That is typical of a lot of Nigerian companies, they always feel like they are doing you a favor, banks, mr biggs, you name it and the fact is, you are doing them a favor. I always set them straight, customer is not king in Nigeria. We have to change that backward mentality.

EducationRe: Fate of a Graduate with 3rd Class in Nigeria by QUAM: 6:24pm On Aug 24, 2005
I am probably one of the few people who think that your result in school does not really matter. I did my undergraduate in the United States, but I HATED the idea that school is the ultimate and only way. I currently run a telecoms outfit in NiGERIA AND THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS, I really dont care what my employees certificate say, I do not believe in book smarts only. Nigeria is a society that so much believe in paper certificate. 3rd class, not sure what that mean, but from the look of things it does not seeem to be the best result. All I CAN say is good luck. I also think Nigeria is a society with a lot of theory and not much practical, In essence BS. jUST MY OWN perspective.
BusinessRe: Which Nigerian Bank Do you Use and Why? by QUAM: 5:19pm On Aug 24, 2005
I CURRENTLY USE STANDARD TRUST WHILE iN Naija, but I am getting tired of them, it took them almost two months to open my virtual account (online account) and it is taking over one month and going to activate my online account password and user id. It just sucks. You cant call on the phone to get your account balance. I am thinking of gtb now.
PoliticsRe: Govt okays N80 per litre for petrol by QUAM: 5:16pm On Aug 24, 2005
The reality is that crude is getting mroe expensive on the global scale, bear in mind that we import the refined oil and export the crude, we are able to peg out crude pricee, while that cannot be said of the refined oil. I pay $2.60 cents for a gallon of oil, compared to about $1.40 a year ago. I am for the market determining the price of oil. I was in Naia two weeks ago, oil is hetting high everywhere. Venezuela is also threatening to cut US oil supply, that could also increase the oil price. That is just life and we have to deal with it. uNTIL WE START TO REFINE OUR OWN OIL IN NAIJA, we will be affected by the global increase in the price of oil.
