PoliticsMohammed Vs Balla: INEC Closes Defense In Bauchi Governorship Election Petition by Pulsenaija(op): 6:12pm On Sep 02, 2019
https://pulzenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/inec.jpg

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has on Monday opened and closed its defense in the governorship election petition filed by the former Governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Abubakar, against the victory of the incumbent Governor, Bala Mohammed before a tribunal.

PULZE NAIJA reports that the electoral body, Peoples Democratic Party and Bala are respondents in the petition.

The Electoral Commission had during the sitting informed the court that there was no need for her to call any witness or tender any documents.

Counsel to INEC Illo Sanusi (SAN), who made the submission, urged the tribunal to consider the exhibits presented before it which were cross-examined by them to deliver judgment.

Having listened to arguments by both parties, the tribunal chairman Justice Salihu Shuaibu adjourned sitting to Tuesday 3rd September 2019 for the second respondent Governor Bala Mohammed to open his defense.

Fashion8 Fashion Brands In The World And People Behind It by Pulsenaija(op): 3:29pm On Sep 02, 2019
8 Fashion Brands In The World And People Behind It – You probably have heard big fashion brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Gucci, Versace etc – and perhaps might have, at one time, thought about how they looked or the people behind them. Some of the geniuses behind these big fashion brands may tend to be camera shy, or may choose to stay away from them, perhaps for their sanity, or to concentrate more on their craft, or perhaps for some other reasons – apparently best known to them.

Should you have ever wondered what the faces behind those beautiful, out-of-this-world and madly expensive designs looked like, we have compiled a list of the faces behind the most famous fashion brands – of course, for your reading pleasure.

Please, do read and share!

1. Gianni Varsace

Gianni%2BVarsace
Gianni Versace had a mom who was a seamstress, so he spent a great deal of his childhood learning how to sew. He first launched a Versace boutique in 1978 and quickly went international. Gianni got his design inspirations from contemporary and pop cultures. He was also one of the first designers to link fashion to the music world and was friends with legends like Elton John, Cher, Sting, Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. Versace died in 15th July, 1997, after which his sister Donatella Versace took over the business.

2. Miuccia Prada

Miuccia%2BPrada
The youngest granddaughter of Mario Prada, Miuccia Bianchi Prada took over the family business in 1978. One of the best-dressed women in the world (as per Forbes), Miuccia is the head designer of the luxury brand Prada and the founder of its subsidiary Miu Miu. Although most of her designed goods look more like pieces of art than actual clothes, Miuccia abstains from merging fashion with art by proclaiming that “Art is for expressing ideas and for expressing a vision. My job is to sell.”

3. Dolce and Gabbana

Dolce%2Band%2BGabbana
Domenico Dolce, 60, and Stefano Gabbana, 56, came in contact with each other mid 1980, in Milan when they both were working for the same fashion house. Afterwards, they created their own fashion label five years later. Dolce & Gabbana later became known for their sensual and sexy style, often inspired by classic and feminine looks of the women of Sicily. The business partners also share their romantic life together.

The duo is known to always be associated to one controversy or the other – the most recent one was stirred up last year when they posted a video on their social media accounts, of an Asian model eating Italian food with chopsticks. Dolce & Gabbana was accused of racism and their show in Shanghai was canceled.

4. Roberto Cavalli

Roberto%2BCavalli
Roberto studied weaving techniques at a young age, which fascinated him more than his actual formal school studies. It soon became an inspiration to drop out of school and open his own textile printing business, that slowly made him a name in the fashion world. At 32, Roberto Cavalli presented his first ready-to-wear collection in a Paris fashion show organized at that time. Not long after, he opened a fashion boutique in Saint-Tropez and his name became synonymous with glamorous and sexy style.

5. Tommy Hilfiger

Tommy%2BHilfiger
Thomas Jacob Hilfiger, born March 24, 1951 (age 68) after working in a clothing store on Cape Cod in 1969, decided to use his life savings of $150 to open a clothing store in 1971. The People’s Place soon went bankrupt in 1977. After bankruptcy, he moved to New York City – the fashion capital of the US – where he worked for several brands. By the age of 28, he once again took a shot at creating his own clothing company, called Tommy Hill. Six years later, he established the Tommy Hilfiger Corporation which was destined to become one of the most recognizable fashion brands in the world.

6. Tom Ford

Tom%2BFord
Tom Ford, 58, has shown without a doubt to be the master of all, this can be shown in his professionalism in his career path as a fashion designer, film director, screenwriter, and film producer. Mr. Ford is of many talents and not only designs clothes and makeup but has directed such movies as A Single Man and Nocturnal Animals. Tom spent his childhood in the suburbs of Texas and later – in New Mexico. Tom launched a line of menswear, beauty wear, and accessories back in 2006. You can take a break ladies, he’s gay, and definitely very much married to his gay partner

7. John Galli [Dior]

John%2BGalli
Even though John has been proclaimed as one of the greatest British designers and even has been named British Designer of the Year four times, his career has seen its sunset after the scandal of 2011. Apparently, John holds anti-Semitic views and was not afraid to express it in a public place, after, probably, having one or two glasses of wine. Therefore, to no surprise, his own label was shut down the same year and he was fired from Christian Dior.

8. Calvin Klein

Calvin%2BKlein
Having been born to Jewish parents in 1942, Calvin Richard Klein launched his company that would later become Calvin Klein Inc., in 1968. He is renowned for being an amazing businessman that took undergarment fashion to a whole new level. Thanks to this veteran fashion genius, the world now craves for panties with a CK line on them. Of course, that’s not all that he crafts – the brand Calvin Klein also produces clothes, perfume, and accessories.

EducationBenue State University Closed As Students Protest New CGPA Grading by Pulsenaija(op): 1:31pm On Sep 02, 2019
https://pulzenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Benue-State-University-1.jpg

The Benue State University, Makurdi, has been shut down indefinitely, PULZE NAIJA is reporting.

The management of the institution, while announcing the closure on Monday, in a statement signed by its Registrar, Dr. Mrs. Mfaga Modom, said the decision was not unconnected to the closure of entry gates of the university by the students on Monday morning.

“Following the closure of all the university entry gates by students on Monday, 2nd September 2019 despite all entreaties by the University Management, the Vice-Chancellor/Chairman of Senate on behalf of the Senate of the Benue State University, Makurdi has approved the closure of the University with immediate effect”, the statement said.

Though the cause of the students’ action was not known to this newspaper, but the management said its swift decision to shut down the university, was “to avoid further breakdown of law and order in and around the University campus”.

The statement also directed all students to “vacate the campus latest 4.00 p.m. today, Monday, 2nd September 2019”.

Rev. Elisha Numan of the Baptist Church, Ungwan Makers, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State abducted on 14th August 2019 has regained his freedom.

Recall that gunmen abducted Numan from his house on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at about 2 am, alongside his son, Emmanuel.

The bandits, however, later freed the son to go home and raise money for his father’s ransom.

Kaduna state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Rev. Joseph Hayab while confirming the release of the abducted pastor called on the government and security agencies to do everything possible to address the increasing wave of kidnappings in the state.

Rev. Hayab explained, “Rev. Elisha Numan was released on Saturday night after two weeks in captivity. He was released after a ransom was paid following series of negotiations with the bandits on the ransom.

“We thank God for his mercies. We pray for God’s intervention in the calamity that seems to have befallen us as a nation.

“We will also continue to call on the government and the security agencies to do everything within their powers to stop the increasing spate of criminality across the country, especially the increasing wave of kidnappings in Kaduna State.”

Family sources confirmed that the release of the cleric was as a result of a series of negotiations with the bandits, who initially demanded N20 million.

The source explained that Pastor Numan was released on Saturday evening after the payment of an undisclosed amount of money as ransom.

Works and housing minister, Babatunde Fashola has alerted members of the public to a fake Facebook account opened in his name and warned people against falling prey to the antics of the scammers behind it.

Fashola, in a statement by Mr Hakeen Bello, his Special Adviser on Communications, said that the fake account, which had his name and picture, was opened by dupes and scammers.

The statement was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Sunday in Abuja.

“The minister has, on several occasions in the past, disclaimed such fake accounts,” the statement said, and reiterated that Fashola’s verified Facebook account remained @BABATUNDEFASHOLA.

It said that the latest fake account set up in the former Lagos State Governor’s name claimed that the Federal Government was giving out the sum of N700,000 to youths and young adults to enable them pay school fees, set up businesses and invest in businesses, among others.

“Part of the publication written in very poor English by the scammers read:

“All the Nigeria Citozings of All the and Local Government in Nigeria Are Beneficiary of the Federal Government Money Enpwoerment to Empower the Youth to Pay There School.

“Adult to do Business Etc. Contact Number 08035339533). Good News…To All Nigeria Youth and Adult… Federal Government is Giving Out N700,000 Free Cash Transfer To All To Empower the Youth Further Their Educations, Open Good Business and Learn Good Works.

Bello quoted the minister as describing the activities of the scammers as “unfortunate”, wondering why people still fall prey to the scammers “in spite of repeated warnings and disclaimers”.

The statement said that the warning became necessary in view of the increasing activities of the scammers.

It advised members of the public to always clarify with the appropriate agencies of government before engaging in any dealing with people purportedly working for them.

It also urged people to report to the law enforcement agencies so that those involved in the nefarious acts could be brought to justice.

Christianity EtcCAN Lists Bishop, Pastor, Others Still Being Held By Kidnappers In Kaduna by Pulsenaija(op): 2:21pm On Aug 26, 2019
Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State Chapter, Rev. Joseph Hayab on Monday disclosed that despite several efforts made by CAN in the state to ensure that kidnappers released the pastor and two children of the bishop kidnapped recently, the victims are still in captivity

In a statement he personally signed and issued in Kaduna Monday, Hayab explained that “Rev. Elisha Numan of Baptist Church Angwan Makeri and the two children of one of our Bishops in Kaduna are still in the hands of kidnappers.”

According to him, “They were abducted about three weeks ago and are still being held in captivity till date. The church and their families are helpless and traumatised.

“We are once again calling on security agencies to do the needful and help secure our people.

“Weeks ago, when CAN cried out against the evil being unleashed on our people by these kidnappers, some funny people, using religious cover, were sponsored to malign and accuse CAN of beating the war drum.

“Thankfully, every peace-loving person knew that they were sponsored to divert attention to the real issues bedevilling the people.

“The pains of knowing your love one has been captured by kidnappers and you cannot do anything and no one is saying anything or consoling you, is excruciating.

“How can citizens have faith and trust in their government when they suffer and they are coerced to keep silence?
Keeping silence will not help to address the problem.

“When we cry out, we are doing so as a wake up call and also extending invitation to those who share in our pains to join us cry out for justice.

“We want to appeal to these kidnappers to fear God and release Rev. Elisha Numan and the two children of our Bishop.

“Rev Elisha was sick when he was kidnapped and we are afraid about his health. The son of our Bishop is just 9 years old. He is not strong and mature to go through this torture.

“We are appealing that these inocent people be release. For those who see the cries of CAN as politics, we forgive them for their ignorance or greed and pray that they will not be ashame and afraid to cry out when someone close to them becomes a victim,” Hayab said.

PoliticsCourt Summons AGF, EFCC Over Ex-gov Yari’s Property by Pulsenaija(op): 1:38pm On Aug 26, 2019
The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday, summoned the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to appear before it over plans to seize the property of the immediate-past Governor of Zamfara State, Mr Abdulaziz Yari.

NAN reports that Justice Nkeonye Maha, who made the order after listening to the arguments canvassed in a motion exparte by counsel to Yari, Mahmud Magaji SAN, adjourned the matter till Aug. 30.

The motion ex parte, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/948/2019, was brought pursuant to section 46(1) and (3) of the 1999 constitution and order 4 rule 3 and 4 of the fundamental rights (enforcement procedure) rules 2009.

The AGF is the 1st respondent while the EFCC is the 2nd respondent in the suit.

Justice Maha equally ordered that the respondents be served with the court processes within 48 hours before adjourned further proceedings.

EducationAccreditation: 1,000 Poly Students Threaten Court Action Over Non-release Of Res by Pulsenaija(op): 10:10pm On Aug 25, 2019
Over 1,000 former students of the Adesun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa in Oyo State, on Sunday, threatened to sue the management of the institution for allegedly delaying their results two years after they graduated.

The students said that the need to approach a court of law was necessary due to the non-release of their results, two years after they graduated from the institution.

One of the affected students, who spoke on behalf of over 1,000 students that were affected, Onubi Samuel Everest, said he was subjected to several panels by the management of the institution while his course of study lasted.

He described the action of the institution to delay their results as a deliberate ploy to deny them a future as years spent on campus had ended in waste.

The students alleged that the institution admitted them when they knew there was no accreditation for their courses.

Everest said many parents of the affected students were still in shock of what could have led to non-existent of results of their children, after completing their studies.

He said; “The whole problem started two years ago when the former Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi considered the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa for autonomy.

“The management admitted us for High National Diploma knowing that many of their courses were not accredited.

“The school told us that National Board for Technical Education and the management of the institution had agreed on accreditation before the completion of our first session but it was a lie.

“Management advertised sales of its forms and we were lured into it. We purchased the forms and started the programme but they later told us after completion of our programmes that we were admitted in error.

“We are more than 1,000 students from five departments. The most annoying thing about it is that we have not had any information from the management since we have completed our programmes, two years ago.”

The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr. Gbenga Olayiwola confirmed the matter.

Olayiwola while reacting, said the state government had taken over the matter.

He said “The state government has set up a panel of inquiry to look into the matter and their findings would be made known soon.”

CrimeBoko Haram: Army Commanders Take ‘battle’ To Insurgents’ Hideouts At 3am In Born by Pulsenaija(op): 11:44am On Aug 25, 2019
Determined to completely smoke out remnants of Boko Haram sect terrorizing Borno State and its environs, leaders of the Operation LAFIYA DOLE; embarked on a patrol at the wee hours of Sunday.

The team was led by the newly-appointed Theatre Commander Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Maj Gen Olusegun Adeniyi alongside Maj Gen MG Ali, the Commander Nigerian Army Special Forces, Brig-Gen SO Igbinowahia, the 7 Div Garrison Commander in Gajigana, Northern Borno, who were seen patrolling around 3.12 a.m. on Sunday, 25 August 2019.

CelebritiesIf Burna Boy Does Not Stop This, He Might Fade Away Real Soon (must Read) by Pulsenaija(op): 3:00pm On Aug 24, 2019
https://pulzenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Burna-Boy.png

Burna Boy’s use of Fela Vibes is becoming  too much. Kilode!!!

Let’s put sentiment aside, Burna Boy who used to be formally addressed as Reggae dance hall act with songs like; “Run My Race“, “Like To Party” is now beginning to over-use Fela Afro-beat style of music.

Burna Boy’s first two albums, ‘LIFE‘ and ‘ON A SPACESHIP‘ were dope albums even without any form of Fela Vibe on both music projects.

There is nothing wrong in embracing new sound, but attempt to hold on to this one style might render him irrelevant real soon in the music industry.

Burna Boy seems to have picked up the style after “Ye” and “Gbona” became a huge success last year. This 2019, no attempt has been made by the self-acclaimed “African Giant” to diversify his sound a bit. He has never done any song that sounds different from Fela‘s vibe.

Listen to Burna Boy‘s album, it’s Fela‘s style from start to finish, which made the album boring at some point. The truth is, Fela succeeded because Afro-beat sound is his creation which comes with heavy messages of political activism.

Meanwhile, Burna Boy is in no way near Fela when it comes to lyrics that touch people by heart and let’s not forget Fela is a beast when it comes to playing musical instruments.

The likes of Wizkid will continue to reign due to the ability to diversify sound from Afro-beats to Afro-pop. Therefore, Burna Boy should also consider diversifying.

Too much of sugar dey cause Jedi and Jedi fit kill pesin.

Do You Think Burna Boy Is Over-using Fela’s Vibe?

Should Burna Boy Consider Changing To His Old Style At Least Once In A While On Songs?

Let’s have your thoughts on this

PoliticsEkweremadu Was Beaten For Disrespecting Igbo Attire In Germany – Biafra Group by Pulsenaija(op): 2:47pm On Aug 24, 2019
The Biafra National Youth League, BNYL, has revealed that a former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu was actually attacked by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, for abusing the Igbo attire, ‘the Lion Head Attire’.

A lot of reasons had emerged even from the Nnamdi Kanu-led IPOB as to why the lawmaker was physically assaulted in Germany.

IPOB, had in a statement titled: “Operation Python Dance instigator Ike Ekweremadu disgraced by IPOB Nuremberg Family“, claimed that the former DSP was attacked because of his role in the military operation in Igboland

But the BNYL said that could not be the reason, because, according to the group, Ekweremadu and Abaribe were the two defiant Senators who voiced out against the FG’s action and even went to Court challenging it.

A statement to DAILY POST on Saturday signed by its President, Prince Chimex Richard National, the pro-Biafra group said, “We have followed with keen interest mix reactions trailing over the assault on Former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

“[We] decided to study the situation to know what really transpired as per the actual reason the aggrieved Igbos in Germany who are loyal to the IPOB acted that way.

“To me, if the reason was his involvement in Python Dance saga, I think that the people got it wrong, Ekweremadu and Abaribe were the two defiant Senators that voiced out against the FG action and even went to Court challenging it.

“But if the reason was his appearance which does not depict the Igbo culture then their action is justifiable.

“The abuse of our ‘Lion Gown’ is highly condemnable, it is only in Igbo land that our politicians practice One Nigeria in their appearance.

“You can’t see a Hausa man wearing a Babariga designed with Coat of Arms; you can’t see a Yoruba man wearing an Agbada designed with a coat of arm; it is only the Igbo that acts cowardly to please their masters.

“Even current Senate President Ahmed Lawan can’t design his Babariga with Coat of Arm and Nigeria flag to showcase he is a government official.

“Ndigbo have to be disciplined, disrespect of Igbo culture will not be condoned, Igboland will not be conducive for whoever abuses our ‘Ishi’Agu Attire’.”

EventsBbnaija: Why Diane Shouldn’t Be Evicted This Sunday – Gedonia by Pulsenaija(op): 1:52pm On Aug 21, 2019
Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, housemate, Gedoni on Tuesday appealed to Nigerians to save Diane from possible eviction this week.

PULZE NAIJA had reported that seven BBNaija housemates, including Mike, Seyi, Mercy, Diane, Frodd, Jackie and Gedoni, have been selected for possible eviction this week.

The housemates were nominated after the ‘Cruistopia team’ were defeated during the arena game challenge.

Elozonam, who won the veto power on Sunday, saved Venita and replaced her with Frodd from her team, ‘Cruistopia’.

Gedoni, while speaking to Big Brother during Tuesday diary session, said he wants Diane to be saved from eviction on Sunday because she needs to learn to be a better person from the housemates.

Gedoni said this when Biggie asked who he would like to save from possible eviction on Sunday.

“I see BBnaija as a training ground and as much as Diane feels she has learned I feel she needs to earn more. She stands a big chance if not evicted of being a better person.

“Nigerians should vote for her and push her to stay in BBnaija house because I feel like she needs more training.”

PoliticsDismiss Atiku’s Petition, No Law Requires Me To Tender My Certificates – Buhari by Pulsenaija(op): 1:44pm On Aug 21, 2019
President Muhammadu Buhari, Wednesday, insisted that there is no law in Nigeria that requires him to produce his certificates in a bid to prove his eligibility to run for Presidency.

Buhari argued that that under the 1999 Constitution, he was only required to be educated.

He stated this through his counsel, Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, while adopting his final brief of argument in opposition to the petition the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, filed to nullify Buhari’s 2019 re-election, at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.

The President also urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition challenging his election and his educational qualifications because it lacked merit and substance.

He said: “The law is well settled and the case-law is crystalized on the point that the 2nd Respondent (Buhari) cannot go beyond provisions of sections 131 and 131(cool of the 1999 Constitution.

“The case-law is replete with decisions of this Court on the subject. We cannot amend the constitution.

“We need to make it very clear at this point that the Constitution and laws of the land do not expect any Certificate to be tendered or attached.”

PoliticsJob Alert: Government Begins Recruitment As Job Portal Opens by Pulsenaija(op): 9:54am On Aug 16, 2019
The Ogun State Government on Thursday launched its job portal earlier announced in July.

Governor Dapo Abiodun at the launch held at the Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, said this was in fulfillment of his promise to focus on employment.

According to him, “The official launching of the Ogun Job Portal, today, is another milestone in the successful implementation of our “administration’s “Building our Future Together” agenda.

“Let me state that this job portal will register, on a continuous basis, employed and unemployed youths in the State with a view to providing them jobs and training opportunities suitable for their trade and academic qualifications. For those who care, a country with a 23.1 percent unemployment rate or 20.93 million young people out of job is sitting on a keg of gunpowder”

”To underscore the severity of this challenge, you all will recall how many of our young people died looking for Immigration jobs in 2014. Also recently, when the Customs Service called for employment, 525,215 applicants applied online for the less than 2,000 vacant positions.

“We cannot sit and watch this situation degenerate any further, hence this is a way of thinking out of the box. Not all of us will do White Collar jobs and not all White Collar jobs increase GDP.

”This portal will, therefore, provide a platform for readily available and updated information of our graduates and those with vocational skills across the State with the aim of matching them with potential employers, training opportunities, not only within the Public Service but also with the Private Sector, as our partners.”

CelebritiesFight Or Be Out Of Boxing For Years – Anthony Joshua’s Camp Warns Andy Ruiz Jr by Pulsenaija(op): 2:19pm On Aug 14, 2019
https://pulzenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Joey-Dawejko-warned-Anthony-Joshua-about-Andy-Ruiz-4066.jpg

Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn has made it clear to Andy Ruiz Jr that their rematch will absolutely take place in Saudi Arabia.

Ruiz had claimed in an Instagram post that the second fight with Joshua will be on “my terms” and “in the United States”.

Joshua invoked a rematch clause which was part of Ruiz Jr’s original contract for their first fight on June 1 after he lost his IBF, WBA and WBO belts to the Mexican.

Hearns insists that as a result, details of the rematch do not need to be agreed in fresh negotiations.

“The contract for the rematch was signed prior to the first fight.

“They are both signed at the same time. There is no other contract.

“We have to let [Ruiz Jr] know the time, date and venue which we have done. That’s it.

“They are contractually bound for the rematch.

“There are no conversations between the two teams about not doing the fight. I don’t perceive a problem.

“He signed a contract with us that he was absolutely over the moon with, that gave him the opportunity of a lifetime. He will 100 percent honor that contract.

“His choice is to have a legal battle that could put him out of boxing for years or to defend his belts for a lot of money against a guy he has already beaten. There isn’t any doubt he will take the fight,” Hearn told Sky Sports.

EducationUNIBADAN Bans Male Visitors From Female Hostels, Gives Reason by Pulsenaija(op): 5:49pm On Aug 13, 2019
The management of the University of Ibadan has announced that male visitors have henceforth been banned from entering any of the female hostels in the institution.

The institution announced that the decision to ban male visitors from the hostels was necessitated by recent robbery attacks on female hostels in the institution.

PULZENAIJA recalls that some armed robbers had in July this year, attacked the Obafemi Awolowo hall, where students’ property ranging from mobile telephones, laptops and money were forcefully taken away from the innocent female students. Our correspondent gathered that no fewer than two students were injured in the robbery attack in the female hostel.

A similar incident was recorded at the Abubakar Abdulsalami hall, a post-graduate hostel, in the early hours of Sunday, where students’ property were taken away. Some students were also injured during the Sunday attack.

But, the institution in a release titled, “Security measures in Queen Elizabeth Hall, Queen Idia Hall, and Obafemi Awolowo Hall”, said that as part of measures to curtain the robbery attacks, female students should also be screened at the Porters’ lodge in the female hostels.

Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Idowu Olayinka, in a statement obtained by DAILY POST on Tuesday, added that residents of the female hostels are to receive visitors outside their respective hostels.

Olayinka said, “In view of the recent security situation on the Campus male visitors are henceforth prohibited from entering the above listed Female Halls of Residence.

“The Residents of the aforementioned Halls can only receive their male visitors outside the Hall. Female visitors should be screened at the Porters’ Lodge.

“Moreover, all-male visitors are expected to leave the precincts of the female Halls by 8:30 pm. Any one found loitering will be regarded as a suspect.”

Technology MarketApple Offers $1m To Anyone Who Can Hack An Iphone by Pulsenaija(op): 11:42am On Aug 13, 2019
https://pulzenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/ApplePhone-768x768.jpg

Apple is offering hackers up to $1 million to hack into their iPhones and tell the company how they did it.

The bounty, which was announced by the iPhone-maker at the annual Black Hat hacker convention in Las Vegas, is the company’s biggest ever.

In the past, Apple limited its bug bounty program to a restricted list of friendly hackers, but it has now opened up the reward to everyone.

It will only pay out the top prize for a very specific hack: Hackers will have to show that they can gain remote access to the very core of Apple’s iOS software without needing the target, the phone’s user, to take any action.

Bug bounty programs, in which companies invite hackers to find vulnerabilities in their systems, have become increasingly popular in recent years as a way of preventing criminals from finding and exploiting those flaws first.

And Apple’s $1 million rewards is in line with what hackers would likely be paid for uncovering such a bug.

Recently, a group of hackers working for Google’s Project Zero program uncovered a cache of flaws in Apple’s software, which would allow hackers to gain access to your phone simply by sending you a message.

But the Google hackers quietly shared the details with Apple, which fixed the flaws before the details were made public.

CrimeDaughter Got Impregnated By Father In Ogun by Pulsenaija(op): 1:14am On Aug 13, 2019
https://pulzenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/pregnant-woman-768x432.jpg

Daughter got impregnated by father in Ogun – The Ogun State Police Command said it has arrested a 52-year-old father, Emmanuel Ikhine, for allegedly impregnating his 18-year-old daughter.

Ikhine reportedly had carnal knowledge of her daughter several times which resulted in pregnancy.

The randy father was said to have divorced his wife a few years ago and had since been having carnal knowledge of her only female child out of three children.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

Oyeyemi said the suspect was arrested following a report by a neighbour, Yemisi Ashade.

The PPRO said the daughter reported the case to a neighbour when she could no longer bear the pains of sexual assaults by her father.

According to Oyeyemi, the daughter said she was threatened not to divulge the affair to anyone.

Oyeyemi said the command discovered that the daughter was pregnant for her father when a test was conducted on her.

“She stated further that she can no longer bear the sexual assault hence she confided in her.

“Upon the report, the DPO Sango -Ota, CSP Godwin Idehai, detailed his detectives to the scene where the randy father was promptly arrested.

“On interrogation, he made a confessional statement that he has been having carnal knowledge of the victim long before now since he has separated from his wife.

“The victim who claimed to be the only girl amongst the three children of her father explained how the suspect has been sleeping with her whenever her two brothers are not around with threat, but, when she can not bear it, she reported to their neighbour who brought her to the station to report.

“The victim was taken to hospital where it was confirmed that she was already pregnant for her father.

“Meanwhile the Commissioner of Police, Bashir makama, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Anti-human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution,” Oyeyemi stated.

PoliticsBuhari, Tinubu, Others Under Fire For Allegedly Fabricating Lies Against Jonatha by Pulsenaija(op): 1:57pm On Aug 12, 2019
Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to the confession by a former spokesman of the All Progressives Congress, Timi Frank, that the ruling party fabricated outright lies against Jonathan.

He said it has not only vindicated the former leader but has exposed the APC to be a NAZI-like propagandist organization that used and uses fraud and economic sabotage to destroy Nigeria in its quest for power.

He said Frank revealed that damaging allegations made against the former President were deliberate falsehoods, fabricated by leaders of the APC against Dr. Jonathan, without any thought spared for the economic impact on the nation.

Omokri also recalled some of the most damaging allegations against the administration of ex-President Jonathan including the $49 billion missing and unaccounted for from the Federation Account and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and that the ex-President had emptied out the Excess Crude Account.

He said: “These false allegations were made in a desperate power grab, but they led to a massive loss of confidence in the Nigerian economy, leading to capital flight. These acts of economic sabotage were deliberate and are criminal.

“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission was established by the Peoples Democratic Party’s administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to identify, prevent and punish financial crimes against the Nigerian state.

“It is a financial crime to knowingly make false allegations against the Nigerian government’s Economic Management Policy for the purpose of undermining it and weakening it so that an individual or organisation can profit from such undermining.

“Based on the confession and testimony of Chief Timi Frank, it is clear and established that General Muhammadu Buhari committed a crime against Nigeria, aided and abetted by his party, the All Progressives Congress, in that they knowingly subverted the Nigerian economy and turned the then third fastest growing economy in the world to the present world headquarters for extreme poverty.

“As such, both the EFCC and the ICPC are called upon to prove their independence by commencing the investigation, arrest and arraignment of General Buhari, and his accomplices, including Rotimi Amaechi, Adams Oshiomhole, Nasir El-Rufai, Audu Ogbeh and Bola Tinubu, who made deliberate, false and misleading statements that not only plunged Nigeria into a recession, but also led to the loss of over 11 million jobs and introduced multi-dimensional poverty into the polity.

“Failure to do so on the part of both the EFCC and the ICPC, despite a confession by one of the dramatis personae, should be taken by the Nigerian public as proof that these law enforcement bodies have since lost the independence they enjoyed under the PDP, and are now mere appendages of the ruling party.

“In proof of this, I draw the attention of Nigerians to the failure of the EFCC to even investigate, talk less of charging the National Leader of the APC, Chief Bola Tinubu, who was caught on camera, by drones, ferrying money to his house in bullion vans on the morning of the last Presidential elections, in contravention of the Money Laundering Act, 2011, yet the EFCC has arrested and is set to arraign the son-in-law and lawyer of the PDP leader, Presidential candidate, and presumed winner of the February 23, 2019 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Waziri Adamawa.

“We also draw the attention of Nigerians to the economic price they have had to pay because of the economic sabotage of General Buhari and his fellow desperadoes.

“We ask Nigerians to remember the Good Old Days when fuel was ₦87 per litre, the dollar was ₦199 to $1, a 50kg rice was ₦8,000, a Lagos-Abuja return air ticket was ₦18,000, the ₦18,000 Minimum Wage was worth $120, a bottle of Coke was ₦60, a packet of Indomie noodles was ₦25, with a tin of Peak milk going for ₦80, while Nissan automobile was making cars in Nigeria for export.

“It should be noted that General Buhari remains unrepentant in his lies and economic sabotage, as evidenced by his recent statement that he has lifted 5 million Nigerians out of poverty. A statement that is outrightly contradicted by the World Bank which revealed that poverty in Nigeria has now assumed ‘multi-dimensional’ status.

“We urge Nigerians to note that these economic gains were eroded, not by the vagaries of the world economy, but by deliberate sabotage of unpatriotic elements.

“The chickens are finally coming home to roost. Truth cannot remain buried for long. It took extraordinary courage on the part of a major actor in the gang up against Jonathan to tender a public apology and also to call on others to do same having realized what a grave mistake they made.

“I accept Chief Timi Frank’s apology on behalf of Former President Jonathan, who remains a frontline democrat, the face of democracy in Africa and a statesman with a forgiving heart. Dr. Jonathan has since put 2015 and conspiracies he suffered as President behind him.”
