Ok thanks. Suppose fan blowing wrong direction will the engine not over heat? Also i put a piece of paper on the condenser and it sucked it..not so sharply though. Sucking is weaker in the areas away from the fan. Watching the vid now.

the condenser is not doing its job, it either the fan or the condenser, heat exchange, heat exchange, small sense no good.

Make we explain how this thing works, you no gree, okay na stop using the ac system. That water you poured on the condenser cools the condenser and removes heat from the hot refrigerant that is comming from the compressor, if it does not do it on its own, maybe the fan is not blowing well, try using your house fan and place it in front of the condenser and see what happens,
for me I will check the condenser for blockage using an infrared thermometer, or If you can, just replace the condenser and the fan. Since that is what you want.

Can normal home infrared thermometer do the job?
U need to relax and communicate like the others. All this side jabs in unnecessary. Besides i didn't say i wanted to change the fan and condenser.

Explaining the symptoms, and also what my AC tech guy said. I came here to seek more professional advice instead of changing this and that.

THE SYMPTOMS ARE CONFUSING...IF IT CHILLS WHEN WATER is poured on the condenser, then that implies an overcharged system...cos the water reduces the pressure.......for it to be chilling only at highway speeds/rpm is usually a sign of low refrigrant!

ur best bet is to throw a pair of manifold guages on it...tell us the lowside n hiside pressure....anything higher than 50lowside n 250hiside is a sign of over filled system...the sweet spot is usually 35/40 n 180/220 low n hise based on naijas ambient temp...

if over filled...simply bleed off a lil gas n observe the cooling again

Let me explain a bit more. There is this guage he used when filling the gas. Its at 60 when AC not cooling. When he pours water on the condenser, and it starts cooling, the guage drops to 40.
At high speed still does not cool enough but u can feel some cool breeze unlike when idle. This happens in thr day time, as u know how hot the sun use to be.

At night, weather is now cool, so it cools in idle. But i bliv it should be cooler cos sometimes i still put the fan speed in 3, ideally it should be in 1, or worse case 2.

I hope u understand better now.

I suspect your condenser. If not blocked, it may be a single cell, which is not delivering enough cooling like double cell condenser.

Its single cell as it has one fan. But thats how ot was bought. The fan have been worked in before. When i pour water on the condenser it starts cooling well. Once it dries up, it stops working. Cools to a fault early mornings or nights. Means it has to do with the condenser cooling. Again the thermostat does not kick in for a while....guess, cos the AC not working well

Use a manifold guuage as a guide. Start the car while the car is idling insert your manifold guage both on low pressure side and high pressure side. While the car is running rev your car to about 2000 rpm, put on your ac, max. While reving go to the guage and take your reading

if your low side is high and high side is low and the needles are vibrating means there is a fault in the compressor.

If your low side is lowvand the high side is high it means there is a blockage in the system. Expansion valve

If the low side is low and high side is low it means the system is low on refrigerant

If the low side & high side are high it means the system is over charged

Let me explain how the AC system works.
The compressor pressures the system, it sucks the gas from the big hose and forces it into the small hose ( low pressure side is the big hose, high pressure side is the smaller hose), when this happens, the temperature of the high pressure gas rises, then it goes into the condenser as a hot high pressure gas, the condenser is a radiator for the AC system it gets rid of the heat in the gas, when it is too hot then the fan kicks in to help on the heat exchange, then the removal of heat will make the gas to become liquid and goes to another radiator in the cabin compartment, this radiator is called evaporator, ( As its name implies it is the exact opposite of the condenser, if you know your state of matter in ss1 physics abi chemistry) but the refrigerant must pass through a device called the expansion valve in some cars or orifice tube in others, before getting into the evaporator, evaporate into a cold low pressure gas, your blower motor blows air over the cold evaporator and cools the car interior.

I am having this issue with my 08 toyata matrix.

The AC only cools at night, and still not very sharp...but better than day, especially when very hot.

The AC guy said the compressor as a low pump, so i got another for 17k.

The issue now is this one is worse. Doesn't even cool in the day at all except on top speed. Now am beginning to feel it wasn't a compressor issue, but the AC guy insists the other compressor has low pump and this is better.

This issue now is when he checks the guage of the gas when not cooling, its high to 60, but when he pours water on the condenser it starts cooling, and drops to like 40.

Now he said the fan is not the fan meant for the Matrix, thats why its not cooling, trully the fan have been changed before. He said its not sucking enough air.

But the issue is the first compressor was still cooling abit at day time, but this is not at all. And he claims its cos this new compressor is working fine with high pressure, that is why its failing as air is not flowing to the condenser well.

The older compressor still cools a little even in hot sun. Just a little. Enough for u sitting in front with fan on 3. But that is still abnormal.

The compressor i just got does not cool at all in the day. Except u on top speed, then it cools a little.

Note condenser is not blocked as it has been flushed of late with high pressured water.

1. Which comprossor is better with what i explained so far

2. Could it be the fan trully?

Don't say what u don't know. People build houses on "Right of way" if its not houses, they extend their fences or build shops on the right of way. Sometimes its shanties. They do this with the believe they would have enjoyed the benefits before development reaches the areas or b4 the government thinks pf expansion or building what was on the master plan.

Even if there is a master plan, there is room for corrections and additions as long as those affected will be adequately compesated.
