ILIDEFI:It has a lot to do with the economy because there can be no developmental progress in a state which would boost the economy when the entire state is in filth. That is the difference between you online bigots and a forward thinking performer like Obiano. He realised he had to work on clearing off dirts from the main city, saw the way Lagos did it and approached them to learn from them. With a clean Anambra, more investors would want to come in and do biz with the government. |
Bitterleafsoup:Please mention the white people that developed Lagos state. Maybe Tinubu and BRF are whites ![]() And because Anambra passed through war didnt mean the whole town was razed till no structure was left. Why do you like to lie to yourself to boost your ego? |
berrystunn:Skibo! You mean "Udene" means(bu) gay? Or what? ![]() |
PaulIdu:You and I are on a different wave length because I wasn't supporting Buhari in that my writeup you quoted. My point is: 1. What stops Bruce from also advising his state governor to go to Anambra and learn from Obiano? 2. If Buhari should learn from any state it shouldn't just be Anambra. Lagos trumps all other states in terms of revenue generation and efficiency. 3. Are you aware that most of the core members of Buhari's economic team once served in Lagos. Folks like Babatunde Fowler, Ben Akabueze, A former Lagos state deputy governor etc. 4. Ben Bruce advice is not genuine because all he does is to come online and spew trash for his bigoted followers to chew on when he can as well as meet with the presidency or the Min of Finance to offer his suggestions. 5. Lastly, the economic realities in Anambra state is far different from managing the affairs of an entire nation with lots of vested interests and issues so Bruce advice can best be described as utter nonsense and bullocks. Thank you. |
mykl01:Please move on and stop bringing up unnecessary points that's unrelated to the discuss. Lagos has ports. Why didn't GEJ fix the ports? Did Lagos stop other ports from coming on stream? How will an Ibaka seaport bring about the shortfall of Lagos revenue when the state is already ahead in expanding. Lagos today would by 2020 have as much as 7 seaports and you think an Ibaka seaport coming on stream would reduce the IGR. Mtchew. Abeg talk better thing. |
berrystunn:Ihe puo gi n'amu. |
rodimus:Bro, you didnt understand what happens because some posts were hidden and I have been banned. I made a statement on this issue and a bigot quoted me and insalted me back, that's why Lagos was brought into this discuss. I am not a tribalist. Thanks. |
Well, I guess an Android laptop might be a bad business from the feedbacks. But it's cash that is limiting us now. The budget is #35,000 and my cousin doesn't have more than that now. I'll appreciate if I can have suggestions on Laptops that wont cost more than 35k Thanks ![]() |
Sorry guys, it's still me Ajibel. The Antispambot in this section banned me for no reason and I've mailed the Mods and Supermods, nothing has been done about it elijah2u:We both have smartphones already, but my cousin wants a laptop so that he can be able to practice basic computing. He has been going for computer training but have no laptop due to cash constraint, that's why he needs a cheap laptop. Fulaman198:Yea, I know that from what I've read online about Android laptops but we dont need lots of functionalities yet. Just a laptop that can handle basic stuffs like Word documents/ Photos/ DVDs etc. till I can get a good laptop for him like My own laptop (Toshiba) that cost me approximately #125k when I bought it back in 2011. baba11:Thanks, but I have my reservations about Tablets I won't spend a dime to buy one even if it is 5k |

Good Boi: Don't put all your eggs in one basket. |
jboy01: i do mine with vb.net and java |
Good Boi: Do you mean GUI libraries\API or apps? Pythonian99: Desktop GUIsI thought my thread title was clear. ![]() |
BlueMagnificent: I do mine with c++ using either Qt or wxWidgets toolkits |
ViktorMartins: >>> Are there GUI developers in Nigeria? Am oneThanks for your response! |
Desktop GUIs |
It has always been on my mind to ask this question but an event this weekend has prompted me to come forward. A friend saw my paper design of a gui app, and he was like "the world is moving in the direction of mobile and i'm still backward with gui" ![]() There seem to be little or no attention given to GUI development by Nigerian programmers. We only discuss/ code for the web, mobile and game and GUI seems to be obsolete. Well i intend diving into creation of gui apps but for personal use, sorry so i just want to throw forward the questions:>>> Are there GUI developers in Nigeria? Please indicate yourself >>> What language(s) do you use or you think is best suited for GUIs'? >>> Would/ do you create GUI apps for commercial or personal purposes or both >>> What is/are your major challenge(s) as a GUI developer? >>> What do you have to say to n00bs to encourage them to go into GUI? or why should "they" not venture there? Thanks ![]() |
DONOCSO: How do you mean?Ask Edsger Dijkstra ![]() |
"The use of COBOL cripples the mind; it's teaching should therefore be regarded as a criminal offence" |
woski417: i want all notifications to be sent directly to users message inbox via the phone number they registered with. Notifications such as birthday of friends, reminders and other activities. I thought that this method wil be more lively since some persons dont visit dia email frm time to time@pythonianBut you should have made it an option because there would be people (like me) who'd be uncomfortable in providing their phone numbers. Besides, i didn't provide my number to sites like FB, TWT who wanted to forward my alerts to me via SMS because it's a disturbance. So Sir, provide options/ alternatives to your users. Don't force them!!! Nothing also stops me from providing a FAKE phone number. |
rutchiekens: I guess u've never heard of "jack of all trade, master of some"....No Sir, I'm not interested in the opinion of someone that has now uncharacteristically be termed as a "wise saying". A true programmer 'd rather do this: For instance, if Python isn't used to develop mobile apps, he'd try to use Python to create a framework that can be used to create mobile apps and see how it works. That is the kind of Python programmer I want to be, not a Jack-of-many-programming-languages ![]() |
Please Python is not (just) a "scripting" language. Thanks ![]() |
Bump!!! What happen to the site ![]() |
Why MUST i fill in my phone number Why not email address? ![]() |
LOL @7 and 10. But i know this is a Joke!!! |
A programmer can either learn a "low" level or "high" level language as a beginner depending on the path he chooses to follow. You want to learn how to program real world instrumentation, then start with the appropriate language, HARD or EASY!!! |
Python is a good language when you're much concerned about fast development and rapid prototyping and it can be used for other crunching tasks and gets your project quickly delivered but when your project requires speed or requires more interaction with a system's high level layer, then C/C++ becomes your preferred option. That said, you can be a badass in C++ but then use Python to write extension modules or as a component in a large C++ application!! You'd gain both ways. As for what to do with your knowledge in C++, start by either looking at what program you can write for your pc to automate basics tasks or go online and start solving challenges, inspiration 'd fall on your path!!! |
I'd rather learn a language and be a Master in it than choose to learn 5 or 10 and remain an average joe in all!!! |
