PoliticsRe: PHCN : The Darkness Is Slowly Creeping Back by Psalter: 3:12pm On Oct 31, 2012
The darkness is not just creeping back but fully back. The water level is going down and so is power being generated. It only goes to show tat nothing is being done to improve power supply in this country. The same old story. It is rather unfortunate Nigeria is still lagging behind in every area. Our leaders are so selfish and indiscipline. It's high time we took our destiny in oiur hands. We can't continue like this. My fear for our children.
PoliticsRe: Amaechi Bought The $45m Private-Jet For Safety by Psalter: 1:25pm On Oct 30, 2012
Mr. Globe:
Amaechi is holding Rivers state to ransome. There is so much corruption in rivers syate, the house of assembly there are executive tools who are both toothless and mouthless. Why does a Governor in one of the poorest nations in the world need a private jet, where is he travelling to, what is he travelling for? Why is Amaechi still the chiarman of Governors/Corruption forum. Port Harcourt is a mess!

I beg to disagree...

Amaechi dey try.. He sold two jets bought by Odili to get the new bombadier 5000 Global..

The jet belongs to the state, not Amaechi..

And its not like he isnt working in the state..

I see no big deal in this news jor..

Tell me say you sef no wan fly inside this kind plane..

Sometimes I get disappointed with the kind of comments posted by some nairalanders. The comment above is an example of shallow thinking by some people. Agreed, the jet belongs to the state but u can imagine the improved act that amount could have made in the life of the people of the state. Again, one can only wonder how much went into the private pockets of people that handled this transaction. The people of Rivers State deserve better than this. This is indeed a wasteful venture

PoliticsRe: Farouk Lawan: Femi Otedola's $500K Bribe Was To Expose Him by Psalter: 5:57pm On Jun 12, 2012
These are not the best of times for Hon. Farouk Lawan who is enmeshed in a monumental bribe for clearance scandal. Lawan, who is accused of extorting a bribe of $600k from Chairman of Zenon Oil, Femi Otedola, to clear his company from culpability in the fuel subsidy probe which committee in the House he chaired had contradicted what he said on Sunday by Monday. On Snday he denied ever collecting any bribe, but by Monday, after Otedol had given an interview on Thisday stating his side of his story, Lawan changed his story and alleged that he did collect the bribe but that he informed the chairman of the House Committee on Narcotics and Financial Crimes of the attempt to bribe him via a letter.

But when the Chairman of the House Committee on Narcotic Drugs and Financial Crimes, Hon. Jagaba, was contacted to confirm receipt of Lawan’s letter, he denied receiving any letter to that effect.

“I am not part of the Ad Hoc Committee on Monitoring the Fuel Subsidy and to the best of my knowledge, I did not receive any such letter of complaint about an attempt to bribe the subsidy committee. I am not aware of anything concerning that transaction (bribery) and my committee is not in possession of such a letter,” he told THISDAY in a telephone interview Monday.

Jagaba said that while he could not hold brief for Lawan, it would be important for Nigerians to look at the issue on its merit.

According to Jagaba, the subsidy report unveiled monumental corruption in the management of the subsidy scheme and should not be undermined because of the bribery allegation against the committee.

In actual fact, a surveyor has purportedly do a survey of the land but it was discovered to be fake as when it was charted it was discovered that the land in the survey is in sango redo whereas the land in question is in Ogombo. Please, how do I get the details of this God fearing surveyor so dat I can contact him/her. Please assist.[
