Cos your husband doesn't appreciate driving doesn't mean he has to settle for less...

Lemme make it simple. Go for the Lexus just for these reasons

1) More comfortable ride and better ride overall
2) More features and better interior
3) Comparable fuel economy with the pilot
4) Way more durable than the pilot
5) Available parts yapa

For the Pilot

1) Sit more people but then again if you have no kids, go for the Lexus. Even if the kids grow up, chances of the Lexus being around that long is low

2) Cheaper maintenance costs but then again more likely to visit the shop than the Lexus. Besides, one thinking about buying a Lexus won't mind maintenance costs when due.

Wish your hubby luck

Thank you very much for the advice. It helps a lot. Bless you.

Still don't understand why the poster comes here to complicate things. Most people will not know you are talking about Honda Pilot. Where in Nigeria have you seen people refer to a Pilot as MRV?

You should be getting more response to your question if you decide to keep things simple.

Simplicity, is timeless. undecided

Mister, obviously, we're not buying in Nigeria and as "auto" as you are, you'd know that since it's 2007/2008. Besides, if you were more interested in helping out than in derisive condescension, you'd have searched as the other contributor did.
Auto, I'm not a dealer or a car wiz. If I were, I wouldn't be asking.
Enjoy your world.

Most experienced car dealer would says; b4 u decide to buy/use a car in Nigeria & ‎putting ur need/desire to be unique aside, "‎observe" what others are currently driving on the roads. The more cars of similar make/model u see, the more practical it is to own/maintain. We may loathe this but fact is Toyota (Lexus) are the most practical cars to own in Nigeria. At least with a Lexus u get less bland & more luxury. However, buying a ride is so emotive that practicality sometimes seems redundant! I'd suggest a test drive of both cars to get a feel then decide accordingly...

We're all for practicality. Nothing wey we fit buy wey person never buy before. No keeping up with the Jones involved.
I personally think many Nigerians buying Lexus do so because it's still a class thingy here. He's not really into cars, in other words, he doesn't really care, or know, what to look for while test driving. If it moves smoothly along, he's satisfied. I'm actually the one worrying about stuff, maybe mainly because it'll be used here in Nigeria where so many factors should be factored in.
The MRV looks sturdier, to me. I dunno.
Thanks, bruv. I appreciate.

depends on the year, which year are u interested in,because that counts too
achinaboy, we're looking at 2007/2008. I'd appreciate your input. Thank you.

Hence Toyota is a very reliable and durable vehicle, therefore he should go for Rx 330. It makes sense to join the Lexus club

Thank you, jesussaves22 but we're not into the club thingy, you know? Just want to know as much as we can about the pros and cons of the two and make a pragmatic choice. Country hard. Lol. Thanks, still.

Had to look up Honda MRV (that's a 2nd generation Honda Pilot). I prefer the Lexus too which is basically a luxury Toyota therefore it's reliable, durable, available spare parts and less tricky to maintain than a Honda which seems rather delicate to handle. Also, the Lexus would have a better resale value (if that's important to you guys) but i would stay clear of hybrids because of expensive repair & questionable tech know-how. Hope my 2 cents helps ur decision.

Thank you, bruv. I appreciate your input. He's also reading.

RX 330 IS A VERY SWEET RIDE SAME WITH THE PILOT. IF IT WAS A YOUNG MAN WITH NO FAMILY WOULD HAVE SAID RX 330,

SINCE IT IS MORE OF A FAMILY CAR, EVEN IF KIDS AINT THERE RIGHT NOW, THEY SHOULD BE ON THE WAY SOON ENOUGH, I THINK I WILL LEAN MORE TOWARDS THE PILOT.

THE LEXUS IS A VERY SEXY RIDE THOUGH.
Thank you, Vani86. I appreciate your input. He's reading,too.

Hello, Nairalanders. I have to say straight away that I searched for this before posting, so, if this has been raised before now, kindly direct me there.
My husband is car shopping next weekend. He's torn between the Honda MRV and the Lexus RX 330, both automatic transmission Personally, I like the Lexus but I'd choose durability, availability of spare parts and maintenance over anything else. I would appreciate your suggestions.
Thank you.

Please, your opinions are needed on this post. I know next to nothing about the car. Thank you.
Autos / Re: Toyota Innova by Principessa(f): 7:09am On May 17, 2015
Thank you, waleadex, for your contribution. So, spare parts for the Innova are not available in Nigeria? That's too bad. No compatibility of parts with other Toyota brands?
What other brands, then, could one get factoring in durability, fuel economy and availability of spare parts?
Thank you, again.
Autos / Toyota Innova by Principessa(f): 7:16pm On May 16, 2015
Hello, everyone. Please, does anyone here know much about Toyota Innova, automatic transmission, petrol engine?
My husband wants to get one but since we'll be using it in Nigeria, I'd appreciate opinions about the vehicle especially as regards fuel economy, availability of spare parts and mechanics.
Thank you for your anticipated contributions.
