Read my write up with upmost care. Business start up is very good, there is this euphoria feeling that comes with it, I get it but, you have to consider some pro and con.
1. Dont ever, I repeat, dont ever set up a boutique in a street where legs dont frequent often. Solution; get your shop situated at a "major" bus stop, "popular" trade centre (like trade centre around Okoko, Lagos), in a "popular" market place eg Eko, Oluyole.
2. Dont, I repeat, dont be tempted to fill up your boutique with clothes/materials etc you feel are good due to your taste but trendy and dynamic stuffs. Presently, high waist skirt/jean is trending for female, light cloth (not black colour) because of the current weather etc.
3. Colour of your shop? Colour of the interior or exterior? I am not good with names of colour but, there is a particular green colour that is scientifically proven to be attractive to both gender (if you are considering both gender), while blue will be perfect for male only, for female, no idea (maybe pink).
4. Think music, act music, play music. Your boutique will not be complete without a music jamz banging through the door, always try to get trendy and latest music. Gospel is not music o (dont get me wrong, I am a christian).
5. "Dont go for shops in first, second or any floor. Target ground floor."
6. Be classy, be trendy, be creative. Your clothes, your bag, your "everything" must reflect your work etc.
