The electoral act of Nigeria says that if a prospective candidate of a political party makes any false declaration in his electoral form, his candidature can be nullified, before or after the election.

Its no secret that former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, is nursing a Presidential ambition and is expected to declare his bid for the Presidency some time next year. However, there are three controversies about Tinubu that could derail his ambition because all three will be connected to his electoral form, if he becomes the APC Presidential flag bearer. They are :

Age. Tinubu's official age is 69, he was born in 1952 and will be 70 years old next year. However, some people who know Tinubu better than most if us, claim that he is well into his 80's. Late Afenifere spokesman, Yinka Odumakin, claimed in 2019 that Tinubu was in his 80's and that his first wife died at the age of 74. Even famous veteran musician, Charlie Boy, said there was no way he could be older than Tinubu, and Charlie Boy is 71. I hope Tinubu is telling the truth about his age because once he makes his ambition public, his political enemies will put their searchlight on his age

State Of Origin. There has been this long running talk that Tinubu is not originally from Lagos, that he is from Osun State. People claim thats where he was born and raised before relocating to Lagos. Tinubu will have to fill in his State Of Origin when he fills out his electoral form and if he puts down Lagos, he better pray nobody remembers him from Osun

[Name: There is this saying 'what is in a name?'. Like most forms you fill, the first thing asked is your name, and I suspect it will be so in the electoral form. People have claimed that the name "Bola Ahmed Tinubu" is not the name Tinubu was born with. They say he had a completely different name in the first part of his life and only adopted his present name to throw people off the scent of his past, namely his real age and origins. Of course, change of name is allowed if done legally. Did Bola Ahmed Tinubu previously have another name? If so, why did he change it? And more importantly, did he change it legally to what he will put down on his electoral form? Time will tell

Expect these three controversial things about Tinubu to come up when he declares his Presidential ambition and you can bet that APC will be very hesitant to give him their Presidential ticket if they are not satisfied he is not wanting in any of the three
