The OP is right to have asked everyone to work out their retirement plans. The vicious cycle of poverty is the main reason some children slash their salaries in order to take care of a 60 year old man or woman. Such a child will grow old believing it is RIGHT to turn their own children into PENSION schemes. That's why some parents are already having ideas of duplex and cars they want their son to get for them - most times, these sons haven't even found any meaningful job that can cater the luxury of a motorcycle. They push these children into deep depression, illegal businesses and sometimes suicide.

Everyone should work and strive to raise a retirement plan.

I think traditional worshippers have oppressed more people than any other religion in the country. This particular incidence should serve as a lesson to them. Now they understand how it feels to shut people up and instruct them (women especially) to stay home because a masquerade must be worshipped.


One of the major laws Nigeria needs is one that bans any form of sit-at-home orders from traditional worshippers or any form of oppression from any deity/clergy. Nigeria is not a zoo, and people should mind how they force their deities upon unconcerned citizens.

going to the market and stopping patronage of the supermarket might also pose the staffs working at the supermarket to unemployment. aside that, some people, naturally won't give up going to the super-market for the conventional market.

avoidance of conventional markets also poses danger to market women and local retail traders.

It is not in your place as a consumer to patronize a store in order for people to solely keep their jobs. Buying decisions should be based on personal needs (e.g. the need to maximize earnings, the need to get great deals, the need for quality, etc.)

Who says you can't grieve and cry with the grieving families and still return home with parcels of Naira?

Unlike weddings, not everyone prepare for funerals, so whoever embraces this idea must be prepared for extremely tedious processes and schedules. Often in a short time, many decisions have to be made. To get this business up and running, pre-planned packages may be developed online (website) for clients to select their preferred options before a proper business meeting with your client.

Note: Funeral planning isn't a funeral home. You can be a funeral planner/event planner without necessarily owing a funeral home or cemetery. As a matter of fact, not many people, including me, would eat from dishes prepared by a "funeral home". So your job as a planner, is to negotiate, designate, allocate, and provide your clients with their preferred options: tribute, order of service, aso-ebi, befitting coffin, after-service catering, photography, etc.

Your target market as a funeral planner can include oversea based Nigerians with aged parents, the working class, and anybody with aged/old relatives.

2. Canned Sweet Corn Factory
Lovers of fried and jollof rice will understand the power of sweet corn. Worthy of note is that, the canned sweet corn we all know is simply a combination of sugar, corn and preservative. Simple, right?

Here is the bad news, no home based Nigerian entrepreneur or company as of today has produced a canned sweet corn. Virtually all the sweet corn in the market today were imported from China and Thailand.

If the Chinese can, you too can! Corn is everywhere, same with sugar!

3. Day Care? What about Night Care?
This is pretty straightforward, because some mothers work at night too, a day/night care (a 24-hour daycare) might be an exceptional idea for a struggling daycare looking to increase revenue. It could also be a great avenue for passionate minds, lovers of kids, etc. Of course, it will cost you some funds! You need security, health care and power.

Maybe you should read it again, this time with understanding. This particular "women" doesn't want such dissociation, focus on her own case...

I didn't see where it was stated that the wife lives with her husband's family.

She lives with her husband, and the said husband has neither exhibited any form of resentment towards his wife nor take sides with his extended family. OP's wife should endeavor to live peacefully with her husband not minding whether her in-laws visit. It is apparently an opportunity to escape the many atrocities and bad news emanating from in-law-wife relationship.

I do not see any problem at all... The only issue is the wife's "bad" plan to abscond with the baby. She would end up justifying the concerns and worries of her husband's family. The marriage is still too young for anyone to avoid plausible remedies with a loved one. Running faraway to another country seemed like a well planned strategy right from the onset.

No man can force his family to like or love his wife. The only thing a man can do is to continually show love to his wife.

In a world where we know what friends and mere acquaintances earn, it is unacceptable for a partner to hide such petty information.

It is better to hide your body, than mere figures that obviously lie in a bank account.

I really don't understand why any woman would want to leave her husband whom she knows loves her. I don't understand.

That your family "dislikes" you both and ignores should even be a plus, especially given how some women love to dissociate themselves from in-laws.

It can be very frustrating for a very decent, neat and organize man or woman to go into a relationship with someone with conflicting traits.

I think you should try to create a balance, talk to her often like a partner/lover. Her actions might be a demonstration of her personality. Some persons can be really disorganized while some are good managers. Since her actions aren't intentional, I believe she'd grow to do things, may be not in your own way, but in proper and better ways.

Some were raised in homes where eba is prepared with bathroom bowls. That could be very irritating, but they won't stop when you complain without giving reasons to stop.
