manontree: First there are a number of reasons to experience this. Luckily you have eliminated much of these, including having done a transvaginal ultrasound and abdominal scan. I also like the fact that your doctor has ruled out hormonal imbalance. So far so good
Second, I guess we should equally eliminate the possibility of an infection by doing an HVS
Finally this might be entirely normal and such cases, usually down to subtle anovulation, tend to normalise over time. Since you plan to get pregnant now, discuss with your doctor on treatment options to get your body back to normal for that procedure
Also eat healthy, exercise and maintain a healthy weight
Good luck noted. thanks u sir |

mranova: Hi, I am not a doctor but I would love to share my experience with you. From my little knowledge, it happens so don't be afraid. Visit a proper fertility hospital for a scan to be certain if it's PCOS or not.
My experience is similar to yours I see my period sometimes once in six months. I was happy to escape the usual monthly flow and pains (because anytime the period comes it's heavy). Until I got married and tried getting pregnant which was difficult. When to the hospital did a hormonal profile (which was normal) did HSG (which was normal) then a scan showed that I had PCOS( you can Google more about the condition). Fast forward to the treatment, my doctor prescribed provera 3 times daily for five days ( to bring the period) a few days after the period came. Secondly on day 2 of the period he prescribed Clomid (started 50mg first trial, 100mg second trial, 150mg third trial- which finally got me preggy). I do hope you find something helpful in my experience. Noted. thank you |

cho25bc: @ d bolded,it is not true. Im in my early 30s and the last time i experienced irregular periods was in my late teenage years and early 20s. For over 7 years,my period has been regular on a monthly basis. Like someone said,it may be due to a particular hormonal malfunction in your body. Contact the doctor @healthyway to get help.
Regarding ur man wanting u to get pregnant before marriage,i will advise you to be careful with this plan. You may be ok with it but just be careful. God will be with you. thanks m’aam |

Healthyway15: Hello... Sorry about your condition
Normally, for the first few years after menstruation begins, long cycles are common. However, menstrual cycles tend to shorten and become more regular as you age until you get close to menopause.
Although there are many causes of irregular menstruation, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and hypothyroidism are the two common causes of irregularities periods in women. But before we go further and for proper diagnosis, you can still provide answers to some questions..
Like how long does your period typically last? Is it longer or shorter than usual? Does the flow seem lighter or heavier than usual? Are you bleeding inbetween periods? Do you feel any pain with your periods? If so, describe. Have you experienced any changes in mood or behaviour? And are you suffering from any underlying health condition?
Getting answers to the questions really help in the proper diagnosis, and the right recommendation of treatment for your condition. my period last for 3 to 4 days its shorter than usual because i last for 5 to 7 days before and it comes lighter i feel severe pain that last for 3weeks or more b4 i finally see it and i dnt think i bleed between period because after my period the flow is usually very light i dont experience changes in mood and i dont have an underlying health condition. |
