I bake two medium sized cakes with this recipe.... gave one to a friend of mine and the second one was devoured by my sweet-toothed friends. I only got a piece to eat


The cake came out fine.. it didn't burn but I didn't really like the chocolate part jare.... I didn't get the taste I wanted - although my friends loved it. I plan on making another next weekend with the new recipe I just discovered. Hopefully... I'll have gotten a cupcake maker by then an enough money in my account...

I baked them..... using a pot I no get oven for school.

Step 6 - Grease your baking pan with margarine and pour in the batter. DON'T fill the pan... just a two-third level is okay... the cake will rise and needs space for this.
I poured the chocolate flavoured batter first and poured the vanilla on top. Into my 'ovenated' pot it goes

Direction:

Step 1- Put the butter/margarine in a bowl and mix till it's fluffy. The second picture shows how the mixture looks like when you start and the third when it's fluffy. If you have a mixer.... the better. I used by hand for this one with the help of a turning stick.
NB: whatever direction you start with, either clockwise or anticlockwise, make sure you maintain it. It prevents air from trapping in the mixture and holes appearing in the cake.

Step 2 - Break the eggs and whisk. Then add it to the butter and sugar mixture little by little. It may start to cuddle but you shouldn't worry. Add the flavoring.... I used vanilla essence here.

Step 3 - Sift the flour with a sieve (the type used for yam flour) and measure the needed amount. Divide into three parts... add the part into mixture and fold it in.... the add the second part and fold it in....

Step 4 - To the third portion of the flour, add the baking powder and mix it. Then pour it into the mixture and fold it in.

Step 5 - Divide the mixture into two... add the raisins soaked in gin into one and the cocoa powder + gin into the other.

Here's the raisins soaked in dry gin.... I couldn't get rum...

I came across this cute little machine on the web yesterday and since then I've been asking everyone around where I can get it. Unfortunately, most people haven't heard of it. Please does anyone know where and how I can get it here in Nigeria? I want the babycakes product preferably.

I was really bored this weekend - my roomies had gone home leaving me all alone - and was craving for cake. So I decided to bake and here are pictures of my tasty yummilicious vanillochocolat cake.... chocolate and vanilla...


Ingredients
500g margarine
400g sugar (didn't want it too sugary)
500g flour
7 eggs
2/3 cup cocoa powder
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 cup raisins
1 tablespoon vanilla flavour
1 cup brandy/rum/dry gin (for preservation)

There are many reasons for late period and pregnancy is just one of them. The two-days pinkish discharge you saw could be implantation bleeding, and if it is then your pregnant. It could also be ovulation bleeding as some women tend to bleed when they ovulate.

Repeat the blood test next week...your blood HCG levels should have risen to a detectable amount at this time if you're pregnant. If it comes out negative again, and you're still yet to see your period, repeat it again but this time with an ultrasound. If you're really pregnant, the ultrasound would detect the yolk sac of the baby in your womb. It's a positive diagnosis. If it's still negative, you might as well be having pseudocyesis...'false pregnancy'.
