SOS TO MR PRESIDENT, AGF AONDOAKAA, IGP, LAGOS STATE GOVERNOR & HIS STATE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, NATIONAL ASSEMBLY (SENATORS & REPRESENTATIVES) & NIGERIAN MEDIA, LABOUR & CIVIL RIGHTS GROUPS.

Presented by: Prophet Folayan Osekita MBA, UK – 05 November 2007

My Brothers/Sisters & Leaders/Representatives of our people, fellow Nigerians,

I am taking this unusual step to draw your attention to one of the horrific incidents we hear about in Nigeria. Your urgent action is required in this matter as a matter of course, with due process and the rule of law expected to actually WORK for the common man.

I am taking this unusual step to draw your attention to one of the horrific incidents we hear about in Nigeria. Your urgent action is required in this matter as a matter of course, with due process and the rule of law expected to actually WORK for the common man.

I host/present the most widely listened to “Live” Nigerian programme ever on Nigerian radio, “NIGERIA CALLS”. An all night vigil / programme that promotes the oneness of Nigeria – by encouraging positive reflection on Nigeria & continues to impact positively on the lives of Nigerians worldwide (especially in diaspora).

We pray for Nigeria, Share any and everything positive about Nigeria, speak and Prophesy positively with regard to Nigeria & encourage Positive Criticism, as our little contribution to helping to rebuild Nigeria. Feel free to tune in: www.naijafm.com, every Tuesday & Friday, from 11:30pm & 12 Midnight respectively. Contact nigeriacalls@yahoo.co.uk; +447961342919.

I received a call during the live programme on 31 October 2007 from a man, Alhaji Fatai Owodunni Abimbola. He was in tears as he told the whole world how his brother, Alhaji Hammed Funmi had been killed by the Police in Lagos State, whilst visiting from having lived in the UK for the last 13/14 years.

He was arrested, accused of armed robbery whilst in the process of updating his passport at the British Embassy at Walter Carrington Avenue,  Lagos Island and taken to  Alagbon Police Station. He left England no more than two months ago. I was informed that this young man, Funmi had been told to go and find 1.5 million Naira, which he could not possibly raise.

This predicament was brought to the attention of the family members by a friend of the family, an Inspector of Police, who happened to see Funmi’s relative, Alhaji Titi Kuku. Apparently, Alhaji Hammed Funmi had been arrested prior to the  arrest of Alhaji Titi Kuku and his wife, Idowu Jagun.

As I write, Alhaji Titi Kuku is being held at Alagbon Annexe, Adeniji Adele, Lagos. We understand that Titi was asked to go and find 250,000 Naira for his release. The family are now running all over the place to look for this money so that Titi will not also be killed.

A regular Lagos resident, Titi was arrested with his wife, Idowu Jagun, at their Gowon Estate shop, whilst struggling to make ends meet on 12 October 2007, accused of armed robbery.

Both young and struggling Nigerians were beaten silly and tortured relentlessly; apparently expected to confess to an offence they never committed and possibly trumped up and without any justifiable basis.

She was later released after a sum of money was taken for her release. She is currently very unwell at home. Surely there is need for a full investigation for justice to prevail, following due process and the rule of law.

The deceased, Alhaji Hammed Funmi has lived continuously in the UK since 1994, supported by his brother, Alhaji Fatai Owodunni Abimbola, who has supported him since, until he travelled out in the last couple of months, looking to find ways of improving his and his family’s lot.

Naturally, a member of the family, Alhaja Sidikat Ayoka (his sister) had asked the police when the alleged offence was
supposed to have been committed, she was told that it has been about three years.

Funmi was definitely not in Nigeria then, having lived in the UK since 1994. Alhaja Sidikat also confirmed that Titi was born and bred in Nigeria and has always lived in Lagos and never travelled out of Nigeria at all; yet, at no time was Titi ever accosted, arrested, interrogated at all with regard to this allegation of armed robbery.

Titi was beaten with his wife. We understand that Alhaji Hammed Funmi died as a result of the beatings/torture or may have been secretly shot.

WHAT WE WANT:

1. Immediate and unconditional release of the deceased body of Alhaji Hammed Funmi to the family for a decent burial.

2. Immediate & unconditional release of Alhaji Titi Kuku.

3. A full scale investigation into the circumstances surrounding the arrests, beatings/torture and death of an innocent man.

4. Full and maximal coverage from our brothers & sisters in the media worldwide for the awareness of all that will hopefully lead to a concerted effort at ending such extra judicial killings in our beloved Nigeria.

5. Legal action against all responsible, so they are brought to book and the Police Force rid of such.

6. Full assurance from all above mentioned lead stakeholders in the course of the Nigeria Project that we are safe to return home and that Nigerians are safe at home.

7. A full refund of all monies taken so far.

8. Maximum support for the affected family; both as an encouragement that tomorrow will be better and assurance that the Federal Republic of Nigeria cannot continue with such attitudes.

Due process and the rule of law must begin with the common man. An accused person must be presumed innocent until proven otherwise. However, the benefits of legal freedom and security must be felt by the common man before we can move forward.

We have heard much but cannot accept this mode of operations from our nation’s security forces.

HELP!!! “NIGERIA CALLS”

Please note that apart from the deceased, all the above mentioned accused persons can be contacted. In the first instance, please feel free to contact the author of the article. May God Bless you as you help in any capacity at all.

Thanks in advance.

Politics / Reflections For Independence Day Onwards by prophet(m): 11:58pm On Sep 30, 2007
UP UP UP NIGERIA: OCTOBER 1 (1960 – 2007) – IT’S A MIRACLE!

HALLELUYAH! HALLELUYAH!! HALLELUYAH!!! HIP! HIP! HIP! HURRAY!!! HEARTY CHEERS ARE VERY WELL IN ORDER. NO SHAKING. GOD BLESS THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.

Through the sunshine, rain, fire, floods, war, pain, darkness, sorrow, joy, laughter, happiness and all … I thank God for His enduring Love, Mercy and Grace upon the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Let us all give thanks. Let us all search our hearts and minds for a change and give God His dues.

The nation of Nigeria has a conscience. You are the conscience of this nation. You the Nigerians and friends of Nigeria are the conscience of the nation. I mean friends not just those who claim to be friends. Where are the watchmen at the gates of this great nation? Do not sleep.

Awaken you children of Nigeria for the nations soul is in jeopardy. Just at a time when God began to Answer our prayers. Some have gathered in their own power and numerous strengths; they are determined to take back the soul of Nigeria which has been snatched from their hands.

It only takes a few dedicated patriots to ensure that the will of the enemies of Nigeria (within and without) does not come to fruition. You can imagine if you do your bit, play your part and I do likewise; we, together would be like a vast army, with one common purpose and focus, that Nigeria will live.

Even though it has only been 47 years, it feels like hundreds of years and Nigerians and friends of Nigeria have very high expectations, as the parents of a very bright and wise 16 year old who expect the child to be as a full grown adult. This expectation is only borne of the child’s manifested excellence, not the reality of the age of the child.

Sound the trumpets and roll out the drums and celebrate every good that God Has done unto Nigeria. Regardless of any setbacks, God deserves praise. Less of the murmurings today. Let us count the blessings for a change and we may be well surprised at all what the Good Lord has done.

On another note, we must put a stop to the politics of death. Death has entered into the consciousness of the nation through greed and avarice. Selfishness fuels the pathways of death. Right from the homes, through to the institutions of learning, wickedness has been nurtured and everything we see in the body polity today is a harvest of what had been sown.

Once upon a time we sowed unity in this nation; for example during the civil war and for some years after. For this, I cannot ever forget the years of Retired General Yakubu Gowon. I do not want to go into what was sown in the tenure of some others. Unity is a must for us, so we can stand.

We had a period in our history when people from a particular part of the nation held the nation’s juiciest strategic resources in every sense of the word. You had to be of a particular religion too. It was evident to all. The result is the over impoverishment of the others, especially the so very education conscious peoples of the other part of the nation.
The evidence is so clear when you investigate the throngs of Nigerians overseas for economic reasons and those running abroad daily. Take a walk in any of the major cities in the nations where our brethren sojourn; you will find the obvious answers to the missing link in these statements.

However, thanks be to God for the wake up call of the past 8 years. The reality has dawned heavily upon us all that it is with one’s own hands that one improves one’s attitudes and behavior patterns (owo eni l’a fi n’tu iwa ara eni se). Self empowerment will ensure that no one is waiting for the government before mobilizing to help rebuild our nation.
We need a manifestation of certain attitudinal and behavioural change in our every day dealings. The culture of 419 etc. that has destroyed the nation’s image and caused untold hardship to many, must be replaced with a shift of paradigm to that of steadfast faith in Nigeria, come rain or shine.

Civics must return to the school curriculum and government must be forthright with the people for our democracy to be more meaningful. We cannot have the government saying one thing with such apparent faithfulness but be doing something else in practice.

The mantle is upon you, my President, Alhaji Umar Musa Yar’Adua.
We have continued to pray. We shall continue. Nigeria gave you a mandate against all odds. You have presented yourself to us as a servant leader. Do not be one that fails to be sensitive to the needs of all Nigeria, in respecting and representing only a certain caucus of people. What I am saying is that you do not portray yourself as such. It is about how things appear to the people largely.

I have seen a few opinion polls and not one has yet been on your side in your decision regarding the Naira redenomination, Attorney General and EFCC and ICPC. Now your Finance Minister wants to take us back into debt. Suddenly, the Central Bank Governor is not longer fit for the nation’s Economic Team. Neither is the EFCC Chairman. It would appear that the Economic Team is also going underground, whereas it was not unseen in the last 8 years.
Nigeria of pre 1999 is not the same my dear President. The spirits of the suffering masses whom you so much express a heart for will not forgive you if you allow corruption to escape the lady justice in your time. Nigerians all over the world were tremendously enthused and encouraged by the anti-corruption drive that began to take root during the last 8 years.

It was a joy that the image of Nigeria that was zero before 1999 internationally suddenly came into reckoning by the time you took over from Chief Obasanjo. Whether you like it or not Mr President; whether your new found friends (in the name of government of national unity) like it or not, it will be ungodly and unjust for you to rubbish the achievements of the last administration, which appears to be the case at the moment. Anyone can see this. You appear to be wining and dining with some of those who had been found wanting in the eyes of the international communities.

Your government appears to play undercard tactics even in the area of justice, quite contrary to your pronouncements; especially in specific cases of certain powerful and influential people. We expected to see the dynamism of youth and the nation’s diversity reflected in your choice appointments etc.

I may be missing something, but stand to be put straight. I am very willing to learn. People are now anxious that the Yar’Adua administration does not take us back to the Shagari era; and many do say that Alhaji Shehu Shagari himself is a man of integrity and not at all greedy. However, we all know what went on in his tenure.

Personally, my confidence in your choice as the PDP flagbearer remains unshaken, as my belief that you are God’s choice for Nigeria at this time, Mr President. However, I did not think it would be so difficult to reach out to my President, who is a servant leader. I am almost convinced that it is practically worse than reaching out to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The role of the Information Ministry is so underutilized; yet this is the core communicator of this government’s business. Would we suffer more lack of positive information as opposed to and increase in positive vibes? I do not mean spin. There are not many things so far that we are hearing about that can sustain the hope that has been aroused in us during the last 8 years and we do not want to faint.

Whilst I appeal to all Nigerians to bear with the administration for a while, we shall not be taken for a ride in the name of humility in terms of servant leadership, which some of Mr President’s men will use for their own benefit.

I will like to know in clear terms how Mr President intends to further deepen the reforms of the Obasanjo administration. We want to have first hand knowledge of what this administration is doing regularly as we had in the last 8 years. How exactly does the seven point agenda of Mr President help to connect with and provide continuity, which the PDP assured Nigerians would happen in this administration?

Where are the young technocrats that featured prominently in the last administration (or even the likes of them). Surely, Nigeria is not short of them. We want to see continuity in action. We want to see concrete evidence that Mr President is working towards the 20/20 vision. The last thing we want is for the public/international relations gains eroded.

October 1 is a very special day. I pray that God Will Continue to Bless Nigeria and Help Mr President to receive the right Counsel from God and man to take Nigeria to the next level and not backwards. As we celebrate, let us reflect. 100 days plus is not too small to see and indication of what is approaching. May the Lord Open the ears of Mr President to hear and obey the Counsel of God always.

Once again, for me, I am counting my blessings and Nigeria’s blessings. The Lord has been Good to us. I shout Halleluyah!

God Bless my Nigeria.

Politics / Yar'adua Promised To Continue With And Deepen Obasanjo's Reforms by prophet(m): 5:11pm On Sep 25, 2007
MR PRESIDENT: REMEMBER YOUR PROMISE TO NIGERIANS

Let me congratulate His Excellency, President Umar Musa Yar’Adua for the attainment of 100 days (mark) in office. Also, Mr President must be applauded for his determination to rigorously pursue his seven-point agenda. His style is uniquely distant/different from that of our much beloved ex-President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
Funny enough, both are largely misunderstood for being too cool, calm and collected and being too much of an action man – quick, sharp, brash, etc. Yet, to say the ex-President was very effective would be an understatement. Mr President Yar’Adua will be effective. However, some initial concerns.

It takes boldness to be a change agent. In the case of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, history will adjudge the circumstances of his 8 year tenure. I had to put pen to paper, lest I regret. God is Watching over Nigeria. Leaders, lawmakers and all, beware! God Will Judge all.

The election campaigns were aggressively prosecuted with maximum alacrity. It was clear to most observers that regardless of the way the outcome of the elections have been criticized, the PDP appears to be most representative across Nigeria.
The technology available to date will hopefully confirm that the ex-President left no stones unturned, working assiduously for the success of his party, the PDP. In fact, the President elect, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’Adua had it very easy indeed, as far as the rigours of actual campaining went.

If any would-be leader has people in the campaign train who would so rigorously, sincerely and energetically prosecute their campaign with as much faith to back it up (in the candidate), such would be so blessed.

Statements were made by Mr President with regard to the ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and his administration. Words were used to qualify the latter as one of the best things to happen to Nigeria. Whether you love or hate the man, the facts remain that in the last 8 years, Nigeria changed for the better. The foundation has been laid for a new Nigeria.

A reforms agenda was prosecuted with military (experience) aggression, as if to save a human life; if we could place Nigeria as a nation in the place of a human being, in a major battle to live, in a life or death situation. Such an aggressive intervention requires the expertise of bold strong leadership to effect the required change.

Most nations that succeed passed through such; and most nations intending to succeed must be willing and ready for such leadership. The facts on the ground warrant a case for continuous learning via research, based on available evidence.

Combining this with projections for the future can only strengthen the foundation already laid, as well as consolidate any current learning with a view to channeling and structuring a pathway for the future development, growth and progress. It’s a very steep learning curve in the case of my dearly beloved Nigeria.

Yes, in a fledgling, young democracy, there can be no way to achieve such without major moves to tear up, break down, demolish and or erode already damaged structures (if we can call them such). As the Good Book teaches, before anything can grow, first it has to die. Death is not what we humans perceive it to mean literally. However, it’s a different type of development, another process entirely. The study of how a seed is planted and leads to a harvest of seeds will clarify this matter.

You can, under cameras set for the purpose, actually observe the process of grain decomposition that leads to new life (as we perceive it). Yet, when the emerging plant life matures, a harvest of far many more seeds than planted is achieved as an end result.

Therefore, I saw a light at the end of Nigeria’s tunnel in the bold steps taken by the Obasanjo administration, which Yar’Adua promised to deepen. There were landmark paradigm shifts in that last administrations, which sadly, even many who actually benefited from it ( to date) refuse to acknowledge. If anything, they still swear that nothing good ever came out of the Obasanjo administraton.

Fom my observations so far, it would appear that in trying to play to satisfy the whims and caprices of a diversity of forces, Mr President, Umar Musa Yar’Adua may be in need of far reaching and deeper prayers not to miss it with regard to fulfilling his promise to Nigerians to continue with the reforms of the last administration and deepen them. This is what Nigeria needs.

I am sure that it will be a lot clearer to Mr President that there are unbelievable numbers of forces at work in Nigeria. The most saddening thing is that, had such forces been harnessed, focused to move Nigeria forward, it will be clear to the whole world that Nigeria is a force the world has to reckon with.

Alhaji Yar’Adua must be wary of vested interests whose clamouring, in hating ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo is not based on objective facts of life and or office, rather, on envy, hatred and mischief. Does it mean that no mistakes were made by the last administration? No. However, we should allow for more celebration of what was achieved to encourage all at home and abroad.

I was most amazed that almost immediately Mr President came into Office, he began to entertain die hard Obasanjo administration enemies who did absolutely nothing to effect his election to office at the expense of trusted allies and loyalists, including the man, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo himself. This is my personal observation of course. The result, it appears, is a very gradual reversal of key strategic aspects of the reforms agenda, as put in place in the last administration.

There is great wisdom in the style adopted by Mr President. However, even if he is distancing himself from Chief Obasanjo’s image, he should equally distance himself from the images of big egos and vested interests that are chronically and more or less permanently, anti-Obasanjo people. Hatred begets hatred. Mr President must work to promote love not hatred. Hatred for Obasanjo has now began to mean hatred for all who worked for the last administration (including Professor Soludo, Nuhu Ribadu etc.).

Throwing the baby out with the bath water will never solve any problem. Government of National Unity must mean what it says. Due process must mean what it says. Rule of Law must mean what it says; not the protection of anyone’s clients at all costs!

Obasanjo’s government was branded lawless. Has it occurred to us that it would not have been possible to make relevant adjustments/amendments as required to tackle certain knotty issues in the process of rebuilding Nigeria? If a decision needs to be taken and bureaucratic red tapes make it impossible, what should a leader do to be effective? Logically, a leader faced with such matters is bound to rub the powers that be and vested interests the other way.

I am praying for Mr President as much as possible that the Good Lord Will Guide and Guard him to ensure that his unique personal style will not amount to nothingness, in prosecuting his spoken promises to Nigerians.

I have faith in this government. However, to allow the EFCC, ICPC to suffer unnecessary embarrassment from the hands of the likes of the new Attorney General of the Federation will surely amount to a score of zero for the administration. The AGF has goofed big time and should go now before the contents of pandora’s box begin to spill out.

The AGF’s prompt attack on the CBN Governor likewise is perplexing. Professor Chukuma Soludo is celebrated, like Nuhu Ribadu all over the world and their work/service has been highlighted, not just for awards (internationally), but also for benchmarking. Is it possible that the Professor’s attackers suddenly have more or better wisdom to handle Nigeria’s money policy?

It is likely to be and understatement in the eyes of many, but, don’t we have an idea that there are certain powers whose interests are being served currently, against the best interests of Nigeria?

Suddenly, Dokubo Asari, Alamiesiegha, Kalu et al are saints to be protected by the Presidency at all costs (or is it by the AGF)? Nigerians are surely watching. Terrorists and criminals are enjoying the high powered patronage of the Presidency and their Excellencies all over the place. All of a sudden, like all other Obasanjo haters, an impression is being fuelled (it would appear from above) that the last 8 years has been a fraud and only a reversal (if possible total erasure) will cleanse Nigeria from Obasanjo.

My point is this, has Mr President changed his views about that last administration that ushered in his office? No matter how bad/evil the previous administrations that almost ruined Nigeria completely were, the Presidency under Obasanjo and previous Heads of State were rather very cautious and sensitive in commenting on them. Except of course in the military era where power was taken via coup de tat.

History will adjudge whether or not Yar’Adua’s moves are in the best interests of Nigeria. All am saying here is that if Mr President has changed his mind regarding the successes recorded by the Obasanjo era, he should make it clear to Nigerians. Otherwise, he should focus on his promises and not allow himself to be misled as it appears to be the case already.

The Bible says the law is the power of sin.

Mr President must not allow due process to be the power that will further entrench corruption in Nigeria, rather, entrench and deepen the powers and impact of EFCC, ICPC and other similar change agencies. I pray that Mr AGF will not act against Professor (Mrs) Dora Akunyili next; as we know that certain powers are also working for her to fail.

Can anyone pretend that the legal system does not help criminals escape under the pretext that their human rights must not be abused. How about the masses against whom the impact of the evil these people do is most felt?

I know that Mr President, Umar Musa Yar’Adua probably means very well for Nigeria. He must remember that he is dealing with Nigerians. The honeymoon (which Obasanjo never really had) that Mr President has been enjoying will soon be over.

I foresee much more embarrassment for this government as the Presidency is sending some very wrong signals to Nigerians and the international communities. Unless, the matter of the EFCC is resolved immediately and the redenomination of the Naira issue (monetization which is working for Ghana) revisited devoid of sentiments. The issue must be transparently debated with facts and not swept under the carpet.

Yes, the administration is very young. I believe in the reforms agenda and that it must be pursued vehemently. However, to fulfill the promise made to Nigerians, Mr President must take good care not to get carried away by so called friends in the name of this Government of National Unity.

GNU is great and I see that some states are adopting this too. However, the best interests of Nigeria as per governance must not be compromised at all.

Segun Adeniyi, veteran journalist, now Presidential spokesman went to the US. for “training” (sophisticated). Had this been Chief Fani-Kayode, Remi Oyo or Uba Sani under President Obasanjo, God forbid. He got some stick alright; however, again, history will adjudge. There is nothing wrong in going for a course abroad etc. Timing is a different matter.

Lesson for the chronic critics: it can be your turn sooner than you imagine.

8 years passed like a day. Another 8 years will come and pass again. Let all government functionaries and their cohorts remember that Nigeria will continue and Nigerians are waiting yet again to give their verdicts at the end of the administration. I want to see more effective action from Mr President, Umar Musa Yar’Adua though. I know some of those who now look holier than Obasanjo and the last administration’s crew will be exposed soon enough. The smokescreen will surely clear.

Why is it that human beings pay more attention to cruel criticisms (not positive criticism) and work assiduously to pacify same? Even to the detriment of genuine encouragement? Well that’s life some will say. Anyway, much respect to Nigerians who are speaking out. Keeping quiet does very little if any good in the situation we are in, in Nigeria. Let’s all lend a hand to the rebuilding process. May God Help us all.

I pray that the Wisdom of God is Granted our able President, to effect desired change in Nigeria. May God Grant him good health, long life and prosperity with peace at home and abroad to achieve what appears to be impossible, speedily. I wish you, Mr President, all the very best.

May God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Prophet Folayan Osekita MBA.

RE: FATHERS’ DAY: – REQUEST FOR A MOTION TO BE TABLED AT THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY IN NIGERIA

I write as a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the spirit of reforming and repositioning Nigeria for God’s Favour and global recognition as standard bearers of excellence in governance, leadership, fairness, justice, equity, transparency, accountability, advocacy and all that is good in human endeavours.

“Father's Day is a primarily secular holiday inaugurated in the early 20th century to complement Mother's Day in celebrating fatherhood and parenting by males, and to honor and commemorate fathers and forefathers. Father's Day is celebrated on a variety of dates worldwide, and typically involves gift-giving to fathers and family-oriented activities.” (Wikipedia).

This concept is self explanatory. I am making a specific case for Nigeria in this regard. All over the world, most nations taking the lead in successful nation building to date have recognized the need to accord mothers and fathers a place in the psyche of their nations for the above mentioned reasons.

Countries that recognize and celebrate Fathers’ Day include: Argentina, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Cyprus, France, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Jamaica, Japan, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Venezuela, Zimbabwe. Nigeria must surely now join these forward looking nations in such celebrations.

It may well be that we have been celebrating Fathers’ Day in our homes, pirating the third Sunday of June with the above mentioned nations and others with different dates, however, Nigeria needs to make this official nationally, for the sake of posterity. It will be therefore on record that such a recognition was effected in our generation. I will likewise request that Mothering Sunday, celebrated as largely a Church event (Anglican), be made official as Mothers’ Day since a date has already been set.

This is a human matter worthy of note. It should be seen as a national issue, a secular issue that cuts across all strata of society, for which all our kinsmen and friends globally will join us in celebrating.

The role of the father in emerging modern societies is fast receding to the background and in some cases has receded. Hence, the increase in the tremendous confusion and chaos that attends an ever increasing number of families. The family has changed before our very eyes and unless something is done to re-establish the Family in our societies in Nigeria, we may see an ever increasing trend in the chaotic family situations.

Whilst Nigeria is notably increasing in the repositioning of our mindsets with regard to the role of women in our emerging societies, we must not allow ourselves to suffer the western world family style that has lost the family structural values to dangerous extremist anti-family, anti-men propagandists.

In the same vein, I strongly appeal to the leadership of all faiths to see this as a multi-faith issue. Likewise, for all in authority and leadership in every area of national life to embrace the proposal for national recognition of such days as Fathers’, Mothers’, Family and other days, to be recognized officially like the Children’s day etc.

Let me cease this opportunity to congratulate fathers all over our lands on this third Sunday of June for the role they play in nation building. At the same time, mothers must be very proud of their support and partnership in ensuring continuity of our family and nationhood. However, there should be a separate day for the celebration of Family. These ideas are very old indeed and offer us an opportunity to recognize the input of parents (Parenting Day can also work) to nation building for children to be encouraged into parenthood, responsibility etc.

A nation devoid of such recognitions in an official capacity readily suffers setback in family orientation without noticing visible changes for the worse until things take a terrible turn.

Finally, let me thank the proponents and executors of Mothering Sunday for a remarkable foresightedness to achieve such a wonderful national though provoking feat. God bless our mothers and I urge all to fully support and see to the realization of Fathering Sunday and or Fathers’ Day, likewise.

With these few words, Mr President, Distinguished Senators, Honourable Members of the House of Representatives, Nigerians at home and abroad, permit me to strongly urge you for your support in actualizing the realization of my dream to see the above stated concept of Fathers’ Day and associated issues such as Men’s Issues (health etc.) provided for and embraced in our fatherland, Nigeria, in a formalized way.

I wish all meanwhile, a very JOYFUL FATHERS’ DAY!

May God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Thanks Kimba for the kind thoughts.
I know so much is wrong with Nigeria but see so much that is good and choose to highlight the latter. Anything I can, I will do to lend a hand to all who are determined to rebuild Nigeria. The Lord is my Shepherd. As for NLs, I don't know what that means. However, I am for the best interests of Nigeria anytime anyday. Peace.

Many fail to understand no matter what one does and or says. Some understand alright; but it is inherent in them to make a mountain out of a molehill and get personal for no reasonable cause. "We" is very much embeded in the poem for those with an open mind who are not intent on casting aspersions. I am sure if you read the whole piece again with a fair/just mindset and with the openness to learn, you will decipher the message very easily. I however applaud the fact that you are doing your best to keep civil. My choice of title and words used to communicate the message are very deliberately to stimulate reflection, thoughts and contributions from all. We are all responsible anyway. So, for God and country, let us join hands and help rebuild Nigeria. Nigeria must not be left to the oligarchy and cohorts who held us bound for so many years! I am very sure that their intention (being "born to rule"wink is to take over power and "rule" us again. We all have a choice. Peace.

Home training is a must for all children. What is your responsibility? In Nigeria, as far as Nigeria is concerned, do you then have any responsibility, since the greatest barrier to learning together is very poor communication. Someone speaks and others thought they heard; but even though they did hear physically, emotional trips muffled the actual message. The quality of communication is evidenced in the reality of mutual understanding. When communication breaks down, then no progress can occur. You abuse me and insult me because I said something. Forget who sent me or not; however, I said something. Rather than ask me what am saying and give me the opportunity to open it up further or simply make your own disposition known, you heap abuse on me. Are you responsible for that? The poem was to stimulate reflection not bile. If we cannot be mature in communication, how can we complain that things are not right no our country. What is your responsibility to the nations you reside in and compare Nigeria with? Very interesting indeed and very very amusing. If you and I are not responsible for the well being of Nigeria, who is?
Politics / Re: For Nigeria's Health: You, My Friend, Are Responsible by prophet(m): 8:14am On May 26, 2006
Does the fact that you don't see it mean that it is wrong? Then tell me: is it right for anyone to apologise for what others think is wrong , especially when the former know they are right? However, one man's meat is another man's poison? In your human wisdom? Did it occur to you to postulate that some people ought to apologise for the unwarranted abuse etc. meted out to "outlaws" (for my faith and or position on national issues) like me? The whole idea of this poem is "COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY". Just in case you never get it. You may not agree, but your action and or inaction affects others whether you like it or not; and whether you acknowledge it or not!
Thank you.

You said:

"Looks like people have been insulting you for a very long time and now you've become a very defensive person. This thread isn't about you (or your degree), its about Nigeria. If this thread continues in the path its going, the primary reason for this thread will be lost. Lets stick to the primary purpose of this thread."

At least you arey trying to practice what you are preaching. That is commendable.

You do not know me and defensiveness is not my style. You portray unwarranted rudeness there. However, again am very used to it. I reserve the right to offer some commentary as it relates to such. I do my best to ignore such though.

You should address your following (after the first) three sentences to those so inclined not to me. Good thing you at least began to look at the issues initially and then went onto irrelevancies. Thank God you are back on track. I now pray that you keep it that way.

Welcome.

Abeem,
My point is made in the post if you honestly want to know. It's a free world, so, you like others must make your own deductions from it. If you ever believe that you can be absolute in separating God(liness) from Politics (Nationbuilding) or any other aspect of life, you may be deceiving yourself. You cannot ever exclude people who are servants of God (whether you believe they are or not) from having a say in their nations' affairs. Why do you think Pastor Chris Okotie wants to be President of Nigeria?

Segun,
I am not introducing religion into anything. I am a servant of God. He is in me. That is who I am and anything am doing is Guided by the foundation that lives in me. Should I be excluded because of that? What am I expected to do when it's burning in my heart to contribute. Shall I keep quiet like others do so that am not abused? These are things I have considered. My choice is to continue to help , lending a hand to making my fatherland, Nigeria, better. This may not please some people, but from your last interesting post on coming together, should we encourage disunity by bullying someone like me? If I am put off by those contributing negatively to Nigeria's progress, I will not join hands with anyone will I? Then, if some are put off because of what I have to contribute and so want me excluded, is that unity? I appeal to everyone to unite and be tolerant. We must however not encourage indiscipline. I believe it is a lack of discipline for me to be abused because of my write up. People should contribute what they have , not destroy others.

Nation building devoid of God = 0.
Politics = Nationbuilding and vice-versa.
Like it or not, God is in all for all.
The choice is individual.
Sow and Reap.
Reap what you sow.
Advice: (wanted or not) Focus on the contents of the post and hopefully comment on same politely.
Finally, go find out the meaning of ranting.
Too much knowledge is why some fail all the time.
Many never focus on the issues before them and end up blaming God.

Why do we help the enemies of Nigeria by hardly (if) ever seeing anything good in Nigeria?

No matter what God Does for us in Nigeria, why do we fail to Honour God?

Even when we claim to be Godly, why does it hardly (if) ever whow in your daily life?

Why have we chosen to glorify evil and promote negativity and reward same mostly?

Why is it that in families, jealousies and wickedness prevails most of the time?

How can we choose not to encourage marriage, family values and sensible moral values?

At the end of it all, we blame the leaders for everything when our homes are in jeopardy … affecting the whole nation.

Honour no longer for the elderly, but for the bully, the spendthrift bribing us (in)directly for almost everything, including our votes.

My people, God is watching us. Should we wait to experience His wrath?
Do we think we have seen the wrath of God?

We are communicating to God that we can never be satisfied. This must change urgently. If not, we shall experience the true wrath of God.

Pray, my brethren. Pray.

The wish of the enemy must not prevail upon us and our families. We are not better than the nations experiencing untold evil currently.

Time for sober reflection before it is too late.

Evil shall slay the evil. Wickedness likewise.

Nationbuilding is a must for all. Get involved in one way or another. I am not far away from you says the Lord. Why do you despise me so?

May God Bless and Save Nigeria.

Amen.

Segun,

I addressed both truly. Just take which applies to you (in)directly with respect to your specific comments. That I emphasised something or the other is your opinion. My counsel is to focus on what the article it about and leave out potential insults, attacks etc. on the person of the author. Again, an opinion from me. You do not have to take it. You may not have the same passion as I do for my faith in all aspects of life (mine included), I do. I cannot apologise if that is offensive to you. That is your personal issue, I pray to God that you learn to deal with it. Amen. Like I said, I am who I am. God's Will be done.

----------------------------

Mariory,

I thank you and I do know too. I just made the point for emphasis. You are clearly a very sensible person based on your succintness in responding and the wisdom of the response. Thanks again.

----------------------------

Jibitoye,

There you have it. Your rudely making judgments regarding my sojourn on earth is one of the reasons we have all failed Nigeria. You did not have to respond to my article or even read it. Anyone who has a problem with that has a choice. I did not dwell on anything. I just wrote an article and stated my identity. My advice: in future state yours. I had no ulterior motives and you don't have to believe that. Communication is about effectiveness. How that happens to be communicated differs from person to person. To each his own. So, your advice is for you to keep. Thanks anyway. Feel free to follow up with increased insults and or abuse. I am very used to that. But remember, your turn will surely come too. Welcome to the real life. What goes round comes around. If your dear relatives did what I did will you respond to them likewise? Or do you just use the cover of darkness to snipe at others. Remember, with the same measure that you use for others, it shall be measured unto you.

I reserve the righ to ignore future personal snipes/attacks. I had thought this website is against such so we can have decent interraction.

----------------------------

With my very best wishes and prayes for Nigeria to be well and to prosper,
Peace to all who want for peace. Amen.
Politics / The Mother Of All Smokescreens Is Yet To Come : by prophet(m): 10:17pm On Apr 10, 2006
When carefully planned criminal activity is being effected, first evidence is a rather heavy smokescreen.

What the anti "so-called" 3rd Term eagerness is about is likable to pronaco's quest , i.e. selfish ambition and diverse ego trips. The anti "so-called" 3rd Term eagerness is about selfish ambition and diverse ego trips. The only reason President Obasanjo and any who would like to see him consolidate the gains of his administration's efforts may want continuity are glaring enough for any objective analysts to deduce - a Nigeria that is slowly but surely improving in almost every area. Even the enemies of the President are now saying so. Please note that Mr President has not decided either way yet.

Even if a Third Term was written into the Constitution, is not Nigeria intelligent enough to know that there must and shall be criteria to be fulfilled before any sitting President can qualify (and or apply) for a third term? This surely is the real issue. No one criticises Great Britain (and yes , I know they practice a Parliamentary System) for having the flexibility in their governance (they do not have a written Constitution by the way) to allow for continuity.

What did ex-President Ibrahim Babangida leave for Nigeria when he left office? What further training and experience has he accrued since? Likewise ex-Head Of State, Muhammadu Buhari? Likewise Abacha (though belated, what did he leave behind)? We must compare with the leadership of President Olusegun Obasanjo for sure. Let us for a moment leave off the past leadership of the latter.

What visible, generic, but evidence-based gains at home and internationally acclaimed dividends are attributable to the focused and available agenda of the Obasanjo-led government can we identify? Let me enumerate some (just a few) as follows:

1. Nigeria’s Image has changed significantly from the Pariah to Hopeful, Courageous, Potential-ladden status which has boosted such confidences in the international communities that Nigeria is now considered a viable nation to invest in.
2. We now have a rather boisterous and healthy competition between State Governors in terms of governance and the delivery of democratic dividends to the populace.
3. Transparency in being gradually entrenched, not only into the psyche of all Government Officials, but into the leadership and functionaries of Government itself, right from the top. Not saying that it is 100% alright yet, but for the first time for example, we now have a very public display of the income and expenditure of vital arms of Government. This never happened before in the history of Nigeria.
4. The anti-corruption drive regardless of the criticisms is clearly commendable even by the fiercest critics of the person of Olusegun Obasanjo. In short, the business-as-usual attitudes are gradually being eroded.
5. Communication has greatly enhanced socio-economic interests of a vast majority of the whole populace to date.
6. The Economy has not been as buoyant (all objective indices considered) or comparable with regimes of the immediate past for so many years!
7. Freedom of speech like never before in the history of Nigeria such that those who deprived Nigerians of this freedom are now freely disrupting the polity and claiming a lack of that same freedom. In fact, some who had to flee into exile are back in full force with their agents of destruction.

This is not a campaign, just a sound of caution to those who are being railroaded into an anti-Federal Government drive that had been promised by some people right from the inception of the Obasanjo regime. The strategy devised to make the nation ungovernable like ethno-religious fracas etc. is not being attributed to the tensions created by a Third Term drive!?

We still have a very long way to go and I have my personal views regarding a Third Term or not for Mr President. I would personally like for him to hand over to someone capable, who will be adequately mentored/supported to continue to deliver the reforms agenda. This is something I have already communicated accordingly about three years ago to the Presidency in writing, on a public forum. However, the issue is being blown out of all proportion by people, most of whom have a hidden selfish motive/agenda.

Should there be an amendment to the Constitution that enables the President to spend another four years for the purpose of consolidation of the reforms agenda and the President is willing to continue to serve, I will support this objectively, based on performance.

When people who claim to be champions of democracy lose an election where they also rigged and refuse to accept defeat, they prove their hypocrisy in my view. When those who claim that President Obasanjo is a dictator themselves refuse to negotiate or budge on issues bothering on national integrity and well being, they only show that they are as kettles calling the pots black. How else can one describe people who nurse a virulent ambition to rule Nigeria, having ruled before and want to rule again, except that they are deceptive? Especially when they gather themselves, threatening fire and brimstones, if they do not get their wish to discredit the government of the day, which is putting stumbling blocks in their way. “Their way”, meaning the business-as-usual way of pilfering away the resources of Nigeria to a point of standstill.

They claim that Obasanjo should give others a chance; fair enough. However, when amongst them is one who has had seven years plus, as deputy in the top role, but will not be satisfied till he has another eight or more in the top role. Amongst them is another who has had at least nine years in the top role already, yet claiming eligibility for another shot of a possible eight if not twelve years. The history of evidence relating to performance is however still very fresh for each aspirant. Clearly, some oxen have been gored and some individuals and groups seek urgent redress at the expense of the rest of Nigeria.

They say people are hungry and suffering; granted. Are they fighting for the people? What are their records of service to the people they claim to be fighting for in real terms when they had the opportunity? Of course, some have a record of never seeing anything good in any government. Some have a record of never acknowledging anything good in any leader. Some have a clear grudge, based on a diversity of issues, some of which we may never know. All of these jeopardize the genuine concerns of say the Niger Delta, Southerners, etc. who are genuinely marginalized or have faced continued neglect.
A bit like the gay and lesbian community always comparing their lifestyle choices or whatever you want to call it with racial hatred.

There are real issues on the ground to be addressed no doubt; but, I am imploring Nigerians to be wise and objective in their aspirations and choices.

Prime Minister Tony Blair is yet to declare whether or not he is running at the next elections. The British want to know and questions are being asked. However, no one is overflogging the issue at the expense of the nation. True, it is not a Presidential system practiced in the UK. However, you hardly hear shallow and rather irrational arguments like there are over a million people capable. Is it only Tony Blair that can lead? Likewise, in the era of Margaret Thatcher, when the time came, the party acted.

At specific times in the history of different nations, any good leader appearing, with evidenced based successes have been allowed time to entrench critical changes in the system. It happened in India, China, etc. Why have Rtd Col Umar and co. not challenged the leadership of Ghadaffi of Libya? They always leave him out of any examples of dictatorships and or lengthy tenures of office. Libyans are no fools are they? I am not suggesting anything other than for us to open our eyes and minds and work for the best interests of Nigeria always.

In any case, whatever we do must be done in a civilized way through dialogue and good sense. If some people feel that they are better placed to rule Nigeria, let them support reforms and ensure a free and fair election at the appropriate time without using their money to destroy both the political terrain and the voters. Let them come out with a clear manifesto and argue and campaign based on what they have in store for Nigerians. By the way, as a matter of necessity, if their gambit does not pay off, they should neither cancel a clearly free and fair election nor work tirelessly to tear the polity apart when they do not have their way like spoilt children.

I believe that God is exposing the Truth in the polity. There is more to come. At the end, it will be that the person that has the best interests of Nigeria at heart shall be revealed with God’s Choice of who to take Nigeria forward come 2007.
Regardless of my personal and or inspired take on the issue of continuity, I know that God is a Just God and regardless of man’s machinations, God Shall Prevail. Hold tight brothers and sisters; God’s Divine Favour upon Nigeria is intact; not by power and or might, but by His Spirit. Meanwhile, let the Hand of God Stretched forth to Judge and Cleanse Nigeria continue the Work in Jesus’ Holy Name. Amen.

Come O smokescreens with your mother … Nigeria’s Moving On … in the march to prosperity. Nigeria Shall be free and saved in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

May God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and continue to guide our President, Olusegun Obasanjo to finish his Divine task to set Nigeria on the right path in the journey to prosperity, in Spirit and Truth. Amen.

Politics / Nigerian National Anthem And Pledge by prophet(m): 2:06pm On Feb 14, 2006
Salute to you all my brethren!

UP UP NIGERIA. MAY GOD BLESS THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.

Just as a follow up to my previous post on the topic of ("Nigeria Calls": Arise O Compatriots; Nigeria's Call Obey), I feel the need to post this challenge for us all to share with the whole universe.

What does the National Anthem of Nigeria mean for you? Do you know it by heart? How about the National Pledge? Likewise? Would it not benefit us all if we learn both by heart and teach them to our family members (children and all)? A nation begins and is sustained with the patriotism of the citizenry. As with when reading a love poem, the National Anthem and Pledge are well focused to bind us together in unity. This must begin with our commitment to taking responsibility and ownership (not by force; but by choice and good sense).

I believe we shall do well to remember the words and reflect on them in all we think, speak and or do. A sense of belonging and patriotism is not something that any government can force on any citizen. Whether a government is good or bad should not destroy any citizen's stake in the nation. The identity of any citizen is rooted in the national statement(s) of identity. I am a Nigerian means a lot to me and I choose to know what binds us together; i.e. the National Anthem and Pledge.

Many of us out in the diaspora now have to learn the national identities of (and make some kind of commitment to) our host nations. We do this out of choice we may say; but in fact, many of us will not do so unless it is enforced. Some of us did not have to, but things are fast changing. Then, how about our fatherland, Nigeria?

We all have a civic responsibility; not to the government in essence, but to the Nation. Our primary allegiance is to the Nation, Nigeria. I must say that our duties then of course include to be a good citizen and ambassador; this includes being loyal to the nation and to the government of the day in all the positive agenda. We would naturally have concerns which we must vent in a civil and lawful way. This is a godly order and elements of this can be found in a democratic setting.

I do not suggest that any government is perfect; neither is any system of governance perfect. I am saying that we must not allow ourselves to get carried away and derailed from the need for the best interests of Nigeria to prevail in all we think, speak and or do.

I urge that we make a new and concerted effort to renew our interest in Nigeria, commitment to Nigeria, hope for Nigeria etc. in such a way as to once again fully respect our Nigeria and be willing and ready to honour our Nigeria by renewing and rebuilding our trust and hope and commitment to our National Anthem, Pledge and pride with regard to this Nigeria.

I hope you enjoy and feel proud of this reminder. It is not intended to ridicule, undermine or confront you; it is borne of an excitement within me that I am sharing for all who are keen to see a New Nation of Nigeria thrive, prosper and succeed in my lifetime in an ever changing world.

Only we can make our nation great. Let us join hands together and rebuild a sustainable Nigeria for the sake of all.

UP UP NIGERIA. MAY GOD BLESS THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.

Peace.

Written by Prophet Folayan Osekita MBA.

NB.

THE NATIONAL ANTHEM

Arise, O compatriots,
Nigeria's call obey
To serve our fatherland
With love and strength and faith
The labor of our heroes past
Shall never be in vain
To serve with heart and might
One nation bound in freedom,
Peace and unity.

Oh God of creation,
Direct our noble cause
Guide our leaders right
Help our youths the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace
And justice shall reign.

THE NATIONAL PLEDGE

I pledge to Nigeria my country
To be faithful, loyal and honest
To serve Nigeria with all my strength
To defend her unity and uphold her honor and glory
So help me God.

NIGERIA CALLS! - "Arise O Compatriots, Nigeria's Call Obey!"

Brethren,

I am Prophet Folayan Osekita MBA. I am your brother. Are you my brother, sister? This is where we must begin. Let us look at our National Anthem and Pledge. The words are very profitable for all as a focal point for us to base and build our National Identity. We are in a period of destiny in Nigeria and the world generally. I am speaking primarily to all Nigerians, our friends and well wishers all over the world. Short of repeating the words of  our able and blessed President, Olusegun Obasanjo, I will focus only on my little part in what should be a very wholesomely National endeavour.

Many of us do not even know the National Anthem; those of us who do are oblivious of the importance of the words. Regardless, when we do know the aforementioned, we do not put the National Interest first in National issues. We are a very religious people in Nigeria as far as having and practicing a faith is concerned. However, although many reckon that religion and politics should not mix, Nation Building cannot be devoid of religion. Hence, we need to play politics (the world acclaimed modus operandi of nation building) in a way that puts the best interests of Nigeria first in all National Issues. This is not to say that God should come second, no. God must be first. Where I am going is not far fetched.

"Nigeria Calls" ,  when fire is about to engulf a house, all hands must be on deck. No mother will hear her baby crying and not run to his or her aid. What happens when the father cries? Will the son or daughter run to his aid? Well then, our fatherland is in turmoil. Many of us fold our arms and condemn all condemnables, when we can and do have the choice to lend a hand in one way or other. Everyone must do something.

Apart from just praying for Nigerian all the time, this is my contribution folks. God is working on Nigeria. Nigeria is getting better. Nigeria is groaning as a woman in labour. Will you be a part of the birthing of a New Nigeria? A Nigeria more Blessed than ever before? This is your chance to ask not what Nigeria can do for you; rather, what can you do for Nigeria.

We need to change our orientation individually and collectively. We have a tendency to be very selfish, negative and unpatriotic in our approach to national interests. Yet, we all have the choice to wake up to our civil duties and responsibilities. Everyone can play a part. We are scattered all over the world and those of us away from Nigeria lament non-stop about our bad governments and debase our nation. Yet, we all (perhaps a vast majority) want to go back home someday (dead or alive). We can continue to contribute to the negative image of Nigeria or choose to become good ambassadors in all we think, speak or do as Nigerians. I pray and urge that we all embrace the later. There are bad eggs in every family and nation. Often the good people keep quiet and allow the minority of bad eggs to have a field day, thereby the majority of others are misrepresented.

Nigeria Calls is a God-Inspired program birthed on naija101.1FM in London. The Good Lord put in my heart the matter of Nigeria as I am Sent not only as a Prophet to the Nations but to my fatherland, Nigeria. The Good Lord has asked me to take a lead role in the rebuilding of Nigeria’s broken and battered walls. He has then led me by His Grace to take specific steps of which the “Nigeria Calls” idea is one.

Naija101.1FM is a very popular radio station here in London, England, meeting a dire need for our people to “touch base” with home away from home through a diversity of programs. People have an opportunity to discuss politics amongst other topics on quite a few programs, including some for building faith and receiving help, encouragement and inspiration. As we all know, living in another country other than one’s own is fraught with severe problems and only God’s Grace can keep one alive and together.

We have heard too much bad news about Nigeria from the world over, including from Nigeria and from Nigerians; to a point where the fear of returning home has gripped many of us abroad. I know that very urgent intervention is required to redress this situation. It is noteworthy that the Federal Government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Obasanjo is tackling several issues, including this negativity. The policy is excellent in my view and I must congratulate the President for the success of the Image Building Policy pursued rigorously. “Nigeria Calls” effectively complements this effort and we do our best to ensure that no stones are left unturned in support of Project Nigeria as marketed by the Federal Government. Anyone can phone in to make their contributions. A lot of learning takes place and callers can range from the President to Pastors, Imams, farmers and housewives. All honest work must be respected.

Male, female, young, old, at home, abroad, friends, Nigeria needs you!
On the Program, “Nigeria Calls”, we hold a weekly Vigil for Nigeria, praying for the nation and leaders, especially for the President and his Team. We research into and monitor very closely, the work done by the Federal Government in fulfillment of promises made to Nigerians. I daresay that my research, corroborated by so many others, including world leaders and many others from the International Community has not been given as wide publicity as the negativity (a lot of such unsubstantiated) spread about the nation of Nigeria and the citizens of Nigeria all over the world. Nevertheless, the “Nigeria Calls” program has proved extra-special and popular. Listeners all over the world (including via the internet – you can also reach us on www.naijafm.com) are able to call in “live” on the largely interactive program. Contributors are encouraged to be positive always.

The program is not about bad news at all; rather, facts based good news from, about and of Nigeria and Nigerians all over the world. Any concerns raised are presented with a positive and hopeful outlook, backed up with prayer. It had hitherto been the custom of our people to curse the President and leadership and the nation too. I do not believe that God Wills for this negative approach, regardless of circumstances. However, God’s Judgment is sure on all who willingly helped to ruin Nigeria. All who repent and change truthfully and positively shall be forgiven of course. All who help the rebuilding process shall indeed be blessed. On “Nigeria Calls” we celebrate God’s Grace and Kindness to Nigeria to date and share good news in terms of positive developments taking place all over Nigerians. This serves as a great source of encouragement for our people all over the world, especially here in the UK. Like they say … a trial will convince and fascinate you. To be told is never the same as first hand experience.

I urge everybody with Nigeria in their hearts and psyche to tune in and experience this delightful and masterful approach to nation building. You can join in live every Tuesday, from about 8pm (GMT, London); and every Friday, from about 12 midnight (GMT, London) - both "Night Vigils" - when Prophet Folayan Osekita MBA hosts "Nigeria Calls" - the programme that enjoins all to share goodness, prayers, positivity and all that individuals, organisations, groups, Government, International Community etc. are doing towards the success of "Project Nigeria". I enjoin you all to spread this word and I know we shall witness tremendous change in Nigeria. The fire has started to burn out all dross and the precious metal is beginning to come alive. Nigeria Shall be Saved. You can help, so can I. Let's do it! Together!!

Likewise, feel free to join Prophet Folayan Osekita MBA every Sunday on Naija101.1FM from around 12 noon for "Windows Of Heaven" - a prayer and revival outreach - helping those in need to change their lives in accordance with Jesus Christ's desire. This is also a “live” outreach with opportunity for phone-in for prayer, counsel, thanksgiving, testimonies, etc.

“Agbajo owo l’a fi nso’ya” (we beat our chests with all fingers together in unity). United we stand; divided, we fall. Prepare for change, then you will be ready for change. Be prepared in and out of season; then you will not be taken unawares. A great deal of negativity can be avoided and or better managed. Change is not as bad as we often think. However, we must be willing to change. Our attitudes are often the greatest barrier to change. This is what makes us unwilling to change ourselves and to embrace change positively. We shall overcome. I bid you all peace in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Up up Nigeria! To keep Nigeria One ,  is a task that must be done!!

May God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. May God Bless our leader, President Olusegun Obasanjo and the entire Government. May God Bless Naija101.1FM. May God Bless www.naijafm.com. May God Bless you as you make it a priority to work positively as a good ambassador of Nigeria and spread the word accordingly to all and sundry. We need this message spread the world over. Send this message to all Nigerians that you know; no matter how high or low as long as they can receive this message in any form. May God Bless you to help by being faithfu, loyal and honest as a Nigerian. Be a good ambassador.
