Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State announced that the new 6,000-seat Edo Arena will be named after the popular musician Divine Ikubor, known as Rema.

Obaseki made this announcement during the groundbreaking ceremony in Benin City on Wednesday, August 28th, 2024. He stated, "It was a pleasure to have our global music icon Rema join me in the groundbreaking ceremony for the 6,000-capacity Edo Arena."

The arena, which will be named ‘Rema’s Dome,’ is located on the former Garrick Memorial School Ground on Ekenhuan Road in Benin City.

The governor added that the arena will attract more visitors to the state, allowing them to experience Edo's rich culture, and will create employment opportunities for the youth.

Rema, who was in Benin for his homecoming concert at the Ogbe Stadium, participated in the ceremony by laying the first block.

This is one of the dumbest post i've ever read in the history of my existence. Op needs to study language first or to make it better, linguistics to better understand how important communication is to the intelligent species. For one to blame corruption or evil practices on language is... in fact, let me reserve the words!
