Pls fellow nairalanders,am planning on buying a new phone but am confused.I chose the bold 2 because am told it has great battery life.I also like the bb because of its BIS but having not used one before am concerned about the battery complaints i hear daily from bb users. On the other hand, android has gaming capabilities(i luv playing games) but it consumes data like nobody's business. So my question is,should i go for the blackberry or the tecno considering their respective flaws? (choice limited to bold 2 and tecno p5).Please i need feedbacks urgently. Thanks! |

1. The Guy You Date:Thinks about what you have to offer him. He loves you because you give him your undivided time and attention, you’re attractive, and you share common interests and hobbies like playing tennis. He is hoping you will be a good match for him. The Guy You Marry:Thinks about what he has to offer you. He loves you because of who you are- he appreciates your quirks, your flaws and strange sense of humor, the way you snort when you laugh and everything he’s come to know about you. He is hoping he will be a good husband for you. 2. The Guy You Date:Is quick to become jealous when you’re around other guys. He gets angry easily, which often ends up in long, petty arguments. He is possessive over your time, and although that can be cute at times, it can also become just downright annoying. The Guy You Marry:Places his trust in you, and gives you the benefit of the doubt. He tries to understand your point of view before asserting his own, and is willing to give you space when you need it. He is always open to talking things out, and continues to exercise patience that you may not always deserve. 3. The Guy You Date:The guy you wear make-up for. You spend hours preparing for a date because you want to impress him. You want him to think you are pretty and you hope he will give you a kiss at the end of the night, reminding you that he’s yours. The Guy You Marry:The guy who you are no longer self-conscious around. He tells you that you are beautiful with or without makeup, because he loves you for your heart, mind, and soul. You don’t need his kiss to affirm his affection, but he gives you one anyways, which still sends butterflies fluttering around inside your stomach. 4. The Guy You Date:He’s a mystery. You like that he is a puzzle for you to solve, and you try to be enigmatic around him as well to keep him interested. You’re afraid that eventually, you may grow bored of each other. The Guy You Marry:You know him like the back of your hand. You let down your guard around him because you feel comfortable with revealing all your secrets to him. Although there are times when you are bored out of your minds together, you are still happy just to be in each other’s company. 5. The Guy You Date:The guy you have fun with; the guy you are with because you have feelings for him. The Guy You Marry:The guy you have fun with, but also cry with, laugh with, fight with, love with, and will be with for the rest of your life. You have feelings for him, but you are not with him solely because of your emotions. You are with him because you will love him apart from how tired, depressed, or angry you feel. He understands that loving you denotes sacrificing his time, energy, and other aspirations, and is still more than willing to make the commitment. He loves you not with a selfish or envious love, but with a patient, enduring, humble, faithful and selfless one. |
A 38-year-old woman in Scotland who told doctors she was suffering from shaking, incontinence and severe weight loss turned out to have a intimacy gadget stuck inside her vaginathat had been there for 10 years, according to an article published in the June edition of the Journal of Sexual Medicine. The woman -- who the article notes was of normal intelligence -- told doctors she used the five-inch toy in a drunken sexual encounter a decade ago and didn't remember whether she took it out or not, the Daily Mail reported. By the time surgeons found it, the toy's effects were potentially life-threatening. It had caused a bladder blockage that was forcing urine to back up into her kidneys, and had also created a vesicovaginal fistula, which is a tract that causes urine to flow into the vagina.http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/5617590?ncid=fcbklnkushpmg00000022

When Ashik Gavai began struggling to bite and chew due to severe swelling on the right side of his face, he took himself to see a doctor. After a number of tests on the 17-year-old from Buldhana, in western India, doctors discovered an unusual growth on one of his bottom molars and booked him in for surgery. He was suffering from a condition known as complex odontoma “Initially, it was not very clear what it could be and so we decided to go in for surgery yesterday (Monday),” Dr. Sunanda Dhivare-Palwankar, head of the hospital’s dental department, told India Times. As they got to work on fixing the molar they discovered hundreds of tiny teeth growing inside the tooth, which had grown to the size of a small marble. “At the final count, we had a total of 232 small pearlies, all independently developing as teeth, coming out of that lone molar,” Dhivare-Palwankar said. Surgeons believe it was a world-record operation. The most that had been previously removed was listed at 37. It took seven hours to complete the operation.. Gavai's jawbone structure was maintained during the operation so doctors expect it to heal without any deformities.http://www.myfoxny.com/story/26104839/232-teeth-removed-from-teens-mouth |

The mother of Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid footballer and Portuguese international, has revealed in her new autobiography that she attempted to abort him while she was pregnant. Dolores Aveiro claims in the book,Mãe Coragem(which translates to ‘Mother Courage’), that doctors disagreed with her decision to terminate her pregnancy and refused to carry out the procedure. She apparently turned to hard exercise and home remedies – including drinking warm beer and “running until she dropped” – in desperation. “I wanted to abort but the doctor didn’t support my decision,” Spanish newspaperLa Razon, which is serialising the book, quotes her as writing. Speaking at the launch of the autobiography in Lisbon on Thursday (17 July), she said that Ronaldo already knew about his past and even joked about it. “He told me when he found out, 'Look mum, you wanted to abort and now I'm the one who’s pulling the purse-strings in the house,'” she reportedly said.http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/cristiano-ronaldos-mother-claims-she-tried-to-abort-footballer-by-drinking-warm-ale-and-running-until-she-dropped-9615658.html

Liverpool have confirmed that Luis Suarez will be leaving the club to join Barcelona in the summer after a transfer agreement was reached which is thought to be in the region of £75m, although neither clubs have disclosed the amount. Barcelona are about to sign a world class player, who scored 31 league goals last season and was rightly adjudged the PFA Player of the Year. However, the Blaugrana fans will have to wait for sometime before getting to see their new signing in action, as Suarez is serving a four month footballing ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini in the 2014 World Cup. Here we take a look at five things he cannot do at Barcelona during the FIFA ban. (1)Suarez will miss matches, lots of matches. The ban doesn’t allow Suarez to play for four months. He will not only miss at least 9-10 La Liga games but a handful of Champions Leaguematches as well. Although Suarez’ representatives/lawyers will be trying their best to convince FIFA to reduce the length of the ban, but having seen FIFA already refusing to change their stance from the original decision, it’s hard to see the situation changing drastically in the space of next few months. (2)Scrap that, he can’t even train The worst part of this ban is Suarez cannot even train with his team mates. For any player moving to a different club, it is so important to get accustomed to the new system, surroundings and new team mates, in order to settle down quickly; that won’t be the case with Luis Suarez at Barcelona. (3)He can’t even watch his new team perform in the Nou Camp! That’s the price you pay for committing a heinous crime like bitting someone, not once but three times in your career! He won’t be allowed to step a foot in any stadium, which means he’ll have to contend himself with watching games on TV. (4)No official photo with Lionel Messi & Neymar He is not allowed to be a part of the club’s pre season team photo during his ban, which means he cannot officially be included in the squad picture for the upcoming season, unless some comprises are made later on. (5)No promotional activity Barcelona is a global brand with a huge fan base. It has become a norm for all the top clubs to promote the club’s merchandise through their star players. As a result of the ban, not only Suarez will be excluded from the club photo-shoot activities but he cannot do merchandising and other promotional activities as well.http://soccerlens.com/five-things-luis-suarez-cant-barcelona-fifa-ban/145513/ |
Ridiculous Study of the Day Says Smelling Farts Might Prevent Cancer.Scientists out of the University of Exeter insist that smelling farts could actually prevent cancer, among other diseases. Uh, okay.“Although hydrogen sulfide gas”—produced when bacteria breaks down food—”is well known as a pungent, foul-smelling gas in rotten eggs and flatulence, it is naturally produced in the body and could in fact be a healthcare hero with significant implications for future therapies for a variety of diseases,” Dr. Mark Wood said in a university release. Although the stinky gas can be noxious in large doses, the researchers seem to think that a whiff here and there has the power to reduce risks of cancer, strokes, heart attacks, arthritis, and dementia by preserving mitochondria. Researchers are even coming up with their own compound to emulate the stinky smell’s health benefits. “‘We have exploited this natural process by making a compound, called AP39, which slowly delivers very small amounts of this gas specifically to the mitochondria,” Professor Matt Whiteman, who worked on the study to be published in theMedicinal Chemistry Communications journal, said.http://time.com/2976464/scientists-say-smelling-farts-might-prevent-cancer/ |

Former Nigeria number ten Etim Esin has lambasted John Mikel Obi’s perfomance at the recent FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Critics had slammed Mikel’s slow game tactics, in which the Chelsea defensive midfielder lost possesion to the opposing team multiple times. Esin said:He wears Nigeria’s number 10 jersey but he did not show he is worthy of wearing it at the big stage like the World Cup,” the former Eagles international said. “He rose to the occasion in South Africa (at AFCON 2013), but in Brazil he was not committed and ended up as a monumental disaster.” “Look at how other players who wore number 10 jerseys for their respective countries have been playing including Messi, Neymar, Sneijder and the young chap from Colombia, James Rodriquez. “He failed to carry Eagles along as the pilot of the team. Have you seen a number 10 that did not make a goal attempt let alone of scoring. Jokes apart, Mikel has not shown he deserves to wear our No.10 jersey.” He added: “He should go and watch the video clips of Henry Nwosu and Jay Jay Okocha including my humble self and get some tutorials on how they played as Nigeria’s No.10. You must be special to wear the No.10 jersey and for me, he has not done anything special. “While Musa and Osaze were busy taking all the free kicks and corner kicks he was idle strolling in the pitch. As soon as Onazi was stretched out, he was exposed. “I don’t have anything against Mikel, when he came into limelight I was one of the first person that tipped him for greatness, but I am amazed that he has yet to live up to expectations and I am highly disappointed.” Esin has always been compared with Jay-Jay Okocha in the greatest Nigerian number 10 debatehttp://news.naij.com/69407.html |

Less than 24-hours after an emergency committee of FIFA placed a suspension on Nigeria due to an alleged government interference in the administration of Nigerian football, the country’s Under-20 women side, the Falconets, may have become the first victims of the ban. According to latest reports, the world football governing body has stopped the Falconets on their proposed 24-day camping tour of Canada ahead of the upcoming 2014 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup holding in Canada in August. It was gathered that the nation’s campaigners were scheduled to depart the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Monday aboard Lufthansa Airline to Frankfurt enroute Moncton, Canada but that was not to be as the team returned to their camp on flimsy flight hitch. However, the team returned to the airport on Tuesday to embark on the tour but were told in no uncertain term that their tickets have been cancelled on the order of FIFA.As at Wednesday’s night, it was gathered that the Nigerian team are still in their hotel in Abuja with strict instruction from the new helmsmen at the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, for them to train within the hotel premise until otherwise directed. Analysts believe the move by the NFF was to deny the media and the public from gaining access into the team’s camp. Supersport.com reports that the plight of the Falconets is connected with the FIFA ban following the sacking of the elected NFF board by a court in Jos, Plateau State. "The cancellation of the Falconets’ trip to Canada in preparation of Fifa organised competition is the strongest indication that FIFA ban is already in force and the Falconets happened to be the first casualties. "The new helmsmen at NFF understood quite clearly while the tour was cancelled by no other person than FIFA because the event in question is theirs."They’re keeping the ugly development to themselves hoping that the situation will change to allow the team proceed to the training tour of Canada. "The impression created to the public is that the team left Abuja on Monday to Frankfurt where they will connect flight to Moncton, Canada but as we speak (Wednesday) the team are in their hotel anxiously waiting for further direction. They’re sternly warned to keep off from public view, avoid the stadium but train within the hotel compound.Fear is being expressed that if quick resolution of the impasse was not found the team may miss the World Cup which starts next month.http://news.naij.com/69446.html |
FIFA has rejected an appeal from Luis Suarez against his four-month worldwide ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini. Suarez and the Uruguayan Football Association challenged the ban - and a nine-match international suspension - handed out after the striker bit Chiellini during his country's World Cup game against Italy. Uruguayan FA president Wilmar Valdez called the sanctions "totally exaggerated", but FIFA's Appeal Committee has now upheld the original decision. A FIFA statement read: "The Appeal Committee has decided to reject the appeals lodged by both the Uruguayan player Luis Suarez and the Uruguayan FA, and to confirm the decision rendered by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee on 25 June 2014 in its entirety. "The Appeal Committee has decided to reject the appeals lodged by both the Uruguayan player Luis Suarez and the Uruguayan FA, and to confirm the decision rendered by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee on 25 June 2014 in its entirety." FIFA "The terms of the decision taken by the FIFA Appeal Committee were communicated to the player and the Uruguayan FA today." Suarez, who is expected to leave Liverpool for Barcelona in the near future, can still take his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. FIFA head of media Delia Fischer added: "The relevant decision is not yet final and binding, i.e. an appeal to the Court of Arbitration of Sport is still possible by the player and/or the Uruguayan FA, subject to certain conditions." The disciplinary committee's initial decision took into account there had been no remorse from Suarez, and the fact it was the third time he had been involved in biting an opponent. After lodging his appeal, Suarez did then issue a formal apology to Chiellini and vowed never to bite anyone again.http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12040/9378008/fifa-rejects-luis-suarez-appeal-against-ban-for-biting-giorgio-chiellini |
