Nigerian singer and producer, Dede Mabiaku has shared insight on the death of veteran Afro-music singer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

Sharing his version, he hinted that Fela did not die of AIDS, but was injected with a substance that eventually killed him when he was held at the NDLEA.

Recall that Dede was a one-time member of Fela’s band.

According to reports, on the 3rd of August 1997, Olikoye Ransome-Kuti, former Minister of Health, announced his younger brother’s from complications related to AIDS.

However, there has been no definitive proof that Kuti died from complications related to HIV/AIDS, and much scepticism surrounds this alleged cause of death and the sources that have popularized this claim.

Melaye made the claim in an interview with journalists in Abuja during the premiere of a movie titled, ‘Lemonade’.

A former chairman, Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory, Dino Melaye, has said he was born an actor and a politician.

He also explained that he participated in acting “to send a message to Nigerians”, ameliorate problems and “get Nigeria out of the cocoon.”

While calling on the government to create laws that would promote entertainment in Nigeria, Melaye said he participated in the movie “to send a message to Nigerians, to ameliorate our problems and to get Nigeria out of the cocoon will be a very strong way to correct the ills in the society.”

He said:-

“I am born both as an actor and a politician. The entertainment industry is a very strong sector of our national life that should be encouraged. It is richer than oil because oil is exhaustible but these ideas rule the world as I speak to you. I believe that entertainment industry is one of the strongest weapons that we can be used to ameliorate our problems in this country.”

“Lemonade is a movie I shot; it is very dear to my heart because the story about Lemonade is the story that a lot of people are going through. People talk about domestic abuse, domestic violence and all that but people don’t talk about emotional and mental abuse.

“The setting was Abuja and I decided to cast with Senator Dino Melaye because we wanted to cast a real life Senator, we needed to cast a politician and I didn’t want to cast an actor as a politician.”

A 6-year old girl has exposed her father, Mr. Amarachi Chukwuneke, in Lagos after she informed her mother that she had sex with her father when the mother was not at home.

The 43-year old father, Chukwuneke, has been arrested over the allegation of engaging his 6-year old daughter in sex romp.

The incident happened at Uche Street, Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos, where they reside.

The father was alleged to have removed the victim’s pant and penetrated her when he was alone in the house with the little girl.

However, the dastardly act was exposed when the mother noticed that her private part was tampered. The mother asked her who did it and she mentioned her father.

The matter was reported to the Police and the father, Chukwuneke, was arrested and later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation.

During investigation, the victim reportedly narrated how the father slept with her and the father became speechless.

The Police found him culpable and thereafter charged him before the Ogba Magistrates court for defilement which attracts life imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.

The prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to refer the m1atter to the DPP for advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, ordered the defendant to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.

The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned till 27th February, 2020, for report of the DPP to be ready.

However, it was gathered that the matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends his trial for incest.

Former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has warned university lecturers against rigging elections in the country.

The former President charged them to protect the integrity of the nation’s democracy by resisting the entreaties and pressure from politicians to do the wrong things.

Speaking on the role of academia in good governance and nation building, Jonathan said, “The involvement of the academia in our electoral process is premised on the assumption that academics are people of proven integrity, who cannot be compromised.

“However, our scholars should know that they bear the responsibility of justifying the trust placed on them by other members of the society in the management of elections.

“Any member of the academia who compromises what he stands for, by getting involved in the manipulation of elections, betrays that trust.

“Like parents, lecturers and teachers should always bear in mind that the important part they play in nurturing and guiding of younger ones project them as consequential role models.

Founder and Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church, an organization with one of the largest networks of about 11,000 branches in 65 countries has acquired a brand new helicopter.
This is in continuation of his quest to ease movement while reaching large numbers of people in his evangelical work. This acquisition is especially unique as it is the first time he will buy an aircraft with his personal resources.

The previous aircraft including the only one presently in the Church inventory, a Challenger 605 with registration N633WM (World Mission) which was acquired at a cost of $25 million were all acquired by the Church through Dominion Aviation Center.

Speaking at a gathering of pastors recently, Bishop Oyedepo announced that the aircraft which had arrived Nigeria could fly from Lagos to Maiduguri or from Lagos to Abuja and back to Lagos without a need to refuel.

Investigation also reveal that the aircraft is still in a Lagos seaport undergoing clearance after which it will be brought to the Church’s hangar for assemblage. Church Gist also gathered that the helicopter could be of Italian origin and produced by the Leonardo Helicopters (formerly Agusta Westland). In particular it could be either the Trekker or GrandNew series as these have the capacity for covering a long-range before the need for refuelling.

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two Russian firms for the modernization and development of railway infrastructure.

The MoU also covers the rehabilitation of existing Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) rolling stock-fleet and upgrading of workshops across the country.

Mr. Israel Ibeleme, the media aid to the Minister disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

The two Russian firms are Joint Stock Company Russian Railway (JSCRR) and Transmash Holding, a private rolling stock manufacturing company.

The agreement was signed with CEO-Chairman, Joint Stock Company Russian Railway, Mr. Oleg Belozerov, and the Chief Executive Officer, Transmash holding, Mr. Kirill Lipa during the Russia-Africa Summit in Sochi.
Signing the MoU, Amaechi said it would boost and Fastrack the construction of the rail manufacturing company in Nigeria.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Nigerian government gave the Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) the nod to establish a rail manufacturing plant in the country.

The Minister reiterated that the present administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari was determined to ensure the development of standard rail infrastructure in line with best practices.

Amaechi also noted that before the end of December, Nigeria would receive 20 locomotives and wagons which would be used for the railway service on Lagos-Ibadan, Abuja-Kaduna, and Itakpe-Warri rail line.

President Muhammadu Buhari has declared that his government would ensure the safety of all Nigerians all over the world.

Buhari promised to stretch the government’s reach and capacity in protecting all Nigerians, not minding the distance.

He gave the assurance while addressing Nigerian students and professionals in Sochi, Russia on Thursday and was contained in a statement signed and forwarded to PULZENAIJA by his Media Aide, Garba Shehu.

According to Buhari: “The life of every Nigerian, in every part of the world matters.

“Our government will protect Nigerians at home, and abroad.”

Buhari said the Nigeria Diaspora Commission, headed by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, was established to ensure a forward and backward link for all Nigerians living outside the country by catering for their safety and needs, and providing a platform for many who would like to contribute to the development of the country with their skills, knowledge and resources.

Advising all Nigerians living in foreign countries to be law-abiding and work very hard to excel in their studies and chosen careers, Buhari said: “Don’t forget your home.’’

The President assured that his administration will always be people-focused, pointing out that all the programmes of the administration had been tailored to buoy the economy and protect the poor and vulnerable.

“We must create jobs to meet the growing demands in the country, and we are looking at agriculture already,’’ he said.

President Buhari noted that the government also introduced Social Investment Programmes to directly impact the lives of poor people.

“Yesterday I met with Russian President, Vladimir Putin and we discussed some of the areas of shared interest which includes pushing for diversification of the economy in agriculture and solid minerals. Incidentally, we have a lot in common.

“Russia exports crude oil like Nigeria, and it is the second-largest producer of gas in the world. A lot can be learnt from their journey. We will collaborate in agriculture, oil and gas, and solid minerals exploration,’’ he said.

The Nigerian Ambassador, Prof Steve Davies Ugbah, said the President had restored the pride of all Nigerians by consistently meeting with citizens in countries he visited.

In his remarks, the President of Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) in Russia, Chukwujeku Ejike Sam-Fester, said President Buhari demonstrated a high sense of maturity and patriotism by visiting South Africa on October 3rd, 2019, to discuss issues relating to attacks on foreigners, including Nigerians, in the country.

“We are proud of you for taking that step to reconcile not only Nigeria and South Africa, but the entire continent,’’ he said.

Sam-Fester urged the government to extend gestures like the National Identity Card, BVN, 10-year validity passport and encourage more participation in governance by inviting professionals in foreign countries to provide services.

In her remarks, a Nigeria female student in Russia, Kadija Mohammed Babanzara, commended the President for consistency in payment of bursaries to students.

“Since you came into power, our bursaries are paid in full and timely. We are grateful,’’ she said.

Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has said Nigeria and South Africa will implement the “Early Warning Signal” mechanisms signed by the two countries to curb xenophobic attacks.

A statement on Wednesday by the Head of Media Unit of NIDCOM, Mr Abdur-Rahman Balogun, quoted Mrs Dabiri-Erewa as speaking against the backdrop of renewed xenophobic attacks on Nigerians.

PULZE NAIJA recalls that South African citizens resumed xenophobic attacks against Nigerians living in Mpumalanga area of the country.

Quoting Mrs Dabiri-Erewa, the statement said: “The Consul-General, Godwin Adama, is on top of the situation. He is currently in Widbank, Mpumulanga, where the crisis happened. He is at a meeting with the highest police authorities there.

“The mission intervened immediately and the situation is currently under control.




“After this meeting, a meeting with Nigerians along with the South African Police will hold.”

The NIDCOM chairman said further developments at this stage would be taken up at the ministerial level, between the two ministers of Foreign Affairs of both countries.

President Muhammadu Buhari was in South Africa between October 3 and October 5 on a state visit, which coincided with the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians.




Series of agreements and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were signed by the two African states to cement the relationship and nip the hostilities in the bud.

Apple to beat Huawei soon – Huawei surpassed Apple in global smartphone shipments for the first time during 2018’s second quarter, and even though the Cupertino-based tech giant was ranked second overall among the world’s top vendors at the end of the year, the makers of the premium Mate 20 duo and many impressive mid-rangers under its own name and the Honor brand began 2019 on a very high note.

Instead of wondering whether or not Apple could ever regain its industry silver medal placement, market researchers and analysts started looking more and more seriously at Huawei’s chances of overtaking Samsung as well to become the number one smartphone vendor of the world. But then President Trump’s trade war with China escalated, and all of a sudden, Huawei’s very survival was threatened.

While the company will probably be able to sustain itself on domestic sales of spectacular handsets like the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro, that’s obviously not going to be enough to maintain its remarkable global growth trajectory. According to Digitimes, Apple is thus “likely to outrace Huawei to recapture second place in the global smartphone vendor ranking” by the end of the year.
