live Location With Friends by Premiumstech(m): 12:09pm On Mar 28, 2017
Within one hour, you can share your live location with one or more friends with this new Facebook messenger live location feature.

By turning on Live Location in Messenger for iOS or Android, whomever you share your location with will see where you are in a map view. They’ll also get an ETA, based on how long it should take someone to arrive at the destination by car. Users can turn off Live Location at any time by selecting Stop Sharing before the 60 ticks time limit is up.

To use this feature on iOS, select the Location icon or More icon, then hit “Location.” You’ll see your current location on a map and a blue bar along the bottom to turn on Live Location.
To cease sharing your location, select Stop Sharing, also located along the bottom of the screen. Facebook says a small clock will let you know how much longer location sharing will be live.

Using Android to share your location, select the Location or More icon and choose “Location.” The only real difference is the design of the little countdown clock.

In addition to this feature, Facebook is also keeping the ability to share a static location, great if you’re meeting up with someone at an unfamiliar spot. Instead of selecting Share Live Location, you’ll drop a red pin and can share its coordinates with your friend(s).

Health / Health Tips: Times You Shouldn't Drink Water by Premiumstech(m): 2:56am On Mar 22, 2017
Yes, it’s advised to drink a specified amount of water per day depending on the individual concerned. It means that Health challenge(s) is a factor for a certain amount of water required by your body per day. You might not be aware of this but it is true that there are sometimes you need to keep away from water when certain signs are being noticed by you in your body system. This article will help you to know when to do away with the abundant element (H2O).

1) Drinking too much water before a big meal

Health analysts have said it over and over again that to cut a few calories or when a craving hits, drink a glass of water before meal. Maybe due to lack of water intake control, people tend to take more than just a glass before a big meal and it’s not good because the person will feel more bloated. Not only that, the water/fluid will take up the space of the food in the stomach.

2) When you’ve drank a lot

It’s incredibly rare, but it’s possible to drink so much water you put your health at risk. If you drink enough to dilute your body’s natural balance of salt, you can become too low in sodium, a condition known as hyponatremia. Hyponatremia can also be caused by certain issues with the liver, kidney, heart, or pituitary gland, as well as by certain medications, like diuretics, antidepressants, and pain medications.

3) When the water has no sweet secret

Studies have shown that people now prefer the fanciful flavored-water to the regular water. But I want to remind you that flavored waters often rely on zero-calorie sweeteners to add a little something to the plain ol’ water taste. Because these sweeteners have been linked to increased hunger and even weight gain in some studies, commercially available flavored waters might do you more harm than good. Instead, try adding your own flavor to tap water by tossing in lemon, lime, cucumber, watermelon, berries, or even herbs.

4) When your urine is clear

So how do you know you have had enough? Forget that old “eight glasses a day” rule and start observing the toilet. If you see a light lemonade shade, you’ve reached optimal hydration status. If you see only clear urine in the bowl, you can probably cut back your water intake a little. Darker yellows can be a sign it’s time to drink more.

5) When you are engaging in a serious work for sometime

We lose electrolytes, like potassium and sodium, through sweat. If you’re seriously sweating it out, you’ll need to replace those crucial nutrients, which aren’t found in plain water. Rather than a sugary sports drink, though, you may be able to get the same boost from coconut water, which is naturally high in potassium, magnesium, sodium, and vitamin C without as many calories and with more fiber.

Science/Technology / Photos: This Robot May Help You Carry Things After Shopping by Premiumstech(m): 8:28am On Mar 17, 2017
The value of life is being improved upon as the days goes by, starting from the creation of things. Not everybody would have the strength to carry whatsoever he must have bought from the stores down to his home. Sometimes it could be heavy or even bigger than one person to carry. A robot named Gita is produced to help you in this aspect.

Gita is a large, roundish follow-me robot from Piaggio Group, on wheels that can schlep our stuff while it navigates urban sidewalks and other tight spaces. The robot’s prototype that weighs 75-pound certainly made quite an impression on passersby as it rolled down a busy Avenue. Several people stopped to gawk at Gita and snap pictures during a demonstration, and to ask: What is it?

Permit me to say that Gita is partially a Cargo Robot. It has a compartment big enough to carry a case of wine, roughly 40 pounds, suggesting that a couple of years from now consumers might employ just such a robot to shop for their household items. It can operate around 8 hours on a lithium ion battery, charged by plugging it into a regular outlet.

What you need to know about Gita

You might walk to the store or ride a bike instead of driving, and have Gita follow behind. It can follow you home, too, or you can unleash Gita on its own to deliver whatever it is you bought. Gita can capture 360-degree video and its movements can be tracked, useful if someone tried to mess with your stuff while the robot was in transit. It can also operate inside a house.

Though it can work autonomously and in a convoy with other robots, Gita is meant to learn from the human operator who controls it while donning a wearable of some sort. “We think that human intelligence is a way more powerful tool to teach robots the complexities of the world than to try to have robots figure out the complexities on their own,” says Jeffrey Schnapp, the Chief executive. “Having humans at the steering wheel is a good thing.”

It is operated by the person walking next to it, who wears a special belt. Sensors on Gita can help it avoid obstacles and the robot has the smarts to plan its routes. Gita can back up, move forward and rotate on its own axis. It can also move at human speeds, from a crawl on up to 22 mph.

“Gita behaves just like you do as a pedestrian,” Schnapp says.

For now, it can’t ride an elevator, climb stairs or on its own detect a red light, though that could change in the future if such lights were wired into a city network. “It’s perfectly conceivable we could design our vehicles to cross stoplights but that’s not the world we live in right now,” Schnapp says.

Piaggio, the company that manufactures Gita, plans to lease or sell the robot for commercial purposes when it first goes into production in 2018. Along those lines, you might see Gita in resort communities and hotels, shopping malls, urban authorities, parks, campuses and so on. Gita can also be used to map indoor spaces and sidewalks that are difficult to map using other methods. Piaggio is opening up the platform to developers and companies who may want to customize the robot for their own use. It hasn’t disclosed a sticker price.

Health / Increase Your Brainpower With These Simple Tips by Premiumstech(m): 3:13am On Mar 13, 2017
Lets just say that your brainpower determines the level of your smartness. High brainpower equates to high level of smartness and Intelligence.

Here are some few tips that Can help you to boost your brain power.

1) Use your less dominant Hand

Many don’t know about this but using your less dominant Hand at daily interval increases your brainpower. Concentration and commitment is required to achieve this, it is just like making your brain to be compatible with a new body part. For example, if you are right handed, try performing some everyday tasks with your left hand.

2) Choose activities that make you concentrate

Instead of choosing the easy option, try making things a little harder for yourself. Try imagining to be in a situation that you are solely relied on by others for solution, like answering a question that requires mental reasoning.

3) Play with dice and word games
Yea, you should engage yourself with games like Scrabble, chess, Crosswords, Yahtzee, Sudoku, Scrabble e.t.c. The mental work required on these games increase the brainpower.

4) Listen to classical music
I decided to make this tip the last for a reason. Spend time each day listening to uplifting classical tunes such as Mozart, Beethoven or even yanni. It helps to put you in a positive frame of mind and your brain actually positively responds to it.
Classical musics are those musics written down in music notation by musicians who are based in the art of writing music so that other musicians can play it.

Health / 4 Proven Tricks To Keep Flies Away From Your Home by Premiumstech(m): 3:50am On Mar 09, 2017
You can attest to the fact that flies are really disturbing and annoying. They also make sounds that are very irritating.
Flies are major carriers of diseases and are known to transfer more than 100 pathogens that can result in illness, including cholera, typhoid, tuberculosis, and dysentery. They collect those pathogens on their legs and mouths when feeding on trash, faeces and other decaying material.

Having a clean and healthy environment does not mean you can’t find at least a fly around your home. You can checkmate their activities with these proven tricks.

1) Milk Sugar Pepper Traps

This type of trap works on all flies, most effectively on fruit flies. What you have to do is, take a saucepan and heat up one cup of milk, three teaspoons of sugar, and one tablespoon of pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer for five to 10 minutes and then pour the mixture in a shallow bowl. Now, place the bowls around the infested areas. The flies will immediately be attracted to this mixture and drown right after landing in the bowls. After a day or two, be sure to clean everything out and dispose of all the dead flies.

2) Lemongrass Oil Repellent

Flies hate the smell of lemongrass, which means that it is yet another fantastic natural resource for eliminating flies from your home and garden. To get the most out of this technique, heat up about a half cup of water and add in about 20 to 25 drops of lemongrass oil. Put it all in a spray bottle and spray all of your doors, windows, and infested surfaces. Not only does this mixture repel flies in a very effective way, but it also will make your home smell good and give it an aroma with a hint of fresh citrus.

3) Camphor candles or Oil

Camphor candles or oil works just as well as any citronella product, but both of these are highly recommended for indoor and outdoor fly problems. It’s helpful to allow the candles to work up to half an hour prior to sitting or working around an area that you might think is infested with these insects.

4) Slices of Cucumber

Flies react spontaneously against the smell of cucumber, so one of the best ways to deter them from laying eggs in your garbage is to put slices of cucumbers right on top of the can. This will discourage them from going anywhere near the trash, which can be especially helpful during those hot summer days. In addition to that, placing cucumbers around all areas of “risk” for flies will keep them away before they even have a chance to seek out and discover the places they might want to lay their eggs.
