FamilyChild Turns In Her Parents Because They Were Growing Marijuana by prodiG(op): 12:39pm On Jul 05, 2014
A nine-year-old girl has walked in to a police station and turned in her parents for growing and selling marijuana.
The child calmly entered the station in Barnesville, Minnesota on June 6 and told officers that her parents were growing marijuana plants almost as tall as her in the crawl space beneath their home.
She said she had decided to seek help because the smell of the pot smoke made her feel sick, and she also worried about her dog's health because her parents would blow smoke into its mouth.
'She was a very brave, very smart, very articulate little girl,' officer Ryan Beattie told the Minnesota Star Tribune. 'It was almost like interviewing an adult. She appeared to have intelligence far above a normal little girl… She gave some pretty specific information about things, like types of drug paraphernalia, that no young person ought to have knowledge about.'
Authorities carried out a search on the home and all of their discoveries - including seven marijuana plants and drug paraphernalia - were exactly where the girl said they would be.
HealthRe: What You Need To Know About The Ebola Virus by prodiG(op): 1:19pm On Jul 04, 2014
As with other viruses, the survival of Ebola depends upon a host organism(s). Humans are not the host organism - or natural reservoir - of Ebola viruses. Humans become infected when they come into contact with an infected host, although once humans become infected they can transmit Ebola to other people
HealthWhat You Need To Know About The Ebola Virus by prodiG(op): 8:58am On Jul 04, 2014
The scientist who discovered the Ebola virus said that a current outbreak of the deadly bug in West Africa, in which 467 people have died, is “unprecedented.”
“One, [this is] the first time in West Africa that we have such an outbreak,” Dr. Peter Piot told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour. “Secondly, it is the first time that three countries are involved. And thirdly it’s the first time that we have outbreaks in capitals, in capital cities.”
Doctors Without Borders warns that the outbreak in Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia is now “out of control.” The number of cases is still spiking since it was first observed around the beginning of this year.
“With this strain of Ebola, you’ve got like a ninety percent chance of dying. That’s spectacular by any standard – one of the most lethal viruses that exist.”
And the way victims die is far from pleasant.
“Ebola virus infection starts with something that looks like the flu – headache, fever, maybe diarrhoea. But then you can develop very fast bleeding that’s uncontrollable, and that’s how people die.”
Easy to fight
There is no cure for Ebola, but in theory the disease should be easy to fight, Piot said.
“You need really close contact to become infected. So just being on the bus with someone with Ebola, that’s not a problem.”
Simple hygienic measures like washing with soap and water, not re-using syringes, and avoiding contact with infected corpses are sufficient to stop spread of the disease, Piot said.
“This is an epidemic of dysfunctional health systems.”
“Fear of the virus, and the lack of trust in government, in the health system, is as bad as the actual virus.”
What happens “is that a person is infected, is hospitalized, infects other patients and particularly health care workers.”
“They’re buried somewhere; around that funeral, people are infected when they touch the body, and so on. And then they get ill, and then they go somewhere else, and then they go to relatives in town, maybe because they hope to have better health care. That’s how it spreads.”
A ‘very big virus’
Piot was a young researcher at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp in the 1970s when they got a blood sample from a Belgian nun who had died in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of Congo).
“The clinical diagnosis was yellow fever – and we were equipped to isolate the yellow fever virus. But then something completely different came out of it, and under the microscope it looked like – kind of a more like a wormlike structure.”
It was, he said, a “very big virus.” At the time, there was only one other virus “known to be of that shape,” Marburg Virus.
They shipped the sample off to the Centers for Disease Control in the U.S., who confirmed that it was indeed something completely new.
But forty years later, much is still unknown about Ebola.
“We are not one hundred percent sure where this virus comes from. Probably from some bat.”
“A lot of research has been done, but not enough. And as long as we don’t know where exactly this virus hides outside epidemics, then we can’t map where the risks are.”
The response
The current outbreak is “already a mega-crisis,” Piot said.
“For me, this is a reason for a state of emergency, you know, in these countries.”
“You need a combination of nearly military type of control measures – isolation, quarantine of those who are the diseased – but also their relatives, to make sure that they’re not spreading the infection.”
“And, secondly, community mobilization. Information can save lives here.”
That was brought into sharp focus on Wednesday, when the Red Cross said that it would suspend operations in Guinea after some of its workers were threatened by men with knives.
“The fear of the virus and running away from health services, that contributes to perpetuate the spread of Ebola virus.”
Resistant viruses, ‘one of the biggest challenges’
Ebola, Piot said, does not appear to be morphing or evolving.
But many bacteria are, becoming immune to antibiotics, and UK Prime Minister David Cameron announced a new initiative Wednesday to try to tackle the problem.
“This is one of the biggest challenges of the future, and that is the possibility that some of the very banal bacterial infections will be untreatable,” Piot said.
“And then major surgery will become untreatable, people admitted to hospital will die from these infections. We already have some strains like that for tuberculosis.”
The solution is “more disciplined” prescription of antibiotics, curtailing the amount of antibiotics given to animals (which ends up in our food), and the development on new antibiotics.
“I think, now, because of the greater awareness, there is hope. But we’re running out of time

An Igbo man mistakenly sent 2million Naira to a
wrong phone number via Mobile Money. He
realized that before the person would withdraw
the whole money, he had to think of what to do if
he was to get his money back. To the person's
phone number, he immediately sent a text: "Hello
Dark and Worthy Initiate, I hope you are okay. I
believe you’ve received the money I sent you for
the initiation ceremony into Eternal Mystical
Order Of Glorious Satanism in the Ogboni
Fraternity scheduled to happen at 12 midnight
tomorrow. That money is only for transport. I will
send you more for pocket money and there are
riches awaiting you. 2 weeks after the initiation,
the family member closest to you will die under
mysterious circumstances and this death will
unlock your ticket to wealth, ability to fly at night
and change into all kinds of animals to deliver
your various assignments. Remember to carry a
syringe and needle meant to draw your blood
every 20 minutes. Please don't be late because the
Viceroy of Satan himself will be present to officiate
the ceremony. Thanks in advance. But incase you
are not ready to join, please send back the money
otherwise you will die in the next 24hrs".
3 Minutes later, he got a Mobile Money message:
'You have received 2million Naira for your mobile
money account'
RomanceHow To Tell If A Girl Isn't Into You by prodiG(op): 10:11am On Jul 03, 2014
Deciding whether or not to approach a girl who you have a romantic interest in can present quite a challenge, particularly if you aren’t quite sure if this girl shares your romantic feelings.Instead of simply approaching the girl and risking an awkward rejection, take some time to consider whether or not she is into you, and, if so, whether your romantic overtures will likely be met with a desirable response.
Step 1
Consider how often she agrees to spend time with you. If you frequently ask this girl to hit the town with you alone, or even with a group of friends, and she usually declines, she is likely not that interested in spending time with you.
Step 2
Watch her attentiveness to you while out in public. While this girl likely won’t spend every waking minute staring longingly into your eyes, if she is into you, her eyes will spend at least some time lingering on you. If she seems more interested in the hot dog vendor, the couple down the aisle or the little girl with a red balloon than she is in you, she’s likely not romantically interested.
Step 3
Reflect upon the intimacy of the information she willingly shares. If the girl you like seems willing to open up to you, sharing with you some private details that she wouldn’t broadcast to just anyone, she likely has feelings for you. If, instead, the most intimate details you get from her are comments on the weather, she’s likely not dreaming of a romantic future in your arms.
Step 4
Pay attention to what she does when you mention other girls. If the girl is interested in you, she will probably not be too thrilled when you mention interest in other ladies. If, instead, she encourages you in your pursuit of another girl, she’s likely not interested in having you as her own.
Step 5
Read her body language. If this girl touches your arm when you are engaged in conversation, keeps her body turned toward you, or faces you, even if doing so means turning her back on the rest of the room, she is likely open to your romantic pursuits. Conversely, if she keeps her body turned away from you, folds her arms when she talks to you, or seems to always have a physical barrier, such as a piece of furniture, between you and her, she’s likely sending you a message indicating her lack of interest
