Ishilove: Princesa, you err. People that have Chuck's ability, though not common, exist.

the story cuts across fantasy AND supernatural thriller.
supernatural thriller? Is that a new genre? I really need to catch up on the ever evolving world of literature. sad

and I guess you're right, such abilities scantily exists. Apt examples should be prophets, imams and traditional priests i think... And theirs exist on a supernatural level, definitely not like an average Nigerian out there hustling in the street. (or are there? huh )

@Ella and Iko, thanks for the vote of confidence, but 'our' oga is here, I'd rather like to revert to my 'ghost mode levels' grin

Mr shroud: my stand, still applies sweetpea, we still just want to believe its real.
cos some of us won't just catch our fun without doing so.
Would it be poor deductive reasoning to say modern africans are mostly superstitous because of the superstition-themed contents of most african movies?
If you get the negative opinion, it still boils down to the same fact, that we just want to indulge our fantancies and beleive those things are real, and we do the indulging albeit unconsciously, the downside is that most people do not wake up from this kind of indulgence, hence it's embedded in our sanity, and some begin to see things..
But it's pretty safe to indulge this sensations, this 'Affinity' to unrealistic characters(to use your word), if you'll do it for the fun of it, and get on with your life, as soon as the game's over
yeah, that's reality. Dream and wish for a while, then 'bam!' you wake up to the full realisation that its all make believe.

Pigs only fly in Disney land. smiley

LiteratureRe: I See Things Others Do Not See... by princesa(f): 1:20pm On Nov 27, 2013
Mr shroud: Sweetheart Princesa, you of all people shouldn't be saying this na.
You that made me almost cry for (my) Daisy at a point in 'taking chances' and swore to kill Jide if i lay my hands on him. You got folks here teamJIDE-ing or teamDAISY-ing all about.
do you think folks woulda' been happy with ya if you posted "wake up ya'll! Stop teamDAISY-ing all about o, it's not real jare !!"
when even some of them were more fans of daisy than fans of princesa, at that point.
Dem for just kari chase you comot for your own thread, then steer 'taking chances' to there own opinion of a safe landing. Ask My oga, doctor shroud.
indeed shroud, they literally lifted me high on their shoulders and threw me out of my own thread! The cuts are gaping wide on my forehead as a reminder, it was indeed a terrible experience, i tell ya grin grin

okay, i get what you mean, there's this affinity that readers place on certain characters that sometimes make them wish/imagine that this characters become real. But i was referring to chuks supernatural abilities as unreal and not his character (a 29 year old, lanky and handsome dude, bla bla bla)

maybe am confusing the facts about characterization here, but the dude's statement that the story should have been non-fiction is silly to me, because people with such abilities do not exist, its figments of the writers imagination. And by the way the genre of this story is fantasy - nothing is as it seems.undecided
