Not necessarily BTC, as I said.

BTC is just one amongst thousands of cryptocurrencies.

They could create a whole new cryptocurrency that fits the criteria of what they want in a currency ie complete control.

Or perhaps getting an alternative USD is something that's not meant to be.
Another thing BRICS should do when they end up with their own currency is to make sure that not one country is allowed to print the currency. Every region must have the ability to print part of the quotas needed per year.

Meaning if they must print 100 trillion BRICS currency and 10 regions make up the membership of BRICS, then they must print in 10 different regions but shared according to the population of each region.

And we're back to the same initial problem.

Which fiat currency could they use that can successfully replace USD for global trades? Personally, I see none.

If they tried Rubles, other nations apart from Russia will complain. Same thing with Yuan, Rupee, Real, Rand etc.

What other options do you think are possible?
This is why they're proposing a Brics currency, a currency every member state have a stake in.

No more currency monopoly.

So any currency they come up with, no one member state can dictate it.

The European union have Euros, but ended up being vassals of the US, so they caged themselves.

I know but blockchain is the technology in which most cryptocurrencies are built on

Countries tried creating theirs and still creating. nigeria even created hers called eNaira but how successful was it?

People would rather go for what the govt can't control.

I think fiat money can still be used but must not be controlled by one of two countries.

Secondly, fiat currencies should be pegged to natural resources like gold, silver, diamond and the likes.

Can't they use bitcoin?

Or at least create a stablecoin cryptocurrency based on the average of all the respective currencies of the members. Just a suggestion.

The cryptocurrency should not domiciled or tied to any single nation or fiat currency. It could be programmed to have limited printability like BTC.
Countries all over the world need something the government can control as a means of payment.

If the so called "democratic" nations can't requinish the control of their currencies for bitcoin, why do you expect the "non democratic" ones to adopt BTC that can't be controlled by anyone?

Although brics will reduce the evil dominance of a certain world police and her entourage but the development of a particular country still boils down to their leaders.

I pray Africa get it right one day.
Brics is a pathway for economic prosperity for Africa if only we can utilize it.
What if the brics currency is the yuan?
What will be your take on that?
Yes i believe you but do you know that most African leaders that are terrible are being supported by the West?

A good leader puts his people first
Putting your people first is not a good thing for the west because they gain from both human and natural resources from Africa, with good leaders, our bright heads won't be leaving the country to theirs in droves, same with how our raw materials get sent there only to be refined and sold x5 back to us.

The problem is deep and huge.

They mostly support Africans having bad and terrible leaders. They need Africans poor, else we won't be easily manipulated again when basic needs and wants are no longer ssues to us

The federal minimum wage, currently at N30,000, was last raised in 2019, when the inflation rate was between 11 and 12 per cent.

However, the purchasing power of the naira has since been eroded by 276 per cent (compared to what it was in 2019), hence the clamour for an enhanced salary structure.

So Buhari increased salary from ₦18k to ₦30k when inflation was between 11-12%.

So can someone tell us what inflation is saying now and how many % it went up within 12 months of Tinubu?

Does China have a better infrastructure than the USA?

In 2023, U.S. President Biden arrived in Maine for a visit. During the visit, Biden "canvassed votes" for himself at a campaign fundraising event. At the same time, he once again mentioned China, saying that the United States ranks fourteenth in the world in terms of infrastructure. Already lagging behind China, “How can we lead the world?”

This is the second time that US President Biden has said that US infrastructure lags behind China.

Going forward, in October 2021, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Biden asked a question in his speech: "Do you know? How fast is the high-speed rail China is building? 300 miles per hour (approximately 483 miles per hour) Kilometers - that's what it is!" He said that this speed means that it is much faster to travel to Washington by train than by car, thus saving oil and protecting the environment.

In recent years, we can see in the news that a major blackout in Texas, USA, caused electricity prices to soar nearly 200 times higher than normal prices, and a bridge collapsed in Pittsburgh, USA, injuring 10 people. At the same time, we can also see that China can build a hospital in ten days, the original double helix tunnel Yaxi high-speed spiral bridge, and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is famous for its large construction scale, unprecedented construction difficulty and top construction technology world. Maybe you are also confused. There seems to be a conflict between these phenomena and statistical results? Is China really better than the United States in terms of infrastructure?

In fact, the answer to this question is very simple. We need to consider the length of development time and the quality of subsequent maintenance between China and the United States.

Since the introduction of the first railroad in the United States in 1828, the infrastructure of the United States has developed for almost two hundred years.

China's first railway was only completed in 1909, and more than ten years of war had a devastating blow to the infrastructure. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, China has vigorously developed infrastructure construction and achieved rapid development in railways, highways, water transportation, aviation and other fields. As of the end of 2020, China's railway operating mileage reached 146,300 kilometers, an increase of more than 6 times in more than seventy years. The overall construction level is also at the top level in the world.

In terms of follow-up maintenance, the current infrastructure in the United States is very aging. According to data from the "2016-2022 China Infrastructure Market In-depth Assessment and Investment Prospects Analysis Report", 10% of urban buses and 3% of rail transit in the United States are not in a "good state of repair"; 10% of bridges have structural defects. ; About 1/3 of the total length of about 6.587 million kilometers of roads are in poor condition; 16.87% of dams have "potentially high hazards"; more than 64,000 miles of high-voltage transmission lines are at full capacity in 48 states.

Such aging and fragile infrastructure is in urgent need of maintenance to ensure people's high-quality daily life. So how much has the United States invested in infrastructure maintenance? According to the Economic Impact of 2017 Infrastructure Report Card, the total demand for infrastructure funds in the United States from 2016 to 2025 is US$4.59 trillion, but the total investment is expected to be only US$2.526 billion, leaving an investment gap of approximately US$20 trillion. This huge funding gap is unimaginable. Moreover, the approval process for infrastructure projects in the United States is complicated, and many factors such as Congress, bipartisan politics, and local politics will become important influencing factors. Therefore, the efficiency of infrastructure construction in the United States is also relatively low. Former US President Trump pointed out at the Davos Forum in 2018 that the United States can now spend 10 years just to approve a simple path.

Since China's "Sixth Five-Year Plan" focused on investment in transportation construction, it has long listed infrastructure construction as a priority development area of the national economy. As of 2021, the railway loans issued by the National Open Bank have exceeded 100 billion yuan for 11 consecutive years, and they have fully utilized the power of the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and developed countries for financing, providing a large amount of financial guarantee for infrastructure construction.

Based on the comparison between these two aspects, it can be seen that although China's infrastructure construction started late in development, the scale is not comparable to that of the United States.

However, the current negligence of infrastructure in the United States has had a bad impact on citizens' daily lives.

With China's rapid development of technology, strong government support, and accurate follow-up maintenance, judging from the current situation, China's Infrastructure is already superior to that of the United States and still has huge potential for development and improvement.
