Yes transport system must be cheap and affordable to common man that practice in all developed world. And it part of their obligation to people. That yeye and stupid tax policy must not see the light of the day. It is criminal, inhumane and devilish to introduce such tax now.

I honestly don’t get your point. Are you actually trying to justify a 5% tax on fuel? Let’s break it down: the refinery (Dangote) will pay tax, the truck companies will pay tax, filling stations will pay tax, consumers will also pay the tax and on top of that, they’ve already paid income tax. Add VAT to the mix, and you still come here defending this madness? Either you’re being spoon-fed or you clearly don’t understand how real money is made. Or maybe you’re just one of those laptop warriors in the 30k brigade, paid to defend every bit of rubbish this government throws at us. I’ve never seen a single Nigerian who runs a genuine business or earns honest money stand up to defend them. So the level of control achieve thru subsidy removal is not enough. They don't any Nigerian to move out with cars again. While paying for high exorbitant transport fare. Does that diminish or improve our quality of our lives? We are retrogression every day in Nigeria.

If they want real control let them establish a good transport system in all major cities which is cheaper, efficient and safe. Then people will natural go for public transport and shun buying pms instead then can achieve that, not this useless tax that will further improvise many Nigerians.

I paid for this prepaid meter through skyebank then with the receipt still with me till today, the prepaid has not arrived since almost 10 years now with one of their official recently saying I should go and pay for another one.

The main motive behind the subsidy removal on fuel and floatation of FX was to make more funds available for capital expenditure and projects instead of borrowing.

The big question is, are we still borrowing or not?

If we are still borrowing despite subsidy removal, it means the core purpose of subsidy removal has been defeated.
