Celebrities / Davido Vs Wizkid: 8 Reasons Why We Think Wizkid Is Better Than Davido by princessco: 11:16am On Sep 02, 2017
This is another “Davido vs Wizkid” post We know some of you will like this and some won’t, but all the same, we’re doing our Job

Lets get down to business. No long story!

Below are the 8 Reasons why Wizkid is better than Davido;

1. Wizkid Has More Hits

Random Songs can’t be classified as Hit. Hit songs are Special Kind of songs that will surely hijack the Attention of people anywhere it’s been played.

Judging by definition of hits, Wizkid surpasses Davido when it comes to hit songs.

Wizkid has loads of hit song with songs like => Ojuelegba, Pakurumo, Azonto, Love my baby, Don’t dull, Show you the Money, Holla at your boy, On top of your Matter, No lele, Tease me, Jaiye Jaiye, In My Bed, Olofofo, Oluwa lo ni, Gidi girl, Slow whine, Wiz party, Shout out, Caro, Eledumare, Daddy Yo, Roll it and many others too numerous to mention tore millions of Charts across Nigeria and Africa at large.

2. Wizkid Writes 99% Of His Songs

Wizkid writes most of his songs then adds some freestyle compared to Davido that has some song controversies back then and till date.

Davido had issues with many of his Songs. We heard that of Gobe which was originally written by Password and so many other Controversies on most of his hit songs.

3. Wizkid has been able to assemble talented artists to his starboy worldwide record label unlike Davido that started with HKN Gang as a record label.

4. Wizkid has more penetration in the international scene doing collaboration with music icons all over the World.

5. Wizkid kill it with any beat maker/Producer (From Sarz to Maleek Berry, etc)

6. When it comes to Stage presence, Wizkid has lots of Fans

7. Wizkid’s Debut (Superstar) album is a classic one, which Davido is yet to achieve that.

8. There’s No question about it, he has the Better voice

Celebrities / I Signed Davido With A Rolex Watch In 2014, Says D’banj by princessco: 10:26am On Sep 01, 2017
D’banj, who recently released his new King Don Come album, says he signed Davido to his record label with a Rolex watch in 2014.

In an interview with Spindle Magazine, D’banj said after signing Davido, the artiste’s father begged him to allow “my boy to go to school”.

“I remember in 2014 when I went back to Nigeria, some young boy who used to work for me brought an artiste to me and said he wanted me to sign the artiste. I remember we gave the artiste a Rolex as a signing-on fee,” D’banj said during the interview held alongside The Fedz, a group he recently collaborated with on ‘Comment Ca Va’.

“I signed the artiste and then I got a call later on and they said the parents of the artiste wanted tpo meet with me, so I went and they said ‘please I want my boy to go to school’.

“And to look at today that the boy I’m talking about is one of the biggest artistes out of this generation, which is Davido.

“Today, I’m sure he can give Rolexes to many people.”

When asked what he would like to have as his enduring legacy, he said, “Whatever I do is to make sure that the brand that stands for visible hope, which is D’banj, is alive”.

Politics / PDP Chieftain Killed By Unknown Gunmen As Police Arrest 3 Suspects In Delta by princessco: 5:32pm On Aug 31, 2017
Delta state police command headquarters, Asaba has arrested three suspects killers of Okugbeni, People Democratic Party (PDP), a local government chairmanship prospect in the state. Nigerian Tribune reports that the suspected murders’ names are Junior Dele, Emma Francis and Ejoke Onome.

We gathered the deceased was assassinated by the suspected gunmen at about 9pm in his tricycle in Ughwagba community, Okpe area of the state.

The deceased was said to be returning home with a lady in his tricycle when he was waylaid by the assailants, who pumped several bullets into the chest and abdomen and abandoned his lifeless body in his tricycle. It was learnt that his death came shortly after the chairman of a local government area, had visited his executive members in the area on his ambition to re-contest.

According to a source close to the deceased, ''What l cannot confirm is whether the attack was as a result of the visit of the council chairman or the lingering youth leadership tussle that has existed over time, but it coincided with the day the council chairman came visiting the ward.

''We also believe that there are some highly placed persons in the community that we feel are behind the incident and we are calling on the police to do a thorough investigation, so that the culprits and those on the run are brought to book''.

Andrew Aniamaka, police public relations officer confirmed the incident and the arrest of the three suspects. Aniamaka said they were that the incident was under investigation by the ho**micide section of the state criminal investigation department.

Politics / A Colony Of Monkeys And A Congress Of Baboons - Femi Fani-kayode by princessco: 9:40am On Aug 31, 2017
On August 3rd 1857, in what can only be described as one of the most profound, moving, passionate and inspiring speeches in human history, Frederick Douglas, the former black slave and the great freedom fighter and philosopher said, inter alia, the following:

"Let me give you a word of the philosophy of reform. The whole history of the progress of human liberty shows that all concessions yet made to her august claims have been born of earnest struggle.

The conflict has been exciting, agitating, all-absorbing, and for the time being, putting all other tumults to silence. It must do this or it does nothing. If there is no struggle there is no progress.

Those who profess to favor freedom and yet deprecate agitation are men who want crops without plowing up the ground; they want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters.

This struggle may be a moral one, or it may be a physical one, and it may be both moral and physical, but it must be a struggle.

Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will. Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them, and these will continue till they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both.

The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress. In the light of these ideas, Negroes will be hunted at the North and held and flogged at the South so long as they submit to those devilish outrages and make no resistance, either moral or physical.

Men may not get all they pay for in this world, but they must certainly pay for all they get. If we ever get free from the oppressions and wrongs heaped upon us, we must pay for their removal.

We must do this by labor, by suffering, by sacrifice, and if needs be, by our lives and the lives of others".

These powerful and insightful words are as true and as relevant today as they were 150 years ago when they were first spoken.

They are words that have universal application to humanity and that have been recited and repeatedly chanted like a haunting and inspiring mantra by virtually every notable prisoner of conscience, freedom fighter and agitator for equity, liberty and human rights over the last one hundred and fifty years.

They are particularly relevant in the Nigeria of today where tyranny and injustice runs deep, where any form of resistance or opposition is regarded as subversion and is met with brutality and lethal force and where any telling criticism of the ruling APC party, government officials or the President is regarded as "hate speech" that must be supressed.

Permit me to give just one example of the latter in this contribution which, in my view, clearly reflects the nervous and obsessive disposition, the sheer madness and the sociopathic narcissism of the Buhari administration.
.

A few days ago I had a revealing, probing and in-depth interview with a leading television station about President Muhammedu Buhari, his record in office over the last two years, his health and his governent.

Lai Mohammed, our notoriously excitable and mendatious Minister of Information, was so upset and disturbed by the contents of that discussion that he personally called the television station that recorded it and told them that the government would close them down if they dared to air it.

His call was followed by an equally threatening one from the chief executive of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation who issued the same threat.

Yet it did not stop there. Femi Adesina, the President's spokesman, almost defecated in his pants when he got a whisper of some of the things that I had revealed and he wondered out loud how I managed to get all the facts and information that I shared during the interview.

He begged the station not to air it as well and also threatened them with dire consequences if they did so. Sadly the station in question got cold feet, succumbed to the threats and fell for the blackmail.

I am not surprised by this and neither do I blame them for doing so. I say this because they, more than any other, have been subjected to all manner of harrasment over the years yet despite that they remain one of the most balanced, professional, forthright and courageous media outfits in the country till today.

They are indeed the first amongst equals but they also know the monsters that they are dealing with when it comes to the Buhari administration and they appreciate the fact that they have to be extreemly careful even when it comes to reporting what are essentially notorious facts.

They have to be even more careful when it comes to allowing strong opposition figures like yours truly and other non-conformists and perceived enemies of the government to use their powerful platform to air their personal opinions and strong dissenting views.

The truth is that this government is vicious and dangerous and, in my view, they are only one step away from "disappearing" (Argentinian style) media practitioners, publishers, essayists, columnists and writers that are not prepared to bow down to their unholy will and lick their filthy, unclean and unwashed posterior.

Simply put they are a chicken-hearted government that are terrified of their own shadow.

They are a government of uncircumcised Philistines who were put in power by heathans and unbelievers and who attract and enjoy the support of every low-life and apostate from the south side of hell.

Nothing terrifies them more than public scrutiny and the glorious light of accountability and truth.

From the top to the bottom they are all the same: gangsterish and paranoid charlatans who flourish in darkness and who thrive in division, conflict, lies, deceit, suppression, threats, murder, violence and intimidation.

Femi Adesina's cowardice and perfidy particularly is nothing new. This is the same man that threatened the publisher of two leading national newspapers to close my weekly column and that has been begging and offering inducements to virtually every online magazine that I write for to stop publishing my essays.

That is how fearful, feeble, powerless, shameless, cowardly and paranoid the Buhari government has become. That is the level of their depravity and that is the level that they have degenerated to.

They cannot take criticism and they cannot bear any form of factual and in-depth analysis of their abysmal and woeful performance.

They do not have the stomach or intellectual stamina for a strong and lively challenge, for what I would describe as "hardtalk" or indeed for any form of virile debate and contentious public discourse.

Simply put they behave like a congress of baboons and a colony of monkeys. They always run away from a real fight and a real debate and they are terrified of those that are ready to take them on.

Instead of attempting to defend themselves in the court of public opinion they seek to silence the opposition by the power of their might and they seek to supress dissent, muscle the media and bury the truth.

Despite their sheer desperation to hold on to power at any cost and to cower the people and in spite of their despicable, tyrannical and inglorious mindset I have the following to say to them: like satan, your time is short.

You oppress the people and whip them into line, not by good works or inspiring leadership, but through the usage of nothing but intimidation, lies, threats, blackmail, disinformation, witchunts, fear, hate, division and terror. Your tactics are as despicable as they are deplorable.

Yet despite your subjugation and tyranny it will soon be over for you. The earth and the heavens have rejected you, the elemental forces oppose you and the Nigerian people secretly despise you. This is the doing of the Lord and it is marvelous in our sight.

You cannot wash away the blood that you have shed. You cannot erase the memory of your failures and your atrocities and those that you have humiliated, destroyed, insulted, tortured, incarcerated and subjected to persecution and the most vicious and callous media trials.

You cannot silence the voice of the voiceless, you cannot intimidate the servant of truth and you cannot supress the champion of the oppressed.

The finger of the Lord has marked you down for shame, torment and destruction and the sword of the Lord has wounded you beyond redemption. The rats were just the beginning. More miracles and wonders will soon come.

The truth is that no matter how hard you try to put out the raging fire and the crisis of confidence that has afflicted you it will not stop.

Your days are numbered and your end is nigh. The Ancient of Days has spoken and He shall perfect it.

Politics / Billionaire Kidnapper Evans Returns To Lagos, Finally To Appear In Court Today by princessco: 7:50am On Aug 30, 2017
Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, better known as Evans the alleged billionaire kidnapper, is to make his first appearance, many weeks after his arrest, in a Lagos court. Evans is to appear on Wednesday, August 30 before the Ikeja Division of the Lagos State High Court, according to a report by Premium Times.

The report quoted a source in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) as saying Evans is scheduled to appear before Justice Hakeem Oshodi as the Attorney-General of Lagos state, Adeniji Kazeem, will lead the prosecution team.

However, Olukoya Ogungbeje, the lawyer who filed a fundamental rights enforcement suit on behalf of Evans against the police at a federal court in Lagos, claimed he does not have any information of the likely arraignment of Evans.

Evans was arrested in his Magodo Estate home in Lagos on June 10 by a special team led by Abba Kyari. He will now likely be prosecuted according to the anti-kidnapping laws of Lagos state and would be facing charges of armed robbery, kidnapping and murder among others.

On Tuesday, David Igbodo, the lawyer to the police on the case of fundamental against the law enforcement agency in relation to Evans, said the investigation into his alleged crime was almost concluded.

He said: “The case is a very controversial one, it is a sensitive case. “The Inspector-General of Police devoted time, efforts, intelligence, and strategies to ensure that he was arrested.

He beat strategies for the past six years. “When he was arrested, it took time for the police to complete investigations and very soon, Nigerians will be made to know what is the next line of action for Evans.” He said as a lawyer, the IGP respects the rights of citizens.

“He has been organising conferences and seminars for the Nigeria Police, both investigators and prosecutors, to make sure nobody is kept in custody beyond 24 or 48 hours without an order of a court of competent jurisdiction.

“The Inspector General of Police cannot keep Evans without a court order, there is a valid court order that is still subsisting as I speak with you for three months. You know Evans was arrested on the 10th of June; since when he was arrested till now, it’s not up to three months.

“But meanwhile investigations have almost been completed and very soon Nigerians will be made to know what is the next line of action in the case of Evans,” he said.

Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor have made their final face off where they checked their weight ahead of their mega money fight, which takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, tonight.

Mayweather weighed in at a trim 149-1/2 pounds for the showdown, while McGregor, surprised many by easily making 153 pounds.

Reacting to the result of the scales, the American boxer says: ''Weight doesn't win fights. Fighting wins fights. It won't go the distance mark my words.

I just want to thanks the fans, I'm not really bothered about the last fight. This will be Conor McGregor's last fight also.

The fans cannot fight for you it comes down to the two competitors.' He said.

McGregor who also reacted to making more weight for the fight accused Mayweather of 'being in the worst shape of his life and scared.'

'He looks like dogs, full of water. It's the worst shape I've ever seen him in. He looks blown out, out of shape, I'm gonna breeze through him.

I'm a pro, I make weight, it's sacrifice, it's dedication it's focus. Las Vegas is Ireland now!

Politics / Police Vow To Crack Down On Troublesome Politicians Ahead Of Ekiti Governorship by princessco: 6:25pm On Aug 24, 2017
The Ekiti state police command has warned that any politician who causes any crisis ahead of the state governorship election in 2018 would be ruthlessly dealt with.

The state commissioner of Police, Abdullahi Chafe, issued the warning on Thursday, August 24, when briefing journalists at the command’s headquarters in Ado-Ekiti, Premium Times reports.

The police boss promised that the officers would be fair to all political parties but noted that the police would not tolerate hooliganism and thuggery in the name of politics. He said: “They (politicians) should see the coming election as more of a game than a war. They shouldn’t kill or maim all because they want to win election, we are not going to tolerate these.

“Let me state clearly that our work is statutorily to protect the lives of all Nigerians, so we are going to be fair to all politicians. Whatever we do for any politician in party A shall be replicated for others. We are not going to take sides, because the police as far as I know are not supposed to be political.”

Politics / Buhari Insulted And Threatened Nigerians On His Speech This Morning - FFK by princessco: 2:49pm On Aug 21, 2017
THE PRESIDENT'S MORNING BROADCAST

During his throughly uninspiring six minute broadcast this morning instead of appealing to Nigerians for patience and understanding and instead of apologising to them for the ineptitude and sheer incompetence that his government has displayed over the last 2 years, President Muhammadu Buhari has returned home after 105 days on his sick bed in the United Kingdom and not only insulted Nigerians but also threatened them.

He made no attempt to reach out to the people, to build bridges and to calm the troubled waters in what is clearly a traumatised and divided nation and instead he sought to intimidate and talk down on our people and his perceived enemies.

The President appears to have failed to appreciate the fact that times have changed and that he cannot impose his will on others.

He claims that his views represents the thinking of the majority of Nigerians yet he refuses to accept the idea or acknowledge the legitimacy of a national referendum.

He is meant to be a servant leader and a democratically-elected President and not a military dictator, a Caliph or a King.

If he wants to enhance national unity, which is of course a noble and righteous venture, and if he really wants Nigeria to remain one then he must desist from his dangerous and provocative rhetoric, he must treat all Nigerians like human beings and as equals, he must exhibit a much higher degree of sobriety and accomodation of contrary and dissenting views and he must display far more sensitivity, understanding and restraint in his interactions and discourse with the opposition and those that do not agree with him.

Failing that and without a quick recourse to the devolution of power from the centre and the neat and timely restructuring of what is essentially a fake pseudo-federation and a functional unitary state, the agitation for emancipation will become more pronounced, the various ethnic nationalities in this country will eventually exercise their right of self-determination and our nation will eventually break.

The fault lines are there and they are visible for all to see. We must recognise our differences, acknowledge our fears, concerns and anxieties, sooth frayed nerves, bridge the gap, make the necessary concessions and heal the wounds or we must prepare for the very worse in the not too distant future. That is the way forward and that is the only way to ensure and guarantee lasting peace and unity.

Since the President mentioned the late and reverred Chief Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the Ikemba Nnewi, the former Head of State of the old Biafra and the Eze Gburugburu of the Igbo, in his morning address let me add the following.

If this great man were still alive today to witness what his Igbo people have been subjected to over the last two years under the Buhari administration he would have been the first to insist on Biafra all over again.

And the truth is that Ojukwu, Major Chukwuemeka Kaduna Nzeogwu and the great Zik of Africa, the Owelle of Onitsha, Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe have collectively resurrected in a young lion from the east called Nnamdi Kanu who he must handle with the utmost care.

What the President is unable to grasp and fails to comprehend is this: we are not children, we are not animals and we refuse to be second class citizens.

Simply put we would rather die as free men, standing on our feet and resisting evil, tyranny and subjugation than live as servile slaves and pliant bonded servants with bowed heads and on bended knee.

All Mr. President's sinister and inappropiate talk about "red lines" and his insidious threats of bloodshed and bloodflow cannot change that and neither is anyone intimidated. Such talk is reckless, dangerous, irresponsible and inappropiate.

Worse of all other than saying that every Nigerian has the right to live in any part of the country, which in itself is undoubtedly a welcome and gratifying assertion, he refused to order the arrest or threaten to cage and bring to justice those that gave the Igbo people a chilling quit notice and that have promised to unleash genocide, ethnic cleansing and mass murder on them if they refused to abide by it and leave the north by October 1st..

This strange omission and instructive refusal by Mr. President is unacceptable and it feeds into the narrative that there may well be some kind of frightful hidden agenda unfolding.

It was also a missed opportunity to allay the legitimate fears and genuine concerns of many Igbos and southerners that live in the north.

I sincerely hope that history does not repeat itself in this regard.

Finally the President expressed his concerns about the social media.

The truth is that the internet has always been the nightmare of tyrants and dictators all over the world ever since it came into existence.

This is because it is designed to ensure the free flow of information and to expose their excesses and atrocities.

Now that our President has acknowledged his disdain and hate for this medium we will increase our efforts to make life more difficult for his government through it.

We will keep them on their toes and hold them to account by utilising the social and traditional media all the more. What he wishes to hide shall be made manifest and known to all.

His morning address was shallow, insensitive, uninspiring and divisive and, judging from what I saw, I believe that he should resign, go home and take care of his health.

That would be the best thing that he could do for Nigeria and that would be the best way to enhance national cohesion and unity.
