The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, says he won’t vote for any of his counterparts if he weren’t contesting the 2023 presidential election.

Tinubu was asked in an interview he granted BBC Africa if he would vote for either Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) if he weren’t on the ballot.

The former Lagos state governor, however, said he wouldn't vote for any of them

Asked why he would not vote for Atiku or Peter Obi if he weren't contesting, Tinubu said:

“None, because they are not as competent as any other person out there. They have no track record, none of them is qualified except me.”

Meanwhile, Tinubu also spoke about his source of wealth, saying those criticising him were driven by envy.

According to him, his wealth came from investments in real estate.

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has said that he will work assiduously with his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed to tackle the insecurity bedevilling Nigeria.

The cable reports that Obi while speaking at a meeting with some northeast stakeholders in Abuja on Monday, December 5, said that he and Datti have the best experience with the incessant attacks and insecurity in the country.

Also decrying the growing rate of unemployment among the youths, Obi said such challenges are fuelling the insecurity in the northern part of the country.

His words:

“Youth unemployment is nearing 50 per cent, so you have millions of youth in their productive age doing nothing, not knowing where the next meal will come from. In that situation, you are going to have crises. Crisis of insecurity, banditry, kidnapping.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 29-year-old pregnant woman, Kate Ibinabo with 34.4kgs cannabis sativa in Okrika, Rivers state.

Spokesperson of the agency, Femi Babafemi, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, December 4, said the suspect, who is 9 months pregnant was arrested on Saturday.

"The Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), CON, OFR, has however directed that she be granted administrative bail pending when she is delivered of her baby and thereafter return for her prosecution because at the time of her arrest, shes in her ninth month of pregnancy," the statement read.
