An expanse of land hidden at Roberts Island, a village off Lagos waters near Atlas Cove, where oil bunkers perforate oil pipelines and steal oil products, was yesterday discovered and exposed by a team led by the Petroleum Minister, Ibe Kachiukwu.

A search around the place showed equipment used by the oil bunkers to perforate oil pipelines and then store the products in the kegs pictured above.

The kegs and the tools used for vandalization were all found buried in the ground. It appeared all dwellers in the community had a role in the vandalism as not one of them reported the matter to the police.

Dr Kachikwu could not hide his disappointment as he spoke to newsmen after the discovery.
“I must say that I was very disillusion to find this discovery but much as I was happy that it was found, it just took a lot of wind off my sail in the sense of what next and who knows how many more have not been discovered.‎ At the end of the day, the responsibility for protecting the assets of Nigerians must lie in the hands of Nigerians. There is no magic that I have that I am going to be able to deliver zero incident environment, given the number of attacks we are getting everywhere but at the end of the day, communities like these ones must begin to rise up and say this is just not right.”‎he said

The reader who witnessed the incident writes below…
Something happened today and thought that sharing with us would make other people to be aware and endeavor not to fall a victim. I’m a Corper and am serving at a government secondary school in Kaduna. Today a man came to our school to sell some stuff, according to him it’s an insecticide that kills cockroach, insects, scorpions, scares snakes away and most of all Lassa fever. He went into the staff room and many teachers bought the stuff. Unknown to them the content was just ordinary salt…

After making about #18,000 from the sales and when he was about leaving, one of the teachers decided to open her own, Lo and behold it was ordinary salt that was packaged with no name of the product, address or phone number. So the teacher went to d corridor and called him to come and collect the stuff back and return her money that she is no longer interested.

Immediately the young man started running towards the school gate and the teacher started shouting “thief thief thief” with the help of some copers sitting outside, the guy was apprehended.

Please Aunty help me share with others so that they should mind the kind of deceit some people are bound to do.

News getting to us is that Tania broke up with Wiz a while ago but both parties agreed to be friendly towards each other.

While speaking to select On-Air-Personalities in Lagos state today Jan 23rd, Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, revealed that when he assumed office as a Minister, he discovered some Senior officials in a particular parastatal who were indicted in a job scam where they collected as much as N400, 000 from unsuspecting job applicants.

According to him, he dismissed them from service after they were found guilty
“The first scandal I met in one of the parastatals when I assumed office was the illegal employment of 400 people. This scandal started with very senior officers up to level 17 in that department. They sent out letters and text messages asking people to apply for jobs for a fee of N400, 000 and they were given letters of employment. They did not stop there. They invited these people to go and be captured on the IPPIS and they even took cameras to hotels to get them captured. At the end of the day the bubble burst. One of the victims told these officials, you cannot take my money and still disengage me. I have a valid letter. That is how we got to know that there is a dedicated account these people pay to. Of course, we dismissed these officials and we even handed them over to the Police“ he said
