CityNG: You are free to have an opinion of me, no matter how wrong and ridiculous it makes you look.

I'm matured enough to accept you don't like me.

Have a nice day.

Name one American that has ever died from Ebola?

CityNG: I'll keep watch on it and make a decision in the best interest of my family shortly.

Nigerians are the dumbest group of people. Even with hard core facts in front of us and with our people dying left and right we can still call this propaganda?

I question the state of the education system at home.

blessedfavoured: Thank you so much. Yes it's the international Visa card. I guess diamond is way cheaper than gtb then.
You're welcome. I don't know how much GT charges but Diamond rates are cheap. As at yesterday, even their PTA was at 269 naira.

Emmagency: Aii....Thanks for the heads up.. Is there any requirement I must fulfill before I can walk into either diamond or first bank in London and request that my funds be transferred to my UK account instead of withdrawing and depositing in cash?
The banks function independent of each other. So yes you need to withdrawal the money then pay into the UK diamond bank which you will have to open differently in the Uk.

You can also walk into the diamond bank UK and confirm this. What I think based on the information available to me is what am telling you. They might have another way but be armed with you international debit card and online banking details before you travel so you are not stranded. Worst case, you do an online transfer to another person (maybe family member you trust) in Nija who can initiate a foreign currency transfer(FCY) from your local Diamond acct (that is Nija) into the international Diamond bank acct which you would have then opened in d UK.

These are just options decide what's best for you. In making ur decisions, consider the charges. I advise you collect ur acct officers phone number so u can compare between the ATM charges if you have to withdrawal in the Uk, the black market rate of buying pounds here in Nija and the cost of FCY.

If you do your research well, you would be surprised at how much you would save.

blessedfavoured: Does anyone here know if gtbank mastercard or diamond Visa card work on uk ATMs?
Just want to be sure, someone told me sainsbury's only.
And charges too.
Thank you !
Yes Gt MasterCard and Diamond International VISA debit both work on UK machines.
Pls ensure that the diamond card is their INTERNATIONAL debit card, cos there are two diff cards. The Diamond Visa only pays locally that is just here in Nija.

The last time I used my diamond card out side Nigeria, the charged 240 per withdrawal don't kn for GT.

Emmagency: Emmagency: Hello all, please I'm planning on opening a diamond bank account as I'm getting tired of those yeye first bank guys...considering the fact that diamond also has a branch in London does anyone have an idea how they compare to FB in terms of quality of service, flexibility and reliability..?
Hello...anyone with an idea on this?
Diamond bank surely will offer you good service, reliability and all but please bear in mind that the diamond bank in the UK is INDEPENDENT of the one in Nigeria even though it's the same owners. The implication of this is that you CANNOT work into Diamond bank Uk and try to ACCESS your diamond bank Nigeria. ITS NOT POSSIBLE!

Here is what you can do. Open an account with Diamond bank Nigeria collect their Diamond INTERNATIONAL VISA DEBIT CARD.( it's just 1050 naira) you can use this card to withdrawal from any VISA powered ATM any where in the world. It would pay you in that country's local currency.

Also note that if you collect this ATM card, you must activate it(that is change your PIN) at the local Diamond bank machine here in Nigeria before you travel. In essence ensure the card is working and all documentations on the account are complete before you travel.

The advantage of this is that someone can even pay as little as 5k in nija for you, and you can easy withdrawal it in pounds in the UK.

justwise: Yes i'm now making my own rules according to you. Before you lie and deceive people here read this

Read rule 183 from justwise.com located here https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/343718/T4_Guidance_08-14.pdf
You are obviously an arrogant person and probably jobless. I can understand why you are always available. You will have to excuse me I got work to do. Time is money. I have read that link back to back even before you pasted it here. Am sure you wish you were the author.
I have got to go make some money. Continue your work but pls don't forget that you are not the British Embassy and do not instill unnecessary fear in people.
You may wish to send them your CV they may help you. Am done here.

Really? I'm not God? Was thinking i'm....pointless.

Do you bother to know why the rule specifically stated that applicants should leave their money in bank account throughout the visa application and travel to the UK with that money? Its wrong to advice or encourage anybody to withdraw that money after submitting application because clearly that is against the visa rule. For the fact that you did it and get away with it does not mean that it will work for everybody.

This is exactly why some embassies like Canadian embassy randomly ask applicants to resubmit refresh bank statement and if you have moved your money by then the new printout will caught you out.
Thank God you where thinking and I am sure you have stopped thinking you are God.And for your information I never asked anyone to move money, I only met an information need. He asked the question, for what ever reason best known to him and I gave him a correct answer.

I didn't get away with it, it's not a crime! I know more than 6 people who have done the same thing. People have things to do with their monies and not just to hold it down in some bank account with lesser yield. The British embassy asked to leave the money for just 28 days, even the schools asked for fees to be paid in installments cos they understand that even though you can afford to pay your fees, it may be not be easy to hold the bulk funds down.

It's obvious you have started making some of the rules here yourself. Am sure you think you are now the British Embassy Lol.
Please give correct information and not just what you think, cos it isn't abt you! You don't make the decisions.

If you do not agree with what someone has said, there is a better way to express your opinion not in the arrogant way you did when you stated that you doubt If I work in a bank and the position I occupy.

Your probably mad that someone's has an information you do not have! It's possibly dear, you must not kn it all. Relax!!
I know your type.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by Rachii: 9:18am On Aug 21, 2014
justwise: I pretty much doubt that you work at the bank or in a position to deal with the embassies
@justwise unfortunately for you, it's is not for you to decide who works where and what position the occupy since you are not God! On the completion of my 28 days, I moved my money back to my investment account and continued to do my investment bids with the money so I can gain more money before I travel. My VISA came out exactly 9 working days later.

Still @Justwise you are doing a great Job here, but if you are not clear on any question it's better you leave it then trying to insult and throw stones at another person who seem to have the information you do not have.

For the records when the embassy sends a confirmation to your bank, they send the data page of the form you filled online, the one with your picture and ask the bank to confirm that the person who's picture appears is truly their customer and is aware that his account is been used for the visa application. (Becos sometimes it's a sponsors acct that is used not the VISA applicant). They also ask the bank to confirm that the statement and information represented on it is authentic and correct.( cos a fraudulent person may attempt to alter the records on the statement.

That's all the embassy confirms from the bank. The bank has an obligation to you as a customer not to release you account balance to anyone or institution(embassies included) except with a court order.

@bumzaji pls walk into any branch of your bank and get a professional advice, just make sure you don't blow the money before you travel cos you will sure need it. Anyone may want to reinvest their money and make more before they are due to travel!

justwise: Everything you said there is misleading.
No it's not misleading. I work in a bank and I gave that information from an informed position. Except it works differently else where. We confirm the money as at when statement was printed.

bumzaji: Is it true that even after the 28days of maturation of the money and the priniting of the statement, you still have to leave the money in the account till u get your visa?kind of urgent
No you don't have to leave the money. They bank only confirms to them your bal as at the date your statement was printed. They bank doesn't have the right to give them the balance as at when the came to confirm.

Kindly assist I am applying for a tier 4 general student Visa, I already have my CAS and enough money for myself and dependent. Pls my questions are these:
Can I book an appointment a week before payment? I see a statement saying if do not pay in the next 3 hours, your appointment would be cancelled. I booked on the 10th and intend to pay on the 15th( this is when my money should have reached 28 days in my account) visa Appointment day is 19th.

Secondly, I am using my account to hold the funds required for both me and my dependent, who is not a signatory to this account. Pls is this ok? Or do we require a separate account that would bear the defendant's name, with his own maintenance fund. He is above 18.
Or should I just leave it in my account, as we will be applying together?

Thank you for your time.
