https://pulzenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/gorilla.jpg A professor of Wildlife Resources Management, Herpetology and International Management consultant, University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Edem Eniang, has lamented the rate at which mountain gorillas are being hunted as bushmeat in Nigeria. He regretted that instead of the government making conscious efforts to generate ecotourism traffic from the viewing such gorillas, their very species which are endemic to Nigeria are being hunted and their habitat destroyed. Eniang who stated this in his office in Uyo, the state capital on Friday, said Nigeria despite being the third richest country in terms of primate species diversity in Africa, was yet to harness the enormous potentials from the sub-sector. He said while countries such as Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo DRC are earning billions of dollars in foreign exchange from mountain gorillas based eco-tourism alone, Nigeria with its very rare and critically endangered species of gorilla globally recognised as Cross River gorillas which is a distinct sub-species of Western Lowland gorilla and endemic to Nigeria /southwestern Cameroon are being hunted for food as bushmeat. According to Enaing, “Nigeria is losing billions of Dollars for not making conscious efforts to develop the wildlife-based eco-tourism subsector. In Uganda, an average of one thousand dollars is paid per person on the average to view mountain gorillas for just an hour. “But Nigeria has a unique species of gorilla, that is, the Cross River gorilla found in four localities of Cross River State namely; Afi mountain wildlife sanctuary, Mbe mountain, Okwangwo sector of Cross River National Park and Obudu escarpment near the Obudu Cattle Ranch/Resort though down at the moment. “So what conscious effort has the relevant governments/agencies made at the moment to generate eco-tourism traffic of the country based on this critically endangered great ape? “We must appreciate the fact that this all-important species of Ape have been given to us as heritage, rather people are shooting them and destroying their habitats instead of conserving them to generate much-needed revenue as done in some parts of East and Central Africa.” The neglect of the sector, the professor said has scared away potential investors, adding that a Japanese Primate Research Organization had invested in many countries of Africa such as Uganda, Congo DRC and Rwanda for up to 60 years in gorillas and Chimpanzees, shunning Nigeria and indeed West Africa with rarer species of those great apes. He called on both the Federal and state governments and relevant agencies to take urgent positive steps and take stock of all the globally important wildlife species and draw a Nigeria eco-tourism map that shows direction and pinpoint the localities of all the site of eco-tourism potentials as well as how to access them. The Professor also called on the Akwa Ibom State Government to take advantage of the numerous endemic wildlife species found in the state and establish either a Biosphere or Game reserve to boost Wildlife conservation and Eco-tourism in the state. https://pulzenaija.com/news/mountain-gorillas-expert/ |

Hello guys, how have you been? We all know that Nigeria is blessed with a plethora of natural resources. As if that wasn’t enough, we also have enough human capital to lead ourselves. However, we’ve been having bad luck after bad luck when it comes to selecting our leaders. I wish I could make this into a poll or a sort of online vote so it’ll be easier for everyone to share their 2 cents. https://pulzenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Ogbonnaya-Onu.jpg Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, Minister of Science and Technology, says the Federal Government plans to establish an agency that would be in charge of artificial intelligence and robotics. He made this disclosure on Monday in Abuja when officials of the Nigeria Science Academy (NSA) visited him in his office. News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a general term that implies the use of a computer to model, including robotics, natural language processing (NLP), computer vision and it is sometimes called machine intelligence. Onu disclosed that for a very long time his ministry has been working to establish the agency, and it has passed through a lot of processes. According to him, the ministry is close to achieving its aim and when it is fully achieved it would be made public to Nigerians. “We are very committed to ensure that we have at least one research institute, centre or Agency that will concentrate on artificial intelligence and robotics,” he said. Onu said this has become imperative because with the establishment of artificial intelligence the level and quality of research, universities, and industrial laboratories in the country would increase and could compete favourable with international standard. He expressed the hope that the private sector would show interest and at the end it would be commercialised, saying that positive ideas could be translated to products and services available in the market place. According to Onu, it will also help create jobs, grow the economy and boost the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country. “The institute once established would be useful and Academy of Engineers that would work closely with the ministry to attain maturity. Onu appreciated the academy’s effort to hold a workshop on Big Data and artificial intelligence. He said the Ministry had partner with Women in Science group, saying that they need to go to the rural schools to encourage the girl child to be interested in reading Science related courses. The minister, however, urged the president of the Academy to work with relevant stakeholders for country to attain level of greatness. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/09/fg-to-establish-agency-for-artificial-intelligence-robotics-onu/amp/ |
Senior Pastor of the Awaiting The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ Gospel Church, Adewale Giwa, has advised the founder of Later Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare to study his bible carefully and perish the thought of becoming the president of Nigeria. Giwa, in a statement he issued on Monday, urged Pastor Bakare to learn from what is befalling vice president Yemi Osinbajo. According to the cleric, it is not possible for a man claiming to know Christ and also turn out to serve the devil. Bakare, in a video trending on the social media, declared that he would succeed President Muhammadu Buhari as 16th president of Nigeria. Giwa, in response to Bakare’s assertion, specifically quoted 1 John 2:15-16 which says, “Do not love the world or things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, that is, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life is not of the Father but is of the world.” “Whatever Pastor Tunde Bakare meant by the video, I challenge him to tell the world where the scripture says a Pastor should partake in politics. “Pastors can speak to power, advise and criticise when necessary. The moment you join politics as a Pastor, you have missed the road to heaven. “You will definitely compromise when you are with them. Why is it that professor Osinbajo has refused to talk on so many issues today? Why is it that he cannot call a spade a spade now? “All is because of money. You cannot serve God and as well serving money, it is impossible.” https://pulzenaija.com/news/2023-presidency-learn-from-osinbajo-youve-missed-the-way-to-heaven-pastor-giwa-tells-pastor-bakare/

https://pulzenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/iswap-Boko-Haram-768x436.jpg?v=1569162912 Worried by the increasing Boko Haram attacks on Gubio town and its environs, the Caretaker Chairman of Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State, Hon Zanna Modu, has hired the services of 200 special hunters from some parts of Adamawa, Gombe, Katsina and other states in Northern Nigeria to complement effort of the military and other security agencies and nip the crisis in the bud. Modu also said five patrol Hilux vehicles were newly procured and would be handed over to these special set of hunters who are to work hand in hand with the security agencies and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF). This was disclosed on Sunday by the Chairman while interacting with some journalists on the modalities put in place to end incessant attacks. Gubio is about 100km drive and North from Maiduguri, the state capital which has been witnessing series of attacks and destruction of properties in the last one month. Modu said, the measure to hire these special squad of hunters who are to be deployed for three months period is to ensure peace and resilience of fleeing residents return back to their communities. Recall that the renewed attacks by insurgents, which led to the abduction of one member of Civilian Joint Task Force and killing of one of its Commanders, have rendered hundreds displaced, with some taking refuge in Maiduguri Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp. Briefing journalists, the Caretaker Chairman said, “All modalities have been concluded for the arrival of the special squad of the hired hunters to the state on Sunday 22nd September, 2019 for onward movement to Gubio and its environs. ” Apart from other logistics, Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has given approval for procurement of five new patrol vehicles. As it is, we have procured additional five new Hilux patrol vehicles which are to be handed over to these hunters any moment from now.” On how much each of these hunters would receive as their monthly allowances to carry out the task, the Caretaker Chairman however declined to give further details on the monies to be spent on the three months term of agreement, but said, the Council will utilize all the necessary resources at its disposal for security operatives to ensure safety of lives and property. https://dailypost.ng/2019/09/22/boko-haram-govt-hires-200-special-hunters-fight-terrorists-borno/amp/ |

Thugs allegedly working for the Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Waste Management Agency, Prince Ikim on Monday, 16 September, allegedly assaulted and thereafter stripped a female journalist in the state, Mary Ekere for taking photographs of events at the popular Ibom plaza, Uyo, the state capital. It was gathered that the journalist who works with ‘The post Newspaper, ‘ a state-based Newspaper was passing along the plaza where she saw some task force operators seizing some goods belonging to traders in the plaza and she decided to take some pictures of the events. It was further gathered that the thugs irked by the journalist’s action allegedly beat her to stupor, stripped her naked and subsequently dragged her into a waiting vehicle. According to Miss Ekere, “I was taken to Sanitation Court, off Nkemba Street, unfortunately, the Magistrate was not around and I was remanded in prison custody” It was learnt that Miss Ekere was brought to the court the following day, Tuesday, by the prison guards in their vehicle where she pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against her before the court. She was then granted bail of N10,000. It was also learnt that Prince Ikim allegedly ordered that she should be sent back to prison even after meeting the bail conditions. She was then taken back to prison custody and is currently at the Uyo prisons. Reacting to the incident, the father to the accused, Hon. Idongesit Ekere said he was shocked by the incident, describing it as unfortunate. His words, “We waited from morning till afternoon for the Magistrate, who came in the afternoon. When she was arraigned, she pleaded not guilty to those charges and was granted bail. They asked me to pay N10,000, which I did and filled the bail form they gave with my passport. “The court guy said he was coming to inspect my house, but later came to tell me that Mary will not be released today (Tuesday) again as promised that the Magistrate had gone without signing the bail form. So Mary was taken back to prison custody. I took food to give to her at the prison, but they denied me access to her. They said I should give money that they will give her to buy food, which I did. So she is still in prison.” Meanwhile Journalists in the state have condemned in entirety the inhuman treatment against their colleague. In a release signed by the NUJ chairman, Comrade Amos Etuk, he expressed shock that Miss Ekere was sent back to prison even when the presiding judge had granted her bail, and the father met the bail terms. The NUJ body demanded her immediate and unconditional release before noon, today, Wednesday. Similarly, the chairman of the federated chapel, where the victim belongs to, comrade Inimfon Silas in a press statement condemned the act, saying that such was an indicator that journalists in the state are no longer safe to carry out their lawful duties. He vowed to use legal means to bring justice to the victim. Also the female journalists under the aegis of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Akwa Ibom state chapter were seen in a peaceful protest, early hours of today marching in their numbers to the sanitation court to register their grievances. The Chairman of NAWOJ, Comrade Uduak Ekong in a telephone interview with our correspondent who wondered why Miss Ekere would be forced to spend two nights in the prison custody even after meeting the bail term called for her immediate release as well as an unreserved apology to the accused. Comrade Ekong also called for total reorientation of the law enforcement agents in the state noting that even if they were authorized by the state government to stop people from trading around the plaza and along the road, they should carry out such duties with every sense of decency and decorum. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Waste Management Agency said he was not aware that Miss Ekere was still remanded in prison custody after meeting the bail terms. He promised to ensure that the accused is released soon. https://pulzenaija.com/news/how-thugs-allegedly-working-for-akwa-ibom-government-stripped-incarcerated-female-journalist/

https://pulzenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Lai-Mohammed.jpg The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has asked the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last elections, to apologise to Nigerians for “willfully distracting” the President Muhammadu Buhari administration with an election petition. This was contained in a statement Mohammed issued on Thursday. The Minister said while the PDP and its candidate reserved the right to pursue their petition to the highest level, they will be better served by dropping their toga of desperation and realizing that there is a limit to tomfoolery. “Nigerians are tired of this orchestrated distraction, and will rather wish that the opposition, having lost at the polls and in court, will now join hands with the government to move Nigeria to the next level. “This is more so that the judgement validating the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari was unanimous that the petition lacked merit, that the petitioners failed to prove any of the grounds upon which their case was anchored and that President Buhari is eminently qualified to contest the poll. “It is intriguing that a party that trumpets the rule of law at every turn will present, in open court, evidence it claimed to have obtained by hacking into a supposed INEC server. Don’t they realize this is a criminal act for which they are liable? Instead of threatening to head to the Supreme Court, driven more by ego than commonsense, they should be sorry for allowing desperation to overwhelm their sense of reasoning. Enough is enough. “We also thank Nigerians, who voted massively to re-elect President Buhari, for their continued support,” he said. https://pulzenaija.com/news/presidential-tribunal-why-atiku-should-apologize-to-buhari-lai-mohammed/ |
https://pulzenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Boris-Johnson.jpg The UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has announced the return of the two-year post-study work visa for international students. According to BBC news, the new immigration route announced on Wednesday means that graduates in any subject will once again be able to stay in the UK for two years to find work after they graduate. Currently, most international students reading bachelor’s and master’s degrees can stay and work for only four months. The move reverses a decision made in 2012 by the home secretary Theresa May, who abolished the two-year post-study work visa that had made Britain an attractive place for international students, saying it was ‘too generous’. That led to a sharp drop in students going to Britain. The new immigration route will be available to international students who have successfully completed a course in any subject at undergraduate level or higher level at a Higher Education Provider which has a proven track record in upholding immigration checks and other rules on studying in the UK. Also, students will need to have Tier 4 leave at the point the route is introduced. This includes students who start courses in 2020/21 at undergraduate level or above. The new route enables eligible students to work or look for work, at any skill level, for two years after they graduate before needing to convert to another visa or having to leave the country. According to the Prime Minister, this change would see students “unlock their potential” and begin careers in the UK. https://pulzenaija.com/news/uk-boris-johnson-announces-2-year-work-visa-for-international-students/ |

The World Bank has dropped a bombshell that Nigeria was dying slowly and tragically living on borrowed time due to its neglect of the agricultural sector and heavy reliance on crude oil. World Bank’s Senior Agriculture Economist, Dr Adetunji Oredipe, on Thursday warned of the looming danger ahead of Nigeria while delivering a keynote address at the Agriculture Summit Africa in Abuja. According to him, economic diversification into agricultural should be in practice not theory as the economy has become increasingly dependent on importation. He said if Nigeria had held to its market share in palm oil, cocoa, groundnut and cotton, it would have been earning at least $10billion annually from the three commodities. Painting the gloomy picture of the country’s agricultural sector, the World Bank Agricultural Economist regretted Nigeria is now one of the largest food importers in the world. He said: “In 2016 alone, Nigeria spent $965million on the importation of wheat, $39.7million to import rice and $100.2million on sugar importation.” He added that the decision to spend $655million on fish importation seems financially irresponsible given all the marine resources, rivers, lakes, and creeks in Nigeria. He noted: “None of the above transactions (Importation of rice, fish, sugar) is fiscally, economically, or politically sustainable. Nigeria is tragically is living on borrowed times, a typical case of robbing Paul to pay Peter. “For instance, each time we spend money to import rice, Nigerian local rice farmers are negatively affected in terms of morale, sales, and realisable income.” He lamented that despite its huge agricultural potential, Nigeria which used to be a major player in agriculture in the world has lost its place in the global food production club. He said, “In the 1960s we had glory. That glory was visible and significant for the global community to recognise and applaud. Nigeria accounted for 42 percent of the world’s exports of shelled groundnuts. Our total export volume was 502, 000 MT. “This declined to 356 MT by 2016. Nigeria lost its leadership position and was overtaken by USA, China, and Argentina. Nigeria was also the largest exporter of palm oil in the world and accounted for 27 percent of the global export volume for palm oil. “Total export volume for palm oil by Nigeria was 167,000 MT in 1961. This declined to 8,000 MT by 2016 as the global export volume rose from 629,000 MT in 1961 to over 42.1 million MT in 2016. “Malaysia and Indonesia took over using the oil palm seedlings obtained from Nigeria. In 2018, Malaysia earned $8.7billion, 28.6 percent of total palm oil exports from export of palm oil alone. “Indonesia alone recorded US$16.5billion, 54.5 percent of total palm oil exports. Unfortunately, Nige- ria is not listed among the first 15 as at this moment.” He said the huge taste of Nigerians for imported food items had also contributed to high levels of unemployment for the youths. “Food producing factories in Western world, Far East Asia and other countries employ millions of young people to produce and export food. This is a source of livelihood and it helps the workers to live well and go to school. “But on our side of the world, Nigerian youths have no one to hire them to build their capacity. This is a typical case of disguised employment or unemployment. It is unacceptable for our graduates to have no one who needs their university /polytechnic acquired knowledge and skills.” The event was attended by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who was represented by the Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Musta- pha Shehuri. Other dignitaries in attendance included the Minister of Women Affairs Mrs Paulen Tallen; Governor of Kebbi State Atiku Bagudu; Chairman of Sterling Bank Plc, Asue Ig- hodalo; and the Managing Director of Sterling Bank Plc, Abubakar Suleiman. https://pulzenaija.com/news/world-bank-drops-bombshell-about-nigerias-future-predicts-economic-doom/

The South African High Commission in Nigeria has shut down operations. This was reported on Thursday by eNCA, a South African media house. It quoted the Department of International Relations and Cooperation’s Lunga Ngqengelele, as saying the decision was out of concern for the safety of employees of the embassy. “We have been in communication with the Nigerian government and we have been assured of the protection of the businesses belonging to SA. “Nigerian police quelled the uprising from the Nigerians attacking SA business, we understand that arrests were made. We are pleased that there was no loss of life,” he said. There have been reprisal attacks in Nigeria over the xenophobia in South Africa. |
https://pulzenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/raji-tinubu.jpg Former Head of Service in Lagos State, Alhaji Rafiu Tinubu is dead. Tinubu died in Abuja on Wednesday at the age of 75, after a brief illness. A statement signed by Mr Gboyega Akosile, Chief Press Secretary to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, described Tinubu’s death as a huge loss to the state and the nation in general. Sanwo-Olu sympathized with Tinubu’s family, the deceased’s friends and associates, saying: “Alhaji Tinubu’s demise came at a time the nation and Lagos in particular needed his wealth of experience the most.” “As experienced administrator per excellence, we certainly will miss the late Alhaji Tinubu’s counsel on matters of importance in the state civil service.” The Governor said people of the state would always remember the “laudable achievements” of the former top civil servant, who, he said, served the state meritoriously for 26 years before he rose to become the Head of Service. Sanwo-Olu said: “We can’t forget the contributions of late Alhaji Rafiu Tinubu towards the professionalization of Lagos civil service. His quest for excellence and exemplary leadership were a hallmark of his earthly sojourn. “We condole the Tinubu family, especially our National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, wife and children of the deceased and the entire extended families of a late elder statesman. “I pray that Almighty Allah grants the late Alhaji Rafiu Tinubu Al-Janah Firdaus and grant members of the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.” https://pulzenaija.com/news/breaking-news-tinubu-is-dead-sanwo-olu-reacts/ |
https://pulzenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Ghana-Must-Go.jpg In a post that also examines the history of the popular Ghana must go, the concerned Nigerian said corruption is one of the reasons for xenophobia. He writes below: ARE WE NOT BOLD ENOUGH TO REAP WHAT WE PLANTED MANY YEARS AGO? We sent Ghanians away which pushed them to develop their nation to what it is today. South Africans are pushing us away so we can rise up to say “enough is enough”. For me it is a matter of going to WAR, but not with South Africans but with ourselves to plot out corruption and develop our nation. Please reevisit this piece of history below: In 1983, when Shehu Shagari was the President of Nigeria, an executive order was given to immigrants without proper immigration documents to leave the country or they would be arrested according to the law. Most of the immigrants were West Africans and mainly Ghanaians . Over 2 million men, women and children were affected. [1] Incidentally, in 1969, Ghana also expelled Nigerians from its country. In 1969, Ghana enacted the Aliens Compliance Order in which hundreds of thousands of immigrants, most of which were Nigerians, were forcefully expelled from the country. The major route to Ghana was through the West passing through Benin and Togo. Over 1 Million Ghanaians were affected by the order. Ghanaians were mostly attracted to Nigeria because of the oil market of the 70’s, but in 1983 when the “Ghana Must Go” revolution started, the economy had weakened and was fast falling apart. It was also the election year during that time. Once the migrants got to Benin, the way out was restricted. Those who had already made it to Benin were stuck in the port of Cotonou, the capital city of Benin, with hopes of getting a boat to Ghana. The problems they experienced didn’t end there, because due to an attempted coup the previous year, Ghana’s president Jerry Rawlings had closed the main land crossing with Togo to avoid the sudden arrival of over 1 Million people. Togo then also shut its borders with Benin. The immigrants were stranded for weeks, thereafter the Ghanaian authority opened their borders causing Togo to also open theirs, for the Ghanaian refugees to have access back home. The relationship between Nigeria and Ghana has since been strengthened. The migration was then named “Ghana Must Go”. https://pulzenaija.com/others/xenophobia-why-nigerians-should-learn-from-history-of-ghana-must-go/ |

Timi Dakolo, popular Nigerian singer, has condemned the xenophobic attack on Nigerians and other foreigners in South Africa. Dakolo described the attack as an attitude seen and displayed by animals. A video had surfaced online of South Africans attacking some Nigerians and foreigners in the country. A statement by the commission on Tuesday said Darlington, 26, a graduate of Fine and Applied Art, was arrested at a restaurant in Lekki, Lagos. The EFCC said he was captured in an attempt to retrieve his car which he had abandoned to escape arrest. “The EFCC operative in an earlier operation had seized a vehicle allegedly belonging to Darlington who fled the scene, abandoning his vehicle. “In an attempt to retrieve the vehicle, through a proxy, luck ran out of him when the operatives denied the proxy access to the car and trailed him to a restaurant where Darlington was arrested. “At the point of arrest, fraudulent documents, and pornographic videos were recovered. “The suspect would soon be arraigned in court,” the statement read. https://pulzenaija.com/news/efcc-arrests-yahoo-boy-allegedly-with-fraudulent-documents-porn-videos/ |
https://pulzenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Niger-Delta-Militants-1.jpg Niger Delta militant group, The Reformed Niger Delta Avengers, RNDA, has threatened to blow up oil installations and facilities in the region and bring the country to its “knees.” RNDA vowed to carry out its threats should the Federal Government go ahead with the purported plan to take away supervision of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, from Ministry of Niger Delta to the Office of Secretary to Government of the Federation, OSGF. The militant’s threat was contained in a statement issued by its leader, self-styled “Gen” Johnmark Ezonbi, on Monday. According to the statement: “We will bring the nation to its knees and return Nigeria to the era of another recession if the Secretary to Federal Government and the so-called selfish self- centered, greedy power- drunken politicians refuse to stop their evil arrangement. “It has come to our notice that there was an ongoing meeting initiated by some power-drunk and self- centered leaders from the region, who have lost control of the affairs of the NDDC. They are collaborating with some top officials in the Presidency to transfer the supervision of the NDDC to the OSGF all in a bid to divert the fund for their personal gains towards 2023. “We sternly warn those behind this evil plot to retrace their steps or live to regret their actions as they will not be spared in the onslaught christened ‘Final Battle to Rescue NDDC from the Hawks, Blood for Oil.” “Any attempt to remove the NDDC, from the supervision of Niger Delta Ministry to OSGF would be met with stiff resistance not minding the negative impact our action would have on the nation’s economy. “The RNDA will not fold its arms and watch people that are anti-Niger-Delta and with divisive tendencies to hold the NDDC, the only federal government interventionist agency meant to address under developmental challenges occasioned by the deliberate neglect, crude oil exploration and exploitation to ransom. They want to make it a toothless bulldog in order to carry out their wicked, callous, nefarious, inhuman and avaricious bidding.” “Let it be put on record that if the NDDC is removed from the supervision of the Niger Delta Ministry to the Office of the Secretary to the Federal Government, we will carry out collateral damage on all available oil installations and facilities across the length and breadth of the Niger Delta region. “We have warned and there will be no going back as enough is enough with playing politics and power tussle with the development of the region which spoons that feeds the nation. “If this devilish and heartless arrangement is not put to an end, RNDA should not be held responsible for any causality that happens to bring down the production of crude oil production in the creeks of Niger Delta. RNDA with the nine other militant groups in the creek cannot watch and allow such wicked, inhuman, barbaric arrangement to take place just to suffer the people of the Niger Delta. “They want to render the NDDC meaningless to the region when efforts should be geared to strengthen and release all funds accruing to the Commission, rather they want to reduce it to a mere bureaucratic office, we will not allow that to happen. “Let every son and daughter of the Niger Delta region and the country know that any attempt by some misguided elements bent on removing the supervision of the NDDC from the Niger Delta Ministry to the OSGF will only lead to crippling of the nation’s economy because that will be the last option. We will not rest until we bring down the oil and gas sector to ground zero, a word is enough for the wise. “It is painful that after sacrificing our lives in support of President Muhammadu Buhari- led APC federal government and entered into ceasefire agreement for peace to reign in the region, the only thing to pay back the people of the Niger Delta is to strangulate development. “The RNDA and coalition of nine militant groups, however, want to thank President Buhari for appointing former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio and Chief Festus Keyamo, SAN, as Minister of the Niger Delta and Minister of State for Niger Delta. “RNDA will throw their weight behind then to succeed but the so-called cabal that wants to render the NDDC useless by trying to remove the powers of the Ministry on the supervisory functions to the NDDC will be resisted with any means necessary.” https://pulzenaija.com/news/just-in-niger-delta-militants-issue-fresh-threats/ |
