ZINIBANKS:

OK nice
But what other route can one get to the USA aside from student visa
The study route require a lot of Money

I’m not sure of any other way. If I find something new on that, I’ll definitely let you know.

ZINIBANKS:

Now that trump has stopped the H1b visa
Which other route do you think is easy to follow

You can still come as a student. They haven’t stopped that one yet.

I'm sorry for my typo..i meant was getting a car easy for you as public transport isn't readily available. Like are their loans fr it

You can get a car cheaper if you have the cash. But if you want to get it on loan, they'll look at a couple of things like your credit history, how much you can put down and things like that. You may end up paying more if you end up going the loan route. It varies.

chai..was getting a so difficult like here in Nigeria?

Public transportation is everywhere in Naija so it’s relatively easier to get around than in some cities here especially in the areas without public transportation.

Hi pivaila, welldone.
so i have qualified as a nurse already here and planning on coming over to work and study medicine,
so could you talk about my chances of getting the admission easily, and the possibility of working and studying medicine, the duration over there and cost..thank you

Hi, to work and study medicine here is a rigorous process. I’m not sure about all the details, but I believe you have to go through some extra steps to be qualified to practice here. You’ll have to do some research on that and find out what exams and things that you need to do for all of that. Good luck!

Please can you talk about life there if it will be lonely for first timers, relationships, culture shock u faced. Anything will be appreciated

It’s not really lonely because you’ll have roommates living in the house with you. For me, I may have experienced some culture shock but I can’t remember any off the top of my head. I’ll share as I remember. Depending on which school or state you go to, there’s always a Nigerian community somewhere, so it’s not hard to make friends. Transportation could be a problem depending on where you live. For eg. where I live there’s no public transportation, so you have to have your own car. It was quite difficult getting around until I was able to get a car.

actually I will so love to move over there but I am not interested in taking the study route because I am a printer by profession so I will prefer to know the route to take for this legally
so if you know how I can do this kindly enlighten me though I will still further my education I don't have the wherewithal to do so now. thanks so much

If I’m not mistaken the right route would be through H1B, but trump is really cracking down on immigration so I’m not sure how that’ll work. I’d advise you to do your research and talk to an immigration lawyer if possible.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

pls I'm into app developing. Whats the possibility of securing a job there from nigeria ?

Software development and programming is a huge industry here. Tech Companies are always looking for people who Know how to code very well. I’m not sure about getting the job from Nigeria, especially with the recent order about H1B visa.
However, getting the job from here just requires having the skill, and meeting with the right people who need your skills.

Oh great! @ashatoda I’m assuming you mean where you’ll be living, right?

Did you have any other questions about living here?
Travel / Living In USA As A Student:questions And Concerns You May Have About Living Here by pvaila(f): 2:10pm On Jul 06, 2020
Hey guys!
I created this page to share my experiences living as a student in the US. We have a lot of threads about the visa process, but I couldn’t find any threads on living here, and what it’s like.

I moved here in 2016, without my family, so I’ve had to figure out a couple of things on my own. So I know a thing or two.

Common questions could include how to get a job when you get here?
What type of jobs can you do?
How much can you expect to earn?
How much is living expenses?
Transportation and how to get around your city?
What are the best states to live in?

These are just some of the questions that you could ask. Please, feel free to ask any questions that you may have. I’ll be sure to answer! Good luck!

Nairaland / General / Choosing The Best Country For You As An International Student by pvaila(f): 10:21pm On May 13, 2018
When I came to the US to study, I didn't know much about all the factors that went into picking a country to study in. Over the years, I have learnt quite a number of things and how the small things matter. I put together a video sharing things to bear in mind when picking a country to study in. Feel free to ask any questions you may have, I'll be sure to answer!
