Internetsavvy:You're welcome. This actually clears things up but i still think it's fraudulent how to they tried to pass up 4Mbps as 4MB/s. Spectranet FUP states 512kb/s after a certain amount of data is used. It's just unfortunate that it doesn't have coverage where i stay, seems like a better option tbh. Meanwhile, i got on the Swift promo of paying for two months and getting two months free. Basically slashing the price of the monthly subscription by half - now 12,500/mo with the promo. |
cris83:I already thought of this too and i did that the day the engineer came, spent close to 3hours doing everything you could possibly think off(Switching SIMs, moving the router outside, restarting the router, resetting everything from apn to what not) and it was still the same. The only thing we can conclude is that the issue seems to only be affecting my SIM and I didn't tamper with the settings before the day the engineer came. The engineer kept hammering that the unlimited isn't throttled but still couldn't make it better. I really don't wanna believe that swift actually throttles the speed which was why i called them to come check it but it is starting to look like it. All i want now is for them to stop running around the bush and tell me that it is actually throttled and if it is, at what point does it kick in? (after 200GB? 150GB?) So i can weigh it with the other "Unlimited" options from other ISPs and know if it is time to port. |
Samopex05:They still claim there is no FUP in place and there is no way to know for sure if there is. |
Dam5reey:This is why i took my time to explain that the engineer who came by brought his own swift SIM and router and tested it from the exact same spot where my router is and got better speeds, much more than i get and much more than you get (6Mbps). So the issue of reception is out of it. It was also in the same spot when i was getting the said 3MB/s while on the plan that offered unlimited at night. I'm pretty sure it is throttled cause that's the only explanation that makes sense at this point. |
saint2ace:Yeah, volume is left to what you can manage which is why i was focused on the speed and not the data cap - cos there is none. It is truly unlimited. However, a little disclaimer on thier page about the throttling won't be a bad. I don't know why they don't want to tell their customers the truth. The funny thing about this whole thing is that if they had specified that it gets throttled to 512kb/s after, lets say, 150GB is used, i still might have done it regardless. I just hate to find out this way and when i complained about it, they still insisted it wasn't capped and even sent an engineer to come and do "Eye service" instead of just telling me outright that it has been capped. |
For anyone who cares to know, Swift Unlimited is not unlimited (Talking about the 25k plan which was formerly 19k then 24k before 25k) On the website it says there is no data cap and the only cap is the speed which supposedly 4MB/s but to get even 1MB/s is impossible. All i see is 510Kbps at best. It used to be better than this but suddenly went bad. I am convinced there is a FUP in place but as it was not stated on the swift website, I can't help but imagine what theirs is. I haven't even used up to 200GB in total for the month so it is definitely below that. The reason why i say it has an undisclosed FUP and has nothing to do with coverage area is because of two reasons. One is that fact that i didn't find it difficult getting 3MB/s while i was on the plan that had unlimited only at night (This speed was 3MB/s both during the day when i was using the bundle and during the night when the unlimited kicks in). Second reason is that fact that one of swift's engineer just left my house after coming to "fix" the issue. In fixing the issue, he removed his SIM which has an active subscription (not unlimited) from him router to mine and it worked well, even reaching 6MB/s from the same exact place i kept my own router. He did the same with my SIM and the result was exactly what i had feared - capped on both my router and his, from the exact same location he just tested his and got 6MB/s. Why all these shalaye? To help you know how it is before spending that 25k in search of true unlimited. |

busuyi44:AEX, RevOS. Can't believe I've been on this version of RevOS for close to 3months without changing. ![]() |
krcboy:You also play comp? Why don't you play anymore? |
silent10:If i was, it would show on the screen. Thanks btw. |
busuyi44:Not as good as miui's. Trust me, I've searched for it. Miui's recorder can record 1080p 60fps for as long as i want. Plus the results is clean and uncompressed with no watermark. It's just far better if you intend to edit the video(s) later on. |
olayinkajnr:Can't help but love AOSP. ![]() Screen recording is the online thing keeping me in Miui right now. |
