Successlane: Does the word 'genocide' applies to Christianity alone? I taya o. As far as every 'sincere' citizen in Nigeria knows, there are various forms of genocide happening across the nation.
Violence in the country has affected people of different religions and ethnicities.
Churches and mosques have both been attacked.
Victims have included Christians, Muslims, and adherents of traditional religions.
Some Most of these attacks are terror-related, ethno-political, or criminal, and while some may appear to target certain communities |

I agree with the bolded, but who will speak for muslims? Does muslim lives not matter too?? And I speak as a christian. We need to be wholistic in this matter. Is america going to come and help us bomb only the terrorists 'targetting' christians in the middle belt and neglect the terrorists slaughtering the muslims killed in kwara, zamfara, kaduna, maiduguri etc? If the answer is 'No', then why do we make it seem allow non-state actors and disgruntled nigerians to make it seem the terrorists are targeting ONLY Christians?? madridguy: I am a Muslim and every killings in Nigeria has reasons. What is happening in the middlebelt is different from what is happening in Northwest. If President Tinubu ban open grazing today, the middle belt will have atleast 60% rest of mind from herdsmen attack. |

And who were being (majorly) killed in kwara, zamfara, maiduguri etc? Are they not muslims? It just so happens that christians are the majority in the middle belt, hence making it seem christians were being targeted. These terrorists care about their goals: resource (land and mineral) grabbing. Whatever obstacle in front of them - be it muslim or christian - becomes 'xollateral damage'. It's Only an ignorant or lying nigerian who doesn't know that more muslims have been killed by these terrorists than christians.madridguy: Na only Chriatians dem dey kpai for middlebelt. From the impulsive tone of your write-up, I can safely guess you are from south east or laslas igboid. MadPolitician: Cowardly move.. This is what gets me irritated with these blundering colony of administrative misfits that run Nigeria. How can the leader of the biggest black nation on earth be running like a terrified toad in the middle of the afternoon to the United States capital, just because the president of the United States threatened to bomb some terrorists? No other dignified way to handle that?
Note: president Trump didn't threaten to bomb Aso rock or to bomb Lagos. He threatened to bomb terrorist camps that we have been told overtime by the Nigerian government to be in the inner forrests of the north and in the deserts, and are all full of "Libyan mercenaries" and all that..
Why is the president of Nigeria more worried about the American threats towards proven terrorists than with the eliminations of these camps? Why not send "Nigerian commados" to eliminate these camps, rather than rushing to Washington like "nwa boi" to beg Trump!? What matters most? The lives of ordinary Nigerians being slaughtered by these "Libyan", or the beleaguered image of an over traumatised country/presidency? And what if he 'mistakenly' bombed lagos, aso rock, your family house back in the village, and he tells you: "it's collateral damage", what will you do? Fight him with ESN?? The reasons he gave for planning to invade nigeria is ABSOLUTELY different from why he wants to do it, but based on your (plural) antecedents, I don't expect you (plr) to agree. All of a sudden trump 'cherishes' nigerian christians. Na so e easy? Everything nor be by gragra! |

You guys are politically naive.....or better put, delusional! What gain/benefit did kanu and by extension - s/e - offer Tinubu as an ordinary contestant in 2023 election?? Nil! Is it now that -as an incumbent- when most of the nigerian governors have waved their olive branch by porting to his political party that kanu's release will benefit him? Mention just ONE south east governor who wants kanu released. ONE, not two!You guys have disappointed Nigerians. We thought you are very wise. Obviously, apart from trading and 'book', una nor too dey logically conscious like that! (Not all of you, but the vast majority!) ShoeMarket: You see this MNK of a guy, Tinubu will use him for something, that is why he is still keeping him. What most Nairaland ranters don't know is that this is the kind of guy Tinubu likes to have around him. The only thing is time is not yet ripe, once it is many golden tongues here will become lead.
Let me ask you ranters, if you are sensible, you are a politician and you have someone like MNK in detention what will you do with him? Kill him or strategically use him to your advantage? The guy is too sound for any sensible politician to waste him just like that.
The problem of Nairaland is that most people type and don't think, no logic, no strategic thinking nothing. To them everything is about hate Igbos, unfortunately, that tendency have drained their brain that they can't reason anymore.
Mark my words. Even if he releases him, southeast will still not support him! |

But sha,o if Lagos is yaraba united states, what is iragbiji, Ogbomosho, Oshogbo, etc Every other tribe in nigeria knows this apart from igbós! It's not rocket science nau. |
Politics › Re: Lagos Is Yoruba United States — Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu by Prince16: 3:50pm On Oct 30, 2025 |
The bolded is what we have been telling igbós for eons. Yoruba culture is totally different from igbós. Yorubas are one. It's igbós that always try to divide them by flying the flags of 'yoruba-christian vs yoruba moslems' 'lagos yoruba vs ekiti yoruba vs ibadan yorubas' etc. That division that's entailed in alaigbo is what they are projecting on others. Common sense demands that when u - as a stranger - get to a foreign land, you keep your mouth shut and don't meddle with their affairs, but ndigbos say no. And this is why igbós will continue to have problems in every locality they find themselves. Moveittothem: So, it's okay for someone from Ekiti state to become a governor in Lagos state, but someone from Lagos state can't be a governor in Ekiti State?
This confirms that Lagos is truly a no-mans-land, albeit, for yoruba people.
Fair enough. |
