I would buy a phone because of its brand's name. The reason is because of durability and spare parts availability. When techno tecno first came out, I bought d tab and it didn't last up to 6 months. I tried to repair it, I even had to send it to Lagos for repairs all to no avail. After that, I bought a Samsung phone ie Samsung Grand. I used it for two years ie 2014-2016 without any problem. My husband bought me an iPhone 6 and I had to sell d Samsung. I have been using d IPhone since January 2016 till date. No problem has arised whatsoever. I think when one wants to go for a phone, the person should first consider d brand. Brands matter a lot. Not just any brand but d one that has stood the test of time. Not all those China headache giving phones. In this your survey, I choose the price cus most phones with good brands are expensive.

coolpad is better than most of these android fones i'v seen. It's the first android fone i'v loved and used. I'll send you pictures as soon as I get home. Trust me, coolpad beats lots of the fones out there. I'v been using iphone and BlackBerry for years until I found this coolpad. BTW, it's a global fone. Check ebay and oda online stores where u won't find the likes of tecno and infinix

Seriously, I doubt anyone would want to associate Fingerprint and 2GB RAM with 30k especially mainstream brands. So you should be looking at products like Innjoo, Xiaomi, Infinix, Tecno etc.

As far as i can tell, these options are the closest you can get to fingerprint and 2GB RAM and still manage to have anything like 30k mentioned along side the asking price.

1. Infinix Hot 4 X557: You will need to add N5,200 to get this phone at N35,200. Click here to see prices from 5 stores.

2. Innjoo 2 is another product but you need to add N9,000 which am not sure is a good suggestion but you can check it out here and see offers from 3 stores.

Another thing you could also do is to subscribe to price drop alerts on any of these product pages and you will be notified when there are mega price slashes across any of the stores.

Who knows, you just might be in luck. Buying on a budget needs to be timed and calculated to achieve the best results.

Facts man. Cos if u spend cash once on a Samsung(or high quality) product, u will be sure of using it for a long time(unless u get careless), but u will treat tecno product like an egg n it will still spoil and to repair will give u headache. U end up noticing that if u bought a Samsung product maybe 100k u coulda used it maybe 3 years(b4 selling it) but u end up buying 4 or 5 tecno products in the same 3 years and u end up spending more and also going thru soo much stress

If you have used as many phones as I have. Youll get to a point that you no longer care. Youll see all of them as just phones. Same way you see fridges as fridges. Android,ios,10gb ram,1gb ram. At the end of the day. They re still phones

I check the Specs first then look at my pocket, if it's pocket friendly... There is no point in buying a phone and the end of the day you start complaining of bad camera, low Ram or bad clockspeed. Specs Abeg!

BTW does looking at specs first make you end up with a phone that is slightly above budget? I mean to an extent.

That doesn't neglect the flagship killers or budget phones with great specs and cheap price tag. A quote from MKBHD "Good phones are getting cheaper and cheap phones are getting better".

Mind you some phones might be packing in the spec on paper but can barely perform in functionality.

I really like your perspective and how you approached the post though you haven't chosen any of the options and it quite understandable because one is directly proportional to the other.

SO, do you store up say 75k for any phone that catches you fancy or do you buy a phone because you love the specs and willing to fork out the asking price?
