Government College Ibadan (founded 28 February 1929) is a boys' secondary school located on the hills of Apata Ganga in Ibadan, Nigeria.

The founding fathers of Government College Ibadan were Selwyn MacGregor Grier, Director of Education, Southern Provinces, who conceived the idea of the school, ans E. R. Swanston, Inspector of Education.

The school was conceived and founded on 28 February 1929. The first principal was C. E. Squire. The second principal was H. T. C. Field. V. B. V. Powell was the third principal.

You'd know why those are highlighted if you've been to GCI.
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Algeria: AFCON Quarter-Finals (2 - 0) On 10th January 2026 by profmallor: 7:35pm On Jan 10
No team at this AFCON can beat Algeria 2-0, have a goal disallowed and dominate them. I dont understand how the Super Eagles have become so good all of a sudden. This sort of performances would surely make FIFA consider our case.
RomanceRe: My Marriage Is Falling Apart Please I Need Urgent Advice by profmallor: 3:37am On Jan 08
How do you motivate a 45-year-old man to make the most of his life? This one is beyond you, my dear. You may have to think of leaving, because bringing others to speak to him may not have any positive effect. Moreover, he is killing his liver with alcohol as well and gambling away his family's future, so sad. But if you must help him, get external help; you cant do it alone.
SportsRe: Osimhen Asks To Quit Camp Over Lookman Spat by profmallor: 2:22pm On Jan 06
I knew it would get to this, too much ego at play. He is very vital to that team, no doubt, but what does it take to walk back onto the pitch after the match, shake hands with everyone, diffuse the tension for a great cause and let it go? A man must have at least someone who speaks to you, and you can calm down and listen. I hope there is someone left that he still respects.
SportsRe: Fans Boo Osimhen After Lookman Outburst (Video) by profmallor: 9:25am On Jan 06
Mario Balotelli, Paul Gascoigne, Eric Cantona are all very talented players, but with over-bloated egos, and we see how it prevented them from reaching their full potential. I hope Osimhen still has people he listens to, cause he is an exceptional talent, but this attitude trend has been on for a while now; he needs to manage his ego and be appreciative of what God has given him.

Starz825:
As selfish and competitive as CR7 is in all his history....

I don't think he is as bad as osimehn....

He is going the ballotelli way.....he no go end well...but then the Nigerian mentality..." I don get money already, so i can do anyhow, nobody can talk to me"
SportsRe: Fans Boo Osimhen After Lookman Outburst (Video) by profmallor: 9:11am On Jan 06
Osimhen can be too arrogant at times; he forgets it's all about the team. What does he want Akor Adams to do then, who has only just got his first goal, but has been a great team player all along? Happy the coach sat him down. This sort of attitude would not help his case for a move to a big club where there would be other big names in the dressing room. He needs to learn a little humility.
Foreign AffairsRe: Trump Warns New Venezuelan Leader As Maduro Set To Appear In Court by profmallor: 8:58am On Jan 05
She would soon be overthrown by a Military junta loyal to Washington. She is the head of an interim government.
Foreign AffairsRe: Nicholas Maduro To Stand Trial In US For Being Leader Of Drug Cartel by profmallor: 6:47pm On Jan 03
You know what this raid screams? It says if America wants your resource, they will come for it, and no one can save you. China see itself as a superpower as well; it will soon act like one, because everyone is asking the same question: what will China or Russia do? Russia is more of a wounded giant; they can't do squat, but China isn't. In fact, Trump, with his action, is taunting China to act. Over time, China has towed the path of economic expansion in its global conquest. America would make them add military expansion to it this year. I hope you don't think China is incapable of a military invasion, especially one that's at its doorstep. I will come back to tell you I told you so, just that it would affect us all.

Foreign AffairsRe: Nicholas Maduro To Stand Trial In US For Being Leader Of Drug Cartel by profmallor: 1:50pm On Jan 03
This would embolden China to invade Taiwan.

So here is my suggestion to anyone into this P2p thing, move all the funds from the receiving account to any other account before you release the token, that way at least you are protected if your account is later fraudulently frozen, this scam is not bybits fault, but more of some conniving between the scammers and some of this bank IT staff. They would soon be caught.
PoliticsRe: Demola Olarewaju Analyses What Will Happen In The ADC by profmallor: 8:29pm On Dec 31, 2025
Whao, this puts things in proper perspective. ADC is wasting their time; Tinubu is already too influential for them to outst. I hope Tinubu's political might doesn't come to bite us all in the future.
abysirius:
APC is always a step ahead of others - The Tinubu Factor.

Prior to now, APC have done their permutations having thought about the best coalition that Atiku can form. Check the below map and let that speaks to you. He never plans winning all those states but at the end, those numbers will add up. Ire o!!
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Tunisia: AFCON 2025 (3 - 2) On 27th December 2025 by profmallor: 1:23am On Dec 28, 2025
I hope the coach now knows that leading 3-1 and substituting off Onyeka is suicidal. If anything, that iwobi boy should be the one they rotate for someone else. Without Onyeka backing up Ndidi, that midfield would fall apart.

See their Big mouth, did you field ineligible players or not, cause if Nigeria had done the same, I m sure DR Congo would gladly be attempting what Nigeria is getting at. Nigeria dont deserve it, yes, but did you also cheat?
PoliticsRe: Nigerians Praise Tinubu As Lagos- Calabar Coastal Highway Section 1 Opens by profmallor: 4:54pm On Dec 17, 2025
We know you are a politician; nevertheless, if one believes that Nigeria is in a mess, I doubt Atiku has the capacity to get us out of it. If Tinubu got Nigeria into that hole, he just might be the one to get Nigeria out. Atiku, like Buhari, look like men who are just interested in power.

abc115:
WHY I’LL VOTE FOR PRESIDENT TINUBU IN 2027

✅ To see Nigeria hit the $1 trillion GDP milestone.
✅ To witness the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway completed.
✅ To watch the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX) grow exponentially.
✅ To experience a truly private sector–driven economy.
✅ To see the naira trade below ₦1,000/$ without CBN intervention.
✅ To see our foreign reserves exceed $70 billion.
✅ To drive on the Sokoto–Badagry Highway and watch the North export with ease.
✅ To see State and Local Government Police become reality; for a safer Nigeria.
✅ To see the Pride of Africa reclaim its place as the continent’s most vibrant economy.
✅ To see crude oil production hit 3 million bpd, gas exported to Morocco, and lithium powering our industries.
✅ To complete the 2nd and 3rd phases of the Siemens Power Project, raising capacity above 20,000 MW.
✅ To see an economy funded by fair taxation, where the rich pay more and the proceeds uplift the poor.

Nigeria deserves a reformer, performer, and visionary.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu ticks all the boxes.

Peter Obi can't handle the complexities of a country like Nigeria; he should settle into being the critic he has adopted. He is more effective that way.

I am sure the FG might have established Farouk's links to the financing of the ADC party and has decided to leak his dossier through a fellow northerner. Well his chopping days may be over.
PoliticsRe: Why Captain Ibrahim Traoré Is Playing With Fire By Detaining Nigerian Soldiers by profmallor: 1:33pm On Dec 14, 2025
Isn't Niger Burkina's ally in arms?. Niger would soon come begging to fetch water again, block them, and tell them to speak to their friend to release our Soldiers. Isn't Mali struggling with a fuel crisis that Nigeria had to come to their aid>, keep that also on hold. If you cant touch Burkina faso, touch their friends.
InvestmentRe: Is This Financial Blunder Or Wise Decision? by profmallor: 9:16pm On Dec 12, 2025
Statistics have shown that more than 80% of those who win lotteries end up broke in just 2 years. That means people generally don't know how to grow money, she won't be an exception, nor would all the BIG mouths on Nairaland. $4000 a month may not be the worst of things that can happen to her, depending on her lifestyle. Spreading the price money for a lifetime gives her time to research what could be good opportunities, and then learn to compound, without being under pressure. if she later finds a way to invest compoundly $500 weekly, $ 1million would be child's play to her in 10 year. Slow and steady is what makes one rich and wealthy, not suddenly stumbling on cash

Never disenfranchise a White man to the benefit of a black man in a white man's country?. May be in another world. A man is at the bottom of the food chain.

See Oga Musa, the people you have been employed to war against, see you have recognized you and poised to react, but God pass them alll. We believe in You and pray that you success, at least give them fire for fire and stop their free marauding. Those who are for you and more than the evil ones against you

CareerRe: Woman Shares Her Staff's Response After Receiving Salary From Her by profmallor: 8:52am On Nov 23, 2025
Mr Spencer, don't mistake "what should"be for "what is". I know very smart dudes, way smarter than I was, but who have refused to accept office dynamics stuck in one revolving position for decades. I am not even speaking of not outshining the master. No, I'm speaking of sulking up to the Boss to boost his/her ego. Once you are good at what you do, cause that must be a given, then to grow, you should add the subtle skill of robbing the boss's ego; it takes nothing from you, doesn't demean you in any form. It only shows you are not egoistic enough to do what you need to do to get ahead.

Over the years, I have discovered 3 categories of people who find it hard to align with this belief: those who are very smart(they have too much ego), those in the sciences(they are very analytical and believe life should be) and those who are very stubborn and poor(suffering from insecurities).

SpencerForbes:
If you are a boss that your subordinate only appreciate because of their salary, then you should watch your back because they’ll surely be coming for you. Apart from salary there should be things you’re doing for them. Incentives, gifts, recommendations and help. If not, then you don’t deserve the gratitude.

Yes, I support showing appreciation, but only for the boss's helpful actions or favors—never for the salary I’ve earned. The rule of power, 'Never outshine the master,' is useful in office politics, but I discard it entirely when demanding my professional rights.

Sometimes you might even feel entitled due to the praise which might becloud your judgement of merit (hardwork) and more of favoritism (praises) due to ‘formalities’

Any praise I give is strictly for his positive impact; regarding my pay, the only communication he gets is the receipt notification. I keep my employment strictly professional and transactional. If my work merits a promotion, then so be it
CareerRe: Woman Shares Her Staff's Response After Receiving Salary From Her by profmallor: 7:55am On Nov 23, 2025
He is simply massaging her ego, and humans love it. The ones condemning him know nothing about office politics. There is only so far your hard work can get you. After some time, you need to suck up to the Boss. I am a senior staff member in my org, and I know you need that one Oga that you suck up to to ensure career growth; it happens everywhere, even in very mature organisations.
