WeirdAlien:
It's your thinking that is misplaced.
So, you just believe what the "reports" says??
Are they not citizens? why can't they protest against Abuja demolition?
If you think it's wrong for them to protest any perceived issues with governance, then you deserve every suffering you get resulting from Nigeria's bad leadership.
Aluta spirit is completely dead. When it was alive, politicians were very careful to visit campuses - students will call you out!
It seems à new lexicon in the dictionary of the lazy and wailers is "suffering " ! You're the one actually suffering from ignorance!

WeirdAlien:
This is the mentality that has brought the Nigeria to its knees under nonsense leadership. You're probably quite young to know some things.
In those days up to early 2000s, the SUG excos will mobilize students from Awo Hall to block the minister's vehicle from leaving the campus until those students are released.
In that same OAU, Obasanjo was locked up in the toilet in 1999 by students. He became president a few months later and nothing happened.
LAUTECH SUG excos once blocked a sitting governor (Lam Adesina) from entering his vehicle on campus, and he had to trek with them till he got outside. The same students once blocked a governor's convoy (Bukola
Saraki) from passing the town, and he had to turn back to Ilorin and find an alternative route.

This is indicative of the fact that every public office holder is accountable to the people, they're not kings or lords you can't challenge or protest against, anytime, anywhere!

I'm saying this so you know how much respect was given to university students. Now, they're treated like shit.
And where had it taken them to? The report says fellow students wants to bounce on the 2 guy protesters but for timely intervention of the college security staff!
Students didn't protest about what's distracting their educational exploits but concerned themselves with Abuja demolition!
Misplaced priority!

From previous topic: https://www.nairaland.com/8437691/democracy-dead-nigeria
Nigeria exactly 26 years ago transitioned from Authoritarian military rule to Democratic Civil Rule but we do face challenges.

As a nation, Nigeria like other countries of the world faces challenges but concerted efforts must be made by both the government and the governed to make democracy work in Nigeria.
That's Patriotism and Loyalty! God bless Nigeria.

But is democracy really dead in Nigeria?
The following infographics, highlights some indices and countries globally and Africa where Democracy had been buried.
This series compiled by Calvox Datalytics Solutions (Good Governance Initiatives) will be concluded tomorrow.
