EducationRe: KSU Strike- ASUU Hardens, Students Rage by Raabs(m): 9:26pm On Jul 13, 2017

Following the governors visit on 11th of July, who beckoned to the Academic staff union of universities branch of the institution to call of the strike and promised to pay them even they call off or not, the hopes of the 6 month old strike being called off was smashed like tennis serve as the ASUU body resolved to continue the strike for the singular reason that the payments of outstanding three months must be made before they resume. To that effect the student body has issued an ultimatum of 24hours for the lecturers to vacate the school premises or face whatever they receive.

It would be recalled that the ASUU chapter was vehemently supported by the student body due to the fact they said they were fighting for the 2015 staff which the government wanted to dissolve thier appointment due to evidence of nepotism and as such the students knelt down to the governor during his visit to accept the 2015 staff which he agreed to do and also every other issues facing the strike and as such it was already a victory pending until when the ASUU chapter said they won't call off until receive payments for the outstanding 3 months they were being owed despite the fact that they were not working during these period.

The aggrieved students who have been on the receiving end of the whole battle have protested 3 times and got arrested and also were shot and injured because they were requesting the lecturers be paid but when the ball was in the court of the lecturers they made it clear that they were fighting for thier personal interest and even dumped the 2015 staff to the fate of the government after using it as an excuse while they receive electricity and payments to go partying and for nothing.

Currently the school is at the very edge of a state of emergency and If not God nothing would make the students turn back on their words..
