Online check in opens 48hrs before departure on emirates.com site... then you can pick your seat and check loads of other info there etc... the airport check is very simple and straight forward too... Just queue up at their stand once you get to airport... many people are also 1st timers like you, lol.


Have you tried to log in with your ref number and surname on emirates site?

Yeah Bro, I have logged in and all my details are intact and I also provided my API. I will have layover of 3Hrs20Mins in Dubai. Were you able to print your boarding pass through online check-in or you collected it at the airport?

Thanks my good people for the responses and advice, Being a first time traveler to USA and also with some experiences in Nigeria, these are the reasons for my being curious. Am not over calculating. I will leave it open just like @ayenikunle and other gurus had advice.

@Ayenikunle, can you please share your online check-in procedures and at the Airport with emirates airline as am also flying emirates to Washington Dulles (IAD)

Some people do use padlock but I don't think it's necessary... Just don't put valuables there...

Hope nothing alien could be put into the box after checking in. just thinking and curious

Do I need to put padlocks on my luggage for safety while checking in? (You know there are many zips on the Box, Hope it will be safe not putting padlocks on all of them), Just being curious.

I will be traveling to Virginia, USA very soon. My POE is Washington Dulles. My question is that do i need to declare some items like Ankara (Native Wears for my Uncle) and Hair Attachment(Weave On for my uncles's wife) on the CBP form. I am going on Vacation and I am staying with my Uncle. The items is for my Uncle and his wife.
