The Chinese government are giving their citizens free loans to set up shop in poor African countries... they make their money and send all they make back to China... while ur own citizens aren't being helped, cant even get energy to set up a manufacturing plant , even if they do , with the high cost of powering energy for production...same government will use tax to suffocate the manufacturer...

Now tell me why the Chinese wudnt sell cheaper than our own citizens in Nigeria when they get free money from their government... the Chinese government have a plan to eradicate poverty in China by 2030 ...this is how they plan to do it... while it increases poverty in Africa...

My main issue is,why all these anti-Chinese rhetoric on the Nigerian cyberspace for the past two weeks all of a sudden?
These folks have been in Nigeria doing this business for over two decades and there hasn't really been any sort of problem.Why now?

This anti-Chinese rhetoric is clearly being sponsored by foreign entities who don't want a Chinese/Nigeria relationship...trade-wise,economy-wise,militarily-wise etc.

Absolutely. I even want a model of development driven by the most talented from across the world, and not even from Nigeria or Afica alone, being encouraged to move to our nation to drive our growth and development onwards to become a developed nation.

That is part of how the USA achieved development to become one of the greatest nation on Earth.

That is not true. Tinapa is not 6, 7 hours from Calabar. Just 25 minutes on a good day and probably 45 minutes in traffic.

Yes, the location is challenging but I think that was because he was looking for a resort like setting beside a large body of water that is unspoiled by development and is expandable.

There were plans to link it with a monorail from the ICC and there were plans with a dedicated and direct road and bridge link.

However the kick of the whole thing was the usual, a poor economy. And like many other white elephants the business model was elitist and out of touch with reality.

That is why the best model of governance is one that creates an economy that works for all. Bottom up, citizen targeted sustainable prosperity. Teach, lead and seed your citizens into enterprise, productive enterprise of tangible goods and services. I.e.the making of stuff.

Granted he had a vision for tourism and entertainment. But such consideration takes a long long time to fruition. Time the citizens just didn't have.
