ebbie9ja: For the sponsors, I have GA from school (Full tuition waiver with stipend totalling 28k) but with a deficit of 12k (living expenses and other fees) which I propose to offset with personal funds. Should I then say it is self sponsored? It's better to have a family(father, mother, aunty or uncle) sponsor than self. Because if you run out of your personal funds, who is gonna help you financially. They believe if you have a family sponsor, money will always get to you. Unless you can really convince them you have saved up for many years (like 5 years and above) and have sufficient funds (bank statements come in here) to cater for your needs. And besides you have GA, so try get a family sponsor and get it indicated as 'family funds' on your I-20 if it's not stated like that already. Cheers! |

kaykad: Hi Oga Prodigree or anyone in the house can i have a template on how to write up emergency interview letter please Address your brief letter with 'The US Consulate General Lagos.' Then write your reasons for requesting the emergency. Remember to use a polite tone. You can mention your program start date (if there's an orientation session, mention you have been mandated to attend it before the start of classes). Also mention you are within the 60 days for scheduling an appointment. Cheers! |

Favournice001: First interview in lagos VO: good morning Me: good morning ma’am Vo: so tell me about your plans Me: I’m going for my bachelors degree to study music technology in California university of Pennsylvania Vo: whats music technology all about Me: Music technology is study of everything that has to do with music production, in terms of knowing how to use devices e.g computer to record and edit music Vo: oh okay so who will be sponsoring your fees Me: my dad is my sponsor, he’s been responsible for my academics from birth. He’s excited and ready to sponsor me Vo: What does he do for a living Me: he's the head pastor of a church here in Nigeria Vo: whats hes annual income Me: I have he’s bank statement here showing his financial strength Vo: let me have it, looks at it and gives me back Vo: vo nods her head and starts typing After a while she look and me surprisingly and asked why haven’t I travelled out of Nigeria before Me: told her I haven’t gotten any reason in the past to do so Vo: interrupts and says I’m sorry you’re not qualified for an f1 visa (denial under section 214(b) )
Second interview in lagos Vo: good morning Me: good morning sir Vo tell me about your educational plans Me: i plan going for bachelor degree to study music technology at California university of Pennsylvania Vo: you father will be taking care of the costs Me: yes Vo: what does he do for a living Me: he’s the head pastor of a church, he’s into medium scale farming and a real estate developer/consultant Vo: I’m sorry you aren’t qualified for this visa but can reapply again (Denial under section 214(b) )
Please how can i fix this i plan reapply again but this time Abuja cause my school resumes fall 2021 It appears the issue is your sponsorship. Perhaps you can find another family member to sponsor you. They already have it in record on your profile that your father is your intended sponsor. The idea is that something should have changed from your last interview. But if you can't get another family to sponsor you on time, then I suggest you drop that 'pastor' title and just emphasize on your dad being a successful real estate developer and into medium-scale farming. My thoughts! P.S: Abuja seems more lenient than Lagos, so go for it bro! |

chuksmanred: I will turn 29 this October. Actually my dad is a radiographer. I chose biomedical engineering to be a technical consultant based on servicing Medical equipments to give good results. Cuz the guy that services my dad's medical equipments bills him high knowing the technicians are scarce.
I have the full funding from my dad for the four years.
I don't know if my genuine reasons are convincing enough. Honestly bro IMO there's nothing wrong in going for a second bachelor's degree as long as you can defend the rationale behind it. And what you said above is a good reason for your decision. That's your story man! |

pjc: Any idea about the cost of enrolling please. Have been trying to develop a skill on programming and software engineering and algorithms. Anyone with useful information pls share. The question you should ask yourself first is 'what is my end goal? what do i want to build? what problems do I want to solve? One could easily tell you go learn node.js, react, Java, Python, C++ Scala and so on, but you will be overwhelmed on which ones to learn if you don't know what you intend achieving. In a nutshell, know what you want to do/build/develop first then aquire the requisite skills and tools. |

Guy get a laptop with enough data and go on udemy and co with youtube videos. You can learn anything if you have the tools. The only merit with deca is having a structured learning environment which you can still simulate by yourself being in a conductive surrounding. |
