The US Ambassador to Nigeria , Ambassador Richard M. Mills, Jr., stated this at the Lagos Business School FireSide Chat yesterday at the Pan Atlantic University where he said the tariffs were meant to balance trades with other nations. He said Nigeria is America's largest trade partner in Sub-Saharan Africa with more American businesses presence than in any othèr African countries ! At the Lagos Business School's exclusive Fireside Fire Chat, Ambassador Richard M. Mills, Jr., U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, discussed the U.S.-Nigeria commercial and investment partnership. He highlighted the $6bn trade relationship in 2023, the largest in sub-Saharan Africa, and commended President Tinubu and the minister of commerce and trade for stimulating FDIs. He acknowledged recent tax reforms as addressing business and trade concerns. The Ambassador also discussed the potential for new opportunities in agriculture, digital technology, infrastructure, healthcare, and capital markets. He also highlighted the challenges faced by American businesses, such as energy-power issues and corruption. He also discussed the China-Nigeria trade relationship and the need for a fair environment for investors.
