Marriage to me should not be for fulfillment, though. And yes, it's logical to marry on time if having children and being in their lives is your aim, because why have children at an old age when you won't be strong or healthy enough to be in their lives? It's selfish to marry late and start having children; you're not doing them anything good! A man of 50 years and a woman of similar age (1st timers) should never have children again because they won't be strong, healthy, and active enough to give these children the attention, care, love, and discipline they deserve. Arostar2023: That's exactly the point. To some having kids and grandkids give them happiness, to others it's burdensome. Each to his own. That's where we Africans miss it.... you must not marry simply because you are of "age" and have the means. Marry because it gives you fulfillment. |

Lol You already said you told your wife you don't love her and wants a divorce, so why does what you do still worries you or what she'll say? Na by force to pick vidoe calls or even pick any calls for that matter? Marriage is not what is tying you down, it's just that you don't want to be responsible again due to how early you were made to be responsible to not just your wife but to 2 extended families |

Nnamdipapa: I am not ungrateful, I just felt I would have done way better and looking back, I never did what I truly wanted to do, never had fun as I would have expected. You are a lady so, you won't see issues from a guy's point of view. Most ladies want the guy to work till death with little enjoyment.
I studied very hard for ICAN through the ATS route and became a chartered accountant around 20. I never went to a regular university. I got good jobs in multinational when my mates were still in the university.
Got into tax department and was in charge of negotiating company taxe with FIRS officials and you know what that means. I also moved into oil and gas where I was in charge of supplying ago to the whole country, I used to get my cut from every driver like about 500k every week excluding my paycheck which I never remember to touch. At some point, I bought my own 33,000ltrs ago truck and added to my company's fleet. Nigeria was sweet.
I think I got lucky. How did you know you would have done better? You are regretting what you are now in place of what you assumed you would have been? What exactly makes you think you would have been better off if you didnt get married early? Why do we assume our future alot? |
Family › Re: Men Who Married Early. Do You Enjoy Or Regret Your Marriage? by Procashtips(m): 7:11am On Jun 12, 2025 |
Nnamdipapa: At 21, I was driving a big car to church, and the news had spread that I had also bought a car for my dad. I never knew that I was a target already. I should have had at least four houses before marriage, as I had good jobs all through early adulthood. I am not doing badly now, but in hindsight, I should have been a $ millionaire before 35. My kids are older than the kids of all my mates. Then marrying early wasn't the reason you have a regrettable marriage, it's more about the people you married and the people that surrounded you. I also can't exonerate you from the whole thing, you might have also been one with no character for marriage. In a nutshell, whether you are 50 or 20, some people aren't just a marriageable spec |
Family › Re: Men Who Married Early. Do You Enjoy Or Regret Your Marriage? by Procashtips(m): 7:07am On Jun 12, 2025 |
Nnamdipapa: I also believe they set a trap for me to marry because I was doing very well financially, bought two cars at 22 and spent a lot of money on MIL. My MIL then told me she had a vision that I would marry her daughter and permitted me to get her pregnant before marriage if I wanted. I made money early and at 23, had no business with marriage. Build assets, enjoy your life, travel the world, date extensively, and you will have more wisdom to make marriage decisions. Marital wisdom doesn't come from multiple dating experience. Marital wisdom comes from understanding the purpose of marriage and companionship. One of the reasons marriages no longer last is because of these "multiple dating experiences" people now have compared to the days of old. Lastly, some people aren't meant to be married be it early or late |

Christianity Etc › Re: Bishop Oyedepo Throw Away Fresh Food Everyday, While We Go Hungry-ex Worker by Procashtips(m): 8:32pm On Jun 04, 2025 |
I can't say the commenters are lying because i have my own personal experience with a so called pastor's wife who is now the "bishop" of her husband's church after his death.
I lived with my brothers who were church officials/pastor in that church when the owner was alive, the wife would fling people's buckets away once she comes home and see people fetching water from the tap in the Mission house.
It doesn't stop there, heavy curses are laid on whoever came to fetch water at that time.
There was a time she called me to come get food from her kitchen, only to discover the food had spoilt. That was the first and last time I ever took food from her.
I flushed the rubbish food as expected!
She would be driving home alone from church after service and would see me walking home to the same mission house but drives off. (more than 50 times and only stopped to lift me once)
When the Biship (her husband) of the church died, she became the "Bishop" and everything changed.
Thank God I already left the mission house before the husband died (I'm 100% sure she was the one that told her husband I shouldn't be allowed to stay in the mission house after they transferred my brother to a branch.)
That pastor brother of mine also left the church before the owner died. I also stopped attending the church few months after the owner died.
Now, I heard she now takes rent from whoever come to live in the mission house even though these people are members of the church and also workers.
Judgement is to start from the church says the holy book. |
